Went here recently for a late lunch/early dinner and it was great. I hadn't been to an Outback in a while, so I wasn't sure what to expect. We started with the Blooming Petals. Crispy and tasty. I really liked the sauce that came with it. For the main course, I ordered the 6 oz Sirloin and it was cooked perfectly and seasoned to perfection. I'm always hesitant to order steaks at chain restaurants, but I was pleasantly surprised with how good it was. Very juicy and tender as well. For sides I had fries and seasonal veggies. The veggies were meh. That's the only thing I wasn't happy with. No flavor at all. Can't forget the complimentary bread which was delicious. Nice and warm upon getting it. Those that were accompanying me were also very satisfied with their meals. Prices aren't too bad. Our waitress was attentive and nice. We got seated right away and our food was out quickly. Of course that's a perk of going there earlier in the day. I'm sure it's much busier in the evenings, especially weekends. Will most likely venture back sometime soon! read more

We were Outback supporters for years. We found an Outback wherever we moved and always moved it to the top of our restaurant rotation. Great food and friendly service. I miss those days. Then we visited the location in Coon Rapids and we've never been back. My wife found a LARGE CLUMP OF HAIR under her baked potato. Not one hair... a CLUMP OF HAIR. The food was good but the service was as SLOW as a snail. My daughter and I went there for lunch. The staff far outnumbered the patrons since it was early into lunch. I counted 4 manager/host/hostess types up front and a whole army of servers running around. I figured we'd get superstar service given the ratio of staff to customers. Wrong! Our burgers took so long to come out, they were practically dead. The lettuce was wilted, the burger juices were all congealed, and the American Cheese looked like it was shrink wrapped to the meat. Obviously, too long in the window under the heat lamps. But they tasted good. Too bad they weren't out faster. We asked for extra ketchup and proceeded to watch our server get a soda for herself, take an order from another table....and finally...brought us our stupid ketchup. So my food was wonderful I had a simple 9oz sirloin and my spouse had 6 oz sirloin. Hers was overdone (she ordered medium rare and got med well) but mine was good a nice medium. The mushrooms were lacking though, very little flavor. Service was good. We split one drink which tasted good, nice balance of alcohol to mix. Their sides were okay. Poor service, hit or miss food, and mostly miss! I try to avoid chains, but we got a gift card, so we gave it a try. First, the craft beer selection was pathetic. Two choices, and both were Belgian Whites - I mean please, why carry two of the same if you only carry two! Wife ordered one, and was told (later) they stopped carrying it. She also ordered it with a slice of orange, but it came with no glass, and no orange. I opted for water, which I ordered with no ice, so it of course came with ice. Tried the Ahi Tuna appetizer. Good sauce and slaw, but the tuna was pathetic. It was cold, having clearly been seared ahead of time then refrigerated. My Caesar salad was also pretty weak. Steaks were better, with my Ribeye (Med Rare, Wood Fired) being much better than my wife's Sirloin. However, my mixed veggie side was forgotten, and then when it came the carrots were basically raw. So disappointed with this location last night. The service was absolutely terrible. I have been working in the restaurant industry my entire life (mostly in management), so it pains me deeply that I feel compelled to write this negative review... Strike 1: We waited at the host stand for more than a few minutes (probably four or five total) before even being acknowledged. Two female servers walked by and looked at us several times without saying a word to us or going to fetch the host. A couple walked in behind us and could be overheard making negative remarks about this perceived lack of curtesy. Strike 2: We were seated in the abovementioned server's section. It turns out the other "server" walking by us (in the bar area) was her trainee! The trainee was very pleasant and ever-present, but seldom accompanied by her trainer. Accordingly, it was difficult to accomplish anything as she was not permitted to do tasks such as take an order. The trainer herself was cold and annoyed; I think we ended up being her last table of the night and you could visibly tell she didn't want to be there and was somewhere else most of the meal. Strike 3: My sister explained she was moving away for college the next morning and was still packing, she asked for coffee. Nope, no coffee left. The trainer came out and refused to brew more so my sister settled on a lemonade. How difficult is it to brew coffee??? Strike 4: 30 seconds after putting in our order (still 10 minutes prior to "closing time", I grab the trainee and explain that I forgot to put in a to-go order for my husband. "No problem" she says. Ten full minutes go by before the trainer reappears to tell me curtly, "the kitchen is closed." I decided NOT to eat my meal, as I had to bring something home for my husband. Nobody inquired why there was not a single bite out of my food or asked us if we wanted dessert. Instead, we were asked if we wanted boxes as two boxes and the check were practically thrown at us. It could not be more clear that she (the trainer) wanted us out of there. At this point, it was only 15 minutes after closing time... Needless to say, we HAPPILY left at that point. Miserable servers make poor trainers, Outback. If you are going to stay open until 9:30, you should have a manager on the floor until 9:30 (there was never one in sight). We all have bad days and I could have easily overlooked one or two of these incidents. This is was possibly the worst dining experience I have ever had. Just had dinner.at this restaurant 14 family members and six children under the age of three.we had tow servers one male and one female this was a birthday party.all of the appetizers were obviously way over cooked extremely dark brown.we did not complain.then the salads came out they were limp soggy and had turned brown as if they were made the night before.we still had not complained.then the main course came out the servers had no idea who had what food.still had not complained.then we started to eat our mashed potatoes were cold I mean like fresh out of the refrigerator cold.some of the steaks weren't even cooked.rare doesn't mean cold and raw in the middle.that was enough I complained asked one of the servers to take my plate back to the kitchen and re make my plate he did but he never came back.so as we pay and leave the other server said sorry he had an attitude and he was removed.and wasn't getting any of the tips.it's not right he was very nice he isn't coo or plating it was all on the kitchen.the manager did help make it right but the server had done nothing wrong at the table.all in all it was the worst dinner at an outback we have ever experienced. read more

