Esteban was our server and he was so attentive and knowledgeable he made the experience even better. Evangelist was the hostess and she was spectacular and really checked in several times. Impressive. The bread with olive oil and balsamic was a teaser...fresh bread and high quality ingredients. We started with the trecolori salad and the caprese both of which were fresh and well prepared with super fresh ingredients. The pastas were awesome and each was unique in taste and texture. The capellini was freshens full of tomato and had a nice balance of the acid and flavor. The carbonara was intense but what made the dish spectacular was the al dente pasta in the shape of calamari.... the seafood pasta was equally tasty and the crab added a flavor that was intense but ultra flavorful The tar it was the entree snd was shared. The two times I've been to Santa Barbara, I've eaten at this place. Service and food never disappoint! The pasta here is out of this world. Always ask for their specials! They change things up which is exciting. Very romantic ambience, great service and the worlds best cannolis you'll ever have. They're not always on the menu but you need to ask for them! Living in LA, I haven't had good cannolis in about 6 years and these were perfectly toasted and creamy with a touch of chocolate drizzle and pistachio. Highly highly recommend this place! Reliably perfect. Went for a weekday meal with a friend and enjoyed a lovely Margerum white paired with the appetizer special of whisper thin sweet cantaloupe and salty proscuitto. The meal was so wonderful that I forgot to photograph the rest! Soup special was perfectly balanced, fresh pasta with a memorably yummy cream sauce, and a creamy panna cotta to finish. Glad we weren't sitting at the table directly in front of the bathroom, because we saw how awkward it was for both the diners and those entering/exiting the bathroom. Our waitress took our dinner order, never brought the wine I ordered. She also didn't bother to mention any specials of the evening. We did overhear her telling our neighboring table about them though. After receiving our food and realizing how mediocre it was, we asked for the check and got out of there. Came here for parents weekend while visiting my daughter and her roommates at UCSB. I liked the setting, it's a quaint Italian restaurant with a nice simple/elegant décor. I suggest making reservations as this place is popular and gets crowded. Your experience will start with olive oil and bread which was very good. In addition, their wine selection was very satisfying, although I did not partake. I got the duck ravioli, which had a super rich sauce, I found the flavor to be really fantastic, totally happy with my selection. Our table of 9 all were very satisfied with their food decisions based on their smiles and empty plates. I found the service to be just OKAY. The food pacing was off, I suspect they forgot someone in our group as one of the plates came out noticeably late. Aside from that snafu, I sat with an empty water glass for long spells and had to ask for more on a few occasions. Everything was so good about this place!! The food was great...the service was spot on. The hostess even moved my party to a better table because she felt we needed to be sitting near the wine case in the front of the restaurant. The staff was on point with the service throughout the entire night. From seating to the check we were waited on as if we had just sat down. The have outdoor and indoor seating which is lovely too. They were extremely friendly and helped me decide what to order to meet my need. If you're looking for great Italian food after walking State Street, this is the place! We waited about 30 minutes on a Tuesday night to be seated outside. We were greeted by several employees who set us up with a fresh tablecloth and a candle, and took our drink orders immediately. The fresh bread with olive oil and vinegar helped tide us over until the "real" food arrived. We ordered the soup of the day, which was DELICIOUS. I want to say it was roasted squash soup, completely vegan, is what they told us. We wouldn't have guessed, it was so creamy and delightful! We also ordered the duck ravioli with mushroom sauce. That was amazing as well! I'll tell you, it looks a wee bit unappetising but it tasted great! We ended with the veal and that probably was our best choice. Went here as a surprise from my boyfriend on December 10th of 2023 and this place did not disappoint! They have beautiful decor for their indoor and outdoor seating. It is also very classy and elegant. This place also has amazing service, our waiter was very polite and helpful when helping us decide what to have. Although price-wise, it is more on the higher end, it is more than worth it! I ended up getting the Fettuccine con Spugnole e Asparagi. I substituted the ribbon pasta for fettuccine pasta. It was very rich in flavor and creamy! My boyfriend got the Ravioli d'Anatra ai Funghi Porcini, which was also rich in flavor and creamy, the taste was exquisite! For the end we got the Crostata di Pere al Caramello dessert and it was just the right amount of sweetness. I will be coming back sometime in the future again! read more

