Ordered a mini BBQ chicken for lunch for $14.27. It was filling for me because I'm a small eater. The amount of chicken and veggies makes for a balanced meal. I would say it's a decent fast casual lunch option with fast service but nothing amazing.

Never noticed this location since the opening for the parking lot is slightly hidden in my opinion. The restaurant is clean, the service is fast and food comes out within 10-15mins. I did run into some communication issues with my order. I ordered two meals with the same exact items and somehow got different items for it and I didn't notice until after I got home. The chicken katsu was very thin and had more breading than meat and the short ribs were a bit tough. The bbq chicken and the macaroni salad was pretty good though.

Grand Opening today January 16, 2026

GRAND REOPENING of this Colma store with a BOGO on any place, NO LIMIT! I saw families with bags of BOGO food, in fact some of the people in front of me right 5 plates and got 5 free! They are giving out random t-shirts and bags until they run out. It's one per individual or group which means let's suppose you went there with your friend and even if you ordered separately because you were near them you may or may not get a free gift. Like I had my own order and my friend had his own order with SEPERATE bills and they would not let him get a t-shirt because he was with me, which mad no sense. Super chaotic and I'm not saying it wasn't true, but there were some old ladies who said they were suffering from heat stroke and were able to cut the line and come inside. I think they cut down on this later because it looks like they were putting a place holder. The DIY sauce line was ridiculous and so was waiting for the food with confusion with the orders when people couldn't produce their receipts half an hour later, maybe they threw them away? Not sure but there were a lot of unhappy people. My seafood platter was not fully fried enough. I had to place the fried shrimp and fish into my airfryer to fry it up more. Also, the lady didn't hear me when I asked for substitute salad instead of rice. Oh well, deal with the crazy if you want. Still a good deal if you can get in and out in under half an hour.

Came here for the 1st time w/ family and it was good!! From ordering to getting our meal was about 15 minutes but it gave us time to get drinks and utensils and condiments. The place was busy but the staff is very good - taking orders and getting them out. The lemon chicken was excellent- loved the flavor! Kalbi short ribs was well flavored- loved the steam cabbage that came with it. Mac salad is better than most - lots of flavor and just enough mayo. Crispy shrimp - really good these guys know how to fry Chicken katsu- loved the breading just wish the chicken was cut a bit thicker ! Musubi - good grill on the spam and loved the sauce Over all a great meal - busy little place but they know how to handle a crowd. The food is good and you get more than enough to fill you up and in some cases have leftovers.

We went here for the grand re-opening on Friday, the line was pretty long but manageable. They had a special going on that day, buy one plate, get one free. The place hasn't changed that much in my opinion. My favorite bbq beef was amazing as usual. It was only missing the cabbage, but I can only imagine because it was crazy busy. Food was hot and fresh, on point as usual. I love the addition of the hula guava pie

After being closed for renovations for 5 months, Ono Colma has finally reopened, and I'm stoked! I got there about 5:15 pm Friday night to take advantage of their Grand Reopening BOGO deal. The line was out the door. However, from the time I got in line to the time I left, it was only about half an hour. They were very efficient and prepared for the mass amount of people they knew they would have. I still have the same complaint though...just the one sauce station. I grabbed my sauces after I ordered and didn't wait too long. But by the time I got my food, that sauce line was probably 10-15 deep.

I came by for their grand reopening BOGO. I was really impressed with how organized the event was. An employee came by to explain the promotion for those in line. From joining a ~20 person line to getting the food was about 30 minutes. I was surprised how good the food - this place had never been on my radar. I'd recommend dining in to appreciate how well fried their chicken katsu is. It is a bit pricey but they are generous with the protein and I had a good amount for takeaway. I think the menu is confusing and overwhelming where the tv scrolls through different platters and it jumps numbers (1, 2, 5, 47) for different combinations of meats. There was constantly a 8 people deep line for diy teriyaki sauce. Given the crowd though, I think the restaurant performed admirably in getting people in and out and all the staff were really nice and patient. The promotion was surprisingly generous with no limits on the BOGO. They gave us coupons too and I'll be back!

Their catering service is great. We've never had any issues and the taste of the food is always consistent.

I genuinely enjoyed the food here and will definitely come back to try other plates on the menu! Came here on Tuesday night around 7pm and it wasn't too busy; food came out fast. I ordered the chicken combo which came with a generous portion of rice, mac salad, and chicken katsu and BBQ chicken over a bed of lettuce. Katsu was delicious and crispy and the BBQ chicken was tender and flavorful. Mac salad was also pretty solid. There was a self-serve sauce station for teriyaki and tonkatsu sauce which was a plus. Both sauces paired great with my order. You definitely get a good bang for your buck here.

I got the kalula pork and the fire island chicken. The total was around 31 dollars which is really pricy for just two meals. The service was fast and they call your number up when its ready. I came around 8:30 amd there were a handful of people still there. The food waa good tho, the fire island chicken was flavorful yet spicy. The kalula pork was good as well and you get a good amount of meat. Theres plenty of tables and good lighting.

