This place is so busy. They do not take reservations. You put in your name and they will call you once a table is available. There are speakers outside and in the general store. You should be able to hear your name anywhere outside. The chicken or pot pie is what is mostly ordered. We ordered 2 platters of chicken. One platter with 1 breast and 4 drumsticks. The second platter was 6 drumsticks. We also ordered a platter of catfish. You can't go wrong. The chicken was moist and delicious. The catfish was breaded and was good. We had green beans as a side. Also mashed potatoes. The platters included salad and soup. We will be back again.

Just three words of advise when visiting here... Show Up Hungry! This was a huge amount of food and every last bit of it was delicious. I got the country breakfast and managed to eat about half of it before I had to give up. Seriously worth the cost.

First we were sat at a table and after sitting for 10 minutes and 4 groups after us get taken care of we finally asked someone "did someone forget about us"? She was annoyed and she came back and said well I guess I'm your server we never have more than 4 tables at once you make 5. I said well I didn't do this to you regardless. She brought over a complimentary cup of soup that looked like vegetable pudding. Soup should not jiggle like pudding. My wife actually ordered soup and it had absolutely no flavor and no meat basically huge chunk of cabbage and a couple carrots. Now onto my club sandwich. First it looked pretty but my tomato was green so that had to come off, second the turkey had a funky smell to it and I was not brave enough to attempt to eat it. Ate a couple fries that also were not it. Just asked for my bill at this point was so over it and it wasn't expensive so just my losses. She asked if I wanted a to go box I laughed and said not this time thanks.

Of course we had to try the highly rated Old Mill Restaurant during a recent visit to the city! We were quoted a 45 mins wait but it was over an hour. We visited the store and water while we waited. The atmosphere definitely fits the city country vibe of Pigeon Forge. I had the chicken and dumplings which were so good. They came with green beans, mash potatoes, corn chowder and hush puppies which were also great. Our server was very friendly and made the experience even better. I can see why they are so highly rated! Everything was good!

This place is absolutely delicious! Don't let the pricing fool you because you get an abundance of food which includes a soup, salad, hush puppies, and dessert all included with your meal. Everything came relatively quickly and the food was steaming hot. We enjoyed our service and felt our needs were attended to. I'd absolutely would love to back here!

This was our first stop in Pigeon Forge and we had a great experience. There was a wait but it they seated people quickly. Our waiter was very nice and helpful when asking for dish recommendations. I had the turkey dinner meal and the cornbread dressing was amazing! The green beans were soggy and not flavorful but everything else we ordered was great. Other dishes enjoyed at the table were the boiled catfish and chicken and dumplings. The dumplings were really well flavored. Great spot for good ole southern comfort food.

So good came here 3 times. Everything from breakfast to dinner was amazing. The food is truly home made and high quality in every aspect. Everything tasted amazing and portions and huge. You definitely will not leave hungry of unsatisfied. The value for you money is best meal in pigeon forge as well.

We had heard a lot about the Old Mill and trying this out if visiting. Once pulling up and checking in this gave us the same vibes of St. Augustine. Very crowded when we arrived and were told a 30 minute wait but were called much quicker. The decor is amazing and the views depending what floor your on determine if you can view the river. The lower floors have those views. The service was good but definitely stretched so you may not see them often. The food was pretty good, you can tell this was scratch and made with care. Get here early if you want to try them out.

We love the Old Mill Restaurant. Probably our favorite in Pigeon Forge. Down home cooking at its best. It was extremely busy when we arrived but definitely worth the wait. As with any busy restaurant , it was loud, but it didn't bother us. Johnny was on the spot today. Our favorite server, Santiago, was only taking large tables according to the hostess who could have been kinder, but Johnny definitely filled his place well. The corn chowder was amazing as were the corn fritters. Piping hot. Husband ordered the Country Fried Chicken with the gravy on the side. Added Cole slaw. I had the Pot roast with slaw instead of green beans. Everything was incredibly delicious! Food was perfect and the service on point. Always worth the wait. No time wasted when you get food as great as this.

I have mixed feelings about this place and if I could rate it separately on the restaurant experience and the food, I would. I'll start with the positive - the food is better than expected. My catfish dinner was tasty and hot. Each meal comes with a variety of sides, corn fritters, salad, soup and dessert and everything exceeded my expectations as far as quality goes. The value is good and portions plentiful. We ended up taking my husbands entire chicken pot pie to go as we were already full by the time our entrees came out. The only disappointment food-wise was that they were out of banana pudding by time we ordered dessert, but the pecan pie was a great consolation. That said, the overall experience of this place is exactly what you'd expect from a touristy restaurant turning over hoards of people as quickly as possible. From beginning to end, it felt like I was eating at Disney World, from the Big Thunder Mountain-like queue (and hour plus wait) to the nondescript, somewhat dirty dining rooms. Our server was efficient and nice, but was obviously extremely busy, as were the dozens of others scurrying around with huge trays full of food. Overall, I'd average the food 4 stars with the experience 2 stars, for an overall 3 stars. It's not a place I'll itch to return to, but I wasn't sorry we went either.

