Custard mixer with brownies, Oreos, and hot fudge
    Greg B.

Leaving Strawberry Fest today I promised ice cream to my son that came with me because it was hot out and he was a trooper with all the walking around we did. We started driving towards the McDonald's in Cedarburg, but along the way I remembered previously seeing a different restaurant nearby that serves ice cream or custard. We pulled into Out & Out and hit the jackpot compared to going to McDonald's. It was so good, in fact, that we came back later in the day so my wife and other son could try it too. On our first visit my older son got a custard mixer with brownies, Oreos, and hot fudge and I got a half original mac and cheese and a strawberry lemonade float, which was their special flavor for this week. When we came back, my younger son got a chocolate custard mixer with cookie dough and brownies while my wife got the Spicy Chicken Kick mac and cheese without the red peppers. Both kids loved their custard, which was to be expected. It looks like they're pretty generous with the toppings and have a good variety to choose from on the menu. Way better than the soft serve ice cream from McDonald's. The mac and cheese was great. We both thought the cheese sauce reminded us a little of Kraft mac and cheese, but slightly more elevated in both the flavor of the sauce and the quality of the noodles. There was plenty of chicken in her mac, but it was little light on the andouille sausage. The strawberry lemonade float was otherworldly good. I've had other floats before like root beer and dreamcicle, but strawberry lemonade was a new one for me and frankly has set a new bar in my mind for ice cream/custard based drinks. I can't rave about it enough and I'm sad that it's only a one week special, but considering how good it was, I'm very much looking forward to trying other special flavors they have and having the strawberry lemonade again, assuming it's back during next year's Strawberry Fest.

On my list to try for quite awhile and wish it hadn't taken so long to get here! Came with my 7yr old for lunch on a Wednesday and it was busy, and now I know why. She had the original mac and cheese and loved it, and she's a picky Mac n cheese eater. I tried a few bites as well and it was great, way better than Noodles and Co. and cheaper than Noodles as well. I had the Chipotle Chicken sandwich and it was excellent. We had some custard for dessert and it was also terrific, only $3.75 for a scoop and you get 3 toppings! Service was extra friendly, seems like a family and treat you like family, the kind of place I like to spend my money at, but don't need to spend a lot because for the quality and quantity of food, it was very reasonable. I look forward to coming back soon with the entire family to try more, great spot!

The original - so good just as it is! I'm drooling remembering it!

I love Mac n cheese! To be completely transparent, I'm a Kraft kind of gal, and don't always like when the dish is jazzed up too much. So I went in not sure what to expect. Well, I thought this was amazing! I loved every bite of the original, just as it was. My husband had the spicy chicken (minus the bell peppers) and he was raving about his too. The staff was helpful explaining the options and it was a nice casual dining experience. I highly recommend this spot!

This place is a great choice when you don't have time to sit down but want something delicious and fast. The food is excellent, the service was fabulous, and I love that they have seating inside and out - but also super easy to take and go if you need to. My go-to is the thai peanut quinoa salad - yummy!! I would definitely recommend choosing Out & Out!

Google Maps brought us to what looked like a farm driveway with corn growing on both sides. There aren't many signs, just an old wagon decorated with Christmas lights. It's almost as if they want to keep the place hidden from the traffic on Pleasant View Drive. Food: The menu focuses primarily on wood-fired pizza, with additional offerings including appetizers, sandwiches, and sausages. They also have a large selection of beers, including several brewed on-site. We ordered the Milwaukee Pizza (cheese, sausage, mushrooms, and onions), and I also got the Washington County Smashburger. To drink, I had a margarita, and she ordered the Big Buck Bock. Our food arrived quickly, and everything was amazingly good. The pizza was hot, well seasoned, and generously topped. There was so much mozzarella that the other toppings were practically swimming in it. The smashburger was also excellent. The patty was cooked through with beautifully crispy edges. The pickles were crisp with just the right amount of kick. The crinkle fries were plentiful and well cooked, although they were just a touch too salty for my taste. Service: We received great service from the moment we walked in. You can either order from your table or at the counter. Since it was our first visit, we chose the counter. A staff member greeted us right away and explained how everything worked. Even though it was near closing time, they encouraged us to place our order and then relax, letting us know they would still be around for another hour after closing. Our food was brought out promptly, several people checked on us throughout the meal, and they even proactively brought us takeout containers. Everyone we encountered was genuinely friendly and helpful, making for a very relaxing dining experience. Atmosphere: The restaurant is set on an old farmstead. They've done a wonderful job converting several of the buildings and outdoor spaces into a welcoming destination. There are multiple outdoor seating areas, along with a newer food hall that feels open, bright, and thoughtfully designed. It's also a very family-friendly place, with outdoor areas where kids can play while everyone else relaxes. Even the restrooms were modern, spacious, and exceptionally clean. We'll definitely be back, and next time we'll be bringing more of the family with us.

The restaurant is very small, with limited bar seating and booths, and there's no real place to wait inside. Everyone waiting for a table ends up awkwardly standing close together near the entrance, which wasn't very comfortable. You have to check in at the bar, and unfortunately the bartender seemed visibly annoyed whenever groups tried to add their name to the waitlist. He rolled his eyes and came across as pretty grumpy, which was a rough first impression. I honestly considered leaving, but I was really craving pizza, so we stayed. Once we got a table, we had to go back up to the bar to place our order. We got cheesy garlic bread, a deep dish pizza with three toppings, and three sodas. The sodas were poured right away, and I carried them back to the table myself. About five minutes later, the garlic bread was ready, and I went back up to grab that too. When food is ready, they yell out your order and vaguely point in your direction while saying "front" or "back," which works but isn't exactly organized. One positive surprise was the deep dish pizza. It came out much faster than expected. Most deep dish places take 45-60 minutes, but this one was ready pretty quickly. The food itself was very good and definitely the highlight of the experience. When we finished eating, I went up to get a to-go box and pay. That's when I noticed sodas are not free refills, though they're priced at $1.25 each. We ended up paying for six sodas total (three originals plus refills), which honestly wasn't bad and came out to about the same (or even less) than unlimited soda elsewhere. Still, it would've been nice to know ahead of time. I was also unsure about the tipping situation since we did all the running around ourselves: ordering, picking up food, carrying drinks, and paying. I left a 10% tip, but it felt a bit unclear what's expected in this setup. Overall, I really enjoyed the food, especially the pizza. The experience was just dampened by the lack of a waiting area and the initially grumpy bartender (though he did seem to lighten up as the night went on). I'd come back for the food, but I hope the service and organization improve.

One I have a tax exempt number because of this is a religious function and second was that I had a 20% off coupon. I was told I could use both. Using that 20%off made is reasonable to be able to order the subs. Upon looking at the receipt, I thought that the amount was more than I had calculated. The receipt only showed $10.00 for the 20% off. (My entire bill was $385.00) Which made the amount well above what I was expecting. Also noted that we could not obtain points because it was past the 4 days to enter. EVEN though we didn't pick up and pay for the order until the 19th. Upon asking the store manager about these questions he was polite and just stated that it was the corporate policy about the limit of $10 off. I did not note that on our phone conversation. And that yes, the 4 days had past. The manager gave us the corporate number to call. We did contact them and they just told us that it is the policy that the limit was $10.00. Even though we were not informed or that was noted on the coupon. All corporate would do is give an additional points. How would that help our past religious even or even a few subs credit. I have ordered from them before for this same event and had no issues. But the cost was also less which made it reasonable to use them. The subs were great and ready on time. My complaint is that the corporate offices are not in tune to keeping recurring customers. I will not be using Cousins again for any further functions. Will also try different Sub shops chains in the future.
