Hit and miss with this place. I'm not sure if they have different cooks. I've had the pad see yew, shrimp fried rice, wonton soup, and veggie soup. I like this place because they deliver so I order often. The last time I ordered from them I had the shrimp fried rice and veggie soup. The fried rice was way under cooked. The veggie soup on the other hand was tasteful until I found a hair in it. I was so disgusted. I'm only sharing this post because although I like their food (hit and miss) I was disappointed after reaching out to them they did not respond about me not being satisfied with my last order. If I'm loyal I expect the same loyally back. People in the Artesia and Cerritos area know we have a wide selection of Thai food near by. I pick up food at Magic Wok next door ALL the time and I'm actually mad at myself for not noticing this place sooner considering I live five minutes away and Thai food is my favorite Asian cuisine. At least now my eyes have been opened. I absolutely love how it's a hole in the wall. There's no fancy decor, it's an open kitchen, and the plates look like the ones I have at home. I believe it's family owned and I appreciate that about restaurants. I always judge a Thai restaurant by how good their pad kra pow is because it's my favorite dish, so I'm super happy that theirs passed. It's really yummy and when I ask for it spicy, it's actually spicy. You ought to see how many chili peppers they put in there. I also like that they put a lot of sauce because I like to eat my rice with it. I've also tasted the pad see ew and it has a bit of that smoky flavor with a little bit of sweetness in the sauce. Drove by this place a few times, and finally decided to give it a try. The Thai food was amazing. I ordered the tom yum soup, pad thai, and yum woon sen salad. All three dishes were delicious and flavorful. The pad thai, in particular, had a nice smokiness from the wok. It takes technique to achieve the smoky flavor from a wok, so it's clear the chefs here have good technique. Also, I liked that the chefs respect your spice preference here. Usually, I'm wary of ordering even medium spice levels at Thai places because the dishes tend to be very spicy even at only a medium, relative to other cuisines like Korean. Ordered a medium spice level for all the dishes here and the spice was completely manageable. If you want a good kick of spice, you probably could go to the Spicy level here and it would be manageable. The prices were cheap and portions were generous, especially given the inflation happening the past few months. Their Thai Tea's a steal at only $2.50 a cup! Of the Thai places I've tried in the Artesia and Cerritos area, Original Thai's had the best flavor and the best bang for your buck. Ordering pickup online/by phone was easy. They're still taking covid precautions seriously, so I felt extremely safe picking up which is much appreciated given the delta surge. We were in the area and decided to look for a Thai restaurant. This popped up in Yelp and decided to give it a try. It's a small family own place and seems like they had a lot more take outs than people that eat in. It's a small and cute place,nothing special but the food was delicious. The server was fast and efficient and the cook heard what we order and started to make our meals. We were served and eating about 10min later. They have tables, but apparently no waiter service - if you dine in, you still pay first at the counter, and they just bring the food to your table. After that, don't expect any service - short of any that comes from getting their attention. Parking is not difficult to obtain here, but due to the limited seating availability inside the restaurant, take-out is probably going to be the best option most of the time here. Stopped by for lunch a couple of days ago. It is a small place in a large plaza off Pioneer and Artesia and is a little hidden behind Magic Wok. When I entered around 1:30 it felt like primarily a take out place with a couple of tables complete with an open kitchen. I was directed to one of the tables after the server or cook who was having her lunch there was shooed away to another table. I went for the Thai boat noodle soup ($7.50) which was prepared in under ten minutes. Taste wise it was not the best that I have ever had but it was pretty good. Each restaurant has its own unique twist to the traditional boat noodle soup. The one here was not overly spicy when I started out but towards the last one third it became very spicy so my advise would be to give the soup a good stir to evenly distribute all the spices. The noodle's were standard glass noodles and the soup had different cuts of beef making for an interesting combination of textures as you progressed with the soup. The server was very sweet and friendly. They do accept cards but with a $10 minimum which makes it primarily a cash only place. This place is a gem amidst crappy hole in the wall restaurants on the strip. Their Panang Chicken is delicious, their Pad See Ew has the smokey taste that makes it a delight to eat, and their Tom Yum Gum is just yum! The closest comparable to this place is Sweetie Thai. However, Original Thai wins because of affordability. Their menu prices will save you at least $2 per dish compared to Sweetie Thai's, but with the same serving size, presentation, and preparation. I also appreciate the fact that it's the matriarch of the family doing the cooking. The staff are really polite too. If it matters to anyone, they use real household plates, Corelle, in fact. Their utensils are from Ikea. For me, those little things give the place a homey touch. This place is worth coming back to. Highly recommended. read more

This is one of favorite Thai restaurants. I often go here for a quick lunch. My favorite dish here is definitely the crispy pork with Chinese broccoli. I've tried other dishes here and it's decent, but I highly recommend the crispy pork. This dish is #Thinsulin approved. It was spicy, noodles were not overcooked, and the DUMPLINGS they put in the soup were absolutely delicious. This place recently opened near Del Taco. It's a small place, so it's a little hard to find. They offer lunch specials for $6.50 and you can add a drink for $.75 more. The lunch specials come with rice, salad, and an egg roll. So we ordered the Pad Thai and Pad See Ew lunch specials, and it was tasty. The flavors were spot on and was quite fulfilling. However, the portions were a little smaller than expected. This place has limited seating. There are only 3 tables that fit 2 people, and one table that fits 4 people. They do offer jalapenos and chili sauce, but you have to scoop it yourself. They are located next to the drink fountain. Overall, a good place for quick Thai food. read more
