I ordered the holiday dinner special. It comes with either soup or salad, turkey plate & a pumpkin pie. The plate comes with candied yams, vegetables, corn on the cobb, mashed potatoes. slices of turkey, cranberry sauce, dinner roll & stuffings smothered with gravy. I was too full to eat the pumpkin pie. I told my waitress to eat the pie for me because I'm stuffed. My waitress is so nice & friendly. This place has been around for 60 years. Ozzie's has to be one of the greatest diners you can ever. Everyone makes you feel welcome. This is including the staff and the people that are eating there. People actually speak to one another and greet one another . The menu is excellent and everything is made fresh. Ozzie recently changed their soup menu. Please bring back the Albondiga soup! My sister introduced me to this lovely diner. I had always wanted to come check it out and wish would done it sooner. The services here is like family. Mostly American food but they also a nice Mexican food section. The menudo is really good here. This time I came with my mom. My mom had grilled chicken plate that came with salad and fruits. I had egg whites, bacon, hash brown, and pancakes. We are always satisfied when we come here. The food is always on point. On the weekends it gets packed so come early if you don't want to wait in line. Also in weekdays you can enjoy their bar that is next door to the restaurant. BEWARE! A 4% extra charge is automatically added to the total bill at the cashier for every customer paying with any type of card--without prior notice! This is extremely shady and, in many cases, illegal. The restrooms were absolutely disgusting, smelling like a gas station restroom that hasn't been cleaned in weeks. For the business owner: If your current POS system is too expensive, perhaps you should find a different provider--many charge only 1.5%. It's highly unprofessional and offensive to pass that cost onto your customers at checkout without transparency. You and your business is responsible for that expense whatever % they charge you. BTW, businesses that strongly "prefer" cash often do so to hide money from the IRS--no wonder the roads and infrastructure look the way they do in LA county. But why would anyone care, right? Also, $3.99+tax for soda water? That's outrageous. Because of how you run your business and treat your guests, our large party left a smaller tip than we normally would have. Your greedy attitude is ultimately robbing your employees, but it seems like you don't care. 0 stars!!! Delicious! Today was my first time trying Ozzie's. I had the French toast and I loved it. It had the perfect amount of cinnamon, butter and syrup. The combo included sausage, bacon and eggs. Great atmosphere and tradition for the area. The service and hostess are always welcoming and great energetically. But when it comes to food, it's very generic. Not bad.. but i guess its because i like to customize my dishes, my orders are looked at as "too much" and chefs don't pay attention to my requests. I want to give them 5 stars, even 10 stars but I need to settle on 4 and I'll tell you why for my range of ratings- First, I'd give them 10 stars for the kindness and help they give me and my family almost on a weekly basis when we go for breakfast after mass on Sundays, eh uh we have been doing now for over two years. We've become regulars because of it and because we enjoy the good hearty food and the wonderful wait staff, especially Lalo and Danny. My mom suffers from advancing dementia and has limited mobility and every time we arrive, they take it upon themselves to give us the best experience, so much so that my mom will ask to go where "le dan mucho cafe!" (they give her lots of coffee!!). Now, the reason for the 4 stars is the huge disappointment that new management has decided it is a smart decision to remove the most popular and beloved food item from the menu-- LALO's MENUDO!!! I'd strongly urge the new owners to redirect their budget, possibly increase the cost for the menudo slightly because yes, beef prices have skyrocketed (tariffs), and continue to give your customers what they want instead of spending the money on irreverent candles on the tables! Nobody needs more clutter on their table. Also, have the foresight to think that you're LOSING CUSTOMERS!! And all the decorations in the walls or candles on the tables will not bring them back. So, it's my great hope the new owners reconsider this decision, revisit their budget, and though it may be a cost the restaurant will need to absorb at this time, it will be a temporary one but will certainly continue to pay dividends in the future to sustain your business and its wonderful (and longtime) employees. People are willing to pay for something they enjoy. But they will not forgive you for taking it away. read more

I went to eat there the other day at the Ozzie's dinner and I got a rude waitress her name was evelyn she wasn't taking care of us n taking too long for our order n we would ask for something she would make a face we had to b asking other waiters for drinks or other stuff she would b with a smile and her name was Elizabeth. She had a good attitude if I go back there to eat if I get that same waitress Evelyn I would walk away I didn't like her service and attitude and she was asking for tip cash not to add it at the bills that wasn't cool read more

