    Pimento cheese sandwich with slaw.
    Joe B.

I confess it has been a while since we last came here for lunch. Today was the Chocolate Crawl in Lagrange and after braving the cold to grab some chocolate treats at this fundraiser we came to 119 West Main for lunch. We were seated quickly and given a menu and water. I of course had coffee for warmth. We both opted for the pimento cheese sandwich although my wife ordered fries as a side and I chose slaw. My wife had more fries than she could eat and shared them with me. I shared my slaw with her and she actually had leftovers. We shared a chocolate bacon cream pie with crunchy pretzels that was a perfect ending to our lunch. Service was very good and very friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lagrange is a cute small town in Oldham County that is quite popular.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Right through the door i had to wait for a few moments for a server, and a gentleman (Bigger man) and his wife had just recieved his food. He went into detail telling me about the pork chop and i ought to order it. He talked with passion about his food. When I was leaving, this couple was still there, and they introduced me to the owners Fiancée and she talked about the Pie that I had chosen to eat, and how it had appeared on the cooking network. The gentle man told me about a few other places that I will try, I love it when people talk about food with passion! [[HIGHLIGHT]]So the ambiance was beautiful, and the staff was fast as well as the place was clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are railroad tracks that run down the middle of the street out front, and yes, I did get to see a freight car pass by, and that in its own self was pretty neat and added to the ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So first out was the sweet tea. and man was it good. It was cold, as you would expect. not overly sweet but it had a flavor, and i have not been able to pull out what it was, but it added so much depth to the tea! For appetizers I ordered the fried green tomatoes, and they were huge, and a lot of them. The breading had a good flavor, and they were crisp, but the tomatoes were juicy and delicious. There was a dipping sauce, not sure what it was but it had really good flavor and added to the appetizer extremely well. I had actualy been craving Fried Green tomatoes for a little while and they hit the spot!. Now i ordered what the man suggested. It was called the Fruit of the Loin. 2 pork chops cooked with apples and apple butter, mashed potatoes and green beans. Now the pork chops, let me say this strait up! THEY WERE THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD IN A RESTURANT! I mean that whole heartedly. I have eaten a lot of them over my 50 years, and these were the best! juicy, tender and cooked to perfection. The green beans were above the grade as well, with garlic and spices. Mashed potatoes were the same. This was in my eyes, the best plate i have eaten since I have been here in Kentucy (yes only 2 months). The desert, I ordered the Kentucky Bacon Pie. I cannot put how this pie tasted into words! It was one of the best pies I have tried (Other than grandmas fresh black berry). But this was spot on, and I can see why this made it to the TV series. Overall, I had a wonderful time, and like i said the BEST mean I have had here. I will be coming back, and probably this Sunday. FAT BOY DOUBLY APPROVED!!"

You had me at SAMMICHES!! The menu was wonderful, with a great variety of food from pub type food to home comfort foods. The black and blue burger was cooked perfectly and did someone say TOTS?! Crispy outside and so soft on the inside. My partner in food enjoyed a Reuben with perfectly marbled rye bread that was toasted to perfection. It's rare that you get a sammich that the bread is still crispy on the inside against sauces. We did have to wait about 3 minutes before anyone noticed us when we walked in to the restaurant. However, once we were noticed the service was much better. The interior is a mix of nostalgic toys and board games with great lighting and plenty of room to sit. We will be back for fried green tomatoes for sure and we are bringing other people with us.

There were six of us tonight we all ordered something different. My granddaughter says the locomotive burger is one of the best burgers she has ever had. Trains go right down Main Street making it a dining experience.

Enjoyed lunch at this quaint establishment. We were a party of 4 but saw seating for 6+. We were seated right away (Sunday at noon) and enjoyed 2 of the apps before our meals arrived. Apps: Fried Green Tomatoes and Potato Cupcakes The tomatoes were served with a sauce that reminded me of a sweet Thousand Island dressing. The tomatoes were spot on but I prefer a mildly spicy remoulade sauce with them. I would not order the potato cupcakes again - basically mashed potatoes in a ball and fried. Just not my thing. The meals were filling, but ... - the sauce on the Hot Brown was broken and that made it gritty - the stir fry tasted like it was from a microwave bag - the braised beef was dry The fish tacos were comparable to what we have had in Florida, so thumbs up! At the end of our meal, our waitress offered our kids pennies they had placed on the railroad track. Throughout our meal she kept our drinks full, checked on us regularly, and was just delightful in her attitude/speech/demeanor the entire meal. Overall our service was 5 star and the food was 3 star so...average it out to 4 stars.

The owner stopped by our table to say hello. She is such a ray of sunshine! The food was delicious. I enjoyed everything i had. The jerk chicken sandwich, pasta salad, and the grits. I sampled my husband's meal as well. He got the sweet potato waffles. We were thinking that the sweet potato would be infused in the waffle, but we were surprised to find the sweet potato toppings on top of the waffle. It was so scrumptious. We can't wait to go back and try some other items on the menu.

We had the privilege of meeting Blondie and talking to her about some of the menu items. She was fun and lovely. My two favorites - the chicken salad croissant and pimento cheese with candied bacon and pepper jelly. My husband loved the buffalo cauliflower; however, I found it to be too spicy and one piece was enough. We also grabbed the cornbread appetizer, which wasn't a standout. The menu is full of brunch items served on the weekend. I'm ready to come back to enjoy the chicken and waffles, plus Jim's biscuits and gravy. While there I also sampled the red beans and rice (yum) and cornbread salad (double yum). Several lunch and dinner items plus cocktails and drinks. Everyone in your group should find it easy to find a choice. The decor is bright and fun. Service was top notch. Parking is easy. Come support and enjoy Norton Commons!

We definitely found the right place. The patio area with the Koi pond and waterfall was perfect. My wife and I had the Fried Green Tomatoes and Selena's Crab Caps. I'm not sure if the $2 version was a smaller size or only offered at certain times, but honestly... the drinks were still worth it. The flavor was amazing, and unlike a lot of brunch drinks that taste watered down, these were actually strong. Two glasses definitely had me feeling tipsy, so I can't complain too much there. The main reason I took off a star was the parking situation and accessibility concerns. The handicap parking is positioned perpendicular to the main road, which honestly feels unsafe when backing out. If someone already has mobility or visibility limitations, backing directly into a busy road can be stressful and dangerous. The rest of the parking area is also gravel, which can be difficult to navigate with mobility aids, wheelchairs, walkers, or even just for someone unsteady on their feet. It's one of those situations where it's great that handicap parking exists close to the entrance, but the actual setup still creates challenges. Outside of that, the drinks themselves were genuinely really good, the atmosphere was fun, and I'd probably still come back for another brunch date.

The menu consists of numerous protein and vegetable options including vegan. The Mac N Cheese was a baked homey delight, the fried Okra was a well seasonend crispy goodness that tingled the taste buds with every bite, the collard greens cooked with smoked turkey and cornbread were perfection, the fried catfish was a visual delight; seasoned well and crunchy to the touch. My family members cooed over the cabbage, the sweet potatoes (not from a can), the chicken tenders, chicken wings with multiple sauce selections and the fried, flakey cod fish. I highly recommend the Watermelon Lemonade! Desserts were also on the menu without a doubt.
