Take out counter in the Serramonte mall. They have those rice triangles rapped in seaweed with a choice of fillings. Kinda like a sandwich. 2 triangles and a miso soup or a salad is a set. Healthy (little meat) right size meal. Order by machine which takes time to get use to.

First time trying it out after it opened in Serramonte! Seating is limited to a few tables out infront of the store. You order at the self-kiosk and the service is pretty fast. All the Onigilly flavors are yummy especially the salmon, and the overall portion size is not bad for the price. The 2-piece sets are good if you want a light lunch but aren't starving. I have some notes regarding sizing. Overall, it's pretty good. Edamame Set with 2 Onigilly (Ponzu Salmon Poke and Sweet Soy Salmon Poke) - I liked the taste of the sweet soy salmon better. Salmon portion sizes seem to vary, but overall I wish they included more fish. After I bit into the ponzu salmon one I felt like it was mostly rice, while the salmon was pushed to the side which made it look more filling than it was (see photo). The sweet soy salmon one had more fish though, so maybe that was a one-off occurrence. Bento Set with 2 Onigilly (Spicy Tuna Poke and Koji Tuna Poke) - My partner liked it but I wish it came with more chicken karaage - the two pieces were pretty tiny. The takuan (pickled radish) and tamagoyaki were yummy and went well with the Onigilly!

For a quick bite check out onigilly! 5$ for a deluxe I got the California, it was a delicous bite. This little shop has a tiny machine in the back that makes the triangular rice cakes. The service was nice but really you just order with the machine and pick up your order.

So, we had the one open at stonestown and then now we finally have one at Serramonte shopping center in Daly City. I would say this one feels and somewhat tastes better than the Stonestown location. Mainly, we weren't feeling the rice cooked at stonestown as much as we felt the rice could have been cooked abit more. Comparing to this one, majority of the flavors were closer to how we remembered the taste from other onigillies. The service was really good too as the staff were all really concentrating on their work and the main cashier was really good about assisting with recs and if we needing anything else to make the experience better. We would return t this location more as the onigillies tasted better for us. Thank you!

Had no idea what this place was about but had an expert bring me here to try their "perfect-size for a lunch for a non-big eater" (my words haha). Got to try two of the premium onigiris which was a poke and a snow crab. Both were beautifully made and really tasty :) I was curious about the combos they had, but I think you're limited on choice - but could be an option for those who want a bit of a heftier lunch. OMG - their yuzu lemonade is so good though! Maybe a tad too sweet but honestly, you can just water it down yourself. We were able to get this complimentary using the app's promo - we were between the spam onigiri or this yuzu lemonade and honestly, that's a tough choice, but I'm gonna say the yuzu is better hahaha :D

Onigilly is now open, and a great addition to Serramonte! It's one of the healthier food options in the mall. I stopped by for a quick snack and was able to order easily on one of the two self-ordering tablets. There are 3 types of pricing: classic ($3.99), premium ($4.49) and deluxe ($4.99). I opted for two of the deluxe onigiris: tuna poke and snow crab. Both were great and made to order quickly. I also got a yuzu lemonade with the new offer when you sign up for free rewards (via Toast). Loved this lemonade! Super refreshing and not too sweet. You can also build your own onigilly set with 2-3 onigiri and can add things like seaweed salad, miso soup, pickles etc. The only thing I wished was for there to be more seating and tables around, or else it's grab and go. Will be back again regardless though!

Stopped by Onigilly at Serramonte during their Grand Opening weekend on Saturday. I caught the ribbon-cutting ceremony and then waited in a long line, which moved slowly. Ordering at the self-serve kiosk was easy overall, but the BOGO promo took a moment to figure out. After typing in "BOGO," you have to tap the green checkmark for the discount to apply. I ended up getting the free SPAM and did the BOGO 50% off with Snow Crab and Salmon Tarako. Everything tasted great. This was my first time trying Onigilly, and I'd definitely come back. They also had fun grand opening extras--I spun the prize wheel and won Onigilly chopsticks. Raffle prizes include free Onigilly for a year (two winners), AirPods, and an iPad. Winners are being notified today (Jan. 20), so I'm hoping for some good news!

We went here for lunch early today, we were afraid the lines were super long with the soft opening. It wasn't crazy busy at opening, and pretty easy. We places our order on the mini kiosk and our food was out in minutes. We ordered: 1. Spicy tuna poke: Surprisingly spicier than I expected but was fresh and gone in no time. 2. Ponzu salmon: Fresh and not fishy tasting. Ponzu was a good balance. 3. Bento box 3 onigilly: This is a good deal, you can choose 3 items, comes with edamame, chicken karaage, tamagoyaki, & takuan. Good for sharing, sampling, and cheaper in my opinion. We did 2 orders of these: mix of shrimp tempura, snow crab, miso tuna salad, and spam. All were fresh and equally delicious. 4. Cream puffs : matcha and strawberry were a perfect way to end the meal. 5. Organic matcha lemonade: Refreshing and perfect balance. Service was fast and items were reasonably priced. Highly recommend this place.

Came during their grand opening weekend and was able to get the free onigiri but we also bought 2 onigiri. We got a unagi and salmon poke onigiri. All three onigiri were fresh and yummy. Will definitely go again.

Finally an Onigilly in Daly City!! This shop is right across from Hollister, existing from Macy's. Ambiance: 4/5 Nothing fancy, just a shop in the mall. It was kind of awkward to wait for the food as there's no waiting area and you're kind of just in everybody's way walking by. Service: 4/5 Pretty much self-service as there are 2 kiosks to order from and they'd just hand you your order. We did have to wait about 20mins to get 7 onigilly but we didn't mind. Food: 5/5 The nori got soggy pretty quick so the whole thing fell apart pretty quick with 1-2 bites. But!!! All the fillings tasted fresh and tasty, so we were happy with the overall quality.

