Baked salmon roll

Unfortunately, after years of coming here weekly, I must change my review from 5 to a 1. The food is not the same quality as before. The chefs are not the same quality as before. The customer sevice has declined significantly. The avocado inside my son's baked salmon roll was completely rotten. I informed the owner, he said he would reimburse me, however, he did not. I'd be cautious to eat raw seafood at this restaurant. I have pictures, which I will attempt to post.

Checking out this place since I'm in the area. Wanted to eat sushi and this one pops up since we were a mile away from Haven City. This place have good seating and sushi bar is great for customers viewing the sushi chefs. Very friendly and attentive service too. Check out what we ordered. It's so delicious that we devoured it not because we were hungry. It's just that good. Definitely recommend this place.

Hamachi Collar

Hamachi was perfectly seasoned and grilled. The soft shell crab was the perfect crunch and tenderness of a crab. I didn't get to take a pic of the spicy tuna sushi and the 3 item combo as we were hungry. The 3 item combo was combo tempura, oyster and salmon teriyaki. Originally, we ordered beef teriyaki but later asked to change it to salmon as it was cold. The server was very polite and efficient. The ambiance was clean in the dining area but the bathroom needs renovation, a bit of tidying up and organization. I would be back to try other dishes on the menu for sure.

We went here on a girls date and let me tell you it didn't disappoint! The sushi was so good and fresh! Their service was great they made sure we had all we needed and asking for extra sauces was no problem, they were extremely welcoming. The ambience of the restaurant was very sushi normal they had spread out the customers on both sides so we didn't feel overly close to other and they had sports on their screens which was great as a personal sports fan. Definitely returning to this restaurant again.

Eel Special Roll

One of the few restaurants that close later at 10pm which is the main reason we came. Came at 845 and was seated right away. Not packed but still a good number of people. Looks like they are staffed correctly because service was good and food came fast. Poki salad - great salad! Tons of fish and ponzu dressing is yummy. Salmon carpaccio - very good portion of salmon. Same dressing as the salad Mixed tempura - this came piping hot. 3 pieces of shrimp with 4 pieces of veggies. Batter was crunchy and the dipping sauce was flavorful. Eel special roll - California roll with eel and spice tuna on top. I wasn't expecting the spicy tuna (not my fave but they made it well). And the portion size was very big for the roll. Food quality high (food price also high but at least quality is there and service was good)

I've lived close to this place for seven years and haven't been. I'm so glad I did.. me and my daughter enjoyed it so much. The sushi was great. The service was great. We will definitely be here often.

First time to try Omokase and this is great sushi place. It's located corner of Haven and foothill. It is very spacious . Liked the bar. Lots of clientele. The sushi chef looks authentic Japanese Service was good. The attendant was very attentive. Keep refilling our drinks. Food was awesome. From the appetizer to the main entree and sushi roll were excellent. So fresh, tasty and sushilicious The Yellowtail collar and salmon collar were grilled to perfection. The ponzu sauce blended well with grilled fish . The vegetables tempura battered was so crispy and not to oily. The rainbow roll, unagi roll and baked salmon roll were so delicious. The sushi rice didn't fall off when you picked with chopsticks. The other sushi place that we go to frequently their rice roll was too soft and it breaks when you pick it up. The baked mussels were excellent not rubbery when you eat it . The sauce mixture they put on top was splendid. The tempura green ice cream ended our anniversary dinner well. This will be my new go too sushi restaurant.

I have been to Omokase a few times over the years but never had the chance to review them. Very convenient location in Rancho with lots or parking, we were a party of 2 and were greeted right away by almost every staff member which was very welcoming. We sat on the bar and was very spacious and had room for multiple plates. The Chef at the sushi bar took care of us, very nice and took very good care of us. Food came out quick and everything was fresh, delicious and nothing smelt fishy 5/5. Overall was a nice experience and will definitely be back, highly recommended!

Best sushi in town. Been coming here for 7 years now! Alwaysss amazing and everyone is also very nice and welcoming!!

Vegetable Tempura Roll

Super delicious. Service was great and fast! I got the vegetable tempura roll which was really tasty. I'm vegetarian and it was nice to see they had some options for me. Though the non-vegetarian with me got the Fuji roll and caterpillar roll and said both were great as well!

