We came here visiting from Chicago and we were pleasantly surprised. The specials were amazing and the ambiance was adorable. Our server was eager to please and hand delivered us food from the heavens. I myself got one of their wraps but wished I got one of their delicious meat entrees because they did not disappoint the other people in my party. Such an adorable place and friendly people! Social distanced, easy to get in, and good staff. We got the whiskey cream pork chops with mashed potatoes and green beans, the white fish with broccoli and black beans, and fried green tomatoes. Love this place. The food is always great. When we eat in, service is kind of slow but always pleasant & the kids love watching the trains. The last two times we ordered carry out, we've had issues. Last time it took twice as long as they quoted us for it to be ready. Now, they gave our food away to the person who came in to pick up before us. So once again, it's taking twice as long. One Nineteen is our new eating spot in Old La Grange. My favorite is the Thanksgiving dinner on a plate, it is all your favorite Thanksgiving bites any time of the year. The plate includes tasty moist turkey, red skin mashed creamy potatoes, cornmeal dressing full of sage and spices, home made cranberry sauce and lovely gravy served on the turkey or the side. My daughter ordered the burger cooked to your liking. My husband ordered the Nashville style chicken special which was a huge portion of sticky hot and sweet deliciousness. What a fun little restaurant in the heart of La Grange full of southern charm, serving delicious local comfort food! Their menu is massive and from burgers, to pasta, to quesadillas everyone will find a dish they will love. The service is attentive and friendly. During our last visit we enjoyed some delicious potato cupcake bites with an amazing honey mustard dipping sauce as well as the chicken ala bling pasta. It's was incredibly delicious cooked with fresh broccoli, country ham and chicken smothered in a scrumptious boursin cheese sauce. Another plus: the portions are HUGE and I personally love myself some good leftovers to devour the next day. The name is the address. Love it! Perfect parking right in front. The streets have trees, flowers, and a railroad track right down the middle. Perfect weather to sit outside. Hostess/ waitress was so polite and accommodating. The town is cute (we see parts from our outside seating). Very patriotic! The menu is cool. So many fun things to choose. "The Fish You Wish" is my choice. This was the busiest, funniest lunch in a long time. The same road you drive in and out has tracks that are in use...by fifty different kinds of construction equipment. It felt like a parade with bells going off, people hollering out, and waving. I have video and pics to go with this review. I got bacon pie for dessert. Delicious for sure!!! My boyfriend got fruity pebbles covered and fried unsplit banana with ice cream and syrups (official name Fried Banana Unsplit). His was awesome! We had such a great experience. FOOD - I had the pineapple blackened white fish with black beans and steamed broccoli. Outstanding job by the cook: fish cooked and seasoned to perfection, same for the broccoli. Let me tell you that 9/10 black bean dishes are not good, and I want to like them, but these beans were awesome...so that's saying a lot from me. We visited 119 last night. My husband had the vegetable lasagna, my son had the tips and mushrooms, and I had the lemon caper whitefish. All three meals were top notch. My fish was fresh, as was the lemon caper sauce. No cut corners and plenty of capers for each bite. My son stopped talking and cleared his plate . The vegetable lasagna was really good, too. The sauce was amazing and had really good cheese, and the perfect selection of vegetables ,that kept the dish savory , as lasagna should be. I went to Cracker Barrel first, but there was a long wait, so I decided to wander around Lagrange for some home cooking. I am lucky I found this place. The fried green tomatoes were pretty tasty, though a bit too heavily breaded. The creme brulee was good, though too cool and thick. The fried turkey/dressing balls over homemade mashed potatoes (with skin in them) and cranberry sauce on the side were clever. The sweet tea was perfect. The service was fast and friendly. read more

Overall the food was great. I asked for a medium burger and they delivered. The only reason I made this a 3 star instead of 4 is because I had asked for fries and instead got Saratoga chips which I do like but when I told the lady that brought out the food that I was supposed to have fries she just said well this one has chips and didn't try to change it. She wasn't our original waiter so that may have been why she was a little snippy. When our waiter came to the table he did realize that the chips and fries got mixed up and offered to swap them but I told him I was fine with the chips at that point. The atmosphere though was pretty neat. There were board games and such pinned to the wall and have it a child likeness. The menu was full of options so there was something for everyone. I would totally go there again. It was a bit out of my way but looking at the experience overall, if you are in the area and looking for a nice place that is a little more laid back, I would recommend eating here! read more

