I stopped by yesterday afternoon for the signature pan roast of course and was surprised at the added menu selections Sunset offers that Palace and Santa Fe do not offer. I haven't had the banana foster since Texas Station days and was excited to order. The banana foster was served in a decent sized bowl but lacked that dessert flavor. I was hoping for that sweet semi warm goodness, and I didn't get any of that. Glad I tried but once is more than enough. The charbroiled oysters were lackluster. I had higher expectations for the oysters, but they didn't have much flavor. I ordered spice level five for my pan roast and it didn't have any spice at all. The combo pan roast was okay but I do think Palace Station has a bit more flavor overall. Henderson is very convenient but I'd rather gamble with the lines at Palace for the price and flavor! My sister ordered the cioppino zero spice level and it was pretty salty. $133 before tip my cocktails were by far the best thing i consumed. read more

My first time having pan roast & it did not disappoint me. It was so YUMMY! Full of delicious flavor, a handful amount of seafood in every single bite, & warm fuzzy feels making me want more every bite. The oysters were perfect! The original Oyster Bar always has a ridiculous line so we opted to make the drive to Station Casino to this location. We initially came to the original location to see that the wait would be about 2 hours. Then deciding to drive the 17 minutes to this location and was immediately seated was a no brainer. This location has a whole restaurant, with table seating as well as bar seating. Although, there are some misses compared to the original, the no wait and nearly consistent food is 5 stars for me. Known for their pan roast which is absolutely delicious, but my preference is the Etouffee which was creamier. The combo chowder of clam and manhattan was amazing. I would get a whole tub of that. Service is still very friendly here. You kind of miss the allure of seeing the action of the pan roast as not all the seats are in line with the pots. The best linguine and clams I've had in the Las Vegas Valley. My favorite is still in San Diego but this was really good. There were fresh whole clams and fresh clam meat. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the broth and flavoring was amazing. I love how there's lemon in there. So tasty!! I was sopping up the broth with my bread! The shrimps were large, succulent and super fresh - right out of the sea. Hubby said his clam chowder was really good. Came here to celebrate my sister's birthday last night. There was a bit of a wait since we wanted a table which is no big deal. However, the waiter Lionel is extremely rude. While we were waiting he proceeds to walk through our conversation without saying excuse me, acknowledging us, or apologize for the wait (the chef had to come from behind the bar to greet us btw) so that he could seat the smaller party behind us at the bar. I brushed it off until he proceeds to do it again! I finally had enough and approached him about his rudeness. I was glad he wasn't our waiter because he would not have gotten a tip. I am not a seafood lover. That being said, once I tried chargrilled oysters in New Orleans I have sought them out everywhere. Charbroiled oysters here are a decent alternative. I ate 9 of the 12 we ordered. A little more breading than I like, because I love sopping up the butter and garlic with soft bread, but they were great. I would have eaten all 12. The seafood boil with crab was good. The potatoes were wonderful, corn slightly overcooked, but let's not forget those really good charbroiled oysters. The wait staff was lions and attentive. A couple weeks ago, my cousin wanted to check out the Oyster Bar at Sunset Station Casino for our weekly family dinner to see how it compares to the one at Red Rock Casino. The former is in my neighborhood and the latter is a short drive from my cousin's house in NW Las Vegas. When we first arrived at Sunset Station, it was somewhat difficult to find the Oyster Bar since the signage in the casino is not as thorough/updated to industry standards as the other properties that I usually frequent in the Las Vegas Valley. After walking around in despair for 10 minutes /s, we finally arrived at the restaurant and endured a short wait (maybe 5 minutes) before we were seated at the oyster bar. We were greeted shortly afterwards, and everything else went off without a hitch. The meal was solid, and the overall experience far exceeded my expectations. Specific things I liked about this Oyster Bar location: #1. It's much larger and more spacious than the Oyster Bar at Red Rock Casino. #2. During my visit, both the staff and clientele here were pretty diverse. #3. While a bit outdated, I actually liked the grotto setting for this Oyster Bar. It was super cozy and the waterfalls surrounding the restaurant drowned out all the background noise and chatter. So, we were able to fully enjoy our family meal and the vibes of our own little bubble. #4. We received great customer service from their entire team. I'm originally from the South, and I often have family & friends in town asking for recommendations for fish and seafood restaurants at a reasonable price point. Hubby and I were in the mood for the house roast. We were greeted right away and seated- the place was busy as it was dinner time. Our waitress was Greta and I missed her name. It is loud in there and we were seated by the fountain-but it worked for us. The ice tea is good. The house roast was delicious and hit the spot. The clam chowder was excellent and everything came out hot like we enjoy, however what would drive me to come back even more than the great clam chowder was the service. We had an excellent waiter, Tyler! He was amazing, very attentive, anticipated our needs before we would even ask, had many great suggestions, and was extremely friendly. I was really let down by the peeled Cajun shrimp here. It's usually my favorite dish at Palace Station, and that version is 1000x better. This one was watery, lacking in flavor and garlic, the shrimp didn't look very fresh, and the rice was unfortunately mushy. As you can see in my picture, the shrimps are swimming in water. You MUST eat here. Incredible. But first you have to read. In town for a lacrosse tournament and staying at Sunset Station. My family has heard of this magical Vegas place and the fun I've had here, but we've never done it together. So I went to Yelp. To find that classic Vegas restaurant like all the ones I've talked about. To show them that Vegas really DOES have amazing gems of restaurants unlike anyplace else. But