We're regulars at this place. Wednesday date night! The sushi is one of the best in clovis. Fresh! If you're in clovis you must try it. I've ran into people here that are trying it for the first time and say they will definitely come back. Turning newbies into regulars! =)

I love this place! My mom and I are regulars and we always get treated like family. The servers are awesome they remember our order every single time! They are attentive and always have a smile on their face. Caesar is also great and such a sweetheart. The food is always on point and the vibe is very chill. They play different kinds of music which I don't mind at all. This is our favorite sushi spot and we will continue to come here!!

I think I ordered the Central Valley Roll--definitely a bit on the pricier side, but wow, it was absolutely worth it! And can we talk about how beautifully it was presented, even in a takeout box?! Hopefully I have the opportunity to try some of their other rolls!

We came into Ooi on a whim during a craving for sushi. A must try is the crispy soft shell crab! We loved it so much we got a second order. The spicy miso soup paired perfectly with my jalapeno bomb appetizer. Sushi rolls were also delicious, my husband inhaled the lucky dice roll. Staff was friendly and prompt and the restaurant was nice and clean. Five out five recommend Ooi

Excellent service and excellent sushi, and we are picky! Prices were very fair. This roll tasted every bit as good as it looked! We loved our experience and can't wait to go back!

The sushi here is decent, plus the location is amazing... It's literally across the street from my neighborhood! This time around we ordered our sushi for pick up and when I arrived, I still had to wait about 10 minutes for it to be ready. Honestly, I'm totally fine with that. I'd rather know the sushi literally just left the chef knife rather than it's sitting around. I'm pretty basic when it comes to sushi. I ordered a caterpillar roll and the El Dorado roll. The caterpillar roll is crab meat, rolled in rice and topped with avocado and unagi sauce. Super basic, but delicious. I've never had the El Dorado roll before, but I loved it. This roll is huge and filled with soft shell crab, avocado, spicy minced tuna, and topped with ahi tuna on top. The ahi tuna had a firm texture and tasted very fresh. This was my favorite roll of the evening. This place is pretty tiny so if you plan to dine in, make sure to get here early for prime seating. Either in the dining room or at the sushi bar. Just belly up, sip a beer, and watch the chefs do their magic.

It's been years and this is still my go to sushi spot. I always know I am going to get solid, fresh and large portions. The staff are friendly and efficient. They've recent cleaned/changed decor and updated menus. It's not the fanciest place but that doesn't matter to me. I recommend Ooi to everyone!

Ooi is our go to sushi place for Clovis! We're treated like family when we come and are always greeted warmly. The sushi rolls are huge with large portions of fish which makes it nice because you pay the same amount for a roll as some other sushi restaurants that are half the size, so the value seems great! They will also make special rolls for you if you have something in particular in mind, although their menu is extensive! My favorites are Lucky Dice, Hot Mama, Titanic, and Fresno.

Pictured here is the Caesar Roll. It's excellent!

I've been going to Ooi for years. I've enjoyed the sushi and the lunch combos very much. If you're look for great food, a friendly staff with an inviting atmosphere then look no further than Ooi Japanese cuisine.

This place has never disappointed me for sushi. But, just know, that the service isn't always the greatest. Today when I went, me and seven other people sit outside for 15 minutes waiting for the restaurant to open. The restaurant didn't open until we called and asked them to please open the door. Today my guests and I ordered the white dragon roll, and the avocado bomb. The white tiger roll had some perfectly cooked shrimp tempura on the inside and it's a generous size roll. The sauces are just OK here. Nothing really that special, but the sweet teriyaki sauce is always nice on top of a good roll. We also got the avocado bomb. Artificial crab, mayo, tempura crunchies, and avocado. It was incredibly delicious. There was no rice, so it was the perfect accompaniment to a sushi roll. All in all, this is one of my favorite places to go and grab some sushi. Price isn't that bad for the large portions. And every time I've visited the fish has always been fresh.

    Lunch Box #2 Teriyaki Beef

Had the Lunch Box #2 Beef Teriyaki, it's absolutely delicious! Beef is soooo tender and teriyaki sauce is flavorful. Side salad and rice on point! And so is the tempura combo! Definitely recommend!

I got the f-23 orange blossom roll but theres so many rolls

Absolutely love this place the sushi always come out in a big generous portion and the presentation never disappoints. There's so many choices on the menu I try something new every time.

Great tasting ramen!…read more My family and I made this place a pit-stop for dinner on a Sacramento to Los Angeles trip. Our original target was the Fresno location, but due to a GPS entry error, we ended up at their Clovis location! It was a little longer drive than usual, but still well-worth the drive. And besides, we were on a family long weekend break so who cares about distance... Our orders were quickly taken on the counter and we were off to find our table. A lot of places to choose from inside and outside seating was also available. And the place was nicely decorated and well-lit! Feels comfortable to dine inside! The menu was quite expansive. And you even have the choice of minor changes to the regular menu. I ordered an Oxtail Ramen...a first of this kind for me, so I just had to have it. And it passed with flying colors! Weird ingredient...but absolutely tasty! And at a really affordable price range! You just have to try our this place when you're in the area! You will love it!

