What does the PF stand for, People Forgetting. Forgetting to properly acknowledge guests. Forgetting to make someone celebrating a birthday feel special . Forgetting to try hard to provide timely service. Forgetting to apologize when obviously under-delivering. I made a reservation for us for dinner to celebrate my wife's 50th birthday. In the reservation I mentioned it was a birthday occasion. My wife even wore a tiara with a "50" on it. How does your staff / team respond? They basically ignored her. Service was beyond slow and when he asked if it was her birthday and she said yes, he basically said in a plan voice, happy birthday. Nothing else. Did not make any deal of it and made no effort to make it a special meal. If not a pandemic, I would not have given him the 10% tip I did. He would have gotten ZERO which is what it made us all feel like. We wont be coming back to this or another PF Changes for a VERY LONG TIME. Given my chinese background, I'm really not supposed to go to restaurants like PF Changs. We like our food good and cheap with no frills, which is not what this restaurant is about. What PF Changs is about is upscale chinese-style food in really stylish surroundings. Which was perfect today for a team lunch. After dropping our car off at the valet station, our group hustled into the restaurant. The place was pretty much jammed with a bit of a wait, thank you for reservations! Inside we're talking dark woods, granite with a long bar in the back. Very nice spot for a business lunch or date, nearly too nice for everyday eatin' imho. The waitstaff is all decked out in black and pretty darn cute. We started off with ubiquitous lettuce wraps which is seasoned, minced chicken with water chestnut eaten in some iceberg lettuce. Deelishous and vaguely healthy! We also ordered the Sichuan scallops, orange peel chicken and kung pao chicken. Everything was tasty and fresh in good portions. I was a bit disappointed in the garlic noodles but no major complaints. We're not talking authentic chinese food, we're talking frou-frou here... Overall it's a nice little spot for a civilized meal in nice surroundings. If you have a grungy, hole-in-the-wall favorite chinese place, PF Changs is probably not for you. But for a every now and then visit, I'd say it's worth the extra money to check it out once in a while. read more

It's been a long time (years) since we've been here. So long that I'd forgotten just how crowded, loud and chaotic it can be. Certainly didn't expect it on a Sunday evening for some reason, but did know enough that we needed reservations. Thankfully those reservations were promptly honored. Food was decent. Husband and I decided to share the crab wonton appetizer, plus two of the items off the fall seasonal menu: (and I quote) HARVEST VEGETABLE QUINOA "FRIED RICE" * Wok-toasted red quinoa with spiced butternut squash, Brussels sprouts, wok-charred corn, snap peas, carrots, zucchini and diced green apples, topped with a sunny-side egg 11.95 VIETNAMESE NOODLES WITH STEAK & SHRIMP This Pho-inspired dish blends the bright flavors of hoisin, sriracha, cinnamon and coriander with rice noodles, marinated shrimp and flank steak, wok-tossed with Chinese broccoli, carrots and bean sprouts, topped with fresh cilantro 12.95 Our friends chose to do the dinner for two. They started with the chicken lettuce wraps, followed by a big bowl of wonton soup which was enough for the four of us to share. One of them got the almond chicken, and the other decided to go with the sea bass (despite the $8.95 upcharge). The appetizers were both well liked. The soup was good. Our Vietnamese dish was pretty good. It was very lightly seasoned. Any broccoli that was in it was of the thin stalk slices nature. (don't expect florets). I never saw any bean sprouts. The steak was very thin strips, and the shrimp were medium and any marination was not strong enough to tell. Definitely the most flavorful of the two dishes though. The quinoa was sadly lacking in flavor. Didn't detect any apples, brussels sprouts or corn. Mostly butternut squash that was missing the "spiced" part of the description. Lots and lots of quinoa. (sorry, didn't get a pic, as it was the last dish to arrive and we just dug in). One of those dishes that one spoonful is okay, but you sure won't want a giant bowl of it. Dessert was a shared tiramisu for our friends, a giant slab of New York style cheesecake for Husband, and a Key Lime Martini for moi. While all were decent, don't they seem a bit out of place for this style of restaurant? Bit of an identity crisis perhaps? My Martini, by the way, tasted really good at the first sip, but as it went on the key lime flavor seemed to dissipate. I don't remember the menu mentioning anything other than vanilla vodka and key lime juice with a graham cracker crumb crust, but the drink was heavy with cream. And while the crust sounded good, it really should have been mixed with sugar for texture. The crumbs were mushy. Service would have probably ticked us off had we not been playing catch-up with very dear friends who we hadn't seen in awhile. We waited quite awhile to place our order. It took especially long to get anything from the bar. This is not the place to go if you're in a hurry, which we were fortunately not. Finally, our Server was kind enough to box up our leftovers, but then he put them all in one bag. (uh, we're two couples). When he noticed me looking at him funny, he asked if we wanted two bags...uh, yes please. He placed the bags next to the Husbands. When we got home we realized we had our friends' leftovers. Lettuce was wet (I had to dab them with tissue paper), lacks salt/seasoning, and if not for the spicy sauce, it would have been a fail. Ginger chicken with broccoli was good, cuts of the chicken prohibits the meat from absorbing the sauce (that's why authentic Chinese cooking cuts their stir fried meat a certain way). Sautéed eggplant was good, sweet and very spicy. Singapore street noodle (my first so I have no comparison) was interesting; super hot, tangy, with a hint of curry. Not my favorite. If you're looking for authentic Chinese this is not the place. They do have a variety of gluten-free options, however, which is heaven for people with gluten intolerance compared to Chinese takeouts. read more