we were off-Strip. And I found nothing but 3.8s or lower among the casino restaurants. What to do???? Oh yeah. Read. The negative reviews for this place are absurd. After a little convincing that the casino smell/smoke wouldn't affect us, my wife and I went to check this place out. And we were NOT disappointed. We got seated at the bar and were immediately blown away. Our server (RJ) brought us bread and a bottle of wine within 5 minutes, and we stopped looking at the menu because the chef (Adrian) was whipping out dish after dish right in front of us. After talking back and forth, he guided us toward the combo pan roast and the Bouillabaisse. I love my wife. More than anything. But she is the pickiest person I've ever met. And she agrees. As I bit into the freshest-tasting mussels I've ever had, the perfectly cooked shrimp, and the most perfectly flavor balanced seafood I've ever had, I kept my thoughts to myself. Because I'm usually wrong. But when I looked up, she looked at me and said, "This is the best food I've ever eaten." And we were sober. Seriously. Everything about this meal was incredible. We had planned on trying the Italian restaurant this evening only to find it closed for remodeling so we wound up back at the Oyster Bar. My gumbo was pretty good but I enjoyed the Combo Pan Roast I had last time a lot more. I guess the tomato base used it the other dish was better suited to my palate. I think I'll try the Jambalaya instead next time around. For me, the fresh sourdough bread was actually the highlight of tonight's meal. As usual, the service was excellent. The only glitch was that we only had 2 place settings even though we had a party of four. We had to get the attention of a passsing busboy to get the our other items so we could all enjoy our bread before the main course arrived. Other than that, everything was smooth sailing. I was surprised we were seated so quickly on a Saturday night. Especially considering the restaurant next door was closed. We were actually seated in less than 10 minutes. Much more quickly than our previous visit here. Sunset State is so convenient with decent restaurants, a food court, Regal movie theaters and a bowling alley all in one casino. You don't even need to leave unless you have certain restaurants in other parts of Vegas you want to hit. If it wasn't for the long trek from the casino to the rooms, this would be an ideal casino/hotel to stay at. Oyster Bar is always consistent with their food and service. This location differs slightly from the Palace Station location in that it has table seating and a larger bar. You will likely get seated right away. I've been here a few times and have never had to wait. We usually order their oysters. This time we got the gulf oysters - they were biggg boys lol meaty gulf oysters. I got etoufee and husband got the combo pan roast. Can not go wrong with any of their menu honestly. It is definitely a 2-dollar-sign typa place so be prepared as it is not cheap. However their quality is amazing and mirrors that of Palace Station. Another restaurant in Vegas that did not fail to impress me. Visiting from out of town and my friend tells me about this place that I've never heard of and that I need to try their Pan Roast. Not the fact that it's located in a casino but that it's in like this weird cave enclosure type of place with waterfalls running on the outside. It is very unique and I loved that a lot. We were seated pretty quick and though it took a while for the server to finally come greet us, she was excellent for the rest of the meal. She constantly came to the table to bring us water and bread and whatever else we needed. She was awesome . As for the food, it was nothing short of amazing. And that's coming from someone who generally doesn't eat stuff like seafood too often but holy shit, the Sunset Pan Roast was incredible. The family picked Oyster Bar for dinner because they wanted oysters. We got to the restaurant around 6pm and only the counter was available. The 3 of us put in our orders and the food took really really long (35 minutes)! I remember being on my phone looking through all the photos I took during the day and my food still didn't arrive. The hungry person in the group ate 2 of the complimentary rolls to hold them over. When our food arrived, everything was hot and smelled delicious. I had the cioppino which had lots of flavor and a generous amount of seafood (crab, cod, shrimp, clams, mussels). There was a bit of spice in the broth but I enjoyed it. Towards the end of my meal when I was trying to get the crab meat out, the shell was too hard to bite on. They ran out of crab crackers so I was eyeing when a staff would fill that container. Once I saw someone drop a handful of crab cracker in, I waved at someone and asked for one. I thought the prices were reasonable but I wasn't excited about the wait time for a table when you go in group and the time it took to prepare the food. When the 3 of us were done eating, the other half of the family just got their appetizers. If you are planning to dine with 4 or more people, I would suggest an early dinner or a late dinner; don't go between 5:30pm-7:30pm. We very rarely have to wait for seating and always have seats at the bar counter. I love watching them making customer orders and they're always friendly. But when we went it wasn't exceptionally busy so we got a table right away. There was the option to sit @ the bar but we opted for a high top instead. I had a bowl of the Cioppino with no rice. It was served nice and hot with lots of garlic in a tasty tomato base. It had clams, crab legs, jumbo shrimp and pieces of white fish in it. My friend ordered the gumbo which you can customize to your spice level preference on a scale of 1-10. She doesn't care for spice at all so she ordered a 1 and she said it was very mild. It was a generous portion and she took 1/2 home. Our server was very busy but attentive and polite. He kept the refills on our drinks coming. We never even had to ask. The servers here also have great customer service and are very friendly. I order the combo pan roast which consists of shrimp, pieces of crab, and pieces of lobster in a creamy tomato stew type of sauce. Simply delicious! They serve it with a scoop of steamed white rice and also offer it at different heat levels. They serve most seafood dishes from crab legs oysters, clam chowder, etc... But, if you have someone who is allergic to seafood or shellfish, only dishes they serve are cesar salad and chicken gumbo. The Oyster Bar will allow you to bring food from their neighboring restaurants for those allergic which I thought was an awesome thing.