Oh my lord where do I start... First of all I am a manager of a business that pertains to food and alcohol and I've been in the customer service and fine dining for probably 20 plus years let me start with that... I very rarely get days to enjoy to myself so when I go out I expect the best quality of service especially because of the field I'm in You probably wouldn't know it from looking at me but I know my restaurants and I know customer service. When I walked in on Monday I was greeted with a stare down from two women that were I'm assuming your expos. A blonde older woman and an older woman with dark hair and tattoos just stared me up and down like I didn't belong there. It took them a good 30 seconds to even figure out where they wanted to put us There were so many chairs open in that specific section (because I know sometimes if you don't have enough waitresses they won't sit you in certain sections) But they chose to sit me right next to the door. I asked politely if I can go into the bar area and sit because I always go in there and that's pretty much why I went there because I wanted to enjoy a nice bloody Mary on my day off. I saw no signs upon entry I saw no signs on the bar door but yet they told me I was not allowed to go in the bar because there was a party going on. I don't know if there were 80-year-olds or 100-year-olds in that bar but I didn't hear music I didn't hear a TV I didn't hear laughter I didn't hear voices I saw a couple people in the bar but there was nothing like a party going on. I was disappointed but I was hungry so I sat down. Took a good 5 minutes for somebody to even come over and offer me some water so that was fun... When I asked if I can get a bloody Mary out in the cafe the guy said No no no you cannot , we can't do that . I said what do you mean you can't do that and he said the bar is closed You can't order drinks out here... I was so shocked because what do you mean a bartender can't make my drink and you pick it up But I digress. After about 10 to 15 minutes of sitting there finally the blonde older lady told the other older lady to take table 1 which I knew was me... Finally got my order taken in at my food came out I've had better but it wasn't horrible A little burned and lack of salt but I ate it because I was hungry. I also left a decent tip because I'm not an a-hole.... While I'm sure these women have been working there for like 30 years and you get comfortable where you're at and you think you own the place it's nice to greet your customers with a smile especially when it says that you serve that with your food on the menu....eye roll ... I guess a smile wasn't on the menu for me that day nor was a bloody Mary.... As a manager my biggest suggestion to you is signs! If you're having a private party please put that on the front door because if I had seen we are having a large party in the bar and not serving alcohol to any patrons today during this to this hour I would have turned my butt around and went somewhere else But since I drove 20 minutes to get there I mean I wasn't just going to turn around and leave.... Not a good look for you Ozzie's and my first experience there wasn't very good either I don't know why I went back I guess I like to give people second chances now I learned my lesson. read more

A relaxing chill Friday called for a morning breakfast to start my day. Found myself back to add another dish to my visit. This time, I went with the corn beef hash and eggs. As always, service was consistent, fast, and friendly. My coffee cup was filled, and my server Michelle checked in several times, asking if all was good. Good service is always appreciated and is a huge factor when deciding to return. Michelle provided that service. As for the food, I love a home cooked meal, and Ozzies does provide that feel. My son was playing baseball at Veterans Memorial Park. During a break from the tournament, we went to grab a bite. It's a typical diner. In fact, it reminded me of a movie set. I was very surprised by the food. I had a veggie omelette that was really good. Veggies were good and not over cooked. Breakfast potatoes were also really tasty. There is a bar accessible through the restaurant, but wasn't here for that. Menu has an abundant amount of choices. In fact, it is 7 pages. Cool local diner. We go for the Breakfast as they offer classic Mexican/American food. I like their fried eggs with Ham steak or eggs/chorizo. Refried beans are good and those hash browns-you can't go wrong Delicious! The staff there are mostly friendly and they move quick to get your order ready. Low wait times here which make it easy when you're hungry. I can't remember but some nights they close early so be sure to check hours before driving over. 10/7/2024 8:24am I walked in to a not very busy restaurant and fell in love with the long counter seating area so many years have passed since I've sat at a diner counter the menu was big and well put together the man who asked if I wanted a beverage was pleasant everything was looking like it was going to be a great experience, then the waitress who was dressed in red and wearing more gold jewelry then Mr.t walked up to me and started yawning as she took my order. No hello no good morning just very dismissive so much so that it would be hard to come back if she was my only choice of server. She treated me like a regular who doesn't tip . Food just arrived the hash browns are greasy and look more like hash whites than hash browns. Too bad it was a huge let down I really wanted to have a regular place to go in the morning . Zero star review if possible!!! So as we are driving by my son told me F that place.... He said one time my daughter's boyfriend ( who has Down syndrome) really needed to used the restroom... Saturday morning - 11/18/23 A few good things, the food was ok, good portions, but food needs a bit of seasoning, attention to the client was good as well. Things that they need to work on, understaffed, need more servers, coffee tasted like watered down, the bags of coffee were too small for the whole pitcher, or need to purchase a stronger version.
