I just fired Orkin due to their horrific customer service and ineffectiveness in controlling our rodent population. They would make their monthly appointment, but were negligent in communication regarding where to target the rodents and what I needed to be done. On top of that, I was finding snap traps in areas where my pets could access them. Fortunately I found them before they did. I will never ask Orkin to touch my property again. read more

I called 4 times and asked to be connected to a manager (Kyle). Every time they said he would call me back and he never did. This isn't "pest control"--it's a high-priced theater performance where the only victim is your bank account. I paid a premium for "expert" intervention. Instead, a technician showed up, spent five minutes throwing four pathetic traps on the floor, and vanished. I could have done a more thorough job myself for the price of a cup of coffee. It is offensive how little work they actually do for the astronomical price they charge. The mouse is literally mocking me at this point, but Orkin is too busy rescheduling my appointments for the fifth time to care. When you finally get them on the phone, they don't offer solutions--they blame you. Apparently, it's my fault their overpriced, lazy "strategy" failed. Do not fall for the brand name. They are a predatory billing company that occasionally drops off plastic traps. Go to any hardware store, spend $10 on your own gear, and you'll be doing 100% more work than these scammers. If you have bedbugs, don't call Orkin. After two failed heat treatments by Orkin, they came out and applied what they said was essentially Borax to a bedroom. I think that I would have preferred a 4 year old with a toy shovel and pail do the job. I found mounds of white powder on my sisters cabinet next to her bed. There was white powder scattered on a desk. These folks from Orkin obviously had very little training and didn't care about what they were doing. If I could have given this review a 0, I would have. We hired Orkin to deal with our bedbug situation. They were such terrible communicators and so incredibly poorly organized and poorly trained, I don't even have words. They made an already terrible situation (having bedbugs is a nightmare!) exponentially worse. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere. read more

