Fantastic restaurant not enough nice to say about the food! Delicious the corn brewed was sweet cast iron perfection!! I had the Cajun penne pasta flavor was great pasta was overdone. Everyone at the table loved their food, husband had the seafood platter. I had a cocktail with elderflower and champagne not a whisper of champagne to be found but it was strong and tasty. The service was a bit slow but the small restaurant was packed and everything we waited for was worth the wait. I searched yelp looking for dinner in my neighborhood. I came across OTI. Black Owned too? Yes, please! I drove the short drive to check it out. I really wanted to be amazed but from the moment I walked in, it just wasn't great. Food was really good, seasoned well and I'd definitely grab it to go! I ordered the Seafood Fettuccine, that id totally eat again! Cornbread( a huge round peice(way too much for one person and I would've appreciated the tip), Ribs, and Crab stuffed salmon. My family and I really enjoyed the food. The service on the other hand was horrible. I always tip in the service industry so my waiter still recieved one, however I would not dine in an establishment that initially served my food in Togo boxes and opened my containers multiple times during a pandemic. I was left waiting a few times, without being checked on, had to offer a few reminders about condiments i asked for, and it seemed that the waiter would rather have conversations about football, than take my order (That was annoying). The drinks were really good, the food tasty, but if I tried this restaurant again it would only be for takeout. I saw quite a few people do that, ill definitely take their advice. The restaurant is small. I mention the restaurant size because it will help you understand my frustrations. The staff never checks on you and always forgets something like silverware, sugar and cream for you coffee or even when you order an extra side you get it a few minutes before or after you get your food. Which means something will definitely be cool or warm not hot. There has been times that I've sat 6 feet away from where the servers " hand out' at and I still can't get my servers eye contact. Yes I said hang out. They gather at the end of the bar with the manager and talk, not check on the customers. The food is why I deal with the shenanigans with the staff. The food is always perfect. I can't emphasize enough! The food is always perfectly prepared no matter if you get it hot or warm it's does taste good. But I do prefer to get my food hot. If I could give a -0, I would... For about 1 year now, a few friends of mines and clients have been talking about OTI. I've never been, so naturally I wanted to visit the restaurant. A good girlfriend of mines and I had just come from a baby shower and it was still early out. Neither of us had any other plans for the remainder of the evening, so I decided that I'll give OTI a try for the first time. We arrive at the restaurant and walked directly to the bar. It took about 5mins for any of the staff to acknowledge us (it wasn't busy nor crowded). When done so, our waitress wasn't exactly welcoming, but whatever...We ordered a couple of drinks and an appetizer. Shortly before we received the appetizer I noticed something small crawling on the bar from the corner of my eye. I turned to get a full look only to see that it was a ROACH!!! I was totally disgusted at this point. Both my friend and I took pics of it before it could run off. We showed our waitress and of course she act as if she were surprised. My friend told her that we no longer wanted the food or drinks. She then, walked back to her manager to tell him what we have seen. I've been to OTI many times and dealt with subpar service because the food is usually good, but yesterday both the food and service were questionsble. First, I was there with my boyfriend and his food came out at least 10 minutes before mine. The restaurant was not busy so we couldn't figure why they couldn't time or food to come out together. He ordered the shrimp basket. For $18.95 he got 4 overcooked shrimp and less waffle fries than a small order at Chik-fil-a. He didn't say anything about it until the table next to us recieved triple his portion of fries. The waiter went to talk to someone and came back to tell us we would need to put an order for additional fries. My food, the pecan trout, was good. The restaurant is small so we really couldn't figure out why it was so hard to get a hold of our waiter. Or why when he served food with no utensils and when we asked for some, why it took him so long to return. Or why it was so hard to refill our water. Or to check on us. Decided at the last minute to go to brunch so we were surprised to get a table right away. The staff were polite and took good care of us. Prior to ordering we checked out all of the plates of food going by and it all looked so delicious. We were just looking for a simple breakfast which is what we ordered. The omelette with mushrooms, spinach and cheese looked as good as it tasted. The home fries were tiny potatoes which didn't hold heat well. The pancakes looked exactly as they tasted. They were flat and dry. They did not hold heat well and resembled a crepe more than a pancake. Because of the size there was no taste to them at all. It was like they were deflated. The waitresses was nice enough to remove them from our bill. I wanted to add green peppers to my omelette but they were out of green peppers. I also asked for unsweetened iced tea which they were out of all tea as well. I would definitely go again but avoid the pancakes. I've been ignored by staff every single time I've patronized this business. It's like they don't want to be bothered with the business they're involved in. They regularly run out of key ingredients for their dishes. A bleu cheese salad with no bleu cheese crumbles. I've been given honey mustard (YUCK) instead of vinaigrette for my salad (YUCK). How do you mistake those? You just don't care. I'm good off that. Not too much more to say, but if you'd like a pleasant dining experience, avoid coming here like it's nobody's business. *sighs* Service is ridiculously slow. I met a prospective client there and we damn near had to tackle our server when she passed by (which seemed like every 10 min, but I'm certain I'm exaggerating a bit out of frustration). The client is a regular there and he said "it's always like this"... sooo.... . Despite being there at 12 noon, it wasn't particularly busy so I couldn't understand WHY we had to ask for silverware.... then wait almost 15 min for drinks.... then another 15 min for the appetizer... then another 15 min for the entree. Our meeting was only an hour so we ended up taking our entrees to go since TIME WAS UP. Luckily I was efficient with our time and signed the deal. The "calamari" was nothing more that a giant mass of fried dough. That's my punishment for giving this place a shot "outside the box"... .. Pull the breading off and there was but mere strands of anything that approached squid. Squid strands is all I saw. Squid threads. Squid remnants. Next time, just order buffalo wings, I said to myself. The salmon club sandwich is something I ordered when I was here last -- about 4 years ago, so no risk there. Drinks were decent, nothing spectacular... and they should be considering I ordered TWO Long Island Ice Teas. Client ordered a salmon caesar salad which looked good. The interior is inviting and fairly spacious with a nice bar and omnipresent flat screens similar places all have.... But these folks gotta work on service SPEED and the menu. Bathrooms are clean. Went in on a Saturday evening around 7:30. The place is pretty small and can't accommodate but so many. Wait was about 25-30 mins. However, we were seated after waiting about 10-15 mins. Waitress came to the table, took our drink orders and then later returned to take our food orders. We placed our orders and waited. I ordered the stuffed salmon and my friend the crab cakes. After about 10 mins, someone came to the table and said they were out of crab cakes. My friend ended up getting the stuffed salmon as well but requested it blackened. Our waitress came back by and asked if we wanted refills but never returned. After waiting a good bit and wondering where our refills were, someone brought our food to the table. There were sprinkles of crabmeat on the salmon and that was it. The salmon came with mashed potatoes and broccoli as a side. Despite the lack of being "stuffed" everything was good and pretty well seasoned. My friends salmon was blackened at all. Overall I wasn't too happy about the service. As I mentioned, the waitress disappeared and never came back...until it was time to pay the bill. Not sure what was going on with her. Small little black owned restaurant in Upper Marlboro. I am never out here for anything but was going to a show nearby and decided to stop here for dinner. The service was fine and the atmosphere was whatever you needed it to be. There is a bar so a few individuals were sitting there eating and drinking. A few people came in for takeout and almost every table was taken when we arrived. We were seated at the last table open. The menu is mostly seafood and soul food. I chose the crab stuffed salmon but didn't order a drink (had to drive). Overall the food was really delicious. I was confused about the timing of the cooking because half my green beans were room temperature, the salmon and mashed potatoes were piping hot and the crab on top was cold. There were three different temperatures on my one plate. Luckily for the cooks the food was pretty damn tasty! The stuffing stuff was like a flavor packet of awesomeness and I devoured the whole plate. This is a great place to go if you want an inexpensive delicious "home-cooked" Sunday dinner! read more