While traveling from Cincinnati to Louisville, I google searched, where to eat between the two cities. 119 west Main in Lagrange, KY popped up. Of course I then went out to yelp to read the reviews and we were not disappointed. Definitely not a fancy place with board game used on the walls as decor which I thought was very clever. The menu was huge with many interesting items. Including Reuben wontons and potato bites to name a few! I ordered the whitefish Reuben which was bronzed (lightly blacked) with coleslaw, cheese, thousand and grilled between marble rye! YUM!! My husband had two pork chops, mashed potatoes and broccoli for a whopping 12.99. He loved it We also tried the Kelly's chip nachos which were only ok, as both the chips and nacho cheese were cold. That along with the cold French fries are the only reason I did not give this restaurant 5*s. Also within~ 1/2 mile of highway 71 and only about 30 minutes from downtown Louisville. Not only did I fall in love with this quaint and cute little railroad town of La Grange, KY, I discovered one of the BEST small town restaurants ever. One Nineteen West Main is a must try if you're driving through the area. And if you're not in the area, well heck, make the road trip anyway...It will be well worth it! We tried the pimento cheese deviled eggs, the "railroad spikes" stuffed peppers with pepper jelly, the Reuben wontons and the KY hot brown. To sum it up in one word, flippindeliciouslipsmackingoooooooood!!!! We wanted to try the fried upside down pineapple cake too but didn't have any room left in our happy bellies. This was my first time trying One Nineteen West Main and I had a pretty good experience, however I feel like I would need to go back in order to give it a solid review. I went for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon with three coworkers. When we arrived, there were a few patrons, but the restaurant quickly filled up the closer to noon it got. Our server was prompt and friendly. For lunch, I ordered the chicken, and multiple cheese macaroni and cheese, which was topped with bacon. The bacon was crispy and the macaroni and cheese was hot and creamy. There was something off about the taste, I could not put my finger on it, but it was definitely not something I would order again. I also split the Trainwreck sandwich with a friend and it was delicious. Skinless boneless chicken breast with Borson cheese dressing, creamy avocado, bacon strips, and melted Monterey Jack cheese. It was served with homemade chips for $8.49. I tried a co-workers pulled pork sandwich and the BBQ sauce was a tad sweet for my liking (the Coke slaw also had entirely too much dill). I didn't have a bad experience, but I wasn't overly impressed either. I would be willing to give this place another try. There are MANY things on the menu I'd like to try! read more

Come here for a trip back to memory lane, not the food. Park in the back so you can get to your car when the train is coming through (and hide your valuables). Just a walk across the street from the Oldham Co. courthouse, and on same street as LaGrange's historic down town with specialty shops. GOOD: They're not too uppity to itemize receipts; itemized with price breakout, tho fading ink. The dill pickle right out of the jar was the best food here. OK: Weak Ice Tea. $5.99 Double-layer bologna sandwich with very, very good bread and 2 each 3/8" thick slabs of meat...maybe a little too salty, even for this salt lover. Chewy cold slaw. NOT GOOD: $8.99 Black & Blu Burger: too greasy, blue cheese was drippy like baked mayo, limp lettuce, too small to justify the price. Greasy potato chips. Overpriced food for the value. Not worth the wait--service when not crowded--way too slow to be waited on, to be served, to be brought the check, to take the check--took about an hour to get in and out. Server couldn't remember the order and had to either ask again and then brought the wrong thing. They had specials of the day, but none were appealing. RECOMMENDATION: Stop trying too hard. Too large and varied a menu for the venue and number of cooks and tables - perhaps reducing menu selection and concentrating on the taste of fewer meat and potatoes items or specialties, the food may be upgraded, the cooks can put out the meals faster, and I dare say they'd have more customers. read more
