We stopped here for breakfast this morning as we were traveling to Ashton, Idaho to continue our fishing trip. The restaurant was clean and the service was great. I had the chicken fried steak and eggs. The eggs were fresh, the steak was cooked well. I was very pleased with the food, and if you are in West Yellowstone, Montana it is worth stopping by. The price was good, and the portions were hearty.

Seated quickly and greeted with a smile! Good strong coffee! Biscuits and gravy were served hot and large! The French toast was delicious!! Prices are good for this area!!

The service was spectacular! The young servers are really knowledge and sweetly attentive. The food is diner food and tastes great. The prices are reasonable and portions generous. The decor is country and laid back. It's a highly recommend for the awesome service and food!

Breakfast burrito with steak (not deep fried)

Old Town Cafe was the last restaurant I ate at while staying in West Yellowstone. I decided to stop in for breakfast before leaving to drive down to Grand Teton. The breakfast items we had were okay. The pork steak was a bit too salty and the breakfast burrito (I asked for it to NOT be deep fried) was meh. The "salsa" it came with tasted more like Pace picante sauce. The portion sizes were well worth the price. Ideally, 2 people could split the breakfast burrito. The highlight of my time there was the friendliness of the bartender.

Nothing sounds better than a nice hot chicken fried steak with fresh country style gravy, sadly that's not what we got! More like Chicken Fried Strip. It was so chewy and tough. We also ordered the cheeseburger which is a pre-made patty, c'mon now! For those prices, you expect it to be hand made. The waffle fries were good or maybe I was just hungry. The chili was ok, nothing to rave about. Our server named Will was at least willing to replace the dish, but after one or two bites we were over it.

Pleasant ambiance and nice spacious interior. Missed brunch by a little bit, so had to opt for the lunch menu The waitress recommended the wraps and any of the burgers. We got the Old Town Burger and the BBQ Chicken Wrap. The burger was extremely well cooked and very tender & juicy, but definitely underseasoned (some salt and pepper shakers were already at the table). The wrap was decent and packed with crunchy lettuce, chicken, bacon bits, and cheese. However, the chicken was quite soggy and wasn't exactly "crispy". I wish the cheese could've been melted or something too. The wrap tasted very much like the individual parts, was quite dry, and definitely needed something else to help it go down (perhaps more sauce, because I barely was able to taste the BBQ flavor). Both dishes came with a healthy serving of waffle fries which were delicious

Great place to stop by on your way to or back from Yellow Stone. Located in the central part and with other shops, gas, markets near by. Food was amazing and service is super quick! Highly recommend to anyone passing by.

You are welcome in advance . . . SERVICE // service was atrocious. I want to believe it had nothing to do with my ethnicity. I want to believe it had everything to do with he just didn't give a shit about a party of two. But I will tell you the two larger parties that were all Caucasian including their children received outstanding service. They received their utensils wrapped in white little packages, their food came out hot and on time and before hours and we were seated before them. And wait till I get to the food that's an interesting mix. AMBIANCE // To put it simply there is none. FOOD // my friend ordered biscuits and gravy with white gravy with no sausage, scrambled a side of sausage accompanied with home fries. What he received was something entirely different. He received sausage and biscuit with white gravy with sausage crumbles in it, bacon, two eggs over hard, hash browns and some kind of weird corn mixture on the side. When we received our coffee we did not receive any utensils with to mix the creamer into the coffee. We tried numerous times to gain someone's attention and outside of getting up and walking into the kitchen and obtaining it myself. We did not receive it until the food arrived. Both plates were cold and his gravy and biscuits had solidified on top, anyone who's ever been in the food service business knows this is from sitting out too long. When we spoke with the individual who brought our food out he was extremely quick to pass the blame and said he has no idea what's going on but he's not our server and he would tell someone. Our server took a solid 12 minutes to come back to us and then wanted to argue with tableside with us. He admitted that the food was incorrect this was an order that went to the wrong table. CONCLUSION // in conclusion, I would never suggest anybody go here for any meal. They appeared very rushed very frantic and they are all about turning their tables and the money. They allowed us to sit at a dirty table for over 15 minutes not to mention they have no one checking anyone in so you basically check yourself in & seat yourself. There are far better places to receive a hot meal, friendly service and fresh food then to torture yourself with going to this place.

