There papaya salad and deep fried chicken wings is my favorite. I usually get the wings plain with no sauce, it pairs really well with all the flavor from the papaya salad. So from the outside, you might wonder...should I enter? But don't be fooled by the small size and strip mall location...people there are very friendly and the food was worth trying. My friend and I really enjoyed the dishes, we got the Pad See Ew, the yellow curry, mango/sticky rice, and my friend got the Thai Ice Tea (yes free re-fills). Everything was delicious. I think the portions may be a tad smaller than a typical serving, but it was made fresh and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We even had some leftover! We got there about 12:15 pm and there was no one there, but it got crowded about 1-1:30 pm. I'm a fan, definitely going back soon!! read more

I go here during my lunch breaks. The food is amazing, but the place is super tiny. I usually order to go. My go to order is the pad kee mao with pork, but I also really like their spicy fried rice and the pad thai. There are plenty of Thai places in the area, and this is my favorite by far. Came here since Renu Nakorn by my house was closed! Don't regret it one bit. Ordered the chicken pad thai, chicken panang curry, and Tom kah Kai! Everything tastes delicious and in comparison to Renu Nakorn, I'd chose either restaurant any day. I also believe the prices here to be a bit cheaper than Renu Nakorn. So this place is pretty small and nothing you would look at again if you've never tried it. Walking in though you'll see that it's a small run place and a little dirty. My experience so to speak was enjoyable. I came with a group of 6 and sadly for this place it can't handle big groups. I assume most people get take out or come here to eat alone. The place doesn't have a waiter like someone who goes around taking orders it's more over the counter ordering. My family and I got crab fries rice, yellow curry, soup, pad thai, and another order I forget (there was a mix up in orders but it wasn't the restaurants fault). The food to me was delicious probably the best Thai food I've had in years. I really want to give this place a 5 star rating honestly but something's in this place just bugged me. The only bathroom is in the back requiring you to go through the kitchen to get there and honestly it's not a huge problem but it's a little awkward having to squeeze into right quarters like that. Another thing that bugged me was the cleanliness, the place can get a little dirty. A lot of this I feel is due to the placement of the restaurant but honestly if this place had a bigger working space, an actual waiting staff it would be the most popular Thai restaurant in the area. This place is awesome for food, not decor. Got's to be our favorite thai place in the area and even like it better than the much hyped place in Norwalk. Yellow curry is bomb. Shrimp fried rice is also very good. Boat noodles, give it a try. As others have said, this isn't a first date kinda place, but the food is very good. I get mostly to go, you need to order online. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because the inconsistency of the spiciness level. Some times you order mild and get medium and order medium and get mild. I was on my way to Magic Wok, when i walked into the establishment (for the 1st time) i was greeted by some dirty looks by the ladies behind the counter. I don't know what the hell was going on, but i was in already a bitchy mood and didn't want to put up with any BS b/c i was not in a position to be patient with anyone who i haven't given birth to or married to. :P So, i opened the door and closed it right away. I walked over to Original Thai and a customer who was walking out smiled enthusiastically and said "They have GREAT food!" as i walked in a nice older man behind the counter, one other man and a lady all smiled at me. It was already starting off better. I ordered the basics (Pad Thai, Shrimp fried rice, Cashew Chicken and Pannang. ) 1st thing i was surprised with is that they prepared my food RIGHT in front of me! I was happy to know that there wasn't anything TOO special about special ingredients. 2nd thing - They let me try the food when it was done and YUM! Long story short here ppl... the food here is no joke. It's fantastic, it tastes fresh and something i'd imagine that would taste like at a family gathering. I've gotten take out from here quite a few times and the food is always consistently delicious! It has become my go to Thai place. The butterfly shrimp are golden crispy goodness, they come with great dipping sauces. The vegetable egg rolls are tasty and also have an amazing dipping sauce! We were actually pretty impressed by this little restaurant. The pad thai was quite good, BBQ chicken was great, chicken satay was flavorful and juicy. Chinese broccoli with crispy pork was crunchy and very well executed. Most places end up overcooking this dish, not so here. Service was really good, the owner kept checking up on us and made sure we were ok. Would definitely come back if we're in the area. Writing this review as I'm sitting here eating my delicious Panaang Curry with chicken and my Tom Yum soup with chicken as well.... delicious! I love that I ordered it and it was ready by the time I got there (took me about 25 minutes to make my way over there)... The flavors were on point with the tom yum soup (even though I ordered the tom kha but I understand that on the telephone sometimes things get lost in translation and I didn't notice until I got home BUT still yummy!) The panaang curry is good, but the coconut flavor isn't as strong, I think I'm just used to a very strong coconut flavor, but its still good. I definitely will be coming back here because it's not as busy as the other thai places in the area and the food is good and the kitchen looked super clean (open kitchens are the best). read more

