The tzatziki was fresh and delicious, the muscles grilled calamari was tender and slightly spicy, the baklava was perfect with a hint of cinnamon and a side of crunchy pistachios and the muscles were actually the best I've ever had. The service was kind, attentive, and friendly our waitress even gave us local recommendations. The vibe was on point, we sat in comfortable couches with a solid music playlist and a great view of the harbor during sunset. An inaugural date. He suggested that we try this establishment. I pass it often when I'm on my way to other locations in the area, and have always admired the outdoor seating that is adorned with hues of blue. Gorgeous. Alright, located in the Harbor East, there is valet as well as street parking, which in my humble opinion is dreadful. That back in slanted space thing is for the birds. Unless you have a vespa or a fiat why even bother? Geez. Parking isn't free, I believe those spaces are metered until midnight. If you go up a block towards Fells, those meters generally end at 6p. Ambiance: ahhh shucks. I'm gonna say it is quite romantical. The indoor lighting, the seating, the intimate settings. Yea they tryna set the mood. We sat in the bar area, which I noticed is void of a tv, which I dig. They actually expect you to talk; engage distraction free, couple that with some good liquors and you have a dope set up. To begin, were a couple of old fashioned, made to perfection I might add. However, how one could mess that up is beyond me. For dinner I had the scallop entree, which came with a puree of sorts, brussel sprouts and tomatoes. The presentation was absolutely phenomenal. My date for the evening got the I believe lamb steak which came with fava beans and potatoes. Okay, am I the only one that thinks of Silence of the Lambs when someone mentions fava beans...oh and how you need them with a nice Chianti...bwahahaha! Sorry I digress. My entree was delicious! The scallops were cooked to perfection, the brussel sprouts were roasted well, they weren't overcooked and they had great flavors, it really married well with the tomatoes and the puree. Initially I was skeptical as I thought that it wouldn't be filling, but I was quite satisfied. My date thoroughly enjoyed his meal, as it was punished! I did taste the potatoes and I was pleased, they were thinly sliced, baked and it tasted as though there may have been a cheese of sorts mixed all up an through. For dessert we had this custard that had phylo and what tasted of cinnamon and honey. The custard reminded me of what one might find in a creme brulee, but mixed together it tasted great. Been meaning to come here for ages because I love seafood. Finally came here on a saturday a few weeks ago for my birthday and was not disappointed. We ordered a tuna tartare as an appetizer, and for the main course I ordered the gulf red snapper while my friend ordered the royal Dorado. They also provided a complimentary bread basket. The tuna tartare was decent, fish was fresh and the flavours were balanced (acidity wise). My fish, the snapper, was perfectly cooked. Flavour was also on point. I tried the Dorado (which was cooked in a similar way with the same spices etc) as well, but I do prefer the slightly nutty flavour of the snapper. I cant say much else since it was a while ago and I really don't remember other than a general very good impression. If I were to come here again I would most definitely order any of the fish/seafood entrees again. I was apprehensive about visiting this restaurant considering its seemingly racist dress code policies that made news headlines about a year or two ago (the main reason I had to knock off one star from this review) - but I had seen such cute tiktoks about "Ouzo Beach" and I happened to be in Baltimore one evening so decided to give it a try. The first good sign was that I was able to call and get a reservation 15 minutes beforehand. Everything was booked up on OpenTable so I felt very accommodated. The staff was very pleasant and attentive. The Ouzo Beach area where I ate is across the street and had such a cute vibe that I felt like I was on vacation. I ordered the Symposium cocktail ($18) which was really good and alot bigger than I expected so I definitely felt like I got a good bang for my buck. It also comes with a tajin rim which I absolutely loved. I ordered the crab cakes and lamb chops and both were SO good. If you're a MD native, you know any crab cake in Baltimore, let alone MD, is worth trying so I highly recommend it! We came here on a gorgeous spring afternoon for Happy Hour. We first sat outside but we moved indoors after some of us started to sweat, and they have no problems setting us up inside. We ordered a few of their happy hour drink specials as well as snacks. We got the flaming cheese - which was lit up at our table. Super cheesy and delicious. We also ordered the fried zucchini chips - sliced paper thin, coated in a batter and fried. They were well seasoned and we ended up ordering a second order for the table. We also ordered the fried calamari, which was very tasty as well. Happy hour menu items are very reasonably priced for this