Ribeye steak with loaded mashed potatoes and onion petals.
    Ernesto N.

"Great food, excellent service, and a bartender who genuinely made the night better." I stopped here after a long haul coming in from Texas, cold, worn out, and honestly just needing one good experience to end a rough two-week stretch. Outback delivered exactly that. Atmosphere -- 5/5 Walked in around 8 PM on a cold Friday night. The restaurant was dim but warm, quiet, and welcoming -- the kind of lighting and tone that feels like a holiday evening without actually having decorations up. Clean, calm, and comfortable. The front staff greeted me with genuine warmth. The night supervisor was professional, attentive, and respectful as soon as I walked in. Service -- 5/5 (I'd give 6 if Yelp allowed it) Jasmine, the bartender who took care of me, was phenomenal from start to finish. Friendly without being fake. Professional without being stiff. Warm without overstepping. She: * greeted me immediately * spoke clearly (rarest skill in a busy bar) * offered menu guidance without pushing anything * checked on me at the right times * never let my drink run dry * confidently explained the food * let me try a sample of a local IPA they were considering adding * and made me feel welcome even though I was a solo traveler walking in with work boots and a hoodie after a long shift This is the kind of service chain restaurants wish they had consistently. Jasmine is a huge asset to this location. Food -- 4.7/5 Chili (cup): Came out fast and piping hot. Rich, hearty flavor with no beans -- easily one of the best cups of chili I've had anywhere. Perfect with their bread and my first amber ale. Steak (ribeye, ordered medium rare): The seasoning and char on the outside were excellent -- great flavor, great crust. The steak did come out more on the rare side once I got deeper into it, but the flavor was strong enough that I still enjoyed the entire thing without complaint. The loaded mashed potatoes were outstanding. Blooming onion petals (side): Crispy, seasoned well, and surprisingly addicting with the dipping sauce. Great flavor, though a full portion is a little heavy for one person -- definitely better as a shared side. Drinks -- 5/5 Tried: * the amber ale on tap * the Blooming Blonde ale with the steak The pairing suggestion was spot-on. Whoever designed that match between the steak and the blonde ale knew what they were doing. Price -- Fair for what I got My total was $91 with drinks, tax, and add-ons. For the service and quality I received -- absolutely worth it. Final Verdict -- 5 Stars This visit was exactly what I needed after a long, cold, exhausting day. Outback Steakhouse in Flagstaff gave me a warm welcome, great food, and some of the best service I've had in a chain restaurant in a long time. If you stop by, sit at the bar and ask for Jasmine. She'll take care of you.

Food: 4/5 we got the blooming onion appetizer, filet mignon and ribeye with sides plus a bottle of red wine. Everything was pretty good. Service: 3/5 the service was somewhat slow and not very attentive. Location is pretty convenient with plenty of parking. Not bad overall but service could have been better.

Close to the freeway is nice. Not as fancy as most and a bit run down, but clean and friendly staff. Ordered a trio meal for just under $15. Came with soup, a hamburger, fries and a click of cheesecake with chocolate sauce. My hamburger was cooked as ordered, but it was falling apart making it difficult to eat. Fries were ok, soup was mediocre and cheesecake was the best part.

Food was great! My steak was cooked a nice medium and came out pretty fast after the appetizer. Got the chimichurri filet which I've had at another location- this one tasted much more vinegary. Service was meh. The guy was nice but barely checked on us when we needed things and took a while to bring the check. Ranch is delicious!

I had the deep fried mushrooms which I'm addicted to, and they hit the spot. Then I had the steak which they had a special and it was cooked to perfection Jackson has a great voice and all those kids did a fantastic job of singing I really enjoyed myself Unfortunately, this post is a little bit late cause I was there in January. I hope Jackson is still there if you go and you get seated ask for Jackson he is a pleasure and just a wonderful, wonderful man. I wish him nothing but the best and he's the reason I come back.

