Had dinner at Outback tonight. My wife and grandson ordered the sirloin steak and ribs combo to share. The steak was cooked medium rare as ordered. My wife also ordered a baked potato with butter and sour cream. It came with no butter nor sour cream. I ordered a 13 oz. ribeye medium with a baked potato with butter and sour cream. My potato came with a tiny amount of butter (one bite) and zero sour cream. My steak came blackened and well done. Yes we should let the server or manager know so that they can correct the meal. But I was tired and not in a good mood, so I figured that Outback just sent me a message that their kitchen staff doesn't care about the quality they serve. So I didn't say anything. I ate three small bites of the potato and less than 1/4th of the steak. The server Melissa did a fine job. So we paid about $75 and were walking out. An assistant manager had to ask me on the way out if my food was good? I responded "not at all". She inquired why. I explained as noted. She offered to get me a voucher or gift card. I said "no thanks". Why would I want to return to a restaurant that serves very poor quality......just to get poor quality again? So I made sure to tell the asst mgr that Melissa did a fine job. Carla and Christina did a fabulous job. The best Outback I've been to, in a while. I'm very pleased, because several years ago I did not have a good experience at this Outback so they've obviously made some changes and made it a lot better!!! I did order my food to go but they had the best speed and great attention to detail. Carla came out as soon as I pulled up into the parking lot, and I've never had that happen. My husband and I have eaten here since it opened. Recently we have noticed the food quality has diminished. For health reasons I prefer pick up. The pick up servers Karla and Brian have always taken great care of us, but tonight's food was inedible. As always we asked for no pepper on our filets. They were not cooked as requested and were drenched in pepper. That's a lot of money for food you cannot eat. The salads were wilted and the bread stale. I am ashamed to admit that prior to the yelp event at this location, I have never visited an Outback Steakhouse. I'm not sure why, but just never had the chance to. I'm extremely grateful having the opportunity to have had the chance preview and taste their new dishes. We came back here for lunch because of the event. We ordered the steakhouse salad and the outback burger with aged cheddar. Both entrees were superb. Had a big family group totally tired and hangry after a day at Aquatica. Got the bloomin' onion and a ton of other stuff for the 10 of us. Couldn't have been nicer, quicker service. It was a Saturday evening and most other things around were packed, but this place took a bit longer than most to fill up, so we got in just fine at 6pm (it got very busy later). Honestly I've always loved Outback but after this experience I can say there are so many amazing things to try here that will leave you wanting more. My mouth is still watering thinking about this night. We were lucky enough to try a bunch of new additions to their menu and everything was delicious. We started with the traditional blooming onion but with a amazing twist: fries and steak on top!!!! This is a meal in itself and we split this baby between 6 people. Next we had the Ultimate Great Barrier Combo. This was by far my favorite. Perfect for 3 people or more. It comes with a steamed lobster tail, two jumbo lump crab cakes, and two wood- fired grilled shrimp skewers. Served with two must try sauces. As if this wasn't already enough 6 of us split the largest steak I've ever seen and the juiciest might I add. A 18oz Center cut sirloin cooked to perfection with garlic mashed potatoes and fresh seasonal veggies. With all of this we paired the new boomerang beer flight featuring some of the best craft beer I've ever had. The Rogue hazelnut brown nectar was my favorite and it paired great with the largest chocolate cake I've ever seen which we easily split between 6 as well. A six layer cake topped with chocolate drizzle, whip cream and chocolate shavings. My favorite part was the raspberry drizzle I poured on top!! This is my favorite Outback Steakhouse and I hope to come back soon! It took me awhile to review this establishment because I wanted to give the proper review this restaurant deserves. My husband and I went for dinner on a Thursday night and May I say they were busy, BUT there was available seats at the bar. All the workers were busy but they acknowledged all of their patrons. Our server, Casandra, was awesome. She kept her cool and was very efficient with refilling our drinks and taking our order. The proprietor, Chris, was working that floor and greeting all of his patrons. He even refilled drinks. Employees work best when management works and that was visible here. Omg my food though - PERFECT! The meat here is fresh and delicious. And they understand how meat is supposed to be made. I asked for medium rare sirloin for my steak and it was so delicious and juicy. Even for a salad I felt like the sirloin was given so much details. Delicious. I can't wait to go back!! read more