Waited half an hour to place our order. One of the steaks was so full of gristle it was inedible. Cheeseburger and fish and chips were good.

One of few venues that would take reservations of this size group. They have a good amount of indoor seating. We sat on the umbrellaed patio, near the musician, just around the corner of the bar from games like cornhole. They were busy, but service was attentive. Many of us had craft beers and cocktails. Everyone was pleased, but i could not list all the beverages for you. We had at least one yummy fresh arugula salad with sirloin cooked-to-order and a lot of flavorful bacon, blue cheese crumbles, green onion, tomatoes, balsamic glaze, and thick "Texas" toast. We shared a number of the many appetizers: Crispy-coated sweet-chili Thai Shrimp were rather small but quite tasty. The tray of nachos was a glorious mess of beans, sauces and crema, mixed melty cheeses, olives, and meat ... i think we got the rich ground "buffalo". The "buffalo balls" were even messier: meatballs in deep gravy over mashed potatoes smothered in sautéed onions and mushrooms. We had "chicken "bites" with two of their yummy flavorings. The soft pretzels and cheese were long thick almost-loaves. And i completely lost track of the mains: several of their loaded burgers and overloaded tacos. The star was the 12oz medium-rare ribeye, topped with herb butter & demi glacé, loaded garlic redskin mashed potatoes, & thick garlic toast. This was a great immersion in great food, drink, ant atmosphere. The $44 ribeye was one of the top-two steaks we had during our trip. (July 2026). Pro tip: every steak is town was good, even the bargains you can find with a little hunting. But be sure to pay a little more once or twice to get the best.

The photos looked amazing, so after we checked in, we drove a few blocks to the place. Parking is limited but we luckily scored a spot. Atmosphere is very cool, bar/restaurant like with sports playing on large TVs throughout. It was kind of warm in there...not sure if they had a working A/C or if it just couldn't keep up with the bodies inside. There was a wait to be seated but not too bad. Maybe 15 mins and the place was packed. We were seated at a bar-like table between the actual bar seating and tables. The waitress was nice and had personality but was a bit stressed out and a little testy after we asked about our food 30+ mins after ordering it. Even the drinks took a long time to be served. I finally gave up and ran to the restroom...of course the food came as soon as I left. It works that way a lot for me. lol The drinks were good - the food was pretty good. Prices are expensive here, but pretty much on par with the rest of the restaurants in town. It's a tourist town in high season and they all know it. We determined not to come back for the next day's meals based on the slow speed of service and try different places in town instead.

Mid-scale to up-scale dining. Excellent steak!…read more Three Bear Restaurant at the Lodge was a nice mid-scale to up-scale dining experience. The decor is modern rustic. We felt welcome and well-treated. The menu had some very nice offerings. From their cocktails, we enjoyed a couple of Montana Bucks, a bright sort-of-mule recipe made with smooth Sudden Wisdom Rye, lightly-sweet huckleberry purée, zingy ginger beer, and a dash of tart lime juice. And a huge, double-size Mammoth Manhattan, of nicely-flavored Wyoming Outryder Rye, deep flavors of both sweet & dry vermouth, bitey house-made bitters, and a rich Luxardo cherry. Both were yummy and well-crafted. The best beverage option: A flight of rye whiskies gave us local brands to compare with upscale brands. It was a good range of flavors, and we caught some nice local spirits. One-half ounce each of Michter's Single Barrel, Middle West Dark Pumpernickel, Willett 4 Year, and Wyoming Outryder The winners was Michter's, smooth with intense rye and some fire. Outryder caught our interest more than the other two. This leads us to a "flight" theory: We liked the local spirit that they also use in their craft cocktails! The New Zealand mussels were plump and fresh and well-dressed with grape tomatoes, scallions, wine and lemon. Jerk shrimp had flavorful heat. The Pear & Prosciutto Salad has lovely sweet fruit with thin but bold tender ham. Caesar with added salmon was classic, bright, and fresh. Bison Bourguignon was geneous al-dente pasta with tender sauced meat. The large-grain Cous Cous was rich with sun-dried tomatoes, tangy Kalamata olives, and roasted veggies. The best main dish: The $50 bison ribeye was tender, juicy, and perfectly medium-rare. It was flavorful, with a slightly more caramel note than a beef ribeye. This was one of the two best steaks we had in West Yellowstone. Everything was quite delicious! The restaurant was quiet and pretty.