Onigilly is now open within Serramonte Shopping Center. It is ear Kay Jewelers and across from Waikiki (heading towards Macy's from the center of the mall). The service is fairly quick - they have two DIY tablets for you to scroll through and choose from. For a limited time only, they have a Buy One, get one for 50% off (discount code BOGO). I assume this expires on their second day of opening at 7pm since it's their opening weekend. The service is really fast just like the one in Stonestown - so I look forward to becoming a regular here (much easier to find parking compared to Stonestown).

Miso Tuna Salad & Teriyaki Chicken Onigilly

I was excited to see that they opened up a location here at Serramonte as I frequent here more than Stonestown. I'm a fan of the snow crab onigilly but wanted to try the tuna and I knew that the chicken one was good because I tried it before. I love that this is an actual store front and not a booth situated in the middle of the mall and there's seating provided. I used the kiosk to order my onigilly and received my order within the next few minutes despite having a handful of customers ahead of me. I love nori seaweed and onigilly is a great snack option while browsing the mall. I appreciated that the Miso Tuna salad was proportioned with the rice and the aioli really balanced the wrap. The price point for both were budget friendly and I do think that I prefer this location over the Stonestown one!

I'm so pleased that Onigilly opened at Serramonte. I work nearby and this is another awesome lunch option. We used to go to the Palo Alto location but beyond that one I always try to stop whenever I see one in the wild. A problem with Daly City has been that the Japanese markets are all the way down in San Mateo or up in San Francisco. Daly City has been an onigiri desert - until NOW. Plus the Onigilly product is so good. I still dream of their snow crab onigilly, but the last few times I've tried to stay veg (other than Unagi which is basically a vegetable amirite) and omitted it from my trios. Love Onigilly. Yay.

My favorite would be the deluxe chirashi box for the wide variety of sashimi and salmon sashimi is my absolute favorite. I love getting salmon sashimi from every sushi place and this place def has some of the better ones. Service: we've never actually sat down in the restaurant since it looks super small and the tables are really close to each other and they're also typically busy and full. We order to go either over delivery or pick up and I would say it's pretty reasonable timing although I would recommend ordering ahead of time if picking up.

The space is very small, with three tables that seat two or three people and four stools at the counter. We ordered two rolls, the Oh Baby and Mango Salmon, as well as the sushi tacos. The quality and texture of the fish were good. Our favorite of the three dishes was the Mango Salmon roll. The mango paired nicely with the salmon, and the salmon itself was soft and buttery. The sushi tacos were enjoyable as well. The nori shell was crispy and added a nice texture, but I felt like the sauce was a little overpowering and took away from some of the other flavors and ingredients. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and appreciated the quality of the fish. It's a small spot, but worth checking out if you're in the area.

My husband and I had dinner here tonight, and overall it was a really memorable experience. We've…read moretraveled quite a bit and tried sushi in many different cities, including around the Los Angeles area where we live and have our favorite spots. So when we visit a sushi restaurant, we tend to evaluate everything as a whole -- price, quality, service, and of course the flavors. For dinner we ordered the Mango Tuna Roll (which was our first time trying a mango-style sushi roll), the 8-piece Omakase Nigiri, a Double Toro Roll, two pieces of Otoro, and a hot sake. With a 20% tip included, the total for the two of us came to $163.50, which honestly falls within the average range of what we usually spend for a sushi dinner like this. Normally we might pay around $120-$130 depending on the place, sometimes a little more if we add an extra item or two. The portion sizes were pretty standard. Not unusually large, but not small either -- similar to what we've experienced at many other sushi restaurants. Where this place really stood out was the depth of flavor. The quality and balance of the ingredients were excellent. At one point I actually caught myself closing my eyes just to focus on the taste, which is something I almost never do. The preparation felt very refined and the flavors were elevated, rich, and memorable. I would describe it as delicate portions with very elevated flavors. Because of that, I'm giving this place 5 out of 5 stars. This is the kind of restaurant that works perfectly for a nice dinner with your partner. It's not necessarily a place where you go wild ordering everything on the menu like at a taco spot. Instead, it's better to be thoughtful with what you choose and enjoy a few well-crafted dishes. You can easily have a special, enjoyable dinner here without going overboard. Definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and want a quality sushi experience with refined flavors. The only thing I felt was missing was a small welcome miso soup. In some sushi restaurants we've visited, they serve a tiny cup of miso with a couple pieces of tofu as a warm welcome. It's a very small gesture, but it creates a nice first impression and adds a sense of hospitality to the experience. Considering the quality and pricing of the menu here, a simple welcome miso soup would fit perfectly with the overall dining experience.

Clean modern space, service checked in frequently and water refills were good. They answered any questions I had and provided good suggestions. Everything was prepared well. There was some waiting for different parts as some came from the kitchen and some from the chef. Since it was busy it definitely set things back a bit. Everything from the chef had a simple description for what it was. My faves for the meal were the scallop sashimi, the chiwan mushi, the yakimono, king salmon, and med fatty tuna. The scallops were flavorful, and just melted. Probably the best bite that I had. The cuts of fish were great. I liked how simple the chiwan mushi was. Definitely was great with the cold weather. The yakimono the butter wasn't overpowering and was well balanced with the ingredients. There was also a fried appetizer that was good but the name of it escapes me. Certainly worth the price tho if I had more people with me, I would definitely get reservations.