My boyfriend and I came here for lunch and had a great experience. The Island Fire Chicken was juicy, packed with flavor, and had just the right amount of heat. It paired well with the perfectly creamy macaroni salad, which had a nice balance of richness without being too heavy. My boyfriend ordered the shrimp, and it was just as flavorful--well-seasoned, tender, and cooked to perfection. The portions were satisfying, and the food definitely hit the spot for a Hawaiian plate lunch.

Food - fast and STILL good. Guys cleaning all the tables and windows with cleaner. Staff courteous and good communication during the Sat noon rush hour. Someone is making an effort here! Thank God. Good job maintaining all these years Ono Grill! Longtime, but irregular customer.

The place is in a big shopping center so there are quite many places to park. The restaurant is very modern and clean, I liked it right away. There are quite a few dishes to choose from. We ordered from the kiosk and I was amazed that how inexpensive this place is. Everything we wanted to order costs less than $15 and seems to be plentiful. I wanted the Cajun Fish Battered Tacos with flour tortillas, french fries and zucchini. There are quite a few types of drinks that are good. My order was made wrong, cajun fish without battered and they fixed it with only one but I didn't want to bother. One cajun fish taco and a battered fish tacos (not cajun), may be the cook couldn't wait to leave because they close early at 6PM due to 250 years of independence. Anyhow, the battered fish is very crispy and delicious, the cajun fish without batter is a little dry but still tasty. The french fries are crispy and good. The zucchini is excellent. For less than $15, my plate is plentiful and tasty. My brother in-law got the protein bowl which looked quite tempting. Next time definitely will make sure they have the Cajun Fish Battered tacos for me LOL. Too bad they don't have one in Fremont. After dinner we went to shop at TJMaxx and nordstrom rack near by, quite nice.

So tonight was the night we felt like going out and didn't feel like cooking. We live less than 10 minutes away, so it was quick and simple. We found a parking spot about a block away. Beautiful Mexican artwork covered the interior walls and the place was festive and colorful. The bar had a modern vibe with words above that read, "Si fueras Tequila te tomarias enserio!" which google translates to, "If you were Tequila, you would be taken seriously." Something to ponder about as you're taking shots or nursing your drink. ***OUR PICKS*** ORDEN DE CEVICHE ~ this ceviche was tart and salty, but a nice starter to get your appetite going. It comes with crackers and tostadas. The shrimp was cooked from all the lime juice. Maybe more cooked than we would have liked, but it was definitely safe to eat. 4/5 CAMARONES A LA DIABLA ~ Giant prawns, Mexican rice, refried beans, a salad and 4 handmade tortillas. This was a generous platter and a fiesta for the eyes!!! The prawns were in a sweet and peppery sauce. My guy wanted some citrus to go with it, but the cut up limes we got were really hard and dry! No juice came out of it. So we ate the perfectly cooked prawns as is. They just needed some citrus to lighten up the flavor. The rice and beans were on point and the salad had an unexpected surprise, guava dressing! I love guava, so naturally I enjoyed the salad! And usually with a spring mix, the dressing is too tart and overpowering. This dressing was perfect, where it was sweet and tart with a lovely flavor! 4.5/5 TROMPO DE PASTOR ~ marinated pork grilled at your table side. It comes with a few pieces of pineapples, chopped red onions, cilantro, grilled green onions, grilled prickly pear cactus pads and 4 handmade corn tortillas. We got a little entertainment while eating this dish! The pork was a tad salty, so I would have liked some rice to balance it out. The rest of the condiments and sauces were good. 4/5 Service was excellent and food was tasty! Food is meant to be shared, but my group all got separate entrees. I ordered the garlic shrimp rice plate, which was filling just for one person. My only complaint was that there wasn't enough shrimp! Flavor was garlicky, but not salty enough. This is probably a good thing, since you can adjust to your own dietary preference. A bit on the oily side (hence filling), but that's to be expected with garlic shrimp. The night we went, there was a birthday party happening in their private room. It was really loud and noisy, so it was hard to hear folks. Our server was nice, but fortunately for us he spoke loud enough for us to hear him despite all the loud music! Parking can be tough as it's in a residential area of DC with most of the parking being residential. So you might need to walk! Overall, I give this place a solid 3.5 stars - tasty food and pretty good service. Knocking down half a star for a somewhat subpar (loud/noisy) ambiance. I'd probably go back again, but for take out only.

This visit, we came determined to finally see what all the hype was about--and I'm so glad we did. The wait was about 30 minutes, which honestly wasn't bad for such a popular spot. The best part? Once we were seated, service was incredibly efficient. Our food arrived quickly, giving us more time to savor every bite. The oysters were as fresh as they come--briny, sweet, and tasting like they had just come out of the bay. We ordered all three grilled oyster varieties, and each one was outstanding. The toppings added layers of flavor without masking what makes a great oyster so special: its delicate natural sweetness. It's a balance that's surprisingly hard to get right, and Hog Island nailed it. Then came the clam chowder. Wow. Velvety, rich, and loaded with tender clams, it had deep, comforting flavor without feeling overly heavy or salty. Easily one of the best clam chowders I've ever had. Now I completely understand why people are willing to wait in line. Some places are all hype--this isn't one of them. Hog Island absolutely lives up to its reputation, and we'll happily be back!
