From the moment we entered, until we left; we had the best food and service. We ordered the garlic cucumbers; tasty. The spicy wontons, tasted good; not as spicy as I suspected it would be. An order of lamb stew and beef stew; both tender and delicious. Service was wonderful; very kind staff and the restaurant was clean. You have the option of eating in doors or outdoors.

Seated very quickly on a Thursday night. It was loud and bright and crowded inside. Beef itself was flavorful, broth was lighter. The dry noodle dish was tasty. But for both dishes, the noodles seemed a bit undercooked / raw. I felt like there was a lot of potential here, but expected more. Still pretty solid flavors though!

I had reasonable expectations for this place because it was recommended. The place is dirty and poorly decorated. Like every surface is slimy and there are crumbs everywhere. The bathrooms are gross. Beyond the grunge, the staff is downright rude. Seriously, at least pretend to like your job or your customers. Put on a fake smile and do your job. Not these guys. The food is pretty bad. The popcorn chicken was a generous portion but it has almost no flavor. The spicy wontons were just strange and chewy. The beef noodles were again cheap beef with chewy tasteless noodles. They provide seasonings at the table which we dumped in the food, but it really didn't help.

Glad to check out this location of Ox 9 on Castro Street. I love their hand-pulled noodles and was in the area. This location has a nice outdoor dining area as well as interior. And like other locations, service is fast. You order from a QR code at the table, and food is brought out. My chili oil noodles, which I have gotten at other locations, weren't quite as spicy as other spots. I had them add beef, and it was the sliced rounds of beef, not the stewed beef as in other locations. My friend found the lamb with noodles a bit too spicy, might have been him. The garlic cucumber was good as usual. I think I prefer the Cupertino location but this was pretty good.

This is my first time trying this place, but not my first time trying hand pulled noodles. When they say spicy, they really mean spicy. Their spicy pig ear and spicy beef was a four out of five for those who usually don't eat spice. but the flavor of those appetizer are really, really good. The pig ear was nice and crunchy, and the sliced beef was really tender and soft. Now this was my first time trying to put noodle with more of a peanut sauce. I usually eat it with chili oil and vinegar, but this time it was more of a peanut sauce which tastes pretty decent. It was more of a self service where you scan the menu and self order. The ambience was really nice because the restaurant was more of a Chinese theme. Makes the place really interesting. I am definitely coming back

Lunch date with hubs. Debated between fish soup, ox and Mifen and ended up here. We were in and out in 30 mins. Super fast service. Stewed pork rib noodle soup: 4/5 braised beef was more flavorful. Small round noodles are too thin and ended up being overcooked with a soft texture. Braised beef with Chinese pickles noodle soup: 5/5 big portions and tasty broth. Similar to the one at valley fair. Again small round noodles were too soft. Spicy pig ear: 4/5 good with a nice kick to it. Glad to finally have tried this place!

This place never fails to feed me well! The noodles are chewy and super customizable in size. The only thing I wish was better was their portion size! Too small for my appetite haha. I always consider getting an extra portion of noodles and this time, the extra portion seemed bigger than my original order! Also, the portion sizes don't seem consistent. Service is fast, if a bit brusque and they don't talk to you much. Maybe that's a good thing. But there is usually already a jug of water at the table so you don't really need to ask them for anything.

Came here with some friends at night time and we all left satisfied! Taste: 5/5 stars! Everyone loved their dishes. I personally liked the pork. They let u adjust different ingredients as well! Parking: There's some street parking and plaza parking Service: You order through a qr code and they bring out the food quickly!

凉皮was the best dish by far. Spicy and soy saucy in the best way. Also very chewy IMO could have used vinegar but they have it on the tables The soup noodles were pretty standard flavor wise. The knife cut noodles had fantastic texture though

When the staff speak better Chinese you know it's good. I also appreciate the are English and Chinese menus; you can never tell exactly what it is from the English translation. I can say the noodles are definitely authentic. Some places they have knife cut noodles instead of knife shaved noodles so I was glad they actually had the shaved ones. The broth is flavorful, the meat as well and they didn't skimp out on it. This is the best chain for authentic Chinese noodles I know of. Service is good too. The staff let us know about allergen information, and was helpful when I called ahead. There's cool decorations like a noodle bowl model and cool logos inside, and plenty of seating.

This place has been on my list of places I wanted to try for a while now, and we finally got to try it recently. Overall it was pretty good! You order through your phone and service is pretty fast bringing the food. I got their classic Lanzhou hand pulled noodles with large wide noodles. The broth was very tasty and the noodles had good texture. I felt like the meat was just okay, but I was happy with everything else. It's also fairly small inside and can get busy/cramped, so keep that in mind if you go during busy times. I'd recommend stopping by!

    Anny O.

Beef noodle soup with Chinese pickled vegetables 3/5 - this was a bit bland. Broth didn't have much flavor but the beef was tender. I liked the noodles as well Next time I will get their dry noodles. I had a taste and it was really good

Got here at around 5 PM on a Tuesday night and it was relatively empty, left around 6:30 and if you came in then there still would be no wait time but it did start to get fuller. We tried the Mala Spicy Beef Noodle Soup and the Langzhou Handpulled Noodle Soup. The Mala one was ordered with the large flat noodles, which I would highly recommend as they absorb the flavor extremely well. I would recommend asking for a pair of scissors to cut them tho as their a longly connected strong of noodles. Mala flavor was definitely there as well. For the Langzhou Handpulled Noodle Soup, it wasn't as spicy as I would prefer but if you can increase the spice level with the provided chili oil on the table. I got the normal round noodles but I thought they were rather thin, and look to try the medium round noodles next time. There great thing about this place is that it's not crazy expensive, the food comes out in like 10 minutes, and their noodle quality is great! Just have to make sure to order the right things. A solid 4.2 stars for me!

That said, I would recommend avoiding peak/busy times. One of the dishes, soufflé, we ordered was essentially like a flat pancake during the rush, which was disappointing compared with the quality we expected. Although it indicated on the menu it will take around 30 minutes to make, yet that dish was the first one came after we ordered, less than 10 minutes later! More importantly, we made a reservation through Yelp for Labor Day weekend. However, when we arrived, we were told that the restaurant does not accept reservations during holidays. If that is the restaurant's policy, it should be clearly stated on Yelp and the reservation system should be restricted for those dates. It was frustrating to find this out only after arriving, especially when we already had guests with us. We were then given a shortened dining time, which made the experience even more stressful.

However, if customers are seated and allowed to order shortly before closing, they should be given a reasonable amount of time to finish their meal. Many restaurants allow customers at least 30 minutes after closing to finish eating when their orders are accepted that late. At the very least, the required departure time should have been clearly communicated before we ordered. I raised the issue with the manager, she was dismissive and showed little empathy. The onion and pickle smell and taste were just too strong that we could barely had any taste of the rice and the steak themselves. Basically, we felt like we were biting a whole white onion fresh from the grocery bag. We also ordered gyoza and chicken karaage, which I think they were frozen and reheated in microwave.
