Rude and demeaning. I wanted a diagnostic on my tranny. They told me to drop it off Tuesday, I show up and was told I was wasting my time and money and the tranny is bad and I'm making a mistake because he knows better. He didn't even drive my car!!! As a customer I should be allowed to make my own choices in what I consider a waste. A tranny diagnostic would cost me 350 vs 5000 for a new transmission. These guys are assholes and really demeaning. When I walked away I was also chased outside to my car telling me that he knows and I don't. So unprofessional and scary to be doing that to a woman. I went in here for car oil leak. This place charged me $60 inspection fee to tell me that I need to have my car engine steam washed because it was too dirty for them to inspect. (They spent less than 10 minutes looking at my car. ) I went in to "Shoman Motors" to have my car engine washed, and explained my situation. They looked at my car and found the source of the leak right away, even before they washed my car. They explained what I need to fix and gave me an estimate of the cost fee. I called back to this place to ask the estimate of what I needed fixed on my car. They added more than 5 things to the list of what I need fixed, and gave me the 3x more estimate than other mechanics offered. I was surprised how much the place could tell me what my car needs over the phone than when they were looking at my car in person.. Very poor communication. We went to one stop smog on a Sat. morning to have a single sensor replaced, already had a diagnostic report from another shop from a while back showing the issue. we were told they could not do the sensor that day because the parts supplier was closed but that it would probably be about $50 to $70 based on the $10 part+labor, come back on Monday. So we did, came by soon as the shop opened but were told at drop off that there would be an additional $120+ diagnostic fee on top to look at it. So we left and took it to the dealership got it repaired much cheaper. Would have been SUPER nice for them to tell us on Sat. they were going to price gouge us so we could have just gone ahead and run it someplace else instead of wasting 2 days on these guys. read more

I'm starting to think that Sacramento yelping is opposite of SF yelping. Maybe it's a grade school thing around here, one star means you're #1, which would mean that giving something 5 stars is an F. It has to be, if I could give One Stop Smog 0 stars I would. Absolutely nothing about their business earned any stars from me. They were incredibly slow, very expensive (almost $200 for an oil change and smog), actually, ridiculously exorbitantly out of this world overpriced, expensive doesn't even cover that or come close. The service wasn't good, and for making you wait forever (with no customers ahead of me, 3 guys standing around doing nothing when I got there), they could add something besides a dilapidated fish tank, half of a car parts magazine, and do not pet the dog signs. On top of that, my car did not pass smog, justifiably, because the check engine light was on, however, they did not pick up that it was simply spark plugs that needed to be replaced. How amateur is that? A simple fix, and something that should be easily noticed and recommended by any car professional. They simply seem like they do not care enough to do even a half-mediocre job at One Stop Smog, I highly recommend skipping over this business and taking your business elsewhere. read more

Contacted them for an alignment and was quoted 70. Went in and was told it is 80 but after explaining I got a quote for 70 they stuck to it. My car was aligned by Sears and the guy that did it completely messed up my alignment and my tires to go with it. The technician was able to fix everything for me. Best experience I've had in any car repair/maintenance facility. I called to receive a quote for a smog, after providing information he quoted me $48.25 out the door. When I got there I greeted by the owner before I had even made it to the front desk!! I told him what I needed and he grabbed my paperwork and went to work. After about 10m the owner, who's extremely friendly, handed my a nice cold water for my wait. That was above and beyond for a lot of places. He values his customers. After it was completed and yes I passed, I was greeted by a 3rd friendly associate, paid $48.25 and was well on my way. On top of that they send in your info to the dmv immediately. Smog tests aren't run till 8am on weekdays! Came in at 7 am & came back @ 8 since they promised it would take only 5-10 min to do my smog on my '09 VW. in reality I was there 35-40 min. $48.00 out the door.