area. Can't wait to go back! Everything about this place is exceptional. Incredible ambiance, solid service and masterfully prepared food. My companion and I decided to try out happy hour (weekdays 3-7) and it surpassed my expectations. We mainly came for food as we're not big drinkers but we each got mythos beer, split calamari, grilled octopus, lamb sliders, and the lamb shank. Everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned and reasonably priced! My favorite had to be the lamb sliders- ground lamb that just crumbles and melts in your mouth. For dessert we decided to splurge on $12 loukoumades. They were good but actually more dense than traditional loukoumades. Arguably this is a task few restaurants have mastered. We had a really lovely dinner at Ouzo Bay the other night. We enjoyed the first part of our evening on their terrace with a view of the water. It began to drizzle so our waiter prepared a booth for us inside without us even having to ask. Our server took excellent care of us the whole night and even brought our birthday girl a complimentary dessert with a candle. The food was fresh and well prepared (pictures included). They also had a nice craft cocktail list. The restaurant was clean with a wonderful ambiance and moderate noise level. Portion sizes were extremely generous and we took food home in doggy bags because it was too delicious to leave. All in all a great experience and I would definitely return! read more

So I have to start this review with a thank you to the staff for being helpful and acommodating to our large party late night, without reservations, considering we had to leave another restaurant where we had reservations for not being as helpful. Although we preferred outside because of covid, the heating lamps didnt seem like they were keeping anyone warm and that night was chilly, so we sat inside. The place was jumping. They tried to socially distance parties but not really possible. Now to the food: It was good, buuuuuut I'm not sure if everything was worth the cost. We had a party of 12 so we got some individual meals and shared some stuff. What we ordered: The calamari - I love a grilled calamari! So i was excited for it. It had a very good flavor, but there was a big piece of plastic in my dish. So I had to send it back. Whomp. The octopus - Exellent! Would go back for it. Mussels - Ok. Needed more salt and the feta cheese was an interesting addition not sure it helped much. In fact at some points the feta overpowered the mussels. Red snapper - Good. You get a whole fish that they fillet, but again it needed some salt for me. Scallops - Excellent! Would order again. Be mindful it has a sauce with lamb so it is not non meat eater friendly. Lobster pasta - I think this was the most expensive dish. It does come with lots of lobster meat. It's a great portion to share but needed salt. Lots of it. Lamb chops - I didn't taste this but heard it was good. Asparagus - Needed salt and the dill was weird. And i love asparagus. Whomp. Mac and cheese - Amazing! One of thos truffle mac and cheeses. Ouzo Bay has by far one of the best Happy Hour deals in Baltimore. Drinks are cheap $4-$7 range and are solid; the food items are $8-12 each and they are mouthwateringly delicious. I love going there after work for a quick drink and a bite. They're also open quite late for happy hour, until 7pm. My personal favorites are the spanakopita, the swordfish, and the calamari. Went here for a business dinner and would absolutely not recommend it for that purpose- no transparency in pricing and not worth the price. At the reservation we were quoted ~$150 per person, we asked for a little less and they quoted ~$130 if we did family style Greek salad instead of individual appetizers. Somehow at the end of dinner the bill was like $250 per person - even with half the table just drinking water and the rest maybe 1 or two glasses of wine! Ouzo Bay has actually been on my bucket list for quite some time now. Had the opportunity to visit over the weekend to celebrate a personal accomplishment and had an overall decent experience. It was super hot out so we opted to sit indoors. The decor was very nice and their overall aesthetic was inviting. They're a Mediterranean restaurant but I didn't necessarily get that "vibe" from the decor. Our waitress was attentive to us as well. I didn't get a starter, but I did order drinks; Olympian's Delight * $16 bank 5 island rum, mastiha, coconut, strawberry, lime - Had a kick but not memorable. Definitely tasted more liquor than its flavor. For dinner I shared their Whole Maine Lobster Pasta * $95 2lbs maine lobster, roasted tomato lobster sauce, house bucatini pasta- this pasta was perfect for two people and very filling. Beware, it's al dentè cooked, but a bit on the "harder" side which caught us a bit off guard. It's meant to be more "authentic" according to our waitress. We thought it was delicious none the less. I wish I could give 2.5 stars. Two seems a bit low, because the food was overall decent, but three is definitely too high because we'll never be back. We went last night for a date I was hoping for a quiet, romantic