First time here in a long time. Outback is tucked away "off the beaten path" in the Village of Coventry area. The sign towers high off the interstate. You almost need a map (see picture) to figure out how to get there. Getting there requires you to wind behind the Kroger strip mall, thru a round about and then through an apartment complex. This Outback meets the Outback expectations. Same look, feel, decor and menu. The team was very friendly and helpful. The manager escorted us to our table and then proceeded to point out the $10 take-home-entree menu. Our waitress, Maria, did a great job serving us and pacing our dinner experience. The place is large and clean. They have a smaller but attractive bar area. The complimentary table bread is a dark brown honey wheat bread. It was served slightly warm with a plain butter. The bread is slightly sweet, soft but firm and a bit chewy. Nice start! The menu is very large - lots of food and drink selections. It can be a bit difficult to navigate since it is so large. Something for everyone at pretty reasonable prices. My side house salad was very attractive, fresh and tasty. It has a nice variety of side vegetables and crunchy garlic flavored croutons. The honey mustard must be house made as it has a nice mustard zip taste. My wife had the 6 ounce center cut sirloin with a sweet potato. The steak was cooked to expectations, moist and tender. Nice beef taste. The sweet potato was decently large and soft. Easy to mix the butter and cinnamon. Good sweet potato flavor. She enjoyed her entree and side. I ordered the three course meal deal. The half rack of ribs came with a side, salad and dessert for $21.99. I was taken aback that my ribs and large sweet potato came out on one small plate. So small that things easily fell off the plate. Maria did bring me a small plate to put my bones on and another to relocate the sweet potato. The ribs were not very meaty. They were soft and tender. The BBQ sauce was slightly sweet, not spicy and had a very mild BBQ flavoring. Not a traditional western BBQ flavor - just an Aussie flavor! The ribs were good but not outstanding. Cheesecake is the dessert selection. You can select from about six different drizzle flavors. We went with raspberry per Maria's recommendation. The cheesecake was about like you would expect. Soft with a good cheesecake flavor. The raspberry drizzle was slightly sweet with a tame raspberry pop. Overall, a nice dinning experience at a reasonable cost. read more

I love this Outback location. I frequently order lunch or dinner for curbside pickup on the app when I am working in Ft. Wayne. The employees here are very friendly and helpful, and my order is always 100% correct. It has always been ready on time. I especially love the salmon. Outback definitely knows how to cook salmon, it is always seasoned and cooked just right. The carry out orders are well packaged. This location is a little tricky to find. It is highly visible from the interstate, but you have to drive around behind some businesses and through an apartment complex to get to Outback. It's been years since my husband and I have been to an Outback and it has always been pretty good (different location) but our visit tonight to this Fort Wayne location was just awful. I had the chimichurri filet that comes with onion petals and I had a sweet potato and a Caesar salad and a margarita. My filet was actually decent but it wasn't cooked medium like I asked. I would say more med-rare to rare. Apparently they forgot to drain my onion petals because they were absolutely DRIPPING with oil! They were nasty and I could barely eat them. My Caesar salad was DRENCHED in dressing and had so much black pepper put on it in the kitchen making it entirely too spicy. I've never known them to add black pepper to any salad before they bring it out! My sweet potato was average and the bread was meh. My margarita tasted odd and I couldn't even finish it. My husband had the sirloin and coconut shrimp. His Caesar was as bad as mine. His steak was so extremely tough that he barely choked half of it down and the rest is going home to the dog. The shrimp were dry, cold and lacked flavor. As for the service...it wasn't horrible or anything. But I remember Outback being more like a Logan's or Texas Roadhouse type atmosphere. It's like that's all taken away in this place as if they are trying to make it look a little more upscale with a picture or two of a Kangaroo and a koala and overpriced crap. Probably the best outback steak I have ever had. I am genuinely impressed! Into town for work and this was near my hotel so it was a great carry out option on a snowy night. Anyway the app only offers cut side pickup in a car so I called and the girl working the carry out said it was no issue to walk in and pick up, I think her name may have been Lily but regardless she was awesome! Anyways I got the 22oz porterhouse (T bone) cooked medium rare and it was absolutely exceptional. I'm am in town for work from Chicago and have historically had average/below average experiences at outbacks but this was the absolute opposite and I was blown away. read more

