I just moved into the neighborhood and have been itching to find my local Thai spot! This is the kind of neighborhood spot you keep in your back pocket. It's fast, flavorful, and reliably good without trying too hard. I ordered takeout and was honestly impressed by how well everything traveled and held up (although I only live a block away) The pad thai was solid -- not overly sweet (which is a common pitfall), with a nice tang from the tamarind. It even had some spice which I personally love in a pad thai. The noodles were the right texture and it actually had some wok char, which I appreciated. Definitely a delicious option. The basil fried rice was probably my least favorite of the three. It was fragrant and spicy, but veryyy salty compared to the other two dishes I got. The pad see ew was rich and savory, with that slightly smoky edge you want from stir-fried flat noodles. The sauce was nicely balanced and the noodles weren't sitting in a pool of oil. The Chinese broccoli had a nice crunch, and the beef was tender. Ordering was easy (I ordered on their website), service was friendly, and pickup was super smooth. Came here for dinner with friends and it's a great casual spot for Thai food in Murray Hill! Since we came in a big group, we had to wait for some friends who showed up late and their staff was SO kind and patient with us (very grateful). My friends and I got their wonton soup, khao soi, pad kra pao, and pad kee mao. Everything was delicious. Their portions were huge for the price (everything ranged from $12-$16!) and it was a steal. On 1/21 I visited One Two Thai. If you like heavy spice, then this is the place for you, but my visit proved to create an unwanted digestive issue. I ordered a lychee martini, which was quite good and panang curry, tasty, but extremely spicy and later a disaster. This is a small restaurant with limited seating and an open kitchen in the back. They do a booming takeout business. I sat at a table near the front door which proved to be exceedingly cold. Despite a heater, the walls just seemed to draw in the cold, and, despite double doors, the people coming in for takeout orders usually didn't close one of the doors. It's supposed to have Chinese broccoli but there were only two flimsy half pieces at the bottom- a few pieces of scallion (literally scallion is $1for 2 bunches, so...) and definitely less than 10 pieces of sprout, the broad noodles weren't long continuous strips, but very scrappy short pieces - basically the scraps. My sister got their seasonal beef noodle soup ($20)- huge bowl of rice noodles with pieces of beef and beef meatballs. 04/20/23: As usual my go to spot when in the office. Todays experience was ok. They removed the Basil Fried Rice from the lunch menu and increased the price. I was still able to order however today I was denied. Instead ordered the Thai fried rice spicy. It was a bit lackluster and didn't have the flavor of the Basil fried rice. Going forward will order the Basil fried rice from the regular menu it's about the same price as the new lunch menu minus the appetizer. I'm rarely in Murray Hill but after a doctors visit it was 1:30 and I was depleted and famished. I was in the mood for Thai and of course Yelped current nearby options. I was of course looking for Lunch Specials. One Two Thai popped up and I had til 3:15pm to make it in time for lunch. Most restaurants close @3 for lunch and then reopen for dinner @5. I entered and parted the curtains to find a cute and festive Christmas Thai Village. The dining room is small and cozy and was seated right away. I was served water and a pitcher was left on the table which I think is great. I reviewed the menu and specials started at $11.99 for veggies and chicken, $13.99 for seafood. All specials come with a side salad which I confirmed that tofu was added. I decided on Drunken noodles with shrimp mildly spicy. The salad was served promptly with tofu and a nice peanut dressing sans chopsticks. I enjoyed it immensely with chopsticks, my preferred dining utensils. Then came the drunken noodle with half a dozen shrimp! Which was generous and spice was right on target. It was downright delicious: with peppers, onions and of course those shrimps! Highly recommend! The ambience is chill and it looks like locals really support this place. All in all a nice quiet lunch.. This Thai restaurant is great for a simple meal or lunch take outs! During lunch time, so many people pick up for lunch! I always get their curry dishes and Thai tea. Portion size is great and very reasonably priced. I usually go with green curry or panang curry with beef. I love their Thai tea! It is one of the better ones, but make sure to drink earlier in the day because the tea has caffeine. It is on the smaller end for restaurants, but not too difficult to get a seat there. Great spot for a casual Thai meal. The space is a little small in some parts for indoor dining but is accommodating for groups.