The rolls came very saucy, and most plates had an aesthetic appearance. Personally, if I were to ever revisit this location, I'd only order the garlic noodles w/ shrimp & the nigiri. For this review, I will focus on the Lobster Tail Roll ($36), Gyoza ($14), and Monaka Ice Cream ($7). I arrived at Kuwada (Rancho Cucamonga) on Sunday (around 12:50PM). Parking is very easy. The lot is HUGE. I had a reservation for 1PM, but a reservation felt superfluous since the restaurant was VERY empty. Throughout the entire dining experience, I only noticed one other group arrive. Staff is the HIGHLIGHT! Staff (receipt says JoJo) was the MAIN superstar. JoJo charmed the table; JoJo maintained a professional, kind demeanor; and JoJo worked very hard. JoJo gave excellent recommendations, and JoJo maintained a friendly, bright smile throughout our visit. Regarding food, it felt inconsistent. The food in the beginning was plated elegantly and carefully. However, as time progressed, it felt like the kitchen was beginning to rush despite the lack of customers. Food arrived very slowly, and later plates looked a little splattered and untidy. Thankfully, most of the food was very good. It's a journey of texture, fresh ingredients, and light & bright flavors. The Lobster Tail Roll ($36) had fried lobster bits, asparagus, avocado, masago, eel sauce, and mayo. It tasted like a vegetable roll at times. The Gyoza ($14 - 6 Piece) was panfried with seasoned pork and vegetables. Tasty!! And the Monaka Ice Cream ($7) is tiny with Macaroon Shell and a small scoop of Green Tea Ice Cream. All in all, these dishes didn't feel special, but they were prepared well enough. On ambiance, Kuwada (Rancho Cucamonga) is very attractive. The location is dimly lit, very clean, and spacious. However, the music is awkward at times. There were moments where light, lovely music was playing... only for random yelling music to briefly appear... to then suddenly be replaced with a country-style song. It all felt surreal. I don't think it was intended, but I think their music playlist was accidentally switched to the wrong track. Overall, Kuwada (Rancho Cucamonga) is an interesting experience. Honestly, the only reason this review is "5 Stars" is because our waitress was EXEMPLARY. Although the ambiance and cooking staff was lackluster, the front of house is MAGIC. This is a not bad, pricey place. 4.5 out of 5

I called to let them know and they were completely understanding! When we arrived, we were greeted and seated promptly. Waters were brought to the table quickly as well. The decor in this place is amazing! They were also playing really good music! We started with the combination carpaccio which was perfect because we each got to try the tuna, salmon and yellowtail. It was delicious! Then we ordered the Surf & Turf roll which is spicy crab and coconut shrimp, topped with seared Wagyu, truffle oil yuzu, and eel sauce--absolutely incredible! Next was the Kuwada roll which is crab, avocado and tempura flakes, topped with baked lobster, eel sauce, and masago. The presentation on this one was extraordinary--and the flavor was amazing! Finally we finished with the Shrimp Lover Roll which is crab shrimp tempura and cucumber, topped with shrimp, avocado, spicy mayo, and eel sauce--another winner! Jojo did an excellent job serving and clearing plates, as well as keeping our water filled! This place is a treasure and I can't wait to go back!

They have a full bar area and two sushi bar areas in the restaurant. They can definitely accommodate a large crowd. They have tvs that highlight games and play music which adds a nice touch to the ambiance. Their bench seating in the front dining definitely needs redone. The vinyl like material is cracking and uncomfortable to sit on. Our waiter was great. He was very tentative and kept asking if we were ready, had questions, or needed anything. The sushi even came out pretty quickly. I ordered the double jeopardy hand roll and absolutely loved it. That peppered salmon and albacore is a game changer from the regular fish. It gives it an extra punch of flavor. The vegetable roll was refreshing and light. A nice bright option from the fish. The nigiri eel, peppered salmon, pepper albacore, and salmon were fresh and I appreciate it being nice size slices of fish to rice ratio. I love that all the rolls come as a hand roll option because it's a little smaller portion. I also tried the Halibut but no my favorite. For a premium fish it tasted slimy and had no flavor. The shrimp boats were not good. They were heavily bartered and fried. It was like biting into grease. I also didn't get shrimp from it, more imitation crab than anything. I don't suggest this item unless you enjoy deep fried. FYI, This place can get pretty crowded on the weekends and evening but definitely worth checking out!

We also had a crying baby with us, and a more thoughtful seating arrangement or even slightly expedited service would have made things more hospitable and relaxing for everyone involved. Additionally, when we asked questions about the sushi rolls, our server wasn't familiar enough to identify or explain them, which was surprising for a sushi restaurant. Service overall felt inattentive we had to repeatedly ask for drink refills and still left thirsty. We traveled from Los Angeles County because we used to be regulars here, but based on today's experience, the new staff does not reflect the level of service we once enjoyed. It's disappointing, as this used to be a go-to spot for us. I had to try it out with that recommendation! I had gotten a reservation for 6, for a table. It's known for omakase so if that's what you're looking for, ask for a seat at the sushi bar. We were welcomed by Emi (Emiliano) at the front and seated immediately. Plenty of parking behind the building. Table seating in the front room and sushi bar in the back. I don't typically appreciate tv screens in restaurants, but this one was playing scenic photos of places in Japan so that was ok. My husband ordered an Echigo beer (his favorite Japanese beer which is not offered everywhere), and I ordered a glass of Plum wine. He then chose the Godzilla roll which was a crunchy roll wrapped in eel and avocado, whereas I chose the Passionflower which was tuna, salmon, yellowtail and crab meat wrapped in cucumber. Emi told me it was one of his favorites. :) My husband enjoyed the Godzilla roll very much--he found flavorful and satisfying. Both the ginger and the wasabi were fresh and delicious. The Passionflower roll was so fresh the fish melted in my mouth, and the crunch of the thinly sliced cucumber was delightful. It was by far the most unique roll I've ever tried, containing neither rice nor nori. I loved it! It paired well with my sweet plum wine and then the complimentary green tea ice cream Emi brought us for dessert!
