    Pimento cheese sandwich with slaw.
    Joe B.

I confess it has been a while since we last came here for lunch. Today was the Chocolate Crawl in Lagrange and after braving the cold to grab some chocolate treats at this fundraiser we came to 119 West Main for lunch. We were seated quickly and given a menu and water. I of course had coffee for warmth. We both opted for the pimento cheese sandwich although my wife ordered fries as a side and I chose slaw. My wife had more fries than she could eat and shared them with me. I shared my slaw with her and she actually had leftovers. We shared a chocolate bacon cream pie with crunchy pretzels that was a perfect ending to our lunch. Service was very good and very friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lagrange is a cute small town in Oldham County that is quite popular.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Right through the door i had to wait for a few moments for a server, and a gentleman (Bigger man) and his wife had just recieved his food. He went into detail telling me about the pork chop and i ought to order it. He talked with passion about his food. When I was leaving, this couple was still there, and they introduced me to the owners Fiancée and she talked about the Pie that I had chosen to eat, and how it had appeared on the cooking network. The gentle man told me about a few other places that I will try, I love it when people talk about food with passion! [[HIGHLIGHT]]So the ambiance was beautiful, and the staff was fast as well as the place was clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are railroad tracks that run down the middle of the street out front, and yes, I did get to see a freight car pass by, and that in its own self was pretty neat and added to the ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So first out was the sweet tea. and man was it good. It was cold, as you would expect. not overly sweet but it had a flavor, and i have not been able to pull out what it was, but it added so much depth to the tea! For appetizers I ordered the fried green tomatoes, and they were huge, and a lot of them. The breading had a good flavor, and they were crisp, but the tomatoes were juicy and delicious. There was a dipping sauce, not sure what it was but it had really good flavor and added to the appetizer extremely well. I had actualy been craving Fried Green tomatoes for a little while and they hit the spot!. Now i ordered what the man suggested. It was called the Fruit of the Loin. 2 pork chops cooked with apples and apple butter, mashed potatoes and green beans. Now the pork chops, let me say this strait up! THEY WERE THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD IN A RESTURANT! I mean that whole heartedly. I have eaten a lot of them over my 50 years, and these were the best! juicy, tender and cooked to perfection. The green beans were above the grade as well, with garlic and spices. Mashed potatoes were the same. This was in my eyes, the best plate i have eaten since I have been here in Kentucy (yes only 2 months). The desert, I ordered the Kentucky Bacon Pie. I cannot put how this pie tasted into words! It was one of the best pies I have tried (Other than grandmas fresh black berry). But this was spot on, and I can see why this made it to the TV series. Overall, I had a wonderful time, and like i said the BEST mean I have had here. I will be coming back, and probably this Sunday. FAT BOY DOUBLY APPROVED!!"

You had me at SAMMICHES!! The menu was wonderful, with a great variety of food from pub type food to home comfort foods. The black and blue burger was cooked perfectly and did someone say TOTS?! Crispy outside and so soft on the inside. My partner in food enjoyed a Reuben with perfectly marbled rye bread that was toasted to perfection. It's rare that you get a sammich that the bread is still crispy on the inside against sauces. We did have to wait about 3 minutes before anyone noticed us when we walked in to the restaurant. However, once we were noticed the service was much better. The interior is a mix of nostalgic toys and board games with great lighting and plenty of room to sit. We will be back for fried green tomatoes for sure and we are bringing other people with us.

Enjoyed lunch at this quaint establishment. We were a party of 4 but saw seating for 6+. We were seated right away (Sunday at noon) and enjoyed 2 of the apps before our meals arrived. Apps: Fried Green Tomatoes and Potato Cupcakes The tomatoes were served with a sauce that reminded me of a sweet Thousand Island dressing. The tomatoes were spot on but I prefer a mildly spicy remoulade sauce with them. I would not order the potato cupcakes again - basically mashed potatoes in a ball and fried. Just not my thing. The meals were filling, but ... - the sauce on the Hot Brown was broken and that made it gritty - the stir fry tasted like it was from a microwave bag - the braised beef was dry The fish tacos were comparable to what we have had in Florida, so thumbs up! At the end of our meal, our waitress offered our kids pennies they had placed on the railroad track. Throughout our meal she kept our drinks full, checked on us regularly, and was just delightful in her attitude/speech/demeanor the entire meal. Overall our service was 5 star and the food was 3 star so...average it out to 4 stars.

