The second batch had bacon on it which we took off the order so unfortunately they had to make another batch without onion that came out a little over cooked and took longer than I'd expected BUT there was nothing I could do about that. The mushrooms were 5 star but the bloomin onion wasn't cooked long enough because at the bottom the batter was still slightly uncooked. Next time I get some I know what to check for. We ducked into this restaurant around 11:30am. We were seated immediately. Drinks were on the table in a flash. One of our party ordered the coconut shrimp while I decided to give the Sriracha Chicken a try. The food was fantastic. The service excellent. This was my first time here and will i come again heck no. 1 the waiter never clean the table for plates after we told her numerous time to pick up the bread board, she kept pushing them to the side and walking past . The food was just ok and the service too. Fast service isn't always service. She asked out drink orders as we were trying to sit down. When we shuffled into the booth she was standing there waiting on us like we were holding her up. I feel like they were short staffed and my waitress was overcompensating . I really wanted to enjoy the meal, but I will be honest and say the best part of the meal was my waitress Brianna. She was super attentive and helpful, I ordered the salmon meal it was a pretty small piece of salmon that was cooked well, my husband ordered the steak and all you can eat shrimp. His fried shrimp were good but the garlic shrimp lacked flavor and taste.. My Aussie Rum Punch was made well the other good part of this place... I really like this Outback location, I always receive great service. My fave is the Kookaburra Wings! I'm addicted to them! And the baked potato I had was heavenly, it was hot & soft on the inside. My ONLY complaint is about the silverware, it was very very dirty (see picture). As a food service professional, I'd assume It may be time for them to clean their dishwasher. Dirty silverware also means dirty plates & cups. The manager walked around and asked how our meal was, I advised him that everything was great minus the silverware & he politely brought us clean pairs. While always a good choice this location has progressed downhill lately. Few weeks ago went for lunch but they were "low on servers" so the wait was 45 min with only a few customers seated. Went to Carrara's for a great lunch. Today after waiting 20 min for our favorite ahi appetizer the manager MATT came over and apologized that the ahi was not" prepared" and asked if he could get us something else. Drove all the way to Douglasville to have my favorite Sydney Shrooms. When they were served they were hot but they were all shriveled up. They looked as if they were microwaved. I have never had the Sydney Shrooms without them being fresh and deep fried. Really disgusting today, they were spongy and not crunchy on the outside. Afraid to go back to that particular Outback and it is the closest one to us. Things with restaurants sure are taking a turn for the worst. Dined here with my family for the first family meal in over a year. We ordered the Blooming Onion appetizer and various steak dinners which were all delicious. We were lucky enough to be served by Emma. She was kind and professional and knew the menu well. I've been to this Outback twice now and the service is consistent, it's fantastic. The first visit, we had Jim as our server and he was on top of things. For him to remember that my dinner companion liked his sweet tea WITH a side of extra lemons was a plus in our book. To remember little things like this shows he's on top of detail and customer service is a priority and we appreciate it greatly. Last night we had Brandon serve us and the service was just as great, prompt and friendly. Matt was the manager on duty and I wanted to give kudos to him and his staff but couldn't find him when we were leaving. This was our worst experience. We ordered 2 appetizers to share as our meal and two side salads. They did not bring our salads until after the appetizers which would be normal but they knew we were ordering the appetizers as our meal and we had to ask for them. Strawberry salad had 4 tiny slices of spoiled strawberries and they gave us old ranch side that had been sitting out long enough to have a yellow film on it. Outback has become my wife and I's favorite local place to eat and have a drink (or 2!). We always sit at the bar and the bartender (Lisa) that usually serves us is amazing. Regardless of how busy things sometimes are, she always looks after us and makes sure we have everything we need. She's usually fixing our drink before we get to the bar!! No kidding!! I arrived on a Saturday evening around 9:00 pm and they were moderately busy. However, I asked for an available booth (because I prefer having lots of space) and they accommodated me immediately. My waitress (Viajeria M) was very kind and attentive and greeted me with a beautiful smile. I knew exactly what I wanted so she took my order promptly and returned with hot whole wheat bread with butter. I ordered the 22 ounce Bone-In Ribeye Steak ($27.99). It comes with two sides and since I like to stick with primarily protein and vegetables, I chose a side salad with ranch dressing and the grilled asparagus. However, just keep in mind that you will be charged an extra $1.00 for the asparagus, as it's not one of their complimentary side pairings on the menu. I requested my steak to be cooked medium and it was. My asparagus was cooked just right; not too soft and not too hard, but I thought they were a little stingy with the portion size (see attached pic). The salad was decent as well. However, although a ribeye steak naturally contains more fat and marbling, which typically yields to a more juicier and flavorful steak, mine had a bit more gristle than previous bone-in ribeye steaks I have ordered from Outback. Granted, this isn't a 5 Star Steakhouse and is an 'Outback' chain restaurant (keeping it 100), so I am writing my review with this in mind, but I have had better Outback steaks at this location previously...although it wasn't anything to trip out about. I am admittedly a snob when it comes to chain restaurants. However, since moving to the 'burbs I find myself eating at them more and more. Recently, my mom and I stopped into Outback. I hadn't eaten there in literally about ten years so I was game to try something new. We started with a bottle of the house wine. For $19 we got a decent bottle of wine. I wanted to try the bloomin onion because that is their signature appetizer. It was good but a little salty. It was also huge and even us two greedy gals couldn't put a dent in it. For my entree I had the baby back ribs. They were really good. Fell away from the bone with ease and sauce was good too. I got the half rack and that was more than enough after drinks, apps, bread (yum) and trying some of my mom's salad. At the end of the meal with an appetizer, bottle of wine, two entrees and a kid's meal, our total was $65 (!!!). You can't beat that with a bat! In fact, our meal was so good...we ate there again the very next night. Hey, there aren't a lot of options in D'ville and we wanted a sure-thing so we went back the next night. This time we tried the coconut shrimp. It was very good. Big shrimp and lots of coconut. I also tried the 'rita trio. It was cute and they were tasty, but next time I'd just go for a full-sized drink. I got the ribs again and this time so did my mom. They were still yum. This Outback is in an area where there are a lot of options for steak. I can think of four other chains specifically devoted to grilled hunks of meat within 1 mile of this location. With that kind of pressure you'd think they would be on their game. sadly, they aren't. I don't think i've had a steak thats cooked properly at this Outback in atleast my last 3 or 4 visits. Usually they aren't bad but just not right. The last few times we went (family gatherings) my steak was ok, the wife's was way to overdone. Come on when you order medium and get medium well thats one thing, when you get well done, theres no excuse for that. There are a few saving graces for this place. The service is usually very good and the sides..... well, its hard to mess up sides isn't it, i mean, mushrooms, onions, greenbeans, not really that complex.
