    Filet mignon and shrimp hibachi

Very fun if you're looking for a college crowd on a Saturday night. If you don't want sake bomb screams every 15 mins, I'd recommend going during the week instead. Ok food, fast service

Very delicious sushi, nice thick cuts and fresh. The miso soup was also yummy. Many people had hot dishes as well that looked really good so I'd like to try that on the next visit. We did have to wait a long time for the check, over 20 min at least. Otherwise a great spot.

    Sushi Pizza

My daughter found this place and wanted to try their sushi pizza. So I had to please her. The sushi's pizza seems to be on a scallion pancake, she said it was really good. I had shrimp tempura, as I'm not really a sushi lover myself. The shrimp tempura was really good and a very good size. I also had the miso soup, which was good as well. The server was very attentive and nice, and the place is aesthetically pleasing and clean. We will come again because she wants to try the Halloween roll next.

The sushi was fresh, great options on their menu. The ambiance is nice, suitable for a date or hangout with friends. The staff was quick at attending us and helpful. Glad to have visited this restaurant because it takes the stress out of looking for a reliable sushi spot.

Wanted to try new sushi spot, Okinii in Greenwich Village had great wings, an awesome sushi selection, and quick, friendly service. Despite the busy area outside, there's usually plenty of space to get a table, making it an easy choice.

    Chirashi lunch

Lunch specials are great. I have gotten the chirashi twice. It is very consistent. Nothing premium though. Just your typical tuna, salmon, yellowtail, mackerel, and tomago. Comes with soup or salad. Always ready by the time I walk over (within 15mins).

Nice sushi spot with reasonably priced lunch specials. 2 sushi rolls for $14 with either a soup or salad. I opted for miso soup with a spicy tuna and shrimp tempura roll. Flavor was great, my only bone to pick was that the nori was a bit chewy and hard to eat. Service was excellent and very fast. The restaurant itself was quiet during lunchtime which was nice.

Walked in here by myself after a happy hour event! I needed food and quickly! I was seated immediately by the hostess, who was so friendly and sweet. Right away a server came by to take my order, after a quick glance at the menu I knew what I needed, wings and my fav Salmon rolls. Within 10 minutes I had my drink and wings to start. The wings were crispy and seasoned perfectly. I tried to eat them as modestly as possible but I couldnt help myself; they were really good. The salmon roll was fresh and filling! Since I was by myself the staff would stop by and chat with me for a little bit which was super sweet. All in all I was there for 30minutes total. As a native new yorker, i love when i can get in and out of a place within 30 minutes and feel like i had a 1-2hr experience. I will definitely go back!

pretty good hibachi, not the best ive had but it was solid for the price. i tried the chicken hibachi which came with miso soup. the soup was standard but i wouldve preferred more tofu. the hibachi was a good size, and included chicken, oranges, and veggies. i paid an extra $5 for fried rice. the rice was just alright, and the veggies overall didn't taste the freshest. service was good. the place is quite cute inside with adorable dish ware. also no wait time for 2, and there was lots of seating inside. to note, the hibachi chef side experience is only available at dinner time which i was not aware of beforehand.

Love this spot in WV! Perfect to swing by for lunch or dinner. The staff are great and they present their sashimi plates beautifully. Been here a couple times now and will for sure keep coming back! I love to keep places in my back pocket that you can always count on if other plans go awry and this is being added to that list!

Free sake at end of meal

Stopped in for a lunch with a colleague and wasn't disappointed. At the back of the restaurant, there's a hibachi station and the chef seemed to have the crowd entertained when I visited. The food we ordered was pretty typical and didn't really wow us but the pricing was decent and it did come with free sake shot at the end of our meal.

Eel avocado roll, uni sushi with quail egg, toro sashimi
    Alana K.

I came here with my dad for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon. The restaurant is pretty big, which standard tables in the front section and hibachi grills in the back. I had the sashimi lunch special, which came with five different types of fish and some rice on the side. I thought it tasted fresh and was a nice selection. We also ordered uni sushi (not the freshest), toro, and an eel avocado roll (mostly avocado, not very much eel). Definitely not a bad sushi spot, and they have a ton of lunch specials.