evening but it was everything but. I think what irritated me the most is that when we showed up for our 6:30 reservation, the restaurant was about half full. I asked if we could sit outside because as soon as we arrived I could tell it was VERY noisy inside. I was told that that they were completely booked for the night and they would have to put us inside. Fine. I get that, however, from the time we sat down to the time we left I watched 4 tables outside remain unoccupied. Why couldn't we have sat there? Certainly not due to COVID because there were no other COVID protocols in place. When we left I saw 3 more tables outside unoccupied on there other side of the restaurant. Instead, we were placed near the bar at the most awkward table. There was a huge pillar in between us and it was so loud I couldn't hear my husband talking, and the waiter had to shout at us so we could hear. Also, the way the table was positioned, the wind from outside kept blowing me in the back of the head so I spent the whole evening picking pieces of my hair out of my mouth while I was eating. Between the noise and the wind I seriously couldn't wait to leave. As for the food and drink, they were out of 2 of the 8 cocktails featured on their menu, both of which we wanted. What we got instead was unmemorable, which is disappointing considering they were $16 a pop. For food, we ordered the ceviche of the day which had tuna and salmon. It did not taste fresh. The grilled squid was good, but nothing special. We both got grilled fish which was cooked appropriately and did taste fresh. For sides we got grilled vegetables and lemon potatoes, which were literally steak fries with some parsley on top. Potatoes were dry and no flavor. The vegetables were basic vegetables with balsamic drizzle. Nothing special. For over $200 we would never come back and can't recommend. read more

Came here for my birthday with a friend. This place is a bit pricey, but worth a splurge once in a while. It's located on the water of the Inner Harbor close to construction of new condos and the new home of Whole Foods Market. As we sat by the window, it was not the most pleasant view of construction equipment, but the wait staff and food more than made up for it. Our server was well versed in all things Ouzo and it was refreshing. We started off with a cheese appetizer that was flambaed right at the table! It was a spectacle to see and eat as well. Once the flames died out, the dish was served with small crusted bread slices. I could come here and eat this and be okay. We decided to order the salmon and crab cake dishes and they were good. The salmon was cooked to perfection and the crab cakes were tasty with little to no filler. I had a drink consisting of smoke bourbon and Ouzo liqueur and though I insisted that I did not like the taste of licorice-based drinks, I was pleasantly surprised of the taste, which only provided a hint of licorice. Parking is located at the public garage a street over and the restaurant is only a block south of that. All in all a great dining experience and I will surely be back again. read more

I visited Ouzo Bay on a Saturday evening to celebrate my mom's birthday. After reading the Yelp tips and reviews, I made a reservation about a week advance to guarantee a table. When we arrived, I valeted my car. I'm aware that the valet is run through Harbor East so I won't complain about that. If you can find street parking on your own, do that instead of valet. We were about 10 minutes late for our reservation but were quickly seated. My mom received a lovely birthday card, which I thought was a nice touch. We were greeted by our server and her trainee. I am notorious for asking a million questions but our servers were very helpful deciphering all of the unknown ingredients as well as Greek wines. We started with the flaming saganaki appetizer. I'd seen this on TV was very excited for the theatrics. It was a bit understated compared to what I'd seen on food shows, but that's understandable given the limited space in the restaurant. Our appetizer, bread and drinks took little time to come out but there was a pretty substantial wait for our food. We didn't realize receive any updates from our server about this, but we noticed tables that were sat long before us slowly getting their food. I will say, however, that the food was worth the wait. I ordered the sea bass which was a beautifully prepared dish in a light tomato broth. I'd give it a 7. I was incredibly jealous of my parents' orders, the seared scallops and veal chop. Both were 10s in my book. We decided not to order dessert but they bought a piece of baklava with ice cream as my mom's birthday treat. Walking in I got a very fancy vibe with the decor and environment. We wanted to try this place for brunch for a while now so we went in on a Saturday. It was pretty empty as it had just opened. The staff were friendly but were not really attentive. And when we were done with our food, we felt like we were being rushed out of there even though there were only 2 other groups there! We had to ask for the bill a few times, once we got it, it took a while for it to