Prices are ridiculously high for what you get. I ordered $78 worth of food and got half a plate of each entree, the to go container isn't even filled half way. For $78 dollars i should've had enough to feed 3 kids and 2 adults, it was barely enough, my toddlers were still hungry. Save your money go to panda express. I love P.F. Changes BUT first time at this location. We made reservations and got here on hour early checked in they said they would get us in when they could, but when I asked for an update from the girl up front 45 mins later she said they will try to get us in at our reservation time. That kind of sucks to tell me that I have to wait the whole hour to be seated. I understand it's busy but at least I had reservation. I asked for the restaurant manager and it turned out the girl I spoke to be the restaurant manager, Bree says she is the general manager, she told me I would wait till our reservation time. Not a managerial way to say wait your turn. I hope upper management reads this so they can help her with management skills on how to respond to , Fredrick at the bar area was very sympathetic, the restaurant manager didn't seem like she had any care at all about any customers. I hate to give 1 star but here is a contrast between the Restaurant manager and our server Chanel. Manager Bree says "we will get you in at your reservation time" server chenel says " sorry, we are so slammed, sorry for the wait" So much easier and better and defused any frustration I may have. In the past, I have always been pleased with the food we have eaten here. On our latest visit, though, the food was not as good. The place was packed. Fortunately, we only had to wait about 15 minutes for a table. The decor and ambiance was nice and comfortable. The service was okay, but could have been much better. The only thing I liked about this whole experience was the Mongolian beef I ordered. We had dinner on a Tuesday night it wasn't packed but it was enough people to keep the servers "busy" We've been to other PF changs but this place is just bad all the way around. We always go for the appetizers, such as the Asian BBQ ribs ( a must ), pork potstickers, and this time we got the tempura roll. EVERYTHING was amazing, including the entrees. The orange chicken honestly tasted and looked akin to a microwaveable Lean Cuisine entree. It was slimy and not the slightest bit crispy, and the citrus in the sauce was unbalanced and overwhelming. The cherry on top was that there was a long blonde hair in my food. So I ended up jus asking for another entree and taking it home cuz they took another 15 minutes or so and I didn't even get to enjoy my food at the restaurant. Then we ordered the main course. My main course came out and my partners did not. Finally half her course came without the rice. Our waiter made excuses that they were all out of white rice and they were making more. Everything went downhill from there. My meal required a steak knife, I was given a dirty butter knife. We couldn't of sunken much lower but my parter was given burnt, overcooked rice. We finally found our absentee waiter and asked for a manager. She made some excuses but no attempt to make things right. At the end of the evening we paid a $100+ bill for subpar service and bad food. It was bad enough that I had to spend my birthday in Bakersfield, it is worse that your establishment made it even worse. read more

We always come here for date nights and we love the food. But every time the service is not good. Even if the place isn't very full, our waiters are always extremely inattentive. We've ended up having to share drinks because we can never get a refill and then sit around for ever waiting for the check. The online menu on the website shows so much food variety. Not much of a variety when we arrive and looked at their menu and food was average. So again waited for the waitress to deliver that, but not until we seen her take out another food order. PF Chang's is ok if you don't mind paying for small portions and cold white rice. The server and hostess did their jobs well. My problem was getting served cold dry white rice. It tasted like a microwave dinner that dried out one part while leaving the other cold. The PF Chang's I buy in the Super Market tasted better than my $18 dish so that begs the question "Why not buy a frozen entree and make my own fresh hot moist rice and save the money"? A safe "Asian food" selection for Bakersfield. The ambience and decor are very hip. Not really super authentic -- but they get points for location and that they stay open until 10 on Sundays. We usually stop here on the way home from the Bay Area. We take Stockdale Highway from the 5 to the 99/58. Food is mixed. I still don't get what you're supposed do with the sauce they mix to your specifications at the table. It's not like they give you fried wontons or anything to dip. We always get the potstickers and the lettuce cups. Can't miss with those. We change our entree everytime. Last time the Shanghai noodles were a bust -- hubby hates fish sauce. Moo shu pork was pretty good. I love asparagus. They do it up kind of kung pao flavor. About half the time the order that we get has too many woody pieces in it. At least that's not toooo expensive, but come on: get rid of the woody stuff. That's asparagus 101. You have to ask for rice. That's not cool.
