Pricey and Average Food & Service. Well we are two for two with so so service and food experiences. Have this restaurant another try After the first disappointing visit. Tried the skinny margarita, it tasted like ice water with lime. Opted for the blood orange Rita second time around that was good although it did not come with the black salt rim as shown in menu. On first trip I ordered the rib eye after seeing & tasting my friends (which was delicious!) Mine however came extremely salty, my friend agreed it was. Manager came to the table, and apologized but said they do not use seasoning. Well Someone did! 2nd visit; Tried again with the ribeye. Ordered med well, it came very rare. They brought it back cooked correctly, and it was good! No seasoning! Just delicious ribeye flavor. When they brought the plate back, however, with my baked potato was loaded with sour cream. (It was ordered with butter only in the side) So...sent or back again. :( Lastly we tried the mini milkshakes. They are a nice treat but way over priced. $2.99 for a shake the size of the salt shaker on the table! 2 Dinners, 3 drinks, 2 mini minishakes and 1 dessert sampler $87! read more

I ordered what I thought was going to be a filet mignon, sliced with "large succulent shrimp", according to the menu. Only when I ordered medium rare, the waitress informed me it would be medium to medium rare. Only when I asked her, "It's a filet, right?" "Why can't it be cooked medium rare?" She then informed me it was "not a filet mignon", but a cut of beef that was slow cooked. Two thin slices of roast beef (Six oz) along with 3 mediocre shrimp were served with a modest size portion of mashed potatoes for $14.99. I quit smoking, gained 50 pounds, and need FOOD, not children's size portions. Outback corporate executives made a conscious decision to try and "pawn-off" 6 oz of roast beef, 3 mediocre shrimp & modest portion of potato; put as little food on the plate as they could get away with! Then, add the above-mentioned to the "bland" bread they have gotten away with serving since they have opened, add a basic, boring, tossed salad, where you always have to order additional dressing as its dolloped out, never enough, but enough to satisfy many that don't know any better. Even the croutons do not resemble the type they used to use. The Coconut Shrimp appetizer, for the umpteenth time, was again disappointing, served with an inadequate amount of marmalade sauce, and of course the waitress was not there when you needed her, we ate the last 3 pieces without any sauce! Are Outback customers going to tell their neighbor or friend about this catchpenny chain? Oh, they will, they'll tell them to stay away. What was there about my meal that I'd ever say anything positive about? Nothing! I believe this chain, unless dramatically improves, will be on the obituary list within 3 years. Nothing occurred to blame this on anyone other than the "master planners". They planned this! Do they think they're going to stay in business serving roast beef as "filet"? And getting away with serving 3 "large*" shrimp on an entrée? *A large shrimp is usually the 2nd smallest, not largest, one would find in a supermarket. They sell (average) 15-18 ct., for $5-$6 per lb. So these mockie's made an extra $3 on the entree. What's it going to cost them to replace a customer? In this economy, this is a disgrace. read more

There are ratings based on food, and then there are ratings based on service. This place is a stinker when it comes to service, but the food is consistently good... so three stars it is! There is good stuff on the menu. The seared tuna appetizer is one of my favorites. Honestly the best experiences I've had here were when we sat at the bar and just ordered the tuna and a couple margaritas. That combo makes me super happy. Steaks are their thing at Outback, so you can expect them to be prepared well and good cuts of meat. I usually get the mixed veggies and those are really good as well. Oh, but then there's the service. It is never good. The servers are typically nice, but they must have a really high turn-over in their staff because they usually seem like it's their first day on the job. Our server last week didn't know what we meant by "blackened" prime rib. After a lengthy discussion we determined that it was called "Outback style" but come on, it shouldn't be that difficult. And the service is slow... So, so slow. This is one of the closest restauraunts to where I live, and one of the better nearby options for a steak, but the service is what keeps us from going back. About every 6 months or so we go back, either because we get a gift card or we forget about the last incident. So it's safe to say I'll go back again and I can only hope for better service next time. read more

Judging from prior reviews, I guess I was lucky the night we went here. We really enjoyed ourselves. The only downside was that they were out of the appetizer I ordered, which was going to be my dinner. The plus side, is the manager Joe, came over to personally tell me this and apologized profusely. He asked if there was anything else I wanted. I decided against it since I had my fill of the bloomin onion, bread, and some soup already. He asked if he could at least get me some dessert on the house for the inconvenience. Of course I took him up on that! Who can say no to dessert? Not me!! My family's food was good and they were all happy with it. Roman, who was our server, was really nice and checked up on us many times to make sure we were ok and satisfied. Big bummer they didn't have my food, but the apology from the manager and complimentary dessert helped smooth things over for me. Having worked in the hospitality industry for over 15 years, I know how it is when guests' expectations aren't met. But at least they tried to make up for it, which is more than I can say for some restaurants I've been to. I guess this restaurant is hit or miss depending on who you talked to. I did not realize how wonderful this place was until my last horrible experience with Longhorn. The staff here are always super friendly and prompt. Our food is always perfectly cooked and amazing. I have never had a problem at this restaurant and I stop by pretty often. I really love the environment here as well. It's so much fun watching the bartender mix drinks. read more

