Request quotes on a holiday weekend and Ricky was able to come out that day with a service fee but if we do decide to use them the fee would be waived. Ricky was amazing. I thought it was a clog in the condensation duct since water was dripping and pulling in the heater below but it turn out the clog was from the pan area since he ruled it out by pouring a gallon of water down the main drain and about the same amount came out. Our son has eczema and all their portable units are being used in other jobs. He took a few hours, open the condensation area and clean the rust from the area from the coils and clear some of the drain (clogged from the rust) so that we can have some ac over the hot long holiday weekend. Ricky is really the main reason we chose to get a whole new system. He is so caring and took effort, and so we feel assured when Gus came and offer pricing on various maintenance plans and warranties. Ricky took time to explain the Freon being used is being phase out by epa and our HVAC is the original 27 years old. The new system should also have the auto shut off in case of backflow. I've have 2 service technicians come for our heating and ac unit for maintenance and both Alex and Gus are great. I like the fact that they care enough to put in shoe covers to make sure my floors don't get dirty. Just shows they care. They also explain what their findings are and what they did as well as recommendations. They also took photos and showed and explained to me any potential issues or recommendations that they have without the pushy sales talk. I just signed another 3 year maintenance contract with them. Our upstairs A/C stopped working on Friday afternoon. The actual unit would buzz for a couple seconds, then click, and the fan wouldn't come on. I contacted On Time Services and they were able to come out next day (today). In the interim I did some looking on YouTube and saw that the problem was most likely due to a bad capacitor. Alex was the assigned tech and he was really awesome and easy to work with. As encouraged by the company, I watched him perform the service. He was thorough and talked me through the things he was doing. The issue was indeed the capacitor. He installed a 60 + 10uf capacitor. The charge for the entire service was $263. What I paid for was classified as the "bandaid" solution and consisted of diagnosing and replacing the capacitor, tightening some of the electric connections, and verifying the fix was working properly. Alex was here in total for about 30-40 minutes. I took a picture of the capacitor installed and it is $20 on amazon, so it did seem a steep that this was the "bandaid" fix but the job got done and everything is working well. I asked if he would replace the other capacitor because I assume it's on its way out, but it would have been an additional $263 so I declined. I did see how easy it was to do, so if it does go out on my other unit, I'll feel very confident doing the repair myself. I do think that the price I was charged was higher than it should be, but I did have a positive experience from the time I contacted OnTime to them leaving. Alex did tell me about a membership plan I could have signed up for that would have been $169 per system per year. I don't know enough about current market prices for servicing AC and Furnace, so I'm going to call around before I sign up. I did ask how much a single service call would be and I was told $79 (or $158 for two visits) which doesn't make a whole lot of sense that I'd pay more for signing up for a membership. read more

My air condtioning went out the first day of a week long heat wave. I called OnTime as they had been recommended to me. They sent a tech out the first thing in the morning and called to give me his ETA. Alex arrived on time and was ready to go. So, middle of summer and of course our 30 year old A/C went out at peak heat. We reached out to a few different companies and On-Time was the quickest to respond and also the quickest to be able to get someone on site. The technician took a look and diagnosed that it was an electrical issue. He isn't an electrician and was unable to repair, but I mentioned that it was probably time to replace it anyways. The tech was able to get us set up with the owner the next afternoon to discuss what our options look like for replacement. He did a thorough review and was able to present us multiple options of varying costs. They also have financing options available. We opted for an a la carte with the pieces that we felt were the most important (including a new furnace). They placed the order and were back to install within 3 days (even supplied is with a portable a/c) while we waited! After install there was a hiccup with our thermostat and they sent someone out same day. There also needed to be an adjustment to the furnace for speed and they were able to make it out same day to do it. They have been extremely responsive and accommodating. Even if you are looking to go with a big name company, I would recommend bringing in On Time to give you a second opinion.