Came here 4 times during my visit in Florida. My last time was my 305th visit to Outback, so I know what to expect. During my visits I got the ribeye, NY, and of course my usual sirloin. All were fantastic. I don't like to go to chain restaurants while on vacation, but due to the close proximity to my lodging, I could walk here. As stated, each meal was perfect and very good. I think my NY steak was the best this time around. They were very busy each trip, but we were able to snag a couple spots at the bar. Waited 10mins for a table which was fine as we were originally quoted a 20min wait. The worst service I've ever experienced. Walked in with a party of 7 and was told they could not serve us due to poor staffing, while I looked over and saw a party of 7 sitting and eating. The hostess didn't seem to understand the hypocrisy of her statement. I'll never eat at another Outback Steakhouse. I attempted to dine at the bar solo. The entire bar was full of customers (I did get a seat). There were dirty cups and plates stacked. However - there were no bartenders taking orders. There were bartenders present but they seemed busy doing things. This location is theme park adjacent and I visited near theme park closing times. let's start this on a massive positive, our server and one of their managers Amy (apologies on the spelling if that's wrong) went above and beyond tonight and they are truly a redeeming credit to this restaurant, That being said, the meal was a complete disaster, prime robe and a steak and shrimp combo arrive stone cold, no worries, these things happen and we send it back, about 5 minutes later the same plates are brought back to us be another manager (who's name I sadly missed), the food is still stone cold at which point he argues with us and told us he "put the under the heat lamp himself so there shouldn't be a problem" I question him on re heating cold seafood under a heatlamp?!? and that the steaks are now even colder and dried out which is kinda impressive in a weird way.. he that argues more with me and storms off in a pissy saying he will get it "cooked fresh" at this point I'm about to up and leave when the other manager Amy steps in and doesn't everything in her power to put it right, food comes and it's fresh and hot! sadly the prime rib was 80% fat, gristle and silver skin, genuinely one of the worst steaks I've ever been served, I would've have served it to my dog kinda bad.. luckily Amy steps in again, sorts it out on the check and we leave quickly before anything else goes wrong.. maybe it was an off night for the kitchen and that manager but hearing table after table around us complain I'm not so sure.. just down the road from here is a longhorn and Ford's garage.. pick better than we did tonight read more

I write this from outside the Outback Steakhouse on Vineland in Orlando. I've just experienced one of the most delightful dining experiences in a very long time. We called for "Call Ahead Seating" and spoke with Jeff, the manager. He was very pleasant even after we called back to change the time due to the uncertainty of Orlando traffic. When we arrived, a few minutes early, Jeff greeted us at the door. We were a little early, but were seated promptly. Jeff was extraordinarily pleasant and accommodating. He is an asset to the company. I had the prime rib (typical Outback fare, but cooked perfectly. My wife got the filet mignon and one of my daughters tried the Outback mac n' cheese for the first time. Then the adventure began. My wife's filet was very undercooked. She sent it back for a bit more work. My daughter didn't like the mac n' cheese. We asked the waitress if she could have a mac n' cheese off the kids menu...and we offered to pay for the meal. My wife's filet came out and the person who brought it out stayed around to see if it was to her liking...it was. This was a very pleasant surprise...in my experience, when you send something back, the kitchen takes it personally and it comes back way overdone. Not this time. The waitress soon brought my daughter's new mac n'cheese and all was right in the world. Plus, the waitress didn't bother to charge the extra for the substitution. Another point for this store. We just left this Outback ! The food was ok, as I ordered my steak medium and it was cooked med./well. But it was edible. My Husbands food was good as he described it. When we placed our names on the wait list I mentioned that it was a Birthday event for our visit, as my Husband chose to eat there for his 70th Birthday dinner. We also mentioned it again when we arrived. Well, guess they don't celebrate Senior citizens, as they were singing to a you get person next to us. But over looked my Husband. He wouldn't let me say anything as we left. Our server also couldn't make change as she shorted our money by 1.00. Which I just deducted from the amount she would have received as a tip. Worst place to get dinner! I usually post only positive reviews of places where I enjoy grabbing dinner (try not to review places where I had bad experiences), but I definitely have to comment about this place to prevent others from experiencing this frustration. Arrived at 8:20pm (my reservation was at 8:30pm). They sat us down at 8:40pm (party of three). I was surprised to find out that the place had reservations open when all other restaurants that we checked in the area where fully booked. My son ordered grilled chicken with fries from the kids menu. By 10:00pm, he still didn't have his food! The waiter said that it was because they had a lot of tables and where busy, but the restaurant was probably half full and all the other tables where complaining about how long it was taking for them to get their order. The manager never showed faced and I think that they clearly don't know or don't care about running the business. Finally, the waiter showed up and said that he was sorry, but it was going to take longer and that we should probably go, unless we wanted to wait for "to-go" boxes. Of course, we just left. We asked to talk to the manager and the waiter said he was busy, but that we were good to go without paying for our drinks! (i.e. my son's apple juice!). read more

