The area of this restaurant is so quaint and charming, right on the center strip of Collingswood. My boyfriend and I walked in, and were seated quite quickly at the hibachi table in the back. As we browsed the menu, we saw the hibachi for two, and decided to go with that option (chicken, shrimp, scallops). To start of the experience, we ordered the rock shrimp. The rock shrimp has such a tasteful orange sauce to die for, as well as the temperature is perfect. With our hibachi meals, we got a soup and salad. The dressing on the salad is great, with huge tomatoes. It was my boyfriends first time eating at a hibachi table, and he loved it. The experience was great as well as the food. Amazing and attentive service from multiple staff members. We didn't have an empty glass of water or tea. Yay! The food was superb- standard edamame, and avocado salad with delicious ginger dressing, the presentation and quality of the sushi rolls was beautiful. This place is aMazing. Hibachi and sushi do not disappoint. It's Byo, and prices are reasonable. Be sure Call for reservations for hibachi on weekends. They have awesome hibachi specials like, pick 3, dinner for two or four and also land and sea for two! However I don't recommend hibachi lobster anywhere, just gets too tough on the grill in my opinion. Osaka is a must try! I am new to the neighborhood and already been here 3 times! read more

By far my boyfriend and my favorite place to get Japanese. He only eats hibachi and I love sushi so this place is an awesome agreement. The staff there is always very friendly. I even had my birthday dinner there with my family and the cook on the hibachi grill was so fun and made sure I got a birthday surprise at the end. We don't go often because our bill tends to get a little high but it being BYOB is a great plus. *My favorite roll I haven't found anywhere else is the Jalapeno Yellowtail roll! it is so good so I suggest everyone try it! read more

Went on a Tuesday night, it was kind of quiet. Hibachi is usually better with a group of people, even if you don't know them! The spicy tuna roll wasn't that good to be honest, it was kind of mushy. The meat with the hibachi was pretty good- moist, unlike the other places we have been. We didn't like the dipping sauces, but the salad and soup were good. The hibachi chef was nice and did some tricks, but we weren't into it so he backed off a bit but still put on a small show. Would maybe go back again with a group and with a living social or groupon voucher! (Which is what we did this time!) Place looked pretty clean with fairly new furnishing! read more

I wasn't really blown away by anything in particular at Osaka. Regardless, it's always nice to walk around downtown Collingswood on a weekend night. Since I'm not a huge Japanese food fan, I'm trying not to judge it based on the food. We started with some shrimp tempura which was decent. Then we got a Hibachi combo that included steak, chicken, shrimp, and scallops. Chicken was the best, then shrimp, but I found the steak to be really bland and the scallops were way too rubbery. They did have a really good "yum yum" (?) sauce that went well with everything. The cost was $55 total. I think we ended up paying about $40 plus tip. (We had some type of $30 of food for $15 deal). On the positive side of things, service was fast and everyone was very nice. Make sure to bring your own alcohol and be aware that you have to pay for parking. read more

This was our first time dining in this restaurant. We ordered from the lunch menue. I had the chicken hibachi and my husband ordered the steak hibachi. Both were served with clear soup (we had a choice of soup or salad) and fried rice. I liked his meal (steak) better than mine. I thought that the chicken was a little too sweet. Been here a few times and will never return. Went with a group of 8 people for a friends birthday, second year in a row actually. We had Hibachi and food was good. Had a confirmed reservation thru Opentable.com, they called to confirm the day before - we were all set for a nice evening out to celebrate our friends birthday. They rushed us thru dinner and dessert only to sense staff coming back n forth to our table while we enjoyed our drinks, seemingly hurrying us along. The one server and hostess came over & asked us to leave because they had a party of 10 arrive that wound up being a party of 15 now. Excuse me?!? Couldn't believe what they were asking us let alone trying to rationalize it to us. We aren't finished yet and we had a reservation. After paying over $400 for dinner between our group to be treated this way, completely rushed out the door - we'll never be back. I work in the hospitality industry, for over 20 years, never in my dreams would I do that to paying customers. Probably one of the worse dining experiences I've ever encountered! I bought a groupon deal for this restaurant so we went to give it a try. The restaurant is very clean, the decor is very modern and quite nice compared to other Japanese restaurants in the area. And it's in Main Street so it's quite nice to walk around after dinner. The food is good, not amazingly good, but good. The price is quite expensive. With the groupon deal, we still ended paying $60 for two people. So I don't think we will come back without a groupon deal would have been $90 for two people. read more

I have come here previously when it was under a different name/ownership, and it is still great! My two friends got the hibachi (from the regular table/menu) and I got a few rolls. The food came out quick, but sequentially, and the service was awesome! They were very attentive, but did not come over too much as they saw we were catching up and having a great time. Literally no complaints. Very cool ambiance, and they were super friendly. This is a great place to come for a birthday as they go all out... BYOB is a huge plus as it saves you a ton of money. Osaka is one of our favorite places to eat sushi from. We always have a great time and the food is always good. Yesterday, Thursday December 7th around 2 pm we went for lunch because we haven't been there for a while. When we arrived we were greeted by the person at the front desk she walked us to our table and placed the menus on the table. We quickly picked up the menus because we were hungry. A waiter came over took our drink order quickly got our drinks but she just walked away after dropping off our drink even tho we were ready to order. She walked back to a group of other employees from the restaurant and they were all having a conversation while we sat there looking back waiting for one of them to notice we were ready to order. It took longer than 10 minutes for one of them to come over and take our order. My girlfriend order a roll and so did I. I got the teriyaki steak bento box with fried rice and my girlfriend order a side of fried rice. Our sushi came out and it was perfect as always. When my bento box came out she forgot my fried rice. And when I looked over for a waiter she was again having social conversations with the other employees. It took another five minutes for one of them to come over and get me another order of fried rice. I love this place but we were really disappointed with the service. read more

okay so i have been here multiple times. maybe like 3. the first two times have been wonderful. i've been there for my birthday and my friends birthday. i got the steak hibachi both the times. i strongly recommend. the third time though was HORRIBLE. i got the hibachi shrimp. out of my whole group i was the only individual to order it. ofcourse the cook and service was great. the rice was also delicious (like always). the one thing that ruined my experience is the FREAKING shrimp! i ate it and thought it was delicious. but later that night was when it struck- my stomach ache. i tried to ignore it but eventually had to throw up. the first time i threw up was all the rice. obviously that ruined the rice for me. after that i still had pains. i tried to go back to bed but my stomach would not stop. i threw up the shrimp. i'm conclusion, i think that there was something wrong with the shrimp. i think this because everyone in my group had rice and i was the only one with shrimp. this led me to believe i had food poisoning because of it. i finally went to bed even though it was hell. in the morning my mother went out to buy pepto bismol hence my stomach hasn't rested since the night before. while she was gone i threw up bile. if you have ever done that, you know it sucks. later on in the morning i felt a little better but as soon as the pepto bismol disappeared, the stomach pains were back. i took more pepto bismol but then i had a fever. fever is a side effect of food poisoning and the whole thing is all because of that damn shrimp. as you can tell i'm pretty mad since i just wasted my last few days of spring break. i should not be laying down in pain because of some shrimp that a cook messed up on. i will truly never come back to this place because they hurt me. thank you for reading this, hopefully i have helped you. read more
