Doesn't look like much driving by but it's got a lot of character on the inside. My first experience with a worker was RUDE, she was at the booth where you wait to be seated and she didn't once initiate contact with me and I know she wasn't busy adding the receipts up, it's not that important compared to greeting a customer. I literally had to ask, "is that my order?" She looked at it and said "I don't know, just wait". So finally a man nicely gave me the order that I asked was mine because I knew it was and how do I know by looking at a bag? Common sense. The lady didn't have a sense of urgency that I feel like most restaurants have, in the sense that they're generally attentive. You'd expect great service from a local diner. Anyway, I ordered chorizo and eggs with beans and tortillas along with a pancake. They forgot my tortillas which kinda sucked because I love eating tortillas and chorizo, no biggie I guess! I looked inside my little styrofoam box and was greeted by the ugliest presentation of food, almost ever!!! The ratio of chorizo and egg was way off, chorizo was almost granulated. I want my scrambled eggs to be soft and fluffy not lumpy and stuck together, and the beans!!! Don't get me started on the beans!!! I know these MFs grabbed a can of Rosarita beans and modeled it into a shape and threw some cheese on it to garnish the ugly creation. Maybe if you look at the picture I posted it doesn't look so bad, but the taste... I took 3 bites of the chorizo and it didn't taste like the chorizo I buy from the carniceria. I don't want to give a 1 star review but I don't recommend this place at all. There are plenty of local diners to go to, Bills Cafe isn't that bad of a choice comparatively. Came here on a Sunday for brunch and the place had decent amount of customers.. but unfortunately, their food is not up to my standards I had the strawberry banana waffle. Let's just say it was a blob of soggy dough! French toasts had way too much cinnamon, that's all you could taste. Our server brought our food out without any syrups, we had to flag her down to ask for it. Then she walked up to the table right near us to ask the guy for his syrup & brought it over to us. That just grossed me out considering we are in the middle of a pandemic! We did not have any of the syrup. I will not come back here! Mil's Diner serves better brunch! read more

In the city of Milpitas, a variety of diners and diner-chains exist to satisfy patrons - Omega is one of them, nestled in the center of a plaza that has perhaps seen better days. In some ways, it's not fair to compare the places to each other, because each of them do something uniquely right. But this review would have to compare them for the sake of categorizing them based on my visits: as someone who has gone to the following eateries more than a handful of times for a mismatch of reasons, Omega places in the low-middle of the pack, in relations to Denny's, IHOP, and Mil's Diner: Denny's is a desperate drunk's fatty refuge - it ranks 4th in the lineup for its 24/7 oasis. IHOP in Milpitas is relatively clean, rocks an awesome server, and comes with infinite self serve coffee. The food is an ambiguous mix between "real-ish" food and microwaved, but it gets the job done. It ranks 2nd. Mil's Diner...a place that serves food as hearty as can be, servers who make sure you've had your 8th cup of coffee before you leave, respectable prices...but it closes at 2-3 PM. It's easily packed, but worth the wait. If only it were open longer, if only. First in my book. Omega has good portions, the prices have gotten a bit steeper these days, the place is full of dated ambience, and it boasts a massive menu that's good all day from early morning to late afternoon. It's a weird hybrid of the above, but it does has a nice charm to it. What I've been let down by more often than not is the service. Unless you're a regular or amicable with servers, you feel invisible. I've gone here as an individual, in a small group of 3 or 4, and each time there was an element of neglect. From having to flag down staff for attention, to scrounging around the room for condiments, it's a place where I'm reluctant to tip because I'd rather the little robot server from Denny's - even that guy has more personality and care. Omega, I could excuse the price (arguably the most expensive in this roster) if I could have someone, anyone, just fill my cup once on some visits. read more