There were six of us tonight we all ordered something different. My granddaughter says the locomotive burger is one of the best burgers she has ever had. Trains go right down Main Street making it a dining experience.

The short rib and seafood special were top entrees, and the churro sundae was the best dessert (plus the cold brew ice cream omg). The cauliflower was an awesome starter and we devoured it. The bourbon beet cocktail was unique and a stunner. I could have drank 4 of them, they were so impressive. Overall, the property is beautiful, there's a trail that you can walk (super cool lighting too), it's nice and quiet and peaceful. Everyone is friendly. The food and drinks are amazing. I don't see any other yelpers on here commending you for the selflessness the staff exhibited that evening, and didn't expect them to as I felt quite embarrassed with the ungrateful attitudes displayed in the moment giving the fact it was being provided free of charge.....for that Ill say "I'm sorry I didn't express those thoughts in the moment!" It was a scary situation so I was just like your business being thoughtful and considerate everyone and really I was just happy to be safe with my child after the storm nearly hit us directly.... Now that the power was out myself and the community where into the 5-6 hour mark without electric and the thoughts of food and what todo about preparing it were a real issue on most neighbors minds. As I checked on some of the fellow powerless, storm survivors they proceeded to inform me of this restaurant in Eminence, named Puckett's had power and that they were taking orders for those in our area who had no power, not only that but they would deliver it to us, and to top it off, that it would be free of charge!! Now Understand Im lived here most of my life and have worked iin several industries including the food service one, I must say after living thru 2 hurricanes in Florida, (Matthew,Irma) I had never personally heard or experienced anything of the sorts....again thank you....and I must admit i haven't eaten at your place before or after....but that's not because of your service or food, but the intent to is there....as i write this Cant help but say thank you again.....now as I found this out thru the next door neighbor, they told me that they were about to place a order, and my daughter had ran my phone down so they said we will just let em know you are ordering with us....I am still feeling somewhat lost to the idea of what Im hearing but we order.....I really was needing a cold drink and got something for my lil one think it was a grilled cheese, and i got a taco salad.....we finished the order and was told it maybe some time but they would be there.....that they were filling a lot of orders for my community just be patient.....it was about a hour and a half after the order was placed but that's not important as they were already taking care of the others in my community that i noticed as early as 6:30 7ish pm.....then the call came in telling us that our order was in route i say about 9ish or so......and to please meet the driver outside to help process the orders little quicker... and within 5 min thats what was happening as they arrived just as the fire department was stopping in to inform and check on the members of my Community so it was awesome lick the light leading the way thanks to the fire dept as well told us to stay in place....but here is Pucketts and the food, to say I was emotional would be a understatement.....and i know me and my lil girl didn't worry about eating the remander of what was a very long and sleepless night....i just want to sat that ill never not think about the care exhibited by a family owned business called Puckett's whenever my power goes out from a storm ,or when i think about a taco salad..... as it was a true hero moment for so many of us ...And if the care for others isnt enough to show you they strive to provide the best results in all aspects of their operation then you are not interested in a great experience but addicted to the heartless fast food industry that wants to charge you for the sauce that should come with the meal.....Give Puckett's A look and taste and see heros at work!! ps they were delivering food till around 12am the 3rdf from what I observed for free....sorry mcd's is closing the window at closing no matter the what is happening, and without that receipts you be a paying no offence, just sayin Thanks again and i hope this review is rewarding in someway as the cold Dr.Pepper/Taco Salad ,Grilled Cheese was for Me and My Daughter!!
