Having been a GM at a Mexican Restaurant here in Tucson, and now retired, I am appalled at the service we received. Ernie, your front end staff needs trained or fired. We called ahead and then waited the prescribed 25 minutes before asking at the front for our pickup order. The young lady, petite. long black hair in a pony tail, glasses, was nothing but UNHELPFUL, Conceited, Snobbish, and you get the drift I am sure. She said it would be a bit. Then left several of us standing there. At one point, a group came in and the customer said, she had just talked to someone, and was told you had no wait time. Your employee proceeded to tell her it would be an hour wait. I butted in and told her they told me 25 minutes and it had been 50. Not sure what needs to happen, but perhaps having a Manager do some training would be great. Also, the food was just meh! Not sure if your food (beans and rice) are that good for the price, and the wait, if we are going to be treated like that. read more

The olè burro was a hit!! The taco salad was amazing although it had onions but no bean paste/ refried beans. Great atmosphere staff was polite. The noise level was not irritating. I had a walk in Togo order for three. While waiting for my order. I was not bothered, or questioned in any way. Chips or water would had been a nice offer, but no. Wish they had a table for those that come in to order. I stood awkwardly, looking around for a bit. Finally just pulled out a chair from a nearby table and sat down to wait for my order. So my hubby and I with my 9 month old went last night . Server was amazing. The pros: All the staff was really nice . All the chips and salsa you could want but that was 2 blows and I was full lol . Clean highchair . The place was nice and clean and not load . That have a really good steak fajita salad. The steak is a really good cut we had no fat on any of our steak. We got the quesadillas for an appetizer and it comes with four large quesadillas which was really good. The cons: When I asked for salsa like a sauce like red or green the waitress said they didn't have any all they had was salsa that you dip chips in. Which I thought was weird because at least have a green or red but she said they didn't. My husband ordered the burrito and it was just a tortilla with meat it had no lettuce no pico I mean it did have beans and rice on the side but he was really shocked that it was just a dry burrito and what you pay for it you kind of expect a little bit more than that. Tried Ole today for the first time. Reviews were mixed, so we decided to try it for ourselves. The place is colorful, seating is adequate and there's an outside dining area. Service was quick. Chips and salsa were fairly good...not great. The food, unfortunately, was very bland. We had fish tacos, which thankfully had a very generous piece of fish in each. But the tacos really didn't have any taste - how about some type of sauce, cilantro or a lime wedge...something! The rice and beans were also very bland. Rice had nothing in it except white rice with tomato sauce stirred in. Beans had no taste at all. If you like super mild Mexican food, then this is your place. We don't plan to go back. I went with my 89-year old mom after a long drive because we had to be rerouted to Cortaro cause we missed Ruthrauff and Orange Grove and Ina were closed. It was my 2nd visit there after really liking the first visit. The minute we walked in we had to sit because my elderly mom is disabled and walks with a cane and can't stand long. There was no hostess so we sat ourselves. I guess she didn't like it by the dirty look on her face so when she came to give us the menus she threw them at us, literally, angrily threw them hard at us on the table and they almost flew off and hit my mom. Then she stormed off before we could say anything. She was a young, petite, Hispanic girl with dark, long hair. We were snapped out of it by our blonde waitress who came up and asked for our drink order. We were still in shock and didn't mention the young girl plus, we were tired and hot. So, this waitress then proceeded to take our order but she seemed irritated and impatient with my elderly mom. I was getting really annoyed and would have left if my mom wasn't so hungry. She just had surgery a few days prior and needed to eat cause she was feeling a little weak too. The food is excellent but the service is horrible and not sure if I will be back and warning family and friends. No one should be treated like that. read more

Not bad... the toritos were amaze balls. Taquitos were good too. Tacos are average, tamales weren't that great.

With talking with my husband we both agree that the food here is just okay.... It's not bad and it's not great. We live very close to Ole so that is the main reason we have repeated going. Today I ordered the chili relleno meal. I swear they were frozen store bought ones. The batter was gross. I also had the bean tostada which was yummy. My husband had the mole poblano chicken enchilada. He thought it needed more sauce and that it was just okay. We have always had great service and the food does come out fast. I just love Ole. Very friendly staff with a wide range of choices on the menu, my favorite is the Pan Fired Taco. I get the plate which comes with two tacos beans and rice. It has a great mixture of shredded beef and potatoes with a perfectly fried shell. I love refried beans and am not always happy with the texture. Ole's is perfect. Their rice is great too - and it doesn't have all those silly added vegetables that are only added for color and not taste. My husband found out that they actually serve Chili but it was not on the menu. He tried it and loved it. A great place for Mexican food. read more

There were 5 of us. Our waitress was very surly from the beginning. 3 meals came and the other 2 people sat there waiting at least 15 minutes. We didn't see our waitress anyplace. Finally flagged down someone else and the remaining plates arrived about 5 minutes after that. We never saw our waitress again. Don't waste your money or time on this place. I ordered a simple 2 tacos with rice and NO beans. And I wanted queso with chips but they wanted to charge me $10 for the damn cheese which was outrageous so I said no. Then when I got my food, I got my two tacos with all beans what the hell??!! It's a simple order two items and they can't get it right! It taste like nothing too. No flavor in the meat! So bottom line don't eat here!! read more

The food was average at best. The meat on my plate was tough and quite salty. The meal offered a side dish and i chose 2 minie Chimis, which were quite dry and is asked the server for a bit of red sauce for them. When we finally got the check, it contained a charge of $2.00 for a VERY small bowl of suace. It was much smaller that the bland "Salsa?" that we had. I had to corner the girl at the cash register to tell her how bad it was, as she said absolutely NOTHING when we paid. Her reply; "Oh, i'll let them know" Very professional...cough I have had better meals at Chuy's, which is a bit less expensive and the portions are larger. I think he was new since he told us my enchilada plate came with sour cream, which 99% of restaurants in Tucson usually charge an extra buck or two for. Do not get food to go -they charge you for salsa! We typically dine in but tonight I ordered 3 meals to go. When I went to pick it up, a 4oz salsa was included with the chips. When asked for salsa for the meals they wanted to charge me as salsa is not included with Togo meals. Salsa is cheap to make. Never have I been charged for salsa with my to go meals..... Who wants to pay an extra $4.75 for salsa when it should be included. Glad there is lots of choices for Mexican food. read more

Order food and was told it would be ready in 20m. Have them 30m since I knew it would be busy do to the holiday but when getting to the Restaurant the food was still not ready and was told on this day was made on my order. Waited another 30 minutes and still my order was not ready and apparently was given to the wrong customer who had to drive back to return the order. It also didn't help that the customer service was awful they were not friendly at all and one of my orders (churros) were still wrong ! One chorros was split in half and they did not give me that ice cream that came with it. Unfortunately it's not the first time having this kind of experience at this place so I will no longer be getting food from here . read more

This place is standard-fare Mexican food. I got the Chicken mole enchiladas, which were pretty good and came with rice and beans. My wife got the chiles rellenos, which were decent. In another city, this might get 4 stars, but this is Tucson -- there's no need to settle for decent Mexican when you can get some of the best in the US. I have heard good things, so, went there with my kids and wife for dinner. My steak fajita was awesome, but, we got the kids each a plain cheese quesedilla and they charged us $9.50 each!!! What a JOKE.. And, the ONE Corona I got was $5. The service was so-so, but, we will NOT be back. Common sense guys.