This is my last visit here ... so, let me be brutally honest. This place is awful .... The food - the service - the setting Awful I stopped in for lunch a couple of weeks ago - the heat wasn't working properly but I still stayed. It made my lunch miserable. I ate quickly and left. I stopped in again today, I had the Queensland chicken and shrimp. The picture shows a highly seasoned entree topped with a bed of chicken and shrimp. What arrived to the table was like warm mush noodles topped with warmed chicken and shrimp. I ate the shrimp only. 20.99 down the tube. But as my parents always told me "a bought lesson lingers more than a taught one" I had to pay for this , so it won't be quickly forgotten. My server noticed I wasn't eating and simply asked if I was done, I politely said "yes" - my thought was - I'm not only done - I'm finished!! My family and I have eaten now twice at this Outback Steakhouse and can tell you both the food and service is great! The first time we came here, it was the night before our trip to Miami. We all had some chicken wings to start, which were spicy and flavorful. We then each ordered our main course. I had some delicious pork chops, my mom had some chicken tenders, while my brother had a shrimp and lobster pasta. We enjoyed our meal so much, we returned yesterday to this restaurant. Again we started with those yummy wings. My brother ordered the Bloomin Chicken and my mother once again had some chicken tenders. They both found the meals to be absolutely delish. I ordered a slow roasted prime rib which is only available on weekends. It was tender, literally melted in your mouth. This restaurant is great and we are planning to make it one of our go to spots, when we go to Fort Wayne. read more

A few days ago, we arrived in town for a funeral. After a long drive, we needed a good, quiet, sit down meal. My son ordered a rib eye, my husband ordered a sirloin and bloomin' chicken, and I ordered the Alice Springs Chickens. I didn't capture any pictures of our meals, we were so famished! But Zoe was a friendly and attentive waitress, the hostess (I forgot her name!) was friendly on our arrival, and the food was delicious. It appeared to be a slow end to the night (from a customer perspective), so we were able to be seated immediately and get off our feet. They also catered our funeral just a few days later, on Sunday afternoon. Chicken wings, chicken tenders, salad, bread, dessert trays. It was a big hit, even under the circumstances. This is overall the best place to eat in Fort Wayne, hands down. The food is superb, the atmosphere is welcoming and the service is excellent. Sure, you can get 'better food' elsewhere in FW but you are going to pay a lot more. And likewise, you can go elsewhere and pay less, but the food and service is not as good. The staff must have a gem of a Manager because we travel and have gone to many other Outback's, but they don't compare to the one in the Fort. read more

The apps were good. Blooming Onion, Mac n Cheese bites. They were hot and crispy as they should be. The rest of our meals ? Haha. My sirloin steak was embarrassingly bad !! Tough as hell. Very dry. Sooo chewy I spit it out. My fries were barely cooked. Cold and limp. My Cesar Salad drowned in dressing. I ate a bite then ate the croutons. My Coconut Shrimp were awesome. So I just ate them. No seasoning on anything on that sad plate. My Husband had Chicken n Steak Alfredo. Chicken was moist but NO SEASONING ! The pasta had very little sauce kinda dry he said. The steak on his plate was chewy too. He ate 2 pieces, and pushed the other cut up (by the kitchen)pieces off the plate onto empty app plates. The waitress finally came by asked us if we need to go containers. Uuuh no. She got the Manager. He is a very nice guy. Took my dinner off the bill. Surprisingly, after living here in Fort Wayne for three years, I finally decided to try one of my favorite franchises of all time for steak. I've been holding off for many years because of the reviews that I've read, but I was pleasantly surprised on my experience. I would highly recommend that you call ahead for reservation or else you may have to have a long wait, we were promptly seated after only waiting for about 10 minutes and our server was wonderful. I was really excited to order the prime rib, but she was honest enough to tell me that unfortunately the prime rib was cooked too much so it could not be served medium rare that breath of honesty is what is sorely needed. I decided to go with the ribeye which was cooked to order medium rare, the seasoning is always was spot on. Also it's great to see the wonderful outback bread and butter still unchanged after so many years. I only wish they offered to give us more bread after we finished our two loaves. read more