Had hopes because it is near work and I used to Eat24 app to order my food for pick up. It was ready on time and the ladies working there were very sweet. She asked me to pay again even though the invoice says "PREPAID" across it. I ordered pork and she opened the container, looked at it puzzled, I said "Yes, I ordered pork" and she smiled and said "Looks yummy to me!" shut the box and sent me on my way. This is one of my favorite Thai restaurants. The workers are all very nice and helpful. I really like the fact that they give free refills on Thai Iced Tea. My favorites are the papaya salad and the Dynamite Wings with no sauce. I personally think that the Dynamite Wings taste much better when you order them with no sauce and just have them fry it with salt and pepper. Trust me, it doesn't taste plain at all. And the wings go great with the papaya salad. I recommend that you don't get the Tom Yum Noodle Soup unless you like your soup EXTREMELY SWEET. Also, if you're a person who likes spicy food, you won't get it here. Even if you order your food extra spicy, it won't be spicy at all. Overall, this is a great Thai restaurant. read more

Definitely my favorite Thai place in Cerritos. The restaurant itself is located in a strip adjacent to Magic Wok for all you Filipino folks. Walk in and find yourself an open table (hopefully your party isn't more than about 5... otherwise good luck) There are about two tables that seat a group of five while there are four or so tables that seat parties of two. As you ca tell, there is not much in the way of dining in if the place is super busy. Personally, I've never went during a time that I couldn't get a seat. On the other hand, I've never been during peak dining hours. Original Thai offers dine in, take out, AND delivery. SCORE! Now I know where to go for all those lazy, I want to bum on the couch, not get dressed, and be a glutton evenings. Prices are very reasonable, the owner is eager to give great customer service, and the food is delicious. In my book, those are the key ingredients to a great restaurant that have earned my return patronage Recommend - angel wings - panang - tangerine chicken (has an interestingly light crispy texture to it) Only problem I've really had is that when I tell them to make a dish EXTRA spicy... it doesn't really come out that way. read more

I love the food here. It taste authentic and has a lot of flavors. I usually order the pineapple fried rice with tofu and it's delicious. They give you a generous amount of food. My food is ready within minutes. I just order over the phone and my food is already ready. They have one of the best thai teas. It taste very authentic. If you have an order over $20 over the phone, you get a free Thai tea. This is definitely a plus. They have some very good appetizers. There is a lot of options and all of the options I have tried so far are delicious. As you walk in, you can see your food being made and I like that because I know my food is being made in an clean environment. Actually, it is not like a restaurant, but more like a FAST-FOOD Thai take-out. However, the food is cooked-to-order. I ordered Thai Boat Noodles ($6.95). The description says "Thin Noodles, Beefball, Beef, and Brisket." So, I was like hey, no liver, cool! ...........=( There was so much Liver. Honestly, there was more liver than beef. Oh yeah, and there's tripe. The beef and beef brisket was not tasty at all. The beef tasted old. It's the best I can describe it. You just have to try it in order to taste what I did. --I did enjoy the water crest inside the soup! :) --The soup had a well-balanced, tasty broth --Fountain drinks available, easy access to free soda/water refills --Friendly staff --The food is cooked behind the register, it makes me want to visit Thailand! Not very familiar with this area but am I glad to find this little hole in a big wall! After riding 1 hour on my scooter from HB to Lakewood Scooters to get an oil change, my friend picked me up and showed me around her neck of the woods. And for those of you that don't ride these AWESOME transportation mopeds, they really take a lot out of you and you get real hungry! I asked around for what was good and all I got was these chained restaurants we've been to before, BJ's, Red Robin, ect. Searched up for some good eats and Original Thai came up. Walked, the young worker there was friendly, said pad thai was the usual choice for people. So my friend and I each got an order of pad thai and some homemade thai tea. Price was cheap $7~ per entree and it hit the spot. My only complaint was to have more meat in the dishes! Though not a place to drive all the way for an hour to on your trendy scooter, it is a nice clean place to get some thai when you most need it! Oh and thai tea had free refills! The woman who took our phone order and assisted us at the restaurant was very nice, so thumbs up on service. Reasonable prices. Our order: Chicken Satay - Tender and flavorful, served with a peanut sauce and cucumber-red onion garnish. Hubby loved it. Sauce was a bit thick for my taste, but the garnish makes up for it. Veggie Soup - Clear broth with lots of green veggies. Very flavorful and satisfying. Pad Thai - Standard ingredients, good. Yellow Curry with Chicken - Delicious! Tender pieces of chicken, chunks of carrots and potatoes, in a not-too-thick curry with just a hint of sweetness. Among the best I've had. Yellow curry is one of our favorite Thai dishes and this one does not disappoint. Oh, a nice treat - take out orders get freebies. Orders of $15 minimum get a free soft drink or Thai tea, $30 minimum get free egg rolls, and $50 minimum gets you a free order of chicken fried rice. We will definitley be back. My cousin and I decided to try a new Thai food place. We are both Thai enthusiasts, and like to think we know our Thai food. We stopped by this place, and weren't expecting what we received, because we have pretty high standards. But apparently, this a 100% authentic Thai food restaurant. Upon entering, we were greeted by the owners who apparently were all there eating their favorite dishes. We ordered pad Thai, yellow curry and papaya salad, with two orders of sticky rice. My favorite Thai dish is the pad Thai, so I was excited to try it. My goodness, the food was amazing. Absolutely my new favorite place. The pad thai was the perfect consistency and authentically flavored. It was fantastic. The yellow curry and papaya salad were also amazing, probably the best I've ever had. We were also treated amazingly, with the owners giving us samples of Thai dishes that were their favorite, such as nam tok (waterfall), which was amazing. I can't even describe it. Also, we were given lap, which was so interesting and extremely flavorful and zesty. I walked out with an extremely full stomach, and my only complaint was that my stomach wasn't bigger. By far the best Thai food I have ever had, and a culinary experience to remember. I shook the owners hand, and walked out humming the Rocky anthem to myself. Amazing! Bravo! The food is always good here. I have tried the coconut milk shrimp as well as the chicken soup! I love it. Has the right amount of spice and lemon grass flavor. I have also tried the red chicken curry has a very nice coconut spice flavor. As well as some noodles that were spicy with bell pepper and bean sprouts. Here is a tip though it is more like a fast food place. You have to go to the counter to order then they will either call you up to pick up your food or if it's not busy they bring it to you. There Thai tea is also quite good. I am now a BIG FAN OF THEIR DRUNKEN NOODLE! It is beyond amazing. And to finish it off with some mango sticky rice. read more