i want to give 0 star if i could. we signed up for one year service for one of our rental property. the tenant report most of time the inspector come and just set up few mouse traps which you can get those traps from the homedepot store. nothing happened. after complain a coupe times, they sent out a inspector seems to know what he is doing. but a couple times the tenant was waiting at home for the inspection scheduling , no one come. however, i received the text said the inspection is completed. after a year, the service auto enrolled without ask us for any approve. now I tried to cancel the service, and they keep turn down. i even tried to remove my card from the auto-pay. they still able to locate my card. and they dont send any email confirm the payment was charge or account is canceled. I called early July and was told my account can't cancel until August because there's pending charge. I tried to pay online, nothing comes up. These people. I cannot regret more my involving them in my pest problems. The last visit was 'free follow up visit' and they went under my house and broke the under the house door. They did not inform me, but left my under the house door broken (I had paid someone to fix it and these are the only folks that went under my home) and basically left it open for mice to get in...which the mice did! For PEST people, these people are complete PESTS themselves! I had to hire another pest company to get rid of the mice and now I have to pay *again* to get the under the house door fixed! I would take time out of my day to call them and reschedule every time. They ended up just showing up on a day that I was not home and spraying only the front of my house. I love our technician Zerius Collins (zee) , he has been serving for more than 2.5 years . He take care of my house like his own house. He is very professional, respectful and courteous employee. You don't really have to watch him or keep eye on him , he does his job from the heart . I had some issues with orkin in past , as I only want Saturday service, I almost left this business and take my business to other companies, but because of Zee "s initiative, he talk to his supervisor and kept me with orkin. He deserve a promotion :) I have not seen anyone who is so dedicated to customers and his company. I hope his company see what an amazing employee they have on their team. Zee does great job , takes time to make sure no corners are left without spray. He is punctual n mindful of my time. He is very mindful of picking the products for spray as he is animal lover n he make sure he is not using any harsh chemicals that can have impact on my dog"s health. At the end of his service he updates me how the spray is working and Checks with me for any concerns. There is a reason they average around 1 star. Customer service is not even a 1-star. I found a brown recluse spider in my bedroom and requested interior pest control service. Twice a "no-show" after I arranged for my cats to be moved out of the home for interior spider treatment. Not even an apology for the no-show. Then, when I called to cancel their services, they told me I have a contract with a 30-day notice. After a 'discussion' with local customer support, they agreed to cancel my contract. read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!! This is a very unprofessional company. I hired them because rodents were coming in my apartment long story short they were absolutely no help in getting rid of them all they did was set glue traps all over my kitchen countertops and floors which did not prevent nor capture them. After four months the problem was starting to get worse and I had to hire someone else to get the job done which they did and thankfully my rodent problem was finally under control I called Orkin to stop service and they stated when I signed up for service I agreed to be locked into a 1yr contract I emailed pictures of how their employee laid the traps everywhere and even set on on top of my toaster and cake platter. Unfortunately Orkin was unable to stand by their guarantee and has to this day have not been successful in catching One mouse. I had to hire someone else to fix the problem. They took my complaint and said they would call me back but never did. On top of that they have their employees come out every other month and spray exterior and check traps however the spray has nothing to do with rodents it's for mosquitoes, they give 5 hour window times and when they show up they don't come to the door, unless you go outside and get them they will not check traps. I am incredibly frustrated with Orkin's handling of our account. We purchased a one-time treatment for our annual pest control, but since April, we've had to call them over 20 times because they keep insisting we're in a contract, which we never signed up for. On 9/17, I received a call from Myles, who was extremely rude and unprofessional. He told me that if I wanted to cancel the "contract," I would need to write a letter. I informed him that we NEVER signed up for any contract, so there was nothing to cancel. The next day, I spoke with a manager named Kyle (or Kylie), who said they don't cancel contracts but would look into it. Once again, I had to explain that we NEVER had a contract to begin with. At this point, it feels like harassment towards me and my wife. I also asked Kyle to follow up with the original technician who performed the service because, during the initial visit, he mentioned a program that I clearly declined. I spoke to a manager that same day, who confirmed the price of the one-time treatment. To make things worse, Myles tried to circumvent a decision my wife and I had already made by calling to "double check" whether we wanted to cancel--something that should never have been an issue to begin with. Now, on 9/18, I've received yet another email and text message about a rescheduled service, despite our repeated attempts to resolve this. This has been a complete time suck, and it's unfortunate that we are now being harassed by their behavior. Review grade is F. I have never had such a bad experience as this was. They breached their contract by not showing up for scheduled visits or showing up when not scheduled and sending a different person. I was told if I did not like the service after the first visit I could cancel. I cancelled after a few visits when their person Reza no longer was assigned. That is when things went bad. I frankly got tired of their inconsistent service. They had a guy call and try to intimidate me into sticking with them and when I said no he tried to tell me I am still obligated to pay for their horrible service. When I said no and hung up, they then tried to charge my account anyway after their customer service rep said I was cancelled. I filed a complaint with the BBB. I don't even know where to begin! All I can say is check out the Yelp reviews for this company specifically reviews that mention Derrik Nesbitt. Orkin was our 1st inspection/quote of many. It ALWAYS pay off to have several inspections/quotes in order to make an informed & educated decision!! 1. He showed up 30 minutes prior to our appointment causing me to leave work earlier than expected. 2. Why did Derrik try to upsell me on something that we had NO need for? I actually believe he noticed my initial concern for the issue at hand. He proposed removing all our attic insulation and replacing with "treated" insulation as a preventive measure. No evidence of any issues going on in our attic were found by the additional 7 companies that came out. And guess how much this unnecessary procedure would cost us? He quoted us $7200 for the attic insulation on top of the fumigation cost of $3000. When we read the actual written proposal the $10,200 quote was written as $11,363.00 plus financing at 22% would have been $14,658.24. What? Wait, I never said we would be financing, why would you ASSUME we would be doing so? 3. Also, he mentioned that the priced would be going up in October and that we needed to schedule ASAP. 4. Once we reviewed the written proposal, we decided to go another route. I sent him a text to inform him we decided not to proceed and if he would please send another quote for the "whole house treatment" so we could take that into consideration. 5. He called me right away to ask WHY we had changed our mind. As I was trying to explain that we were not comfortable with the tent fumigation due to the chemicals that were to be used as well as the fact that we would have to move out for 3 days and that we still had other companies that would be coming out, he became like a used car salesman trying to make the sale. When he realized I would not budge he abruptly cut me off and said, "You know what? I don't think I can work with someone like you". My response, "No problem, bye". Shortly thereafter he called and texted me. I did not answer. I will not do business with someone so unprofessional, rude & aggressive!!! I went online to read the Yelp reviews for Orkin and guess what I found? Several reviews complaining specifically about Derrik. So happy we decided to go with another company!!!!!!!! read more

Treatment did not work. They did not schedule and return for follow ups when expected. And when I asked to come back to do it again, they wanted to charge me an additional $100. 12 months of their service and the problem still isn't taken care of. And they charge me an extra payment, I called many times asking why they charge me an extra payment and one of the customer services told that it's for the month of July 2024 and the other one told me that it's from December 2023. The conclusion is I will not recommend this company because they didn't do. I am planning to take them to the court to see if they can charge for the job that they didn't do right. read more