We will no longer be ordering delivery from here. Every time in the last 10 months we have tried the orders are wrong. We figured having had a few months pass it would be good to try again. Wrong! Incomplete and missing items. The last order we had an entree and no sides. No bread. No potato toppings. No sauce on a pasta dish. And no bread. Wrong sides. Previous orders have had entire meals missing. Sides missing. No bread. Incorrectly prepared sides. This was a Mother's Day meal for elderly parents who no longer eat out, but love Outback food. Classic Merica - fat and sodium for days, large menu full of popular favorites, excellent service, fantastic value compared to a few higher end steakhouses, and only lacking a great burger to match all the rest! Our group of six enjoyed all the goods, steak, ribs, pasta, and salmon. The ahi, chicken quesadilla, and Mac n cheese balls did us right to start things too. Should also say the chicken quesadilla is far better than the beef, and the shrimp appetizers are also huge hits on previous visits. I'd like more hot sauce options and drinks for my own personal tastes. Texas has an amazing in house not sauce that's so ripe on ribs. The strawberry bull beverage is the only real original here, wish there were a few others to enhance the dining. Also so much salt in everything isn't healthy at all but always a good time here and will be back. read more

Wow! I and 8 friends dined at Outback in Fort Wayne last weekend. We have never been treated so royally and any restaurant. The service was impeccable! Ray, our server, was attentive, thoughtful, and a delight. We each ordered a different entree, and everyone raved about their meal. My husband and I always choose the wedge salad and loaded baked potato as sides. They are heavenly. The restaurant manager even stopped by our table, to welcome us and make sure we had everything we needed - so gracious. Outback is always such a great experience. It has such a comfortable and tasteful atmosphere, and the staff are always so friendly. Also, the entire building is kept so clean and tidy, which I appreciate. We hesitate to try other restaurants when we know we will be happy at Outback. read more

I eat at Outback often, recommend skipping this one. In town on business ordered an old fashioned it was bad, really bad tasted like bad skunk beer. Had the filet it was definatley cooked in a pan. Not just seared in a pan but cooked in one. Outside was burnt should have been medium but was almost totally raw on the inside. Potato was under cooked likely thrown in a microwave it tasted like salt it had almost no toppings but was totally covered in large chunks of salt. Side salad was the shining star of the meal. I ordered the ribeye and shrimp with asparagus and a loaded baked potato. My steak was thin full of fat and tendons and it was cold. The shrimp were over seasoned and undercooked and cold. I'm sure the health department would be very interested in this! We had 6 people in our party and price wise our dinners were horrible. Meat tough at medium and look like they were cut in a rectangle. Price was high for indecent food. Did not cause a ruckus at the time which would have embarrassed my daughter and she was paying. Was there on 11/6/21, came in around 6:30pm and was told there was an hour wait, which was not an issue. Sadly that hour turned into like an hour and a half and we watched people who came in after us get seated. It was me and my daughter and there were other tables of only two people sat before us. The young man seating people really needs to do a better job. He looked at us numerous times the asked what our name was under as if we just strolled in and didn't check in first. He had the personality of stick in the mud really. That is the reason why you lost a star. The rest of the experience was worth 5 stars all day. Food was excellent. Service was great. Brandon was the best server ever. He checked on us regularly. He thanked us for being nice to him, which tells me other guests weren't.