This is one of my fave breakfast restaurants. We've been coming here for years, but realized I hadn't written a review, so shame on me. It's truly a gem and has been serving awesome food for years. We came here the other day to enjoy and celebrate Mother's Day. I hadn't been here recently, so I was anxious to see how they were dealing with Covid. I was pleased to see that they were only using certain tables and booths, in order to maintain social distancing. They are also using their banquet area, which allows them to seat more guests. First off, the food here is legit. It's a family run restaurant and most of the employees have been working here for years. The food is delish and their portions are big. I love their breakfasts, but can't finish the entire meal, so I take my leftovers home to enjoy later. Their customer service is very good. They are attentive and very courteous. We usually come here for breakfast, but have stopped by for lunch and dinner on a few occasions. Whatever time you come by, your stomach will leave very satisfied. You'll probably also leave with a container of your leftovers too. I am a fan of their omelettes. They use 4-eggs and fresh ingredients. I ordered the Omega Omelette and it was delish. It contains diced ham, sausage, onions, bell peppers with melted American cheese and a slice of pineapple on top. It comes with country potatoes or hash browns and a pancake or toast. This time I ordered hash browns and the fluffy pancake. I really enjoy their pancakes and also enjoy their Pancake Sandwich too. My son ordered the Super Meat Lover Omelette and my wife had the BLT. My son's omelette had literally "the kitchen sink" of ingredients. He raved about how good it was, not to mention filling. My wife really enjoys their BLT and it comes with fries. We've been cautious and haven't dined-out much during the pandemic, but we wanted to celebrate Mother's Day properly. I absolutely love this restaurant. They have a huge menu and food is so delicious. I've never had a bad meal there. Rodeo chicken sandwich is my favorite. Servers are super friendly and give good service. Even met the owner who's super friendly. Very old school restaurant. Nothing fancy but I bring all my friends here. Such a great breakfast place! I came her a couple months back with my mom and brother because they highly recommended it, so I decided to try it out. The food was really good, you can tell that they care about aesthetics, but also not at the cost of taste and flavor. I got the eggs benedict as well as the strawberry waffles, which was heavenly. My family got other breakfast foods, but they obviously enjoyed it because they've been here before. The service was pretty decent, our waitress was very attentive and address all of our needs for refills, utensils, etc. Price I think was decent as well. I didn't pay, but i remember when I was looking at the menu that everything seemed reasonable. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this place if you're in the area. I have only dined here once and that was over a decade ago. It is one of the last remaining diner/Milpitas restaurants. I did a phone order for Easter and they were open. Just like how it was years ago, the servings are always huge. Food was delicious and order came in correctly. For 5 breakfast meals, it was only $94. I have known of Omega for years but this was the first time a friend suggested meeting here for lunch. It is a pretty run down and outdated hole in the wall. There is counter, table, and booth seating and televisions all around. There was a weird smell inside. I ordered the clam chowder and salad. The clam chowder is only available on Fridays. The consistency was very thick and glue-like. Service is pretty non-existent after you order. Go to the counter to pay because no one will bring you the check. read more

In addition from the aesthetic that screams Dancing Zorba's from "My Big Fat Greek Wedding," the service and excellence in the cooking make this place a must. While I have yet to try their dinner menu, their 'linguica & eggs' combination and their avocado bacon burger are my favorites for breakfast and lunch, respectively. The Omega restaurant has been around for a long time. I haven't visited this restaurant in a long time. I went here for breakfast and ordered the veggie skillet. The dish was prepared with white eggs and a variety of veggies that included broccoli, mushrooms, onions, tomatoes over skillet potatoes topped with sour cream. The dish was good, but didn't jump out at you. Our service was good. The server was attentive and was supported by others who refilled coffee. Oh man what can I say about Omega other than it's simply amazing! My mom introduced us to this place when staying at her house during the holidays and man she really did show me a gem! From the start the place had an amazing home feel to it a nice older diner feel. The staff is amazing very friendly and very attentive. I can't even tell you how great the food is I know that every time I have came here with my family I have finished every bit of my plate . Everything down to the sourdough toast was great! I made reservations for my son's graduation party a month in advance. Omega's was not the location I desired because its dirty, food is bland and truth be told, I was a bit embarrassed to host a party here but my son insisted to have it here because this was the neighborhood restaurant he and his recently deceased Grandfather would go for breakfast so choosing Omega's for his college graduation party was very sentimental for him. I was told to call "Raphael" a week before the event to confirm our menu selections. When I did, Raphael confirmed my