Bill still cost a ton. So I'm at Old Glory right now as we speak. And I've been here before. I really enjoy the food. It's a super cool place to go to. The mood lighting and decor is fab. But man, tonight the service BLOWS. Super disappointing. Our waiter took an order for a round of shots, round of water, three drinks and two handfuls of appetizers. He came back quick with the 3 drinks, and a food runner came with all of our apps. It was perfect. Right up until a half hour later and our server literally walked past us and didn't say a word at least 20 times!! We say excuse me, and nothing. He kept walking. Served other tables their apps and dinner and drinks. And we just sat here. Finally he comes over and stares at us. And says the waters and shots are coming, looks at the steps and looks back. Takes our dinner orders. 45 minutes later, we have our shots and waters. Things are getting better. I'm so thankful for this water right now. And by now, my dinner is being cooked and the spit is going right in my order. I'm buzzed so I'll never know the difference. My overall recommendation? You're better off ordering though Uber Eats. Visited today (Tuesday) for the first time just before 4pm. I was joined by one guest. It was a nice day and we were given the option of dining inside or outside, I chose inside. They have a video scanner thing that takes your temp at he hostess area. They have a garage door opposite the bar that was open and our table was right next to it so we sort of got the best of both. The building was converted from an old church so the architecture is unique and it's quite large. There was a main floor, an upper floor, stairs going to a downstairs (not sure what was down there though), outdoor seating at street level AND a roof top seating area! I ordered a cocktail and the lobster ravioli special ($18) and my guest ordered a pizza ($14.25). My dish was supposed to be served in a vodka sauce but the sauce was broken (see photo). I still ate it though and it still tasted pretty good. My cocktail was pretty average. My guest had a draft beer and while I don't think he noticed, there was very clearly 2 different lipstick prints on this unchilled pint glass. *he was not wearing lipstick. He had the chicken, bacon, ranch pizza. It comes with breaded chicken cutlet, bacon, caramelized onions, cheese, BBQ sauce and ranch. It's 13" so it's good to share between two or for one person if you're really hungry. I tried a slice, it was good but did not see or taste any bacon. The crust isn't too thin or too thick, it was crispy and chewy but not burnt or dry. Very impressed. Our waitress was friendly and the service was good. I checked in on Yelp and got 10% off. She wasn't sure so she had to take my phone over to a manager to confirm and then kindly used the coupon on our check. Overall a good experience, issues with the food/drinkware were relatively minor. The staff seems nice but is quite unschooled in proper table service (someone asked what specifically: a cute but preoccupied hostess plopped a handful of silverware and napkins, strewing it across our table, with no comment, and darted off to confer with the other individual at the hostess station) . Saw that a restaurant was opening here back in August. Finally got a chance to go with a friend tonight. The restaurant is beautiful with the long table seating and Americana filling the room. Very contemporary look but not as loud or overwhelming as other new restaurants that have opened up. As for the food, there were at least 7-8 things on the menu I was debating between, everything looked so good from the wings to all the pizzas and appetizers too. Ended up with a bison burger. Great flavor, great steak fries, and it was cooked perfectly. They also bring out delicious baked bread and olive oil to start the meal, and they even let my friend bring some extra bread for her family. Friends of ours posted on FB that they recently went to this place and enjoyed it. We decided to give it a try and took the 45 minutes drive to get there. A busy, sunny, 57 degrees spring day. Crowded, but they put us on the waitlist, said it would be 20 to 30 minutes. We got called in about 20. We were seated inside (we asked for the first available) directly in front of the kitchen area. ATMOSPHERE: Charming and patriotic. Taphouse style. This is an old church and they have kept many of the arches, windows, etc. 2nd floor is accessed via a stairway near the back of the first-floor dining area. The bar to the left takes up that wall. Seating extends to the outside patio near the parking lot and upstairs. FOOD: We ordered: crab dip - very good. Served in a bread bowl - but while the idea is to cut and eat the bread bowl with the dip - some veggies (carrot and celery sticks maybe) would be nice. Texas BBQ Wings - they are charred on the open grill. Nicely done, crisp, and flavored just from the grill, then add the sticky-sweet-spicy bbq sauce - nice touch. Big wings, not the cheap little ones you get at some places. Served on a sizzling platter. Pan-Seared Teriyaki Salmon over garlic mashed potatoes with vegetables. My husband said it was plentiful - a large portion, cooked well with a nice, but not overpowering sweet sauce. The mashed potatoes were heavy, not a light whip, but flavorful. Veggie was steamed broccoli. Cajun Catfish with rice and veggie, served with mango salsa. The Catfish was cooked well, but the ends were a bit dark and hard. The seasoning was very good, with little burn factor that you might expect with an overdone cajun spice. The rice was simple which rice, nothing special. Steamed broccoli - steamed well, not mushy, but not hard either. The mango salad however was terrible due to the kitchen not knowing enough to not use unripe, rock-hard mangos. That could have been so much better with a bit of attention paid to the produce used. SERVICE In a word, terrible. Once seated it took a full 10 minutes before anyone even thought to ask if we were being helped. And we were right in front of the kitchen with people passing us! A woman asked if we were being helped, finally, I said no and she kept walking without another word. She came back out and passed by us again, followed a moment later by a young waitress. She took our drink orders and left. The first woman showed up 5 minutes later to ask for our drink order. We told her we ordered from the young lady, so she took our food order. And there we sat - another 8 minutes for drinks to arrive. Another 12 before appetizers came out. The runner literally took them from the service window, turned, took two steps, and put them on our table - it isn't like we were across the restaurant! We ordered bbq wings - no extra napkins were offered. I had to flag down the first (manager maybe) woman and ask for napkins - she barely grunted at me, then came back and dropped a stack of napkins on the far end of the table as she walked by. Halfway into our appetizers, the entrees show up! The runner gets all confused like we're supposed to stop eating those and dive in. He walks to the other side of the table and puts our plates down and walks away. By the time we finished appetizers, our mains were cooling considerably. No one ever asked us how things were if we liked it if we needed anything. My husband had ordered a beer, the mgr did swing by, grab his glass, and say "another beer?" I ordered the drink special - I even pointed at it - "Malibu Watermelon Mojito". I got a regular mojito. I was charged for a special, not a regular (wish I had noticed before we left, but I just wanted to get out of there) No one ever asked if I wanted a second. And here is the final kicker - 3% credit surcharge for paying with a card!!! Not kidding! Who the hell does that? Who pays with cash at restaurants nowadays? And why weren't they upfront about it? No signs, nothing on their website (which I scoured for the information) . BOTTOM LINE: Won't be back. Cool place, food is decent - but service and underhanded charging rules this place out for us. read more