My wife and I just ate at the Outback on Lake Underhill Rd near Waterford Lakes. The food here is horrible, I can't figure out why anyone would want to eat here. I ordered the " Queenlands Chicken and Shrimp. The Chicken was boiled and then thrown on the grill and was not edible. The Shrimp was under cooked, close to almost raw. I told the waitress and she did nothing. The manager never came to the table to see what was wrong. I gave the waitress a good tip, because it's not her fault. This quickly turned into a place I loved to not so much. Had a gift card and decided to try curbside service. Thank god, because the prices have risen tremendously. In this economy? First of all I had to go back because they forgot the sides? Really, the sides? Then when I questioned why my husband's Steak and Shrimp entree' only contained three microscopic shrimp. When I questioned whether this correct portion I was answered with an annoying "yes, if you want two more it will be $5.99". Really? Wow, how to go from great to not in less than a year. Ordered a fillet today and couldn't even eat it. It was horrible. Medium rare was over cooked tuff, dry and horrible flavor. Perhaps it was just old meat. Then the salad- how do you mess up a salad? I could have beat somebody with the bread it was so hard. I ordered extra glorious french onion soup but YUK It was not edible either, it taste like concentrated soup because it was thick like glue and taste like salt. What has happened to Outback? This place was horrible. Pick another Outback just dont go here. Outback in Winter Park off aloma has never let me down and their margaretts are delicious. Well, this was not our most successful trip to the outback. As it turned out I asked right away if they had a rare Prime Rib to which the waiter assured me the did. However somehow he got mixed up and they, in fact, did not have a rare Prime Rib and that was ALL I was in the mood for. So because of that I did not get a dinner. I ended up eating 1/4 of a Blooming Onion, a piece of bread and my salad before they came out to tell me the bad news. They made up for their blunder by refunding the price of my meal and comping the blooming onion. So I guess things turned out ok. The staff was trying to be accommodating and so was the manager. Well, Outback is Outback, I guess. Sometimes good and sometimes so-so. This one is so-so. Service was excellent but childrens meals eh. Certainly not a good menu selection for vegetarians but, then again, it is a steak house!! Steaks were so-so and blooming onion just did not taste right - as if the grease had not been filtered recently. In general, you get what you would expect from Outback - mediocrity. And parking fills up very quickly requiring many people to park in places other than the Outback lot - we parked in a bank parking lot even though the restaurant was not full!! read more