Waited 1.25 hours to get in and it was so worth it. Hubby got the pot pie which was huge!! He also got the pecan pie for dessert which was delicious!! I got the turkey dinner which was absolutely delicious. Along with the fritters, soup, salad, green beans and mashed potatoes with our meal. My husband who doesn't even like turkey took a bite and said it was really good. Savannah was our server and she was attentive and answered all of our questions since this was the first time dining here. She's a gem. I got the chocolate cake for dessert and Savannah told me that it was really decadent. It was and I would have preferred getting the pecan pie. Dinner at Old Mill was fantastic! Highly recommend despite the wait. Can shop around the area or visit their store or do a tasting at their distillery while waiting.

Never have I really ventured outside of that and I couldn't actually tell you why. When my kids and I made a quick 1 day Dollywood trip over to Pigeon Forge, 23 we're looking for a place to eat prior to the big day at the park. What's funny is I relied in Googles AI (Gemini) to tell me where to go. I was driving around and was asking for recommendations. It said Mama's Farmhouse was a popular place to eat for families and it was all-you-can-eat. The kids wanted fried chicken and Salisbury steak, which was in the menu for that day. What a coincidence! If I could summarize it, this is basically a local Cracker Barrel-style restaurant but the food is a lot better. It's tucked away off of a side road off of the main highway 321 road and reminds me a lot of the Applebarn Restaurant down the road. The ambiance is this old timey feel, like many of the establishments around the area. The fried chicken (bone-in), chicken tenders, fries catfish, and Salisbury steak was what we ordered for our mains. Everything was delicious! The seasoning had the perfect amount of salt across all the dishes and sides. The chicken was juicy and tender. The Salisbury steak was solid, some of the best I've ever had. Savory, rich brown gravy, and tender chunks of beef. All the sides were amazing too, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, and chicken and dumplings. Honestly there wasn't a negative thing about this place. I would go back in a heartbeat!!

The online menu gave plenty of eye candy and we were absolutely starving by the time we arrived Friday evening. The staff was very attentive and kind. It's clear that this place is fully operated by word-of-mouth and return guests. It's a huge establishment with several rooms by big fireplaces and Lazy Susan's to pass around the family style meal. The menu was a little difficult to navigate so many options laid out, but only certain options available per day. So ultimately, we were not able to order exactly what we wanted, but we ordered what was available for Friday, which was the Salisbury steak, fried fish, and fried chicken. All of these meats came in a small portion to split amongst our three people, and with unlimited sides. Some of the sides were pretty impressive. I would have to say my favorite side was the broccoli casserole, followed by the mashed potatoes and gravy, which were real potatoes! The mac & cheese was more on the creamy side versus the gooey cheesy side. Unfortunately, some of our chicken was undercooked, and the skin was very thin and not too crispy. The fish was decent, not dried out whatsoever, which is a pretty good compliment. While my coworker said that the chicken and dumplings were her favorite, I failed to enjoy them :( All in all, this was not our favorite restaurant from our trip this weekend and it appears that big groups and big families really do enjoy dining at this establishment.

Gordon Ramsey would consider it a threat. As a chewy bacon lover and enthusiast, when my bacon came out charred and demented, i was appalled to say the least. I had to drench it in the white gravy so it would give my stomach the illusion of chewy. Even then, even with the request of chewy, i was let down. The home fries were exceptional.. as exceptional as any other home fry you'll get on the Pigeon Forge strip. And why? They'll all the same refrigerated chips of processed mess. Soggy, not even crisp. So poor you'd hope the microwave would add additional flavors from all the other food they microwaved. I wouldn't even praise the food if paid me, it's sad enough i paid IT to taste like wet squeaky boots. But anyways the atmosphere was just bewildering! They have a big exhibit with birds you can watch. Sometimes they're loud and a bit squawk-y but it doesn't deplete the experience. This is my internal conflict with a certain drink on the menu. The Monster. This satanic abomination soup of a beverage really tempted me. I drink energy drinks and was excited to try a Monster! I mean.. we're all a little adventurous deep down.. human nature! Wrong. Apparently.. With full fledged confidence.. as much as you'd expect at a busy bar playing BINGO.. I asked the waitress for a Monster energy drink. Big. Mistake. I get it.. I took an unsuspecting picture of the beast waiting.. opened it.. and took a sip. If you were to ask me, giving somebody a pedicure with your MOUTH would taste no different than a can of this monstrosity. Maybe I recommend the restaurant.. but I don't recommend the Monster. After coming back for a second visit, I can honestly say it still lived up to the experience we remembered. One of the best parts about this restaurant is the atmosphere. We were seated with an awesome view overlooking the outside area, which made lunch even more relaxing. The scenery and open feel of the location gave the whole meal a comfortable Southern vibe that fit perfectly with the food they serve. It also was not overly busy during lunch time, so everything felt calm and enjoyable instead of rushed. The service was quick from the moment we sat down. Our waitress was very attentive and stayed on top of making sure we had everything we needed. Drinks stayed filled, food came out quickly, and she made sure we were taken care of throughout the meal. As for the food, it was exactly what we hoped it would be. The green beans were honestly one of our favorite sides. They were full of flavor and tasted homemade. The fish was another standout for us. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and cooked just right. Everything we tried had that classic comfort food feeling that Paula Deen's Family Kitchen is known for. Coming back here during our honeymoon week made the experience even more special. It was nice returning to a place we already had good memories at and seeing that the food and service were still consistently great.