We frequent Old Glory for lunch and dinner but recently I held my husbands 60th surprise party here and there are not enough words for how INCREDIBLE the experience was!! The service we received from planning to the end of the party is unlike service I have received at other events!!! The atmosphere is stunning and the food was amazing!!! The passed appetizers were hot and plentiful and the buffet was always full!! So after three attempts to eating at Old Glory, they were able to sit us right away. Previously there were 30 to 45 min waits. So getting a seat right away was positive. Great ambiance and from our table at the window, we were able to watch the country line dancers in the outdoor bar area. My wife and I started out with drinks: me a $2 dollar PBR, while my wife had a Hawaiian Joe Vodka drink. I took a sip and it was totally weak. For $9 a pop, you should smell the vodka when raising it to your mouth. Lol. The oven baked bread, out of this world. The melted butter helped. Orgasmic. Roasted clams apps. Ok. Clams small but the garlic juice added a nice flavor. So let's chat about the main courses. I read on yelp about the great reviews regarding the crabby Mac and Cheese ($18.00) so my wife ordered it. So disappointing. The portion size was rather large but she only found 2 - 3 chunks of crab inside. It was basically mac and cheese with a seafood flavor. My Memphis Ribs ($18.00) were delish but the fries, flat. They seemed dried out. Service was fine and the timing between courses perfect. It will be awhile before we go back and give it a second try. I've been to numerous places in NYC and paid $9.00 a drink. I dont mine paying for a good quality strong drink, but this Hawaiian Joe was a rip off. The crabby mac was a rip off as well. We came here on a Wednesday evening I believe, at the recommendation of our banker at Bank of American in Aberdeen. She couldn't stop raving about the specials that're offered, and vary evening to evening. So we came with my father and sister in-law! Our server could have been more attentive, as he forgot small items here and there- drinks, additional sides, as requested etc. On the other hand were very fond of the bread they brought to our table! This is actually a former church that has been converted to a really cool restaurant and venue. Try their wings, pasta, and short rib. Those were the standouts for me. One of our all-time favorites in the area for dinner and outstanding drinks. Love that they serve their draft beer very cold, which sounds odd but a lot of places don't. When the weather allows, they have a very nice two level outdoor seating area, and the indoor space is great as well. We've never been disappointed in a food order...wings are great, they are grilled not fried and are crispy charred and the sauces are really good. He was awesome, we knew him from Matawan HS, he was very attentive and a great help at helping us decide on drinks to have. Old Glory has a spacious outdoor seating area that offers full sun full shade and tables with umbrellas to choose from. The dining area and the inside ( what little you can see theses days) was very clean. We were told the start getting very busy at 4:30 but at 4 we had no problem getting a table for 2. We got a table right away but because we were kind of out of the way our server didn't realize we were seated until we were there a solid 10-15 minutes. We ordered a pitcher of Red Sangria to start with and even that took a while to get to our table. The Sangria itself was really good though. For food we ordered 3 appetizers, Buffalo wings, Thai Calamari and short rib sliders. The calamari was very tastey but just a touch chewy. The wings were fantastic and the buffalo sauce was sneaky spicy, not too hot up front but the heat builds up in your mouth. They are served with the usual blu cheese dip but also had very tastey blu cheese crumbles. The short rib sliders were good, I'd order them again but i won't be calling my friends to run over and try them. All in all a nice experience but some things could have been better. read more

My family was lucky enough to find this gem of a restaurant after going to Air Trampoline. Old Glory Kitchen setting is in a former church. The ambiance is really cool. It's a big open space with a DJ booth spinning all the greatest hits in the center of the space. The waitresses were very good and accommodating. We had a kids pizza, buffalo wings, Cesar salad with shrimp, and a bunch of drinks. The place serves mostly American food. We will be coming back here when in NJ. Thank you! read more

Got a table right away out of harms way with an impending storm. Good selection of beer and a great view. Manager offered us a round of drinks for moving outside for a party and once it started to pour immediately got us an indoor table for safety. Staff was friendly, fast and so accommodating. I went to old Glory a few days ago trying to support local businesses and what I witnessed at Old Glory was a disgraced. When I walked up to the takeout window I witnessed one of the managers screaming at the workers and throwing what looked like people's cellphones and Keyes and screaming at them as I waited for my order. I would not recommend anyone to go here if this is the way management treats there workers. I never felt more uncomfortable at a place then this and there is a right way to deal with workers and a wrong way and this was definitely the wrong way and I hope nobody supports a business like this. read more