Good amount of tables and seats. Simple, minimal decor and it was clean, from what I can remember. He got the Shoyu Ramen (#2) and I got the Spicy Miso Ramen (#4). We both agreed the broth wasn't as hot as we'd like and could use just a touch more flavor. Both were okay, but I preferred my broth more. I wish I paid attention to the fact that mine came with THIN noods though... I feel like I would've enjoyed my dish way more with thick noodles. To be honest, I should have done the build-your-own Ramen and selected everything I wanted myself... now I know. You live and you learn. The Wontons were good but we didn't eat much of it, as it came out the same time as the ramen. Once the ramen was served, our main focus was on that and that filled us up! Packed the rest to go. For this being our first time, it wasn't bad but it didn't wow us. If I'm being honest, so far-- the best Ramen we've ever had was in a small little shop we found while in Thailand back in March (yup, Thailand!). Unfair to this rating maybe? But-- every ramen I try will be compared to that now (sorry, it was THAT good). Until next time, which there will be a next time (just unsure how soon that will be)... they get a middle placement.

The menu presented extensive and adventurous options that as first timers could have been intimidating but with the help of Donavin our delightful server, we selected the perfect seafood salad for the Mrs. and the curated selection of Maki (delicious sushi "tacos") that together made for the perfect share. Whether you're craving sushi, teriyaki, or ramen, they really have something for everyone. The sushi and sashimi are incredibly fresh -- honestly some of the freshest fish we've had at any sushi restaurant. It tastes like the chef went out and caught it that morning. The 14-piece sashimi platter with a couple of rolls was more than enough for two people, and everything was excellent quality. The ramen is also fantastic, but fair warning: the bowls are HUGE, so definitely come hungry. Their garlic edamame is absolutely addictive, and we really enjoyed the poke in the seaweed poke salad, though the dish does lean very heavily on the seaweed, so just keep that in mind before ordering. It was summer in the valley, and it was hot. There was no AC inside, just fans, and we were literally sweating during our entire meal. It was quiet, very dark, and not clean--sticky floors and menu. The service was nice, but not very attentive. Regarding the food, we got two Bento Boxes and one Caterpillar Roll. For the price, the portion was good, but the quality and taste weren't the best. The tempura was really thick, and the shrimp was reminiscent of the frozen Costco shrimp tempura. The sashimi was stringy and of poor quality. The rolls we had were falling apart, and the avocado was mushy and not fresh. Everything we had was subpar at most, which is a shame considering how vast the menu is (lol at their AI pictures though). I wouldn't come back nor recommend what we got. When it was time to get some food the next day, my daughter wanted to come here. It was a very hot day so my wife stayed home. It was just the kids and I. Walking in, I was curious to know how much the place changed since Tiger Bite Bowls closed. Not a whole lot really. The interior is very simple. Like a pho restaurant. We sat and looked at the menu. I know Teriyaki bowl is in the name, but I didn't see any bowls on the menu....not that I wanted one. Just an observation. Essentially the options are plates and sushi, so we did 2 of each, and later took a dragon roll home. Coming inside, it was initially welcomed because of how hot it was outside. But as our bodies began to cool down, I started to notice that it was a little warm in the restaurant too. It wasn't hot, but clearly they were concerned with their PG&E bill. I think one of the younger workers who arrived later noticed it too, because after they got there, the room temperature went down to a comfortable level again. As for the food, I was telling my daughter that it's too bad we didn't find Miso Hungry that day we were on the hunt for fried rice. Instead we had that horrible restaurant in Clovis. I think the only thing missing was the show you normally get with a tepanyaki restaurant. Was the good at the level of Hino Oisi or Edo-ya? Not quite, but it was still good. I like my fried rice a bit more crispy. The sweet and spicy sauce was an added bonus. Goes great on the fried rice! On everything really. Be sure to ask for some. As is always the case, one sushi roll isn't enough to fill a person up, so my son and daughter were still a little hungry. This is universal so no knock on Miso. I had my fill with my chicken plate and was able to share. I think the surprise was my son getting the salmon plate. So why only 3 stars? It's a hole in the wall, as evidenced by the fact that the restroom is out back in the alley, a few doors down. Nothing against a restaurant being a hole in the wall, but for $100 for 5 plates, no drinks, the food better be great, not just good. I feel like Miso is this areas version of Teriyaki Don, except Teriyaki Don is cheaper, with more options. I'm sure we will be back. Hopefully by then the menu will have expanded to include Teriyaki bowls or something

It is my barometer for how good everything else will probably be. It was good. I also ordered the Kimono Roll while my wife had Shogun roll. We also tried the Chicken Gyoza. Everything was terrific. Excellent taste and fresh. Next time someone asks me about Fresno I'll say "Fresno! They have good sushi there". Definitely Recommended.