Several years ago the Olde Towne Inn arrived in Prince George's County presenting a ray of hope for good food. The staff was friendly and the food was good throughout the menu. I am uncertain of the reason; but a recent visit to the restaurant was extremely disappointing. Food was not only poorly prepared, it was old. I ordered green beans that was covered in an awful almond sauce; but more importantly the vegetable should have should have been thrown in the trash. Mashed potatoes were mushy watery and overly seasoned with garlic salt. Fettuccine Chicken Alfredo was a God awful disaster. The sauce tasted as if it came from a grocery store container. The chicken was overcooked and was all lumped together with no rhyme or reason. Caesar salads are very easy to make. The one I purchased contained old lettuce too few croutons and awful dressing. Salmon was covered with the same awful almond sauce that covered the green beans. It was way past its expiration date and should have never ever been served. Hopefully the current mess can be corrected or I shall stop returning. read more

Although we haven't been for a while, It's still well worth the extra few minutes it takes to leave DC to come there. When we got there it was full-blown lunchtime and the only server was Missy. Missy has it going on. From being the bartender to the only server there, she never missed a beat. Missy was professional, personable, totally attentive to every persons need in there. She acknowledged everyone that came in. She directed them when she couldn't to an empty table or booth and she made a beeline of coming to you just to say give me a minute I'll be right with you. Missy made everyone feel comfortable and it's obvious they're regulars that come there. Missy is on point with a quick conversation or full-blown how are you doing and how was your day? The food is still good, hot and plentiful. I highly recommend The Inn. It's a gem and with great service it'll remain one. read more