reservation for the following week but there was difficulties in him providing us the menu options. He placed me on hold for close to 10 minutes and when he came back I told him I'll just come in to go over the menu options. I went in the next day and was told by Raphael that he cant host my party that week that they have a party in the afternoon and cant host two in the same day (even though mine is a morning party and the other is an evening party) I asked why he wouldn't have said this when I made the reservation a month ago and he just confirmed it the day before and he had no response. I was at the point of tears because he so nonchalantly said I cant do it, no apology, no explanation. When I told him that the party is in 6 days and invites have gone out to 50 people he just looked at me and became very rude to me to the point that my Husband had to step in and tell him to not speak to me that way. I again asked how this can happen and he not have an ounce of empathy or at the very least apologize for this he smirked at me. I then removed myself from this filth of a restaurant. Raphael has no business running a business or dealing with customers. He is incredibly rude and unprofessional. His attitude matches his filthy establishment. So I haven't been here too recently but have gone about a month or so ago. Honestly this is a true gem to the community this restaurant. The staff here is absolutely amazing and treat you like family with amazing hospitality. That's not even then best part, let's say your on a budget but want a great meal, the prices here are extremely reasonable and the portions and quality of food are not reduced to reflect the price compared to other competitors. This is my absolute #1 favorite breakfast diner to go to when introducing a friend that has never heard of omegas. Theirs always a story to be told every time I come. They used to have an old fashion cash register which was always a pleasure to see but it hasn't been operational for awhile now but was exciting just to see as well as their almost life sized Betty Bop ceramic doll. If ever you're looking for a place to have an affordable, delicious and just darn right amazing meal experience look no further. It's a funky diner with a bar and a venue room in an interesting part of Milpitas. The hamburgers are good, everything else is frozen reheated food from the frozen food section of the supermarket. The service doesn't know timing when using the venue room nor how not to bring attention to themselves. It's a good venue for a party that has drinking. Came here for the second time with the intent of bringing my daughter with me to spend our girls dine out. We've been to Denny's but this is definitely above the scale compared to the former. It's a old style diner which my daughter liked (she's old school at heart). It was clean and spacious and we got to choose where to seat since there weren't many customers when we arrived. Kiddo got herself a kid's burger with fries while I got the omega skillet. Our orders arrived and my eggs were kinda dry (should I have requested it to be on the fluffy side - idk) there were cheese, sausages, potatoes, bell peppers and ham on it. It was kinda bland for my taste so I had to season it more. I also got a pancake on the side of my order. The burger my daughter got for herself was juicy, accordingly. She enjoyed her burger with all the condiments on it however since it is huge she wasn't able to finish all of it. Me on the other hand was full after eating the pancake and half of the skillet. Portion wise you get your monies worth. The food during my first visit was better so 3 stars until further notice. read more

An old fashioned diner style restaurant with booth tables in poles permanently fastened to the floor. Tables complete with formica that was popular in the past. The staff is friendly and eager to help. We were greeted with a "specials" board that added several items to an already large menu. One of these items was a chile verde omelet which we had to try. Like a '50s diner, guest checks were written on paper and there is a counter for people that want to look at the chef and workers. No high-tech point of sale (POS) system. Even without that, from time of order to when we got our food was the time it took me to write the first paragraph of this review -- but don't blame me if your mileage is different:-). They are still using a real cash register (see photo). Floors covered with industrial carpet to reduce noise instead of the more traditional tile. No jukebox. All in all, a fun place. You may find that order execution may not be exactly consistent or possibly exactly what you thought. Our omelet was good but we ordered soft with no brown. Execution wasn't perfect but it tasted good most likely due to all the chili verde sauce. Come here if you want standard food with some nice options that are more creative than a large chain that starts with "D". If you are looking for high-end expensive items that are delicately prepared than this might not be the place for you. read more