The restaurant itself was clean and had a stylish modern-meets-vintage vibe that made the atmosphere feel both cozy and upscale. Their cocktail menu was especially unique. I ordered the Vendetta Ride, and it was easily one of my favorite drinks of the night: light, slightly sweet, and finished with just the right kick. I absolutely loved it. The menu features creative contemporary American cuisine with an emphasis on sharing plates, which made the experience even more fun. We ordered two appetizers, two mains, and a dessert, and overall everything was excellent. My only critique would be the Duck Taquitos. The duck flavor was not there, and the mesquite mole sauce leaned too sweet for my taste. Aside from that, every dish impressed us. Overall, it was a fantastic meal and a great dining experience. I would highly recommend this spot if you're in Flagstaff!

I don't know if chef changes the menus often BUT we had the fattoush salad, the bread board, cabbage, fideo with the venison sausage, and the chicken thighs and for dessert, we had the parsley and the apricot gelato. Yes, it sounds strange, parsley gelato but holy moly, it is probably one of the best desserts I've ever had. It is savory and sweet, so if you like really sweet desserts, it might not be your favorite but it is definitely unique and delicious. Everything was incredible. My only critique is that everything is a shareable and there's no way to serve each item, which is easily fixed with a serving spoon so, not really a critique. 11/10 food Service was great. Attentive without smothering me. Ambiance was good too. Not too crowded. Noise level was good. Go. You will not regret it.

We popped in on a Monday morning hoping to score some great grub and we certainly found some! Cubano ($20.95) - Starting with the bread - it's really fluffy, not toasted or pressed as with usual cubanos. Unfortunately, it's probably a little too light for the sandwich because some parts get mushy from being soaked in all the dijonnaise. The dijonnaise is very sweet, creamy with a mustardy zing. I think they add a bit too much, making the sandwich more fatty and messy to eat than I like (not to mention what I stated before about it soaking into the bread). The meat is fantastic. Both porchetta and ham are griddled on the flat top, giving them a developed and concentrated edge. The ham is to the point of being like country ham, while the porchetta still has great seasoned porky flavor. I believe they griddle the swiss cheese alongside the meat. It melts and crisps up into a cheese skirt, adding a fantastic texture to the sandwich. There's a lot of crinkle cut pickles underneath the meat, but it's not enough acid to cut through all that fat. Sandwiches come with a side of house chips. They are fried until a darker golden brown color, but aren't burnt. This gives a great kettle chip-like crunch. Even with different sized chips, they are very evenly fried with all chips being the same texture. They are salted the perfect amount. (4/5) Aleppo Pepper Pastrami sub Tomato Soup ($22.75) - This place is famous for their pastrami, and I can tell the quality. It's cooked on the griddle until it develops crisp edges. It's fatty, but the fat is rendered so there are no chewy and leathery parts. The meat is extremely tender and thinly sliced. It's honestly almost like bacon in texture, but the taste is completely different, with the exterior spices and pepper making a huge impact along with the rich concentrated meatiness inside. The bread is a nice toasted sourdough, not strongly sour in flavor, but definitely noticeable. The bottom slice is slathered with plenty of nopales studded cream cheese. It's added in a large amount and is an extremely creamy and fatty substance yet somehow doesn't overwhelm the sandwich. It's warm but not melty. The nopales are clearly there but I didn't find it to contribute much. The pastrami is layered on top of that followed by a ton of sweet brown caramelized onions that are very tender. An entire green chile, roasted and super smoky, is above that. Finally, aleppo mustard is spread on the top slice of bread. Between the green chile and the aleppo, there's a slight warmth that tinges the sandwich. It's nothing too spicy. Instead of chips, we opted to sub the Tomato Soup (no fee). It's very homestyle, full of tomato richness in a thick blend. It has a strong tangy tomato essence. There's basil oil drizzled on top for a boost of freshness. The soup is unfortunately quite a bit too acidic for my tastes, but that's only by itself! While very acidic, the soup is actually great as a balance to the sandwich (along with the pickle of course) since there's so much richness and fat coming in between the bread. (5/5) Proper Meats + Provisions definitely serves some great sandwiches. We were considering visiting again for our 2 full days in Flagstaff, but weren't able to make it because they close so early at 6!