Should have taken it as a bad sign when the driver pulled up in front of my house (albeit across the street), then pulled forward several houses and wandered around looking for my address (which is printed very clearly on the curb, directly within view of his original parking spot). I requested "Not Spicy" Pad See Ew, got super spicy. I cannot eat spicy foods due to medical issues, which is why I requested Not Spicy on the Eat24 website. Requested two Diet Cokes, received two HOT regular Cokes. Sodas were packaged with the food and absorbed the heat. Undrinkable, even if I could have regular Coke. When I attempted to call to have the situation corrected, I was rushed off the phone. Tried to call back and the phone rang for five minutes straight. Hung up and blocked my number on caller ID... and they picked up immediately. Was talked over and rushed off the phone again, being told the owner would call me back, because the driver had not returned. I just wanted my money back (order was $22.84, I paid $25 cash), but was told the driver didn't have a cell phone, so they would have to wait until he returned. I will likely never see that $25 and now I have to settle for a tiny box of rice for lunch. Awesome. Thanks so much, Original Thai! UPDATE: They replaced the entree and sodas, requesting food and sodas back (fine, can't have them anyway) and refunded me. We stumbled upon this place by chance after staying near Buena Park for the night, and man am I thankful for yelp on this occasion. This place is small and their sign in obscure curly-q font doesn't quite help it's publicity but this spot has some damn good thai noodle soup! Boat noodle for the win! We also ordered the spicy fried rice and mango with sticky rice and as much as I love any mango with sticky rice, all I can think about is the boat noodle. As for the spicy fried rice, it was missing the smokey flavor that I can only find in thai fried rices. But all is well because we got the boat noodle! So don't fret about trying something new if it's your first time here, the boat noodle will save you from any ordering failures. P.S. I usually go here whenever I want to stay home, eat, and relax. The place is small, because I get claustrophobic at times I usually do not eat in here. My very first visit here was with my friend for hopefully a quick birthday lunch. Just as our luck would have it we arrived a couple minutes after a group of 5 or 6 people. I was actually worried that we would not be able to have a place to seat, but luckily a table cleared up. It took a while until they got our orders, but it is understandable that there was a good amount of people before us. They made it up by offering my friend a free Thai Iced Tea. My next visits were mainly to go and they were pretty fast. Their food is really good and flavorful. I am only taking one star off, because my last to go order I got egg shells in my Pad Thai. I've had lunch twice here now. I've had the lunch special A-2 which is a healthy portion of food. The service is quick and friendly. It seems like a family owned business which I appreciate and fully support as much as my pocket book allows. There are so many other dishes that look good that I hope to try. It's close to work so I have a feeling I'll be visiting frequently. The dishes are cooked to order with fresh ingredients. 11-8-15 Tried the boat noodles tonight. I'm not a big fan of liver but it went well with the beef, ligaments, and beef balls. I got the food to go 30 minutes before closing and was a little weary for ordering so late but the dish was very good. The noodles and bean sports were separated from the soup base and goodies.
