Ordered a mini BBQ chicken for lunch for $14.27. It was filling for me because I'm a small eater. The amount of chicken and veggies makes for a balanced meal. I would say it's a decent fast casual lunch option with fast service but nothing amazing.

Never noticed this location since the opening for the parking lot is slightly hidden in my opinion. The restaurant is clean, the service is fast and food comes out within 10-15mins. I did run into some communication issues with my order. I ordered two meals with the same exact items and somehow got different items for it and I didn't notice until after I got home. The chicken katsu was very thin and had more breading than meat and the short ribs were a bit tough. The bbq chicken and the macaroni salad was pretty good though.

Grand Opening today January 16, 2026

GRAND REOPENING of this Colma store with a BOGO on any place, NO LIMIT! I saw families with bags of BOGO food, in fact some of the people in front of me right 5 plates and got 5 free! They are giving out random t-shirts and bags until they run out. It's one per individual or group which means let's suppose you went there with your friend and even if you ordered separately because you were near them you may or may not get a free gift. Like I had my own order and my friend had his own order with SEPERATE bills and they would not let him get a t-shirt because he was with me, which mad no sense. Super chaotic and I'm not saying it wasn't true, but there were some old ladies who said they were suffering from heat stroke and were able to cut the line and come inside. I think they cut down on this later because it looks like they were putting a place holder. The DIY sauce line was ridiculous and so was waiting for the food with confusion with the orders when people couldn't produce their receipts half an hour later, maybe they threw them away? Not sure but there were a lot of unhappy people. My seafood platter was not fully fried enough. I had to place the fried shrimp and fish into my airfryer to fry it up more. Also, the lady didn't hear me when I asked for substitute salad instead of rice. Oh well, deal with the crazy if you want. Still a good deal if you can get in and out in under half an hour.

Came here for the 1st time w/ family and it was good!! From ordering to getting our meal was about 15 minutes but it gave us time to get drinks and utensils and condiments. The place was busy but the staff is very good - taking orders and getting them out. The lemon chicken was excellent- loved the flavor! Kalbi short ribs was well flavored- loved the steam cabbage that came with it. Mac salad is better than most - lots of flavor and just enough mayo. Crispy shrimp - really good these guys know how to fry Chicken katsu- loved the breading just wish the chicken was cut a bit thicker ! Musubi - good grill on the spam and loved the sauce Over all a great meal - busy little place but they know how to handle a crowd. The food is good and you get more than enough to fill you up and in some cases have leftovers.

We went here for the grand re-opening on Friday, the line was pretty long but manageable. They had a special going on that day, buy one plate, get one free. The place hasn't changed that much in my opinion. My favorite bbq beef was amazing as usual. It was only missing the cabbage, but I can only imagine because it was crazy busy. Food was hot and fresh, on point as usual. I love the addition of the hula guava pie

After being closed for renovations for 5 months, Ono Colma has finally reopened, and I'm stoked! I got there about 5:15 pm Friday night to take advantage of their Grand Reopening BOGO deal. The line was out the door. However, from the time I got in line to the time I left, it was only about half an hour. They were very efficient and prepared for the mass amount of people they knew they would have. I still have the same complaint though...just the one sauce station. I grabbed my sauces after I ordered and didn't wait too long. But by the time I got my food, that sauce line was probably 10-15 deep.

I came by for their grand reopening BOGO. I was really impressed with how organized the event was. An employee came by to explain the promotion for those in line. From joining a ~20 person line to getting the food was about 30 minutes. I was surprised how good the food - this place had never been on my radar. I'd recommend dining in to appreciate how well fried their chicken katsu is. It is a bit pricey but they are generous with the protein and I had a good amount for takeaway. I think the menu is confusing and overwhelming where the tv scrolls through different platters and it jumps numbers (1, 2, 5, 47) for different combinations of meats. There was constantly a 8 people deep line for diy teriyaki sauce. Given the crowd though, I think the restaurant performed admirably in getting people in and out and all the staff were really nice and patient. The promotion was surprisingly generous with no limits on the BOGO. They gave us coupons too and I'll be back!

Their catering service is great. We've never had any issues and the taste of the food is always consistent.

I genuinely enjoyed the food here and will definitely come back to try other plates on the menu! Came here on Tuesday night around 7pm and it wasn't too busy; food came out fast. I ordered the chicken combo which came with a generous portion of rice, mac salad, and chicken katsu and BBQ chicken over a bed of lettuce. Katsu was delicious and crispy and the BBQ chicken was tender and flavorful. Mac salad was also pretty solid. There was a self-serve sauce station for teriyaki and tonkatsu sauce which was a plus. Both sauces paired great with my order. You definitely get a good bang for your buck here.

