Love this place! Simple, delicious and quick. We stopped by on Mother's Day morning and beat the crowd. Our table enjoyed Avocado Toast (perfect!! and filling); breakfast sandwiches with sausage (scrumptious) and veggie. This place is the truth. I live .5 miles away so we grab food from here all the time. Everything is insanely delicious! The taco (3) of the day is great, as is/are the chicken noodle soup, burgers, fairly traditional (or what Americans accept as traditional Mexican) Mexican comfort food, egg sandwiches, avocado toast, hash, etc. they have Mexican Coke and Jarritos Mexican sodas for $3 ea. Warning: this place loves putting radishes in their dishes so if you dislike radishes be aware of that. The staff is not friendly but I don't care. I lived on the east coast for 20 yrs and I'm not friendly. Can't order on the phone, only in person or online (online ordering for Owl is annoying. I've been here twice so far -- first experience was better than the second, but I will likely go back, so there's that. My first time, I had a sampling of many things: the fried chicken sandwich, queso fries, and the cinnamon roll. All quite delicious! The cinnamon roll was crispy but still very moist and the right amount of sweet. The queso on the fries was incredible! The chicken sandwich was pretty good too but it could have used some more seasoning. The second time, I also had a variety of foods including a hash and the nachos. This time around, the queso was not as good which resulted in the nachos being slightly sub-par. It needed more salt and a bit more spice to pair well. The hash was pretty good, though the potatoes could have used more salt and maybe some other spices too, just to kick it up a bit. read more

This was such a nice hip little place to have lunch. Everything was fresh and delicious! The avocado, grilled jalapeños, cheese, were all cooked to perfection on a toasted brioche bun. The chorizo chili was better than any I've ever had. The chili cheese fries are unique as this place has a nice Mexican/ American fusion. The coffee was fresh with unfiltered honey. This is a Great place to eat and have a great conversation with the staff. AWESOME food & Friendly people that work there with food recommendations. I had the green juice which was delicious it was a cucumber pineapple lemon type drink, Which I had a complimentary Taste of before ordering. The Mexican chicken soup was absolutely fantastic, it was an actual homemade rich chicken broth with tender noodles carrots celery and large pieces of chicken off the bone very very good. Chicken wings were cooked to Perfection and very meaty, dry rub was delicious however very spicy. Cilantro potatoes were amazing also buttery little spice garlicky crunchy on the outside and tender in the inside very yummy. The chicken fried chicken and gravy was the absolute highlight of the night, crunchy fried chicken breasts with a great poblano cheese sauce topped with fresh peas and the toast was delicious and it also came with the cilantro potatoes. Poor service (not so much the fault of the employees, more the fault of the layout), coffee refills a hassle, asked for an egg sandwich with avocado but was talked into the avocado toast instead...not an inspiring dish. Grilled cinnamon roll served dry and unappetizing. Breakfast for two came to about $30--for that I really need a few refills on my coffee. read more

The OWL is small, VERY small, so just pick your most favorite person and go for breakfast (I did go back for lunch but breakfast is my favorite there). Unfortunately when we got there they were already sold out of cinnamon roles (you'll see they are highly recommended in the reviews-so go early and order them!) I ordered the hash with eggs and my husband got an egg sandwich. I would highly, highly recommend the hash, so good. I also ordered a mexican hot chocolate which was absolute deliciousness and I forgave them for not having any cinnamon roles for me after drinking it. I want to reiterate how small the place is-do not go with a group larger than 3 or it will be hard to converse (because you will be sitting counter style) but do go! read more

This place gets packed, expect to wait in a decently long line to order, but they prepare your food fast once it's ordered. Chilaquiles. Go and get them. Also get the chicken wings and slather them with matcha, a delicious garlic, chile, oil concoction that goes good on everything and is always on the counter (nice!). I would go back, but it wouldn't be my first choice. Maybe late at night when other spots are closed. I ordered the chilaquiles, but also tried my friend's tacos, which were better than my order. I LOVE Mexican food but am pretty picky about it having lived in Mexico and experienced the real deal. OWL's food is more Mexican-American/Southwest inspired and overall, it is fine. It's a small place that gets very busy and crowded around normal meal times. Had a fun, relaxed vibe but felt a bit claustrophobic. read more