This was hands down the best outback experience I've ever had. I've been to plenty of outback's all around Florida and none of them even compared to this experience. We had the most spectacular blooming onion. Fried to perfection. We ate the entire onion. Normally the inside of the onion doesn't get fried enough for my liking so I don't eat all the way down to the bottom but not this time. The bread was warm and fresh. The service was great. I believe Sergio was the cook that night and shout out to him!!! He did his thing!!!! I got shrimp and filet tips that came out just right. The broccoli was so delicious. We got here at about 7:45 PM, hoping to miss some of the dinner rush. Unfortunately, there was a significant wait of about an hour for our party of 5. I saw half the restaurant was not being used. I inquired as to why this was, and the host told us that they were having problems finding servers. Orlando is crazy around this time of year with crowds, it was late and we were hungry, so we figured we would just wait it out. We were glad we did. We have been to Outback Steakhouse often, so we knew about what to expect from the food. I have to give compliments to the chef at this location because the food quality was excellent, and worth the wait. Everything came out hot and fresh, and our server kept our drinks filled without having to ask. The steaks were cooked perfectly to order, and our extra requests for drawn butter and other condiments were quickly filled. Extra hot loaves of bread were brought out without having to ask from the host. The wait and lack of staff aside, the food more than made up for it. The staff they did have worked hard to make our experience worthwhile. Probably the best Outback we have been to in terms of quality of the food being served. read more

Had a craving for a blooming onion. Usually only get this when I'm with a party of 4 and don't get as much as I want, so I went for lunch by myself and got one for myself. Most restaurants treat single people as "second class citizens" but not at this Outback. When I was seated by Cindy, she gave me the seat I wanted and advised that the server was also the bartender, so I might have to wait a few minutes for service. Within minutes the bartender, Jessica, was at my table and took my order. Although I had a small order, she treated me like I was important. What really impressed me was that the hostess, Cindy came to my table, held my hand and asked if I was being taken care of! What a kind service! The blooming onion was a little crisper than I'd had in the past, but that's minor as most people prefer a crispy order. Both Cindy and Jessica made me feel like I mattered. I watched all the people in Jessica's section and saw that no one waited for service. She was amazing! Bottom line--if you dine alone, even if you have a small order, you matter at this Outback. Honestly, the reason this Outback is getting three stars rather than one or two is because of two things: the service was really good and I had a surprisingly good Bloody Mary there, as well. The food was pretty awful (not that I'm shocked about that; given a choice I would never eat at an Outback again as I've never had a *good* meal at one). We had the mac and cheese bites for an appetizer. They were okay but nothing special - they need more mac and cheese filling and less breading, maybe. For dinner I ordered the steak quesadilla and it was barely edible. I can't really place my finger on why, but it just didn't taste good, and the worst part about it was the steak. Okay so like food wise this is a normal Outback. It's always great food, this was no exception. Boyfriend and I came here for sort of a pseudo-birthday dinner, we didn't have to wait at all which was great for a Friday night (this is in a relatively slow location in my opinion - much less busy than the rest of I-Drive). Our waiter's name I believe was Ryan and he was exceptional. I don't know that I've ever had a waiter who was as on top of things (while still being polite) as he was. I'm talking quick delivery of all the food, and refills coming before we even needed them. We've rarely tipped as high as we ended up doing tonight. The best thing about this is the owner, Chris. He came by our table - as good managers do on occasion - asked how everything was. We said it was all great. Now, my favorite dessert at Outback has always been Sydney's Sinful Sundae, but for awhile now it's been taken off the menu so it's a hit or miss whether each restaurant has the ingredients to make it. I asked Chris about this dessert and he went out of his way to scrounge up the ingredients and deliver it to our table. Not only that but he took the time to stay and talk to us, even going so far as to tell us that next time we're going to come in to call ahead and let him know and he'd make sure they have the toasted coconut available for the dessert for us. If that isn't excellent service, I don't know what is. Overall my boyfriend's first visit to Outback was a smashing success. I'm sure we'll be back for that sundae in no time. read more

I came in with my boyfriend and we requested a booth. The hostess was very nice and gave us a very large booth for only two of us which was appreciated. Our server's name was Sergio and he was great! Unfortunately, the one place where things did go wrong was with my side of Mac n cheese. The side was cold and fairly dry (not enough cheese sauce). A food runner girl brought our meals out, not Sergio, I do not know her name but she was a black girl with her hair up with red beads in it. As soon as she placed my dish down I could tell the Mac was dry and asked her for some sauce for it. She said "the cheese sauce?" and I confirmed yes and she said she would get it. She did not get the sauce or even ask the kitchen to make the sauce. After waiting 10 mins for her to come with the sauce I saw Sergio and asked him for some sauce. Sergio came back from the kitchen 2 minutes later and informed me the kitchen needed to make it. Sergio brought the sauce as soon as it was ready. My only complaint is that the food running girl did not do her job and caused me to wait 18 minutes for cheese sauce, and in that time my whole meal got cold. As a former three year restaurant server myself, she definitely needs some more training! I wish she just told me she wouldn't get it for me so I could've asked Sergio sooner. read more

Writing this reviews truly makes me sad because I used to love Outback. I would always get the blooming onion, Caesar salad and depending on my appetite one of the steaks. Last time I went, all the food was sub par at best. My steak was mostly fat and grizzle. The sauce for the onion was different than I recall, and not as good. Further, the salad was way over dressed. Overall, I went with my family to fill a craving we were all having and left this Outback location feeling bloated and disgusted by the good, still hungry and with about $120 less in my account.