I got the kalula pork and the fire island chicken. The total was around 31 dollars which is really pricy for just two meals. The service was fast and they call your number up when its ready. I came around 8:30 amd there were a handful of people still there. The food waa good tho, the fire island chicken was flavorful yet spicy. The kalula pork was good as well and you get a good amount of meat. Theres plenty of tables and good lighting.

My boyfriend and I came here for lunch and had a great experience. The Island Fire Chicken was juicy, packed with flavor, and had just the right amount of heat. It paired well with the perfectly creamy macaroni salad, which had a nice balance of richness without being too heavy. My boyfriend ordered the shrimp, and it was just as flavorful--well-seasoned, tender, and cooked to perfection. The portions were satisfying, and the food definitely hit the spot for a Hawaiian plate lunch.

Food - fast and STILL good. Guys cleaning all the tables and windows with cleaner. Staff courteous and good communication during the Sat noon rush hour. Someone is making an effort here! Thank God. Good job maintaining all these years Ono Grill! Longtime, but irregular customer.

It seems San Francisco real next door neighbor is Daly City and it's usually considered more like a cousin to city of San Francisco. You can find a Wendy's in Daly City and not in San Francisco. One thing you will see in Daly City is a Hawaiian seafood platter just over $10. There is a place where you will find cheap but cheerful Hawaiian food. It's located at the Westlake Shopping Center and it's called Ohana Hawaiian BBQ. On a San Francisco break and on the first day of March Winter stroll in Daly City I landed at Westlake Shopping Center. There are good restaurants at Westlake like Original Joe's ,Blue Line Pizza, Chick &Jajang , Banana Island , Little Rose's Kitchen, and Tiny Sushi. I did try a spot which has Hawaiian BBQ and you can get a seafood plate for the price of a mini plate in San Francisco. Inside Ohana Hawaiian BBQ they have lots of interesting Hawaiian decor. You feel you are at a casual dining spot in Hawaii. I got the seafood platter plate and it was a bit crunchy and the fried fish was fresh and the fried shrimp was okay. Once you dip it with tartar sauce it becomes tastier. The Mac salad was solid. They also sell cheeseburgers and other plates like loco moco and katsu chicken. Also, nothing is served with mac salad... The prices are pretty decent for SF. Maybe that's why this place is popular. They are takeout only and have one bench outside for you to eat at if it's free. Tried the garlic shrimp, the moco loco (idk why they swap the words), and the furikake chicken. Also had a spam musubi (when I ordered online for pick up, I couldn't add egg which is usually an option according to the Toast website). The garlic shrimp was missing a flavor that Hawaii has in their garlic shrimp. The color was very red but it was not spicy. They do have an option to make it spicy though. It was bland to me compared to what I'm used to when I visit Hawaii. The moco loco gravy was good, but the beef patty tasted dry and overcooked. They did have a runny egg too but it was oddly underneath the patties, so we broke the eggs while trying to split the beef amongst 3 people. The furikake chicken is probably better if you eat it right away since it's lightly breaded. We took it home so by the time we ate it, it was soggy. The sauce it is cooked in is a little sweet and wasn't too bad. The soggy chicken ruined the texture for me though. Each dish was served with a little bit of cabbage which I liked to get a little greens in the meals. The spam musubi didn't taste like it had any sauce, and they used so much furikake underneath the spam, that it made it taste fishy. Would not recommend. I can't comment on the service much since I ordered online for pickup. The guy who handed me my food after asking my name was nice and polite though. The only reason I'd come back is to try to the shave ice. The group in front of me got 3 for their kids, and it looked tasty. I would not come back for the food, but at least the prices aren't bad for SF standards.

Like, when you can't even wait to get home, you have to eat it immediately while it's hot. I knew right then it had to be worth trying. I asked where he got it, and he pointed me to a spot just down the street (not to be confused with the other Hawaiian BBQ place close by called Aloha). I pass this place all the time, but the parking is terrible, so I usually just keep driving. Yesterday I happened to be on foot and finally stopped in. I noticed a PASS inspection sticker in the window (isn't it usually an A? I'll Google that later). It's strictly a food shop. No tables, no décor, nothing fancy. Just a big menu on the wall type of place. The menu is simple about 4-5 meat options and a few sides, and you build your combo. I ordered a small plate since I tend to overeat and appreciated that option. I got the chicken katsu with rice and mac salad and it was perfectly portioned. The chicken was great. No notes. The steamed rice was just a little overcooked but still tasty. The mac salad was decent, though I expected a bit more from what seemed like an authentic spot. Oh and of course, the sauce, so good. My only complaint is they need to pack two sauces in the to go bag, not one. Total came to $10.85, which feels like a steal. It completely satisfied me and definitely beats driving all the way to Chipotle (my usual lunch stop) and spending $15-$18. No photo because I was too hungry and ate it in the car. I'm excited to bring my husband back and see what he thinks.
