ONO? O-YES! It's slow livin on the island of Hawaii, but Ono Hawaiian BBQ is fast food island-style. You won't see workers dressed in grass skirts and coconuts; that would be a safety hazard and numerous lawsuits waiting to happen. However, the food does not disappoint as it is always fresh and flavorful. I appreciate that it is not the typical burger and fries joint. Yet the food can be enjoyed by all. Definitely a place that is good for families because they have items like Teriyaki Chicken, Crispy Shrimp and Pork Katsu that are all crowd-pleasers. Salad with the Sesame Ginger dressing is so simple yet refreshing. If you haven't had the macaroni salad, then you are missing out because it is a staple on the island and it is done right here on the mainland. This place even has a drive thru. Order ahead online and pick up so you don't have to drag the family out of the car. Unlike Yoko Ono, Ono Hawaiian BBQ makes you want to come back for more. Ono lives up to it's Hawaiian meaning, '"delicious, tasty, savory; to relish, crave; deliciousness, flavor, savor' Ono will have you saying 'Oh Yes!'

If you're looking for a solid Hawaiian comfort food fix, Ono Hawaiian BBQ really delivers! I got the BBQ Chicken plate, and everything hit just right! The chicken was tender, juicy, and had that delicious smoky-charred flavor that pairs perfectly with the sweet-savory sauce. The rice was sticky and fluffy--just how I like it--and I added some extra sauce on top (always add extra sauce) for that flavor boost. And the mac salad? Creamy, cool, and super satisfying (who knew that Mac salad would go with this). It balanced the plate beautifully. Generous portions, fast service, and consistently good food. Whether you're new to Hawaiian BBQ or it's your go-to, Ono always brings that aloha flavor, and it's always on point. 100%. Highly recommend if you're craving something hearty, tasty, and quick! Will definitely be back for another plate soon! Mahalo, Ono Hawaiian!

My bf and I came here yesterday for lunch. I had the chicken and beef combo which came with the macaroni salad, rice, and veggies. Sooo good! My bf had the katsu plate with beef, rice, and veggies. He tore it up. The service was nice but didn't call out our order and just had our food sitting for a minute but it was still delicious. Nice sized portions and yummy. I'll be back.

Who doesn't like a good plate lunch?? We ordered takeout from Ono before and really like how they cook their chicken and kalbi! We had recently come by for pick up from over the weekend and placed it. We did have to wait an additional 10 minutes for our pick-up, but the wait wasn't too bad, and they were very busy. The mac salad is fairly decent, but the chicken is so good. Either way, this location seems to have become more busy, so prepare for that

Ono Hawaiian BBQ Celebrates its 98th Store with the Opening of its Newest Ground-Up Location in Gilbert, AZ The food & service was top notch! Atmosphere was clean, opening & bright. Greeted by two sweet staff members right as I walked in. Served with a smile & great conversations while I waited for my meal. Took it as a "to go" order. There were a few diners inside the restaurant & noticed the drive thru was packed. Had the Island Fire Chicken which is chicken slices marinated in their special blend of spices, then grilled with onions and tossed with their spicy Island Fire Sauce. It was fire LOL. Included with this meal is two generous scoops of white rice a delicious macaroni salad and choice of a side-which I went the Crab Rangoon (3 pcs) Faux crab meat and cream cheese in crispy wonton skins. They were good especially with their signature dipping sauce. Side counter has plenary or options for the grabbing! Ono's teriyaki & Katsu sauces, soy sauce, sriracha and more! Ono Hawaiian BBQ is a family-owned. Love to support these types or business. Will definitely be back!

Love the taste of the meats the cabbage was soft but still had crunch and the rice was.....well plain white rice nothing ooooh aaaaah about that. There was flavor in the meat and I can eat the beef everyday!! Large portion to satisfy the craving now and leftovers later. Definitely will eat here again. Staff was also very friendly, quick and accurate. Great customer service.

We sat at the bar and had a view of the entire restaurant including the kitchen. The place is a well-run and oiled machine. Best quality seafood in the valley. We had to wait about 10 minutes until we were seated. It is loud in the restaurant, but not horrible. It was a little difficult to hear our server. I believe her name was Rose. Hubby got water & beer. I got water & Tito's & cranberry juice. They definitely were a heavy pour. I wish they would give you a stir sick to stir the mixed drinks because I had to stir mine. I ended up using my knife to stir it. We ordered the dinner rolls. They were really good yeast rolls. I do wish they were served with butter, but they were good. Hubby ordered the beef ribs since we've never had beef ribs & they come with Carolina Gold sauce, which we love. I read in reviews that the sauce was spicy. They must have changed the recipe because I don't do spicy at all, & the sauce was not spicy to me. My level of spicy is Taco Bell mild. The sauce was really good. Hubby liked his ribs, but wouldn't get them again. They were super tender, but a bit fatty. There wasn't as much meat on the ribs as you would think. I got the crab cakes. I switched my side to a loaded baked potato. There was no charge to switch. The crab cakes were really good, There is no filler, but a crispy panko on top. I was disappointed in my baked potato because it was hot or even warm. I also had shell pieces in both of my crab cakes. This is the reason for only 4 stars. They gave us a card, a complimentary box of macaron cookies, & put a message on the board wishing us a happy 33rd anniversary as we left. The service was good, & the food was good. Due to the price we will only come for special occasions. We don't typically spend $180 with tip for a meal regularly.

Spice level was medium and went with the 88 Special seasoning (a combination of cajun, garlic butter, and lemon pepper) - AMAZING flavor!! This place looked like it did a good seafood boil and was located near where our hotel was. Upon entering we were greeted and sat right away. He ordered a shrimp basket while I ordered my usual snow crab. Heads up, all the supplies will be brought in the bottom of the discard bucket like gloves, lemons, and crab crackers. I wasn't aware of this, and placed all the discarded items on top of it while eating bareheaded as I didn't see supplies, and no one was around to ask. Usually places will bring on the side, and I wish I was told that in advance when it was brought to the table. It made for quite the mess, but if we return I'll know for next time. Once our server returned to check in after 10+ minutes that's when we were advised, and I adjusted though I had put my boil bag in there so most had been soiled. As for the food, he liked his shrimp while I thought the crab was okay in flavor/spice. It didn't really standout out like other places I've been to recently, but overall I would return if I was in the area.

A Hidden Gem You NEED to Try - Don't Let This Place Stay a Secret!…read moreI've been to Sage & Barrel Craft Eatery a few times now, and every visit leaves me wondering why this place isn't packed every single night. We stopped in on a Monday evening and had the whole vibe almost to ourselves--such a shame because this spot is seriously awesome and deserves a full house! The atmosphere is so vibey--warm, inviting, perfectly lit with that perfect mix of casual and upscale that makes you want to settle in and stay awhile. It feels special without being stuffy, great for date nights, family dinners, or just unwinding with friends over craft beers (their selection is impressive--40+ local options with plenty on tap). But the real star? The food. Everything is scratch-made with fresh, high-quality ingredients, and you can taste the care in every bite. Deeply flavorful, innovative twists on classics, generous portions, and consistently excellent. Whether you go for the Nashville hot chicken and waffles, fish & chips, burgers, or whatever catches your eye, it's all done right. No frozen junk here--just real, delicious food that keeps you coming back. Queen Creek (and the East Valley) needs more places like this. Support local, support quality, and help keep this gem thriving so it doesn't disappear. We'll definitely be back--next time on a busier night so more people can discover it! If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and go. Tell your friends. Mondays (and every night) deserve Sage & Barrel. You won't regret it.