Old Towne Inn is a great local fave! The food is always good and Farrah makes the best drinks. I always call this place my "Regal Beagle" if you ever watched Three's Company. You will always see a friendly face in this place and you are in the heart of Old Upper Marlboro located on Main Street right near the Courthouse. My fave is the Seafood Pasta but the brunch food on Sunday is always a hit too. My only piece of advice is be sure you have some time to wait because the service can be slow here at times. If you enjoy going to a restaurant that has the most unprofessional, rude, disrespectful and down right idiotic person for a owner/chef, than this is the place for you. I on the other hand, choose to stay away from classless venues like this. I had the displeasure of attending a private party at this establishment yesterday and it was insane. My friend planned this party weeks in advance and the day of the event the owner/chef lost her menu. Who does that? He couldn't remember the time of the event, the food was served late, allowing other people to come in and be seated while the party was going on and several other major glitches occurred during the course of the evening. He jacked up the prices for the drinks at the bar and the staff wasn't attentive. The icing on the cake was when he approached my friend in an aggressive manor after the party was wrapping up. He yelled, screamed, insulted, cursed and called her and the other guests every name in the book, except for a child of GOD. He literally was about to hit her until guests from the party broke it up. Needless to say, the night ended with a police call made to contain the OWNER. Yes, you read it right...the owner/chef was outside fighting with the people that just paid him thousands of dollars at his establishment. Now that is some hood mess right there! My friend never raised her voice, called him a name or dumbed it down to his level. She kept it classy, mature and educated...that's how she and all of her guests rolls! It was like something went off in his head and he just got irate all of a sudden. He not only needs anger management classes, he needs to attend some classes on how to treat a woman. Above all, he needs JESUS! My friend chose this place because it's a black owned establishment and she thought it would be the perfect venue for her party. WRONG! It's a shame that a birthday party for a dear friend had to end in such a despicable manner. Customer service is the worst...we visted this place for my bday and when we arrived - we stood near a sign that said " please wait to be seated -- there was one waitress working and there were places to sit - after waiting for almost 15 min and watching this waitress service everyone - never even acknowledged us...finally she came over and said there would be a 40 min wait due to social distancing - i think she didnt want to service anymore people because she was working alone - its sad because as african Americans we wanted to support another black owned business but once we failed big time in customer service - it goes a long way.... read more

I really wanted to come here based on the reviews as well as just in the interest of supporting local small businesses. The owner is visible and checks on customers, which is a nice touch. Restaurant has a very small yet intimate environment. It's like Cheers with a modern/upscale twist. There's no nice way to comment on some of the negatives. The service wasn't the greatest and the wait staff appeared disinterested often times. My particular waiter was ok but didn't offer feedback on the dishes. The food itself had its ups and downs. The homemade fruit punch was very non-traditional and kinda bitter. The shrimp were huge and really good. Mashed potatoes were really good as well. Dinner veggies (green beans and carrots) were not memorable. My absolute BIGGEST issue I had was with the fish I was served. I was given rainbow trout, which from a taste standpoint was good. The portion size was HUGE. Problem is there were TONS of little bones in the fish. I'm no seafood expert but I think they are supposed to be deboned before serving?? It made the whole fish inedible because there were simply too many of these small bones in the fish. I'm hoping this is a rare misstep and I plan on visiting again in the future so that I can offer an update! read more

Let's get the bad stuff out first. Dinner was served in to go containers, which, on balance, is not terrible, since we ended up taking some of it home anyway. Now for the meat and potatoes, well, not literally, since we had seafood. The service was off the chain. The server was so attentive, I asked him if he had a proprietary interest. He said, no, but he was taught to treat every workplace as if it were his. He did. The food was excellent and served promptly. The place had a "Cheers" ambiance, and it turns out that it is in fact a neighborhood "Cheers". I live quite a distance away, but I wanted to show support for a black owned restaurant. The bartenders stir up stuff that have you nodding in agreement for no real reason at all. And the food and customer service is GReat! Way better than I would have expected. Word is, they got the old chef from Stone Fish Grill (Capital BLVD)aka D.C.Donnell, and with him came all of his tasty recipes including the grilled mahi mahi dripping with a spicy red sauce and baby shrimp with steamed green beans and rice. The buffalo wings are fried hard with sauce on the side and did not disappoint. There's plenty of street parking.
