If you want to stop sitting customers at 9:00 then close at 9:00. If you don't close until 9:30 then shouldn't you be sitting customers until 9:30? Way not impressed. It was me and my husbands 11th wedding anniversary and we would have loved to give our business to Osaka but instead we gave it to Zaxbys. It took almost 1.5 hours for our 5 sushi rolls to come after we ordered them! The chief was more interested in the television than the customers and the waitress had no clue what she was doing. We ended up telling out waitress we couldn't wait any longer so she boxed up the 4 rolls that were done and we took them to go. This place has really gone downhill. Horrible treatment of the servers, which means an unhappy server and a bad experience for diners. The servers here really seem to try but they don't have much to work with. Always missing items on the menu and blaming it on Macey's next door. Management here no longer seems to care. The food was disgusting. I've eaten a lot of sushi and I'm not even sure this should be called sushi. The sushi was flavorless, the tempura runny and tasteless, my chicken breast obviously came off a chicken that was horribly tortured in life, and the teriyaki sauce over it was of the constancy and flavor of wet dog food. Decent sushi in Utah is really hard to find. I can't imagine how hard it would be to run a sushi place in Utah let alone Tooele however this place is surprisingly good. Overpriced for the amount of food we received. We ordered 3 teriyaki bowls...one with beef, the other two with chicken. The meal came and the bowls were mostly filled with rice. The teriyaki sauce in the beef bowl overpowered the taste of the meat, and that meat was very tough. The chicken bowls only had about 5 strips of meat. Salads that came with the meals were bland tasting even tho there was a sauce on them. Total price for a very unsatisfactory meal was $53.00. In addition, it was very cold in there. This is one of my favorite sushi restaurants around, the food is always amazing. so I'm always bringing in my friends in to try it and prove that we have great sushi in our small town. Well I came in a few days ago and they did seem a little busybut it was during lunch so I figured it was their lunch rush. The one girl that was working was great super nice answered all our questions then there was this other girl, with the purple in her hair,and glasses. She was so disrespectful and rude. We had a question and the other waitress was helping another table so we thought we could ask her and she put her hand up and said hold on.. no that is not okay. Really pleasantly surprised! Super nice staff, and delicious food. We got the shrimp tempura roll, catapillar roll, Philly roll, and Miso soup. We did get it all to go, but it was fast and friendly. 11/07/2012 Took my family, from out of town, for a good night out of Sushi. Well I never did find out how bad the food was because we never were served. Sat down at the table, was given water and then after 30 to 40 minutes of waiting to place an order, we left. Went to the Thai House for an outstanding dinner andstellar service, that is to say 20 minutes from entry to fresh food on the table. Osaka is the worst place I have ever been to and I have literally eaten at restaurants around the world. Even tback water dives had better service. There was no organization to the servers tables and little, if any, attention to detail. Probably would be a great place if there were professional servers or a front person to make sure the servers were performing their jobs. I will never know. read more

I have been twice and from my experience both times I believe most of these good reviews are from current employees. The first time I went the waitress was fun but the building smelled like nail polish remover because it's right next to a nail salon and the sushi is nothing special...Over priced for the most part however I did actually like the tempura, but still not as good as most anywhere else i have been in SLC. The second time i went our table was there for 45 minutes before the waitress took our order and she took other peoples orders who came in after we did. The chef, seemed like he might be the owner but i don't know, was standing and watching TV for most of the time we were there even after she took our order it was another 30 minutes before we got any food...finally we just left still not having received all of our order. The waitress the 2nd time was obviously new and had no idea what she was doing and they had her working alone! There were even two other girls that worked there( not working just eating) that asked if they could help her and the chef told them both no...he was very rude and it was very frustrating I honestly cant believe this place is even still in business I think it is worth the 30 minute drive to go to Simply Sushi or somewhere else right in SLC. Walked in the door to have a giant sign that says "Please Wait to be Seated." We stood for 5 minutes waiting while staring at a nearly empty dining room. When one of the many employees finally came up to us we were not greeted with a hello, but you have 15 minutes before our kitchen closes and you won't be able to do more than one order. Oddly enough they were still open for 45 min. We then were seated at literally the smallest possible table in the corner and immediately asked if we knew what we want and if we wanted anything to drink. My wife quickly chose something at random and then my menu was taken before I had literally read anything. My wife ended up with decent food. After she was done I had to stare across the room at someone to get a check. For being in such a hurry they kind of sucked at getting us out as fast as they sat us down. In the end we spend too much money on just okay food of which only one of us ate. If you are looking for actual service and an experience that reflects the high cost then this is NOT the place to go. Sampled 3 of their rolls, if you're in the area it's a solid choice, but overall it's average compared to some other spots in Salt Lake. For this town, four stars. It was fairly expensive and the fish was not so fresh, but I'm probably spoiled living in the Bay Area. The service was great and the hand roll was solid and did not fall apart. The only off putting thing was the spicy tuna, which kind of looked like canned tuna, dyed pink. The horrid service is not worth it!! Never never never go to this place during lunch or dinner, you will never get your food. The sushi is decent, especially considering that it is in Tooele. But I have frequented this establishment too many times and I have gotten burned on the service EVERY SINGLE TIME. The waitresses are rude and dismissing, all of them. They have no idea how to offer even the bare minimum of customer service. We've waited upwards of an hour to get food before, and the waitress didn't even check on us the entire time; and when I mentioned how long we had been waiting she just told me that they were busy. When I expressed to her that tables twice our size that were seated after us had already finished their meals she just shrugged. Even when they are not busy they could care less. They stopped offering deals for carry out orders, so you have to suffer through their service to get a decent price. I am done with this place. I will drive 20 minutes to SLC every time rather than suffer through this place. Do not waste your time!! read more