Marcus is bomb! I love my tech, Marcus. He explains every detail so you know what to expect. Ants are trying to overthrow the government in my home. every time we treat they move to a new location. This is on me because I didn't want to treat my entire house. If they recommend it...do it. What I also like is that you can call for a tech to come out anytime if you have a problem, even between scheduled appointments. I also like that Marcus recommended bait to help attack the source. I see other reviewers complain about no shows. They have shown up every time for me; in my scheduled time window. One thing to be sure of when you schedule is to specify indoor or outdoor. They use different solutions. I would recommend you give this Orkin a try and just get to know your tech. The first guy I had was also really informative. read more

I have an account in Hayward that uses Orkin. They've dropped the ball twice now on an estimate for termite treatment. They do monthly service at this house. They're the ones who said there was termite stuff and offered to have it estimated for tenting or treatment while on their normal monthly visit. Honestly, avoid at all costs for termite services. They are expensive and not afraid to lie to you. Finally having time to sit down and write a review but our experience was terrible here with the inspector/sales guy. We were in contact with Derrick Nesbitt (who has other negative reviews here) who was supposed to come and inspect the property, but all he did was sell. I get it, BUT he only wants to talk to the "decision maker", so even though my mom and I were present and she is part owner of the home, my dad had to be there as well. He was very condescending about it too. We had specific termite issues in one room of our house which was newly painted, so my dad wanted to ensure that they would NOT be drilling any holes. He asked Derrick twice to clarify that no holes would be drilled in order to complete the operations. Derrick repeatedly said no and would make a motion that the tech would be drilling into the ground and pumping the product into the wall to kill out the termites. This option was more expensive than other companies, but it was VERY important to us that we do not drill holes in the newly painted wall. Come service day and the technician starts drilling holes directly into the wall. He has to drill about 4 of them on each corner of the window so it's a substantial amount. We stopped the technician since we specified that we did not want ANY holes to be drilled straight into the newly painted wall and wanted the under the floor solution Derrick played out for us. Turns out they had no such technology at the time. We called Derrick and he said we never asked about how they would get rid of the termites and he never specified how it would be done - he just kept lying. The tech left shortly after because we did not want anymore holes so that was that. We got a partial refund but honestly even though our service was a year ago it's left such a bad taste in my mouth. Maybe things have changed, but highly recommend you avoid the sales person we had to deal with. We had to reach out the branch office and force our way through a partial refund since we did get some service, but not the service we were sold. Giving 2 stars for the tech and office branch who did nothing wrong and technically helped us get rid of termites, but so not worth the experience. read more

We got serviced for the first time by Orkin on Thursday 6/20/24 to spray the entire perimeter of my house for spiders. When I woke up Friday morning to leave for work I see my car was STOLEN from my driveway behind my house. Upon reviewing my surveillance cameras, I noticed the technician that was at my house the day prior was walking out of my back driveway at 3:39 AM. There's no reason he should have been anywhere near my house after that service let alone in the middle of the night before my car was stolen. I called Orkin multiple times and spoke to the branch manager, who seemed as if he has no interest in my situation, sent him the footage and still have yet to hear back days later. Not sure if they ever will. Absolutely ridiculous and handled a very serious situation poorly. read more

They started service at my home two months ago and I've still not seen a single intrude since. My place was covered in spider webs, this is no longer an issue. A guy comes and performs the service and has my sister sign a document saying "this is just for confirmation that I came". Unknown to her, in the fine print there was a term stating that this was a contract for bimonthly services. Now I cant even get in contact with the branch manager to dispute this. Don't sign up for their service! Once you're locked in to their contract, you cannot get out until you call them right before the renewal. They don't let you cancel you membership when you want even if you're willing to pay the remaining months just to be out of contract. They are banking on you having the subscription and forgetting it. In addition to that, I saw no difference in spiders and ants at my home even after getting treatment 2 times. I added notification in my calendar to call and cancel the service cause i want it to be out. There are better services out there that I will try. read more

I've been using Orkin for over a year but it was getting too expensive for me. I called to change to a less expensive program. Instead of getting cheaper, it almost doubled. So instead of paying $62.50/mo they charged me $104.50/mo! I tried calling several times and no call back. I finally talked to them and they said, who was the person who helped you? How would I know.