Such great service and great food. The server, Nicole, was present and available but not overbearing and the floor manager, Jeremy, gave a personal touch as well. I came here to use a gift card I received and because this was Fat Tuesday (day before Ash Wednesday and Lent). I had the cheese fries as an appetizer. Lightly spiced and cheesy with a Ranch House (?) dip. Very good. Made my own surf n turf with a 10 ounce ribeye and grilled shrimp. Medium rare wa s ordered and medium rare was delivered! I had a great solo dinner and will be back again. Update: received the credit card bill today. I tipped generously, I thought. 20% on the original bill before the gift card deduction was fair. The posting showed an additional $.20. My writing was clear, I still have the receipt Twenty cents is not a big deal for me. But does this happen often? I've been here probably 50 times. It's hit or miss. Lately the carry out has been disappointing. I have to always ask for extra ranch or honey mustard because it's always forgotten. I ordered delivery from a third party who messed up my order and I could not get help from them. I called the store directly (who was not responsible) and I received the BEST customer service ever. The manager was incredibly nice and accommodating and fixed everything even though it was not them who did not get the order correct. The food was great (Alice springs chicken sandwich, bloomin onion, baked potato, chicken tender platter, wedge salad and quesadilla) and the service I received was by far the best. A great manager and head of head of the location's delivery (not third party) I have ever received. I was outside of their delivery area just a little and they still made it right even though it was not their responsibility to do so!! Thank you for your kindness and response!! After I received the missing food from Outback Delivery directly (who delivered to me even though I'm a few streets outside of their delivery area), I had cheesecake and extra items to make up for the inconvenience of ordering through a third party. I called the restaurant back to thank them and surprisingly talked to the manager who was as kind, nice and as friendly as her staff and appreciative of a thank you and praise for her staff. I usually really enjoy eating at outback because I love steak. Yesterday I enjoyed a nice piña colada there. That was my favorite part of the meal (very sad to say) well I ordered the 6oz steak with "dressed baked potato" and and Cesar salad. My boyfriend ordered the same thing as me but he also ordered shrimp with it. Well when we got our plates we asked the server (different person) to bring extra sour cream and steak sauce. I couldn't start eating my meal until they brought those items out. My baked potato was barely loaded. It had like three pieces of bacon and cheese and very little sour creme. My boyfriend payed like $4 extra to have shrimp and he got just 3 little pieces of shrimp. Can you believe that? So like ten minutes went by and no one showed up to bring the sour creme and the steak sauce. I was kind of angry because I am not really the person to make a big deal out of things but I really was worried that the food would get cold. Then finally we see the waitress but without any of our items :( so we asked her again for the sour cream and steak sauce and she said she would bring it right out. It didn't even cross her mind that we had already asked for it so she didn't even apologize. We finally enjoyed our meal but I couldn't believe that my boyfriend paid extra money to just have 3 little shrimp so we asked the waiter if the meal normally just came with 3 shrimp and she said yes. My sister and I are big fans of Outback. We are just not big fans of THIS Outback. We have had mediocre experiences here in the past, but this past week was the worst. We were seated in a pretty empty restaurant next to a large party of about 15. This always annoys me in any restaurant. The waitress came by to take our drink order after waiting about 10 minutes for someone to pay us any attention. Just after she left, another waiter came over to take our drink orders. We told him we were already taken care of, and he proceeded to belittle the waitress, saying she didn't know what she was doing and we were HIS table. After much confusion, he came back to tell us she had been cut for the night. All of this was information I did not need to know, and just made the operation seem unorganized. The Bloomin' Onion came out as an appetizer and was pretty good. Halfway through the spicey goodness I had already finished my soda. It took a really long time for our waiter (also the waiter of the large party and a few other tables) to even realize. When he stopped by to see how the food was, he didn't offer to refill our drinks. My sister's salad only came out about 2 minutes before the rest of the food. She was hoping to enjoy it earlier, but I'm sure it was just forgotton about. Once we recieved our main entrees (my sister had the sirloin and shrimp with mac and cheese, and I had a grilled cheese with french fries.). My grilled cheese came out with no french fries. I was told they would be "right out." My sisters meal came out all together, but the mac n cheese was so cold to the point she had to send it back. Our waiter took so long to come back to us that I had already finished my entire sandwich when he realized he "FORGOT" my french fries. Not something I want to hear. He was not apologetic at all. My sister sent back her mac n cheese, and that was also forgotton and brought after she was finished with everything. He was too busy leading a birthday song for the bigger party instead of bringing out her new side dish. The waiter offered no apologies with any of the problems we had, and we left very unsatisfied. We saw the large party receiving great service and felt that he was only interested in receiving a big tip rather than maintaining loyal customers. My boyfriend and I had a delicious meal at Outback on Monday 6/5. I got the new deep eddy's lemonade on Preston's recommendation and it was amazing! Ordered The Melbourne and Pork Porterhouse, definitely would come back for not just the food but the excellent service we received. I absolutely LOVE Outback Steakhouse. Just not the restaurant located on Lake Underhill. The service was iffy at best and the steaks left a lot to be desired. I ordered the Ribeye, which came out looking like the baby of a sirloin and a New York Strip... Yes it was weird to me as well. The flavor was non-existent and the meat was not tender any way you tried to cut it. So, it was a reach for 2 stars for this particular location but I hope they improve as this location is very close to my house. My family and I have been to this location numerous times. Our dine-in experience has been good for the most part, but the to-go experience has been very lack luster. This last time was no different. They were over a half hour past their quoted time that it would be ready. I decided to walk inside to find out what was going on. When I entered, there was nothing in site but a half-eaten dessert next to their computer, where they take orders. As I glanced to the other side of the room I noticed my order sitting there. I finally found someone and asked them to confirm my findings. When they did I asked how long it had been sitting and was told it just came out and that the kitchen had been backed up all night. I was fine with that and left with my order. When we got home not only was our food cold, but my wife was missing half of her order. I decided to call and speak to the manager the next day. The manager I spoke to was very receptive to my issues and wanted time to investigate them. When he called me back and confirmed everything I had told him, he was extremely apologetic and couldn't thank me enough for bringing the issues to his attention. He also wanted to make it right by adding me to their VIP list. The attached photo is part of the result of my being a VIP. It was amazing!
