Service was great, and the food came out very quickly. I really enjoyed the soup, bread, Fettuccine Alfredo, and shrimp appetizer. The only downside was that the salad didn't taste very fresh. However, when we entered the restaurant, there was an unpleasant smell -- I've noticed the same smell at other Olive Garden locations too, and I'm not sure what it is.

Stopped in for dinner with some friends, two of us at the table got the never ending pasta. I am not sure why this come with a side but... I got the soup and my buddy got the salad. You would expect a small side salad, nope they brought the big bowl. After we put in our orders it did take forever to get our meal. You almost need to just order your second dish as soon as the first one arrives. The food was absolutely delicious and is why it got 4 stars. After our food came our server checked on us once and then disappeared. The two of us that got the endless pasta had empty bowls in front of us for a good 5+ min before she finally came and check on us.

Abigail was our server on this trip and she was delightful. Very helpful and attentive. For 6pm on weeknight, it was very busy and very noisy (lots of kids), but the food and service was good as usual. I ordered the seasonal special, Calabrian Steak and Shrimp Bucatini. While spicy, I didn't get any of the familiar Italian flavor profile I have come to expect from Italian based dishes. I did enjoy it and have no other critiques of the meal. I also enjoyed the Watermelon Muscato Sangria. Another great evening at Olive Garden.

The young lady that staid after being cut was wonderful. Che requested a special area for us. And she waited onus as well. Best service ever, we will be back.

I have not been to Olive Garden in ages. There is not in Lawrence, KS where I live so it requires a drive out of town. The occasion presented itself to go with several friends so off to Kansas City I went. After some intense discussion about which restaurant to patronize, Olive Garden got the final vote because my friend liked their soup. Lol Soup on a scorching summer day was not on my mind, however. There were too many other dishes to enjoy. The menu is extensive and they have all sorts of fare to sample. I waffled between the chicken carbonara and the chicken marsala got the final vote. It was superb. The chicken was so incredibly tender and moist. It was a huge portion but I wanted more. It was so good, I might even travel back to KC just for this dish. It was my friends birthday and they brought her a chocolate lasagna that we shared. It was delicious but oh-so-rich. There is no way someone could eat a piece without serious repercussions. Lol. Totally decadent. Everyone in my party enjoyed their food. There was the traditional salad and breadsticks which we also enjoyed. I had completely forgotten how truly good the breadsticks are at the restaurant. Simply delicious. The decor was lovely and classy. This is a huge restaurant and nicely decorated. There is an ample parking and this restaurant is easy to access. Interior and exterior were nicely done. All the staff seemed super nice and accommodating. Our servers were great and very professional. One nice touch was they brought out to-go containers before we even asked. Portion sizes are more-than generous! The only negative that I noticed is that it seemed a wee bit high. I thought things were somewhat pricey. Yes, there was a lot of food but it seemed that every dish was at least $20. That's not bad for the quality and amount you get, though. I think I just had sticker shock at first. Great evening, terrific food, lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended but bring your wallet. Lol

The Moderno salad -- with cherries, cured beef, pine nuts, and goat cheese -- was flavorful, though the espresso vinaigrette unfortunately tasted more like straight vinegar than espresso. I had the short rib bolognese and it was absolutely delicious. Others at the table ordered the Funghi pasta with creamy white sauce, which was good but could have used a bit more mushroom flavor. The Toscana chicken breast (bone-in) with sun-dried tomato sauce had that perfect "marry me" flavor -- rich and satisfying. For dessert, we had the Plate chocolate cake with raspberry and pistachios. It was a huge slice, with a rich chocolate flavor. So why not five stars? Despite having reservations, we were seated right by the kitchen where servers pick up food. Made more annoying because the restaurant had a lot of empty booths and tables in the main dining room. The upside was that the pizza ovens kept us warm, but it wasn't the most relaxing spot. There were also a couple billing issues: the tip was calculated on the post-tax total rather than pre-tax. Also our prix fixe dinners included dessert and we opted to upgrade to a different dessert from the menu. Oddly the up-charge was $6, even though the menu price difference was only $3. That said, Plate offers delicious, well-priced food (though the drinks are on the expensive side), and it's still a great choice for Italian food in Kansas City

Food-wise, I had the Spaghetti & Wagyu Beef Meatball, and our table also got the lasagna and chicken parm. Everything was good and everyone was happy, but for the price (about double most other Italian chains), nobody was really blown away... until dessert. Between the crème brûlée and tiramisu, the entire table agreed that was the standout part of the meal. They were slammed when we went and we had a few service changes because of the rush. Getting drinks and putting our order in took longer than usual, but once we had a consistent server, it was all good. Busy nights happen. They also did a solid job keeping everything clean even during the chaos, and the restaurant itself is really beautiful. I'll be back, but I'm probably coming back just for the crème brûlée. The food was good, it just felt pricey for not having anything that really stood out in portion or flavor for my whole family. I had multiple family members in my party who've eaten here a lot tell me it tastes noticeably different than it used to. They said they've mentioned it to management before and were told changes were made to cut costs, and honestly, it shows in quality unfortunately. They don't plan to come back because of that, but I'll happily return for dessert.

I had the vodka rigatoni with an Italian sausage, and my husband had the manicotti. I don't have words suffice enough to share the taste and how filling this was. I believe the wonderful surprise was the stuffed artichoke. We had been to Italy last year, and we learned about their love for artichokes. Some restaurants there stuff them too, and this was a close to exact from any stuffed artichokes we had there. It's been a minute since my last visit, and I'm thrilled to report that absolutely nothing has changed... and for once, that's actually a compliment. Round 1: The Liquid Diet Naturally, I kicked off my personal Tour of Italy with a couple of custom cocktails. The Elegant Marguerite: Fantastic, but don't let the name fool you. This "elegant" drink has a dark side and can cause a first round knockout. Proceed with caution. The Limoncellotini: Hands down, the absolute star of the show. Sweet, smooth, and hit every single note on the playlist. Pure perfection. Phase 2: The Carbs & Carnage Next up was the appetizer round. I went with the Calamari Fritta, served with a classic marinara and a seriously impressive pesto-style sauce. The calamari itself was light, airy, and practically melted in my mouth. For the main event, I ordered their specialty: Chicken Vincenzo. We're talking lightly breaded chicken with mushrooms, garlic, and herbs and one heck of a flavorful sauce, side-chicked by a plentiful portion of linguine. The pasta was a masterclass in al dente, and this lived up to the hype. The Service & The Happy accident. Our server was fantastic--actually took the time to pour our drinks tableside and drop some stellar meal recommendations. The place was also impeccably clean, as you'd expect. But the real test of a great restaurant is how they handle a hiccup. One of our friends ordered the eggplant parm, but the kitchen accidentally sent out chicken parm instead. Now, they absolutely would have bent over backwards to replace it, but the chicken looked so darn good they just went with it anyway. When a mistake tastes that good, you know the kitchen isn't messing around. 10/10. Will be back to get hammered by that Marguerite again.
