Minced pork bean paste noodle with thin round noodles.
    Leslie H.

This place never fails to feed me well! The noodles are chewy and super customizable in size. The only thing I wish was better was their portion size! Too small for my appetite haha. I always consider getting an extra portion of noodles and this time, the extra portion seemed bigger than my original order! Also, the portion sizes don't seem consistent. Service is fast, if a bit brusque and they don't talk to you much. Maybe that's a good thing. But there is usually already a jug of water at the table so you don't really need to ask them for anything.

Lunch date with hubs. Debated between fish soup, ox and Mifen and ended up here. We were in and out in 30 mins. Super fast service. Stewed pork rib noodle soup: 4/5 braised beef was more flavorful. Small round noodles are too thin and ended up being overcooked with a soft texture. Braised beef with Chinese pickles noodle soup: 5/5 big portions and tasty broth. Similar to the one at valley fair. Again small round noodles were too soft. Spicy pig ear: 4/5 good with a nice kick to it. Glad to finally have tried this place!

Came here with some friends at night time and we all left satisfied! Taste: 5/5 stars! Everyone loved their dishes. I personally liked the pork. They let u adjust different ingredients as well! Parking: There's some street parking and plaza parking Service: You order through a qr code and they bring out the food quickly!

凉皮was the best dish by far. Spicy and soy saucy in the best way. Also very chewy IMO could have used vinegar but they have it on the tables The soup noodles were pretty standard flavor wise. The knife cut noodles had fantastic texture though

When the staff speak better Chinese you know it's good. I also appreciate the are English and Chinese menus; you can never tell exactly what it is from the English translation. I can say the noodles are definitely authentic. Some places they have knife cut noodles instead of knife shaved noodles so I was glad they actually had the shaved ones. The broth is flavorful, the meat as well and they didn't skimp out on it. This is the best chain for authentic Chinese noodles I know of. Service is good too. The staff let us know about allergen information, and was helpful when I called ahead. There's cool decorations like a noodle bowl model and cool logos inside, and plenty of seating.

This place has been on my list of places I wanted to try for a while now, and we finally got to try it recently. Overall it was pretty good! You order through your phone and service is pretty fast bringing the food. I got their classic Lanzhou hand pulled noodles with large wide noodles. The broth was very tasty and the noodles had good texture. I felt like the meat was just okay, but I was happy with everything else. It's also fairly small inside and can get busy/cramped, so keep that in mind if you go during busy times. I'd recommend stopping by!

Beef noodle soup with Chinese pickled vegetables 3/5 - this was a bit bland. Broth didn't have much flavor but the beef was tender. I liked the noodles as well Next time I will get their dry noodles. I had a taste and it was really good

    Mala Spicy Beef Noodle Soup

Got here at around 5 PM on a Tuesday night and it was relatively empty, left around 6:30 and if you came in then there still would be no wait time but it did start to get fuller. We tried the Mala Spicy Beef Noodle Soup and the Langzhou Handpulled Noodle Soup. The Mala one was ordered with the large flat noodles, which I would highly recommend as they absorb the flavor extremely well. I would recommend asking for a pair of scissors to cut them tho as their a longly connected strong of noodles. Mala flavor was definitely there as well. For the Langzhou Handpulled Noodle Soup, it wasn't as spicy as I would prefer but if you can increase the spice level with the provided chili oil on the table. I got the normal round noodles but I thought they were rather thin, and look to try the medium round noodles next time. There great thing about this place is that it's not crazy expensive, the food comes out in like 10 minutes, and their noodle quality is great! Just have to make sure to order the right things. A solid 4.2 stars for me!

We visited OX9 Lanzhou Handpulled Noodles on a Friday evening, and waited about 10 minutes to be seated outside. The (dog-friendly) outdoor seating didn't have much ambiance, but the interior looked pretty casual too. We ordered a few starters to share between the 4 of us - Cucumber With Garlic Sauce (nice, refreshing), Marinated Cucumber Salad (more of a wasabi flavor), and the Spicy Wontons (couldn't have these, but everyone else loved them). For my entree, I was somewhat limited as a non-pork eater, and chose the Chili Oil Noodles with Braised Beef. These were pretty good, and the beef was especially well-prepared and soft. However, my friends seemed more excited about their dishes, like the Stewed Pork Ribs Noodle. Service was quick and efficient. Overall, good for dinner but probably more exciting if you eat pork.