I have been to this restaurant twice and it did not disappoint both times. We were having this time a business dinner and had a rather extensive menu for our choices. I had a crabcake to start and it felt very fresh with the accompanying minced tomatoes and garlic. The sauces were not mayo based which is a good thing as these cakes are served traditionally with a rémoulade sauce. The flavors of the grilled branzino were similarly fresh and the whole dish felt light enhanced by the piccata sauce . The roasted quail stuffed with Italian sausage was tender and flavorful. The deserts ( lemon and pear tart)were good , not very sophisticated but again , that's not the aim of this restaurant. Booked a table for two to celebrate an anniversary. Although Open Table had earlier openings, I opted to wait for a later seating at 7:45 pm for outdoor seating on a Friday evening. Our table was ready for us at the appointed time. The restaurant had set up many canopies to accommodate the outdoor tables for groups of twos and fours. We were seated in front of their Italian market storefront with Italian food imports adorning the store windows. Food ordered for the evening: Carpaccio di Perre Bella Elena - Thinly sliced pears with Baby Greens, Gorgonzola, Walnuts with Olio Limone dressing . We loved this salad! 5/5 Branzino with a side of potatoes and roasted vegetables: I chose to have it deboned. Very good and moist fish. I couldn't stop eating the perfectly roasted potatoes and vegetables though. 5/5 Linguine allo Scoglio: Seafood linguine in a perfectly balanced spicy tomato sauce. 5/5 We ate so much that there wasn't room for dessert. I recently held my wedding reception lunch here after getting married at the courthouse. The customer service was excellent from the moment I inquired about the private room. All of the details were very clear, they quickly answered any questions I had, and they were very accommodating. Man, just when I thought that I couldn't possibly find a stuffier restaurant in town, I walked into this place with some visiting family. It is deafeningly quiet in there and we felt as if we were the low brow guests sitting on the outskirts of a wedding reception that invited us out of obligation. If it wasn't for the psychedelic mushrooms we would have had an awful time. Pros: The beef carpaccio was better than Ca' Dario's. I'm afraid this visit to Olio e Limone was a big disappointment. I don't go there often, but often enough to know that usually the food, service and ambiance is amongst the best in Santa Barbara. Their prices are on the higher side for town, so hence why I don't go there too often. But on this occasion the service was appalling! We had to ask three times to get wine. Then, after being ignored for 30 minutes, we had to call over the busboy to ask him to please get our waiter to take our order! They knew we were going to the theater, and still procrastinated to the point that we were worried that we would have enough time to eat our meal! Once the food came, it was sort of mediocre. One friend ordered the special peach and buffola mozarella salad. The peaches were not ripe and only a half peach for a salad costing $14!!! I ordered the veal scallopini with artichokes. It was nice, but only luke-warm. Such a shame. And the roasted potatoes had obviously been sitting in a warmer for a long time. They looked great, but were soggy and obviously cooked a long time before serving. We had to wait a long time for our bill, and when it finally came, had to sprint down State Street to the Lobero for our concert. All in all, not a good experience. We started with the caprese appetizer-tomatoes soft over ripe and tasteless as well as the mozzarella and dressing. Main courses- warm seafood salad terrible, mussels small and over cooked as well as the chicken Marsala which lacked any sauce and so tough that cutting it with a steak knife was difficult. We went there for our civil wedding and we had a great experience! They have been kind enough to wait for us even if they were about to close and we were late because of a delay at the courthouse. The atmosphere was great, private and elegant. Food was good (we are picky Italians, but we weren't disappointed) We had a Vermentino and it was good.