Came here for lunch today. Not busy upon arrival, around 11am (Friday) immediately was sat by the host. Drinks were quick to come out but 1 was forgotten and not delivered until later in the meal. First time they brought out the chicken lettuce wraps, after making my first one, I noticed a gnat on the leaf. I know this happens every now and then and they were accommodating to take the next one brought out off of the bill. Service was a little slow and there was an annoying fly that wouldn't stop buzzing around the table the whole time. Shrimp lo mein was just average. A little on the greasy side in my opinion. 10 of us came to dine at the PF Chang's tonight to celebrate our friend's Birthday. We come here a lot since we enjoy the food, and it was chosen specifically to spend a birthday. Our food was delicious as usual. When we were ready to pay for our bill our waitress Kay brought out a few handheld devices that each one of us had to use to pay our bills. We all thought these machines were very un-user friendly with IT glitches in its software making it hard and time consuming to pay for our bills. It seemed to take forever for us all to pay our bills. We are all intelligent people, three in our group were executives, two worked at IBM. This shouldn't have been that difficult. Eventually we all paid for our meals and tipped our waitress nicely. Unfortunately, one by one we started to notice our email totals weren't coming out correctly. The amounts were being posted too high. Someone decided to ask Kay why the discrepancy? She proceeded to tell him that she charged our table an automatic tip for the large party which I totally understand BUT she did this AFTER we all had paid and tipped her already! Not once did she mention it to us before we tipped her nor was it posted on our bill in the machine. She told him that we should have known about this charge since they post it in the menu! So it was OUR fault for not noticing this or reading the fine print. Anyone see the latest movie "Wonka?" Did we just get swindled out of tipping our waitress twice for NOT reading the fine print? Imagine 10 customers all tipping Kay twice for our meals. Thats a pretty hefty take home for her. PF Changs is not just a mom and pop diner. They have over 200 restaurants world wide. They can develop handheld machines that have the ability to implement the automatic tip on the screen for each customer prior to tipping and paying their bills but their machines do not do this. Our machines defaulted to give Kay a 22% tip. There was no mention on the machine there was an extra tip or there was any automatic tip being added. That would tell me that there isn't an automatic tip involved or does PFChangs want or expect us to pay Kay the automatic 20% large party tip and the default 22% tip totaling a 42% tip to Kay for our meals? Who's at fault? The machines? The wait staff? Or a billion dollar business responsible for developing the handheld machines? Hmm let me think. We could have and probably should have discussed this with a manager but the bottom line is as far as Kay felt and she's representing PF Chang's it was OUR fault for not reading the fine print. Did we just get "Wonka'd?" I don't know about you but I'm lucky to be able to read the menus in the dim restaurant lighting which I actually did have to pull out my phone and use the flashlight feature to read the menu better. Plus, if we each had been given a separate paper bill to pay for our meal, the added large party automatic 20% tip would have been included on the bill for us to notice and be aware of before adding our own tip. I totally agree to charge large groups a one time automatic tip. It's only fair for the wait staff. We enjoyed being able to have our table of 10 have a reservation here but that's not the problem. I don't believe this restaurant should have the ability to add to our bills after we have seen the total and paid with our credit cards. The automatic tip should be mentioned by the waitstaff and on the screen in the machines so we can see this prior to tipping or paying, or just don't have the default tip scale pop up on the screen but have it say we have already been automatically charged 20% but if we'd like to add to that tip we are more than welcome. So if you happen to eat here and have to pay on their handheld machines, be aware of tricky add ons after you have paid your bill. If they are allowed to add this tip after we have already tipped and paid for our dinner what we thought was our total bill (that I believe should be illegal), then who knows what else they might be able add to your bill later! There's a good chance you might not ever notice or think you ever needed to check. Shame on PF Chang's oh wait,I meant "Wonka." I also want to add to this post that it has come to my attention that Kay charged the "20% standard tip for parties over 10" off of my total bill that included my original tip and tax. Kay didn't charge P.F. Chang's 20% tip on just my meal. She got even more money out of me and my friends. Kay walked away tonight making approx a 45% tip off my meal plus 9 others in my group for a total of 10 once loyal customers. What a way to celebrate my friend's Birthday. read more