be taken. As far as food, I got the fried chicken sandwich with fries, which was overall decent. The chicken could have used some more flavor. The sliced jalapeño was a nice addition. They also serve raisin bread with olive oil in the beginning and considering i'm not a fan of raisin bread, it was pretty delicious. This is without question the absolute worst brunch service I have ever experienced. Everything was incredibly slow. We waited over an hour just to place our order, after asking for help twice. The bar staff was unwilling to help take orders for guests, which left the sole poor waitress completely overwhelmed and unable to keep up. To top it all off, at one point a manager approached us and offered to comp our meal for the extra long wait, but when the check was presented we were charged in full for everything. I have been coming to Ouzo Bay since they opened. This review is based off of multiple experiences across a variety of events. For a casual early dinner this used to be a great spot before the start of all the construction around it. Hopefully once the construction is done you can once again sit outside and enjoy the views and the sunset with a nice glass of wine and a tasty meal. They have a bar but it's so noisy inside and dimly lit that it feels a bit claustrophobic with the limited amount of space around the bar. I think the bar feels like somewhere people hang out before and after their meal. I don't think I would recommend coming here just to have a drink. For a nice romantic dinner you cannot beat this intimate location. Whether you are dressing all the way up to the nines or business casual, it feels like a great date night. The food is amazing across the entire menu. I am not going to go through an item by item list but suffice it to say that the fresh seafood is where they shine the most. You get an upscale meal at a pretty reasonable price. This is where they win their stars. For larger events unfortunately I have had mixed experiences. We celebrated our engagement by gathering both families for a nice meal here (7 people). Despite telling the staff what we were there to celebrate we ended up sitting at a relatively cramped table in the middle of the dining room floor. We could barely hear each other speak let alone engage in conversation with anyone at the other end of the table. The food was as always amazing, but it was a little disappointing in the service for that type of event. For my next large event (15 people) I reserved a private dining room based on my previous experience. The room, and the food were amazing. We got the ambience we needed for our party. Having said that I made the reservation with the private dining staff for 7pm but was notified later that it would have to be pushed back to 8pm because they were "so busy with a conference in town". They arranged for us to have a private table by the bar for a cocktail hour from 7 to 8 while we waited, since we had already notified everyone of the 7 o'clock start time. When we arrived it became clear that they had booked another party for just before ours which is why they pushed us back. 'Well no big deal' I thought, 'they set up a table for us at the bar for a cocktail hour for 7 to 8 while we're waiting.' Unfortunately when we arrived at 7 they had allowed a group of three to sit at our reserved bar table to eat their meal. They promised me they would clear it, but it wasn't until 730 when we were starting to crowd the table that the other group finally left of their own accord. Frankly I think the management did a poor job of planning and they should never have sat someone there, but once they had sat them, and then our group arrives, it's their responsibility to make our space clear. Unfortunately the problems continued as they were unable to clear the other party out of the private dining room on time and our 8 o'clock start got pushed back even further. By 815 we had convinced them to bring us some appetizers to the bar... and once again I think management should have anticipated this need and it should not have been required for us to ask for it. By 830 we were finally sitting down in our dining room and ready to eat. Once again due to inadequate planning they were not prepared to start service at 8:30... Even though our initial dinner plan was for eight and this was a prix-fixe menu. When the food finally arrived at around 9 o'clock it was, as expected, delicious and plentiful. Overall I would highly recommend this location for a date night meal or a small group of loud boisterous friends. I would not come here for a quiet night out or with a large party unless you are reserving a private dining room, and are coming early enough that you are unlikely to have your start time pushed back by another party running late. If I had only come here on date nights I would probably give them five stars... But if I had only come for the two large events they would probably get three stars. read more

This was a great Valentine's Day lunch meal. I had the Bronzino and it just melted in your mouth. They deboned a whole fish for you so all you have to do is eat it without worrying about any bones.