Lanzhou hand pulled beef noodles with belt flat noodles (no spice)

I kept seeing this place along Downtown Mountain View since its grand opening, and I've been interested in trying this place out. We came by on a chilly evening in December for some much needed warm soup noodles. We showed up by 5:30 on a Sat evening and were seated quickly, but the dinner crowd was emerging when we left the restaurant an hour later. My boyfriend and I both got soup noodles - I opted for the Lanzhou Hand-pulled Noodles (no spice, belt flat noodles) and he got the Braised Beef Stew Noodles (spicy, large flat noodles). Both soups came out fairly quickly. I loved the chew of my belt flat noodles, and it was a good thickness as well. The no spice broth was fairly light overall, but I wish there was more flavor in the broth. Mainly tasted like a very light salted broth overall. My boyfriend's broth was surprisingly not spicy by my tastes, and I have a pretty low tolerance towards spicy foods (for example, hot cheetos is on the upper level of my spice tolerance, and his broth was less spicy than that). If anything, his broth was more flavorful with barely a hint of spice. We weren't sure if it just happened to be the day we showed up or if it was truly intentional, but I guess we'll have to come back to see if that's the case! I mean, I can't get enough of those noodles!

Came here with friends craving real Lanzhou beef noodle soup and Ox 9 delivered the goods. Ordered both the spicy and the clear broth to compare. The spicy is the one to get. Deep red chili oil on top, beef broth underneath that tastes like it actually simmered for hours, tender braised beef, bok choy, scallions, and cilantro finishing it off. Heat builds slowly and stays there, not the cheap instant burn you get at lesser spots. The clear broth version is clean and comforting, more for the purist crowd, but the spicy has way more depth. Noodles are the real deal. Hand pulled in house, chewy with that perfect pull when you bite in, holds up in the broth without going soggy halfway through. You can order different thicknesses, which is the move. The cucumber salad appetizer is a must. Whole cucumber fanned out like a dragon coil, dressed simply with garlic, vinegar, and chili. Crisp, cold, cuts through the spice of the soup perfectly. Get one per person, trust me. Service is fast, prices are fair for what you get, and the bowls come out hot and massive. One of the most legit Lanzhou spots I've had in the Bay. Already planning the next visit.

The shop looks underwhelming from outside but i'm glad we went in and discovered a good handpulled noodles place. Self ordering makes it easy since i spend a bit extra time looking up photos of each item. Finally orded 1 dry and 1 soup noodles. Both were delicious. Super flavorful and the portion is insane for the price. Will definitly come back to try more ! The space is quite limited and they also want to maximize the space so it does get very skin-to-skin with other people. I did ask for the table in the corner and they had to problems with :)

    knife cut noodles, not recommended
    Jungmin R.

Unfortunately, this place wasn't for me. 1 star for the knife-cut noodles. The length and width were too inconsistent--the first piece I picked up was as short and fat as a sliced rice cake--and the texture was almost gooey, which made it unpleasant that I couldn't finish. The broth was good but on the lighter side. There weren't many toppings. Their round noodles were good.

It just happened to be today that we got to go visit one and I was pleasantly surprised. From the quality and speed of the food to the prompt service, my visit exceeded my expectations. Firstly, their Signature Udon, it's not like anything I've ever experienced and it was great! That creaminess, that umami-ness, that well balanced saltiness, it was very good and I'd definitely get it again. My wife got the Tonkatsu Udon and that in itself was very good. It wasn't just replacing ramen with udon noodles, it was more to enhance and make it all work. We ordered a kids udon and the quality of the fried corn and multiple items prepared seemed thoughtful. We also ordered the Udon Meshi, which was good, but the other items shined. Service was great. Granted, we were the first in the door, but we were greeted by multiple wait staff and water level was always kept above half. The restaurant itself has great ambiance. Tables that seat many people comfortable and some tables that allow for a more romantic setting. Parking may get tricky, but a worthy spot to visit.

I will say that sometimes their broth is a bit spicier than described, so just keep that in mind! You can always spice it up with the sauce bar if it's not spicy enough for you. The service is usually fairly good. It's self serve while you build your bowl of toppings, most of the service is at the beginning then just refilling water and giving you a to go container. It gets pretty busy, so it can be noisy and a bit of a tight squeeze between tables. The wait isn't too bad though because there's a lot of tables!

My daughter couldn't resist trying everything and her mix dry pot was over two pounds. She took leftovers home. I selected 4 beef rolls, half a tube of soft tofu, two shrimps with the head, two lobster/crab fish balls, two types of mushrooms, baby bok choy, broccoli, and achoy. It came up to 1 pound 4 ounces and I selected the tom yum soup. It was a little salty but delicious and more than enough for one meal. I dipped it in chili sauce for added spice. There was a spice center with different spices, green onions, & sauces. It is one pound minimum for $14.99 lb. I was super full. Next time, I would take half of it home. Service was great. We walked up to sign in and they asked how many and gave us a table. We filled our bowls and someone was sitting at the assigned table. The cashier had someone move them so we were all good. The place is actually clean considering all the different bowls of raw ingredients to choose from. Tables were white with plastic orange/black bowls, chopsticks, and orange plastic spoons. It took less than 10 minutes for our bowls. Everything was hot & heated thru. They also refilled water. Employees weren't overly talkative but they were polite.