Very nicely prepared. Good mix of white tuna, salmon, tuna, yellowtail , and reasonably priced.

But maybe because I tried the Smoke Dashi Ramen and the smoked fish oil did not appeal to me at all. I used to make it a requirement to visit Ichiran every time I came to New York, but this time I'm so glad I decided to revisit Tonchin. The noodles were thick and perfectly chewy the way I like it. And the broth was rich in a way that was almost milky, and not just a bowl of broth and salt like your typical American ramen chain restaurants. It barely knocks Ichiran off the top of my list for ramen in the US. However, as good as the chashu was, it wasn't as delicate as Ichiran does it. Nevertheless, I haven't had such an enjoyable meal in a while. #384

Entering inside the server was easy to talk too and had a speak easy type feel. Lights dimmed down with Michelin Star awards to my left, bar seating to my right, additional seating in the back next to the visible busy kitchen. Music was a modern sound of Korean hiphop and EDM. Menu was a QR code and within 15 minutes my appetizer and ramen was delivered. Ordered: -Tsukune chicken and pork bun This was delicious! The Karachi coleslaw paired well with the teriyaki sauce which also calmed the sweet taste. Tonkatsu Tokyo Classic Ramen - This was good, but as a ramen fan, I think it could of been slightly better - Broth was definitely good with a bold salty taste - Chashu was soft, thinly cut and not chewy. However, I'm a seared chasu type guy, but each their own. - I did not add additional side items to the ramen besides what garnishes already come with the bowl. - Overall Tonkatsu Ramen was normal Next time I'm in town, I will be back to try the Tan Tan ramen and other appetizers next!

After reading all the glowing reviews, I had to try it for myself and Kohoku-Ku did not disappoint! Walking in, my first impression was small but cute, simple, and cozy. Since I dined early, it was delightfully peaceful. My server was incredibly warm and friendly, and the food came out impressively fast. I ordered a bowl of their signature Kohoku-Ku Ramen and an order of Takoyaki. The Kohoku-Ku Ramen was packed with flavor, totally unique, and deeply comforting. It completely hit the spot. The Takoyaki was cooked perfectly! A huge plus was that it wasn't buried under a mountain of bonito flakes like at many other places. As the evening went on and the dinner crowd rolled in, the atmosphere picked up a pleasant energy, but the noise level stayed remarkably comfortable that you can actually have a normal conversation without shouting across the table. I am so happy I chose this spot. It was the perfect ending to a long trip to NYC, and I already can't wait to come back for another meal!

The sweet potato tempura was really well done, one of my favorite appetizers not too oily but good with beer. The namesake ramen is loaded! So much tempura with soft shelled crab, shrimp, and even the enoki mushrooms! If you're a spice head you'll love it, because it's on the spicier side of ramens in NYC. If not... well good luck at the end. It's a pretty cozy place, so not a lot of seats. Service was good albeit a bit sparse, think 1 person was waiting every table so it was a bit slow at times. It's not my favorite ramen in NY but given the distance to my hotel it was a solid option for party members who want other stuff besides ramen.

We started with the pork belly appetizer which was recommended and stated on the menu indicating it's their featured dish. It was the biggest disappointment as it was extremely fatty with large chunks of fat, while the lean portions were dry. It didn't look very appetizing. The dumplings were just okay--they had decent flavor but I was hoping for a crispier texture. I ordered the Zebra Ramen. The noodles were cooked perfectly al dente, but the broth was much saltier than I would have preferred. The pat of butter felt unnecessary and made the broth overly rich without adding much depth. The chashu was on the small side and also quite fatty and I assume it's the same as the appetizer but was sliced instead of in large chunks. The marinated egg had good flavor, although the yolk was a little more cooked than I typically like. Another thing is the pork belly appetizer came with an egg. I wish the server would tell us so we didn't have to add it to our ramen with an extra charge. The nori was also completely soggy by the time it reached our table. Overall, the noodles were the only highlight of the meal and the rest were very underwhelming. It's definitely not a place I would recommend.