I can't even cite the reasons I was craving Outback Steakhouse last week, but l convinced my boyfriend to go with me for dinner. Being new to the area, we looked up Outback on the GPS and found this location. We arrived for dinner at about 6:45. It was essentially an average trip to Outback; being in a restaurant management program, I just enjoy visiting restaurants to observe their different concepts, themes, and atmospheres. A few things happened to Make this trip incredibly memorable, some good, some not so good. Firstly, our appetizer was only sent out as a half order initially, and it still took a while after we were assured it was on the way. We also got our complimentary bread (typically served before the meal) with our entree. HOWEVER, I paid 8.99 for unlimited shrimp and every single shrimp was delicious a perfectly cooked. Once we received our entire appetizer, it was also deliscious. Basically, customer service and accuracy need work, but the food and food quality were spot on. We visited the Coon Rapid location to celebrate my husband's birthday yesterday. I don't know when we have had such a absolutely delicious meal! I highly recommend the filet mignon, it was cooked as requested and our server Jeffrey R even had us cut them as he looked on to be sure they were to our satisfaction. The asparagus was cooked to perfection and the salad was so deliciously fresh! I can't say enough good things about our experience with not only our food but our serve! We will be back! read more

Call ahead seating is the way to go! Outback generally has great food, prices are a bit high but it is a "steakhouse." During my last visit i ordered a sirloin medium well what i got was medium rare. The waitress was so apologetic and sent the manager over. The manager also apologized sincerely and corrected the issue. The whole situation was handled with class was really appreciated. read more

Went on a Sat night little after 6, was seated within a few min with a full lobby. We were checked to waiting list online so had no problems getting seated quickly. Service was quick, efficient and overall very good. My Filet mignon was cooked well how I wanted it, the mashed potatoes were hot and fresh. The house salad arrived very quick which was also very good. Overall I was impressed as it's been quite a while since I have been to an Outback, they seemed to have upped their game. My only knock steak could have been hotter, it wasn't cold by any means and also the wallaby darned which is by far my favorite drink here only comes in one size. Like I said it's been a while so apparently it's been this way for while. I know they were expensive to begin with but why not offer them at a higher price then and at least give people the option? I always liked having one big one, the tiny glasses are pretty weak from how I remember them. Hopefully they reconsider. So overall the food and service better from how I remembered it last time. So nice to see places get on the call ahead seating bandwagon vs sitting in the lobby like a zombie. Props to Outback for the quality of food & service provided. I am not sure why this place has an online check in or reservation system when using it doesn't help. I checked in for 4:30, and the website told me to come in at 4:30, but when I got to the restaurant at that time, I was told there would be a 30 to 45 minute wait. What was the point of checking in, when we still would have needed to wait a long time. Anyone who has ever been to this location knows that when they say 45 minutes, they mean an hour. All in all, a very frustrating experience. It would be nice if this location valued people's time, but they clearly don't. If you go there, expect to wait a long time. read more

The service was very phenomenal. I mean the server was very friendly and fun to talk to. The steak was one of the best I ever had. It was well done, but yet very tender. I could still picture my meal, and can't wait to go back there. While we were waiting for my food I was able to enjoy the pumpernickel bread with the whipped butter. I would not recommend eating at this location. Paying $70 for 2, our steaks were not cooked correctly, $26 filet was not a "Melt in your mouth" experience whatsoever, they forgot our sides, and the service was not that great either. The bartender shared that with the manager. We were then approached by the manager asking if there was a problem as his server was distraught over or interaction. Always a love/hate relationship when I venture here. Biweekly lunch with my big brother. Always get the wedge salad, if I could base my review on that alone it would be five stars...but for the lunch special I had the beef quesadilla. First of all, it was soggy, not crispy. Makes you wonder what sort of cheese is in there. Then there was the beef, I honestly don't know how they can charge you more for beef. I have had church wafers that were thicker and more filling. My first time here the other day, and there was very few cars in the parking lot, and I think I know why. My chicken tasted good only because of the sauce on it, my mashed potatoes were tasty with the spices in it, however it does not come with gravy or butter for you to use. Broccoli was plain and was not very tasty, or at least was not tasty like my wife makes it for me. The waitress told me they were out of root beer and that if I order a soda no refills, OK fine. I asked for water, but apparently no water refills either as the waitress never offered more water. My companion ordered the sirloin steak and gave me a small portion of it, it was dry and tasteless as it was just a hunk of meat cooked which anyone can easily do at home, and there was no sauce on it nor did the waitress offer any sauce to be drought to the table. Not worth the price for it ! We were very disappointed eating here not just because of the food, but also for the atmosphere of being very gloomy inside. read more

I read all the reviews on Outback and almost didn't go but in Buffalo NY it was always my favorite steak house.