Unnecessary crap on top of every entrée such as inedible chilies and too much peanuts. I really wanted to like it, I really did. $5 lemonade with all ice. It really says something when you give so much ice in a lemonade but barely any in a water. At this point just go to your local Chinese restaurant you'll get better food for your buck. I think P.F. Food service was fast and they even made the table into a romantic atmosphere. Service was kind of bad. First time back in a long time. We had a reservation for 4:30p didn't sit until 4:55pm so we can sit away from the door cause of the cold air. Also the restaurant wasn't even packed. Then when we sat down we waited like another 15mins to 20mins for waiter. Then another 15mins for my glass of water. While we was sitting we noticed our plates were dirty. Then notice why they are dirty because the person cleaning the tables is barely even cleaning tables no spray just knocks food on floor guess cause he had nothing to put it in but barely swept the section he did it at. Then putting clean plates on the tables with the same dirty gloves he cleaning the tables with. Then our appetizer finally comes out but we got no plates and utensils. Then waited like 10mins for new plates and something to eat with. Then when we get the entree we thought was going to be family style proportions it was just enough for one person. In past they use to give a lot more food. The dinner for two use to come with appetizer/soup, two entrees and a desert for like $40 plus tax. I paid $40 for one app and one entree and left hungry with poor service and still tipped. ;/ If you go here ask for a new plate. I can say I will not be coming back no more and will stick with my local Chinese spot Ni Asían. read more

This was my first time visiting PF Chang's and it was the worse experience I've had in along time and a dining place. The customer service was subpar! My waitress came to check on our table once. We had to grab another waitress to refill our drinks for us. I got my food (I ordered bulgogi steak with fried rice) I asked that my steak be cooked medium well and not only did it come Out medium rare once but I it came out twice the same way, and then I had to wait foR the fried rice for an additional 15 after waiting for my entree to be prepared correctly the third time. I will not be coming back to this establishment. If I could've rated it a zero I would have. Save your money and go somewhere else this place is definitely over rated!!!!!!! PF Chang's is probably one of my favorite restaurants. I am not usually a huge fan of chains, but I truly like their food. I have been eating there for so many years that my favorites throughout the years have actually been taken off the menu (Spicy Ground Chicken and Eggplant and Double Pan Fried Noodles). Luckily these recipes are still on file, so I can still order these wonderful dishes whenever I visit any PF Chang's location. The menu is HUGE and has numerous offerings for any diet. They offer lunch combos that won't break the bank and awesome meal and dessert options throughout the day. They also have a number of tasty appetizers including their lettuce wraps (available in chicken or vegetarian). They also offer a nice Happy Hour special where a number of starters and small plates are discounted. PF Chang's is able to handle a variety of party sizes in case you want to do a work outing or just grab a drink and appetizer at the bar. We stayed at a hotel and ordered a delivery from P.F. Chang's. The food was pretty awful. We have eaten at other restaurants in the franchise in other cities without a problem, so we were very surprised. For a chain of generic Chinese food this place is pretty good. In North Carolina it's hard to get quality Chinese food where it doesn't look like the place is falling apart. We had the sweet and sour soup as an app. This is always very hot and amazing. It has tofu in it so if you are not a fan I would recommend you not to get this. For our main entree we had the Chang's spicy chicken and the staple of sesame chicken. Both came out hot and each is served with white or brown rice. Service was quick, the did mess up the order but were quickly to correct it. Also make sure you sign up for the rewards as they are always doing buy one entree get one free! read more

In Chicken Fried Rice, Brown Rice was not cooked at all, I can feel raw grain from rice and Worst part is Pad Thai has too many peanuts and Chicken had no flavor and not cooked well. we had to thrown away entire food we took. I so want to find a P.F. Chang's that I can give five stars to. Maybe it'll be the next one. Once again I ordered the Chang's Spicy Chicken, this stuff never gets old. It's a great tasting entree but this time I did something different. I ordered it to go. I was staying in town and decided this is where I'd go. As normal the food was delicious however it was lukewarm and on the verge of cold. I was only staying 1/2 mile away so it shouldn't have been cool that quick. The rice container was only 1/2 to 3/4 full. For $17 I really do expect hot food and full container of rice. This won't stop me from eating at Chang's but I sure would like to have one that could reach 5 star status. read more
