I am so sad.... used to LOVE PF Changs, but I guess that time is over. I was so excited to be in Sarasota and specifically told my husband - let's go to PF Changs tonight.... my mistake. We showed up, put our name in for a table and went to the bar. The bar was disgusting - covered in dirty dishes and leftover food on the counters. The bartender finally came over and half-way wiped the counter off. As guests around us dined and left, the dirty dishes just sat there - no one coming to pick up or clean off. The menus had leftover food on them. We ordered a drink and app and waited... and waited.... and waited......When we finally got our app, it was delicious. After 45 minutes of waiting our entrees were served. My husband's was excellent, mine was floating in sauce. I hate to complain or send any dish back, but I was starving and knew that I couldn't digest the "soup", so I apologized to the bartender and asked for a different dish. The whole time this is going on the bar area is still covered with leftover dishes and food..... ugh..... Sorry, we will never be back to this location. read more

Their hokkien street noodles are unlike any I've had anywhere else, and not in a good way. I just ordered some to go and they taste like vinegar. If I had ordered them in the restaurant, I would send them back to the kitchen. Unfortunately I'm back home and it's too far to go back. Street noodles are supposed to have a curry flavor, and they are even describe that way in their own menu. Not even close! They taste more like someone poured vinegary salad dressing over them. I'm 67 years old and never tried a PF Chang's until tonight. I'm so sorry I did. I lived in NYC, specifically Flushing, a neighborhood that has become a Chinese restaurant Mecca. That said, I've spent my entire life eating at modest, American style Chinese restaurants in both cities and rural areas. I think I qualify as pretty knowledgeable. For the last four years, I've lived in small town, far upstate New York, and have had to make do with a decent, classic Chinese American style takeout, and I've been pretty satisfied, which reflects my modest needs when it comes to Chinese food. We are staying on Longboat Key, outside Sarasota and have eaten out or taken in, almost every night. I had a craving for Chinese tonight so Googled what was around. Rather than try a random, locally owned place, I decided to sample the famous chain, even though the bill was about twice what a local place would cost. I thought the extra money was buying me a guarantee of quality. Boy was I wrong. The hot and sour soup was the worst I've ever eaten, and I've eaten a lot of it in fifty years. That it cost three times what a local charges was not the problem; that it was virtually inedible, overly salty and vinegary with almost no stuff in it. The stuff I get at home included free with a combo meal is about twenty times better. I spilled out about three quarters of the container. Be warned, the photos on line are completely misleading, both as to portion size and contents. Their variation on bang-bang shrimp was really hiding just little bits of shrimp, not whole ones. The special lo mein was anything but. I recall my first lo mein 53 years ago in a Chinatown joint for $1.30 which was infinitely better. I paid extra for fried rice to accompany the chicken and broccoli dish we had; big mistake. It was beyond forgettable with almost nothing in it. I thought paying twice the price would get me a minimum standard. WRONG! Avoid this place like the plague. read more

We have been going to PF Chang's for years and usually find the food better than most, However this last visit was a disappointment. We got carry out and once we were home found the food was sub par. The beef was tough and chewy lacking many vegetables, and the egg rolls were horrible. We hope this was a one time fluke but like many restaurants lately, the food is going downhill fast. read more

Came her while visiting Sarasota. We love P.F. Chang's. However, this location is sub par for the chain. We sat at the bar. People would leave and the dishes would sit for 15-20 minutes. I had to ask the bartender for a wet towel to clean off the bar where my wife and I were sitting. This is all a reflection on the poor management team. read more

So sad.. we used to love PF Chang's. I chose to dine here last night for my birthday with my family of 6. We had a 7pm reservation and were not seated till 7:45. The bar wasn't busy at all, but two of the bar tenders would not even acknowledge that we were standing there waiting for drinks. We got a seat at the bar and after quite some time we were finally waited on. Our experience went down hill from there. Our waitress was extremely scatterer brained and even admitted to being "a mess". She seemed extremely inconvenienced we asked for a special menu. All appetizers arrived with the exception of my dumplings which came 30 minutes after everyone else finished theirs. Finally after about another 45 minutes our food arrived. The "Filet" was tough and chewy and the lobster that was bought out was completely raw inside. Spicy chicken was what appeared to be more like a lunch size portion. Unfortunately a manager never stopped by to see how our meal or service was. Clearly he kn how long we waited for our birthday table and meal because he was observing from afar. Very disappointed PF Chang's. Unless you step up your game you've lost not one, but several customers. And PF Chang's asked me to contact them which I did several days ago.. not a word back 2/27/19 still not a word from PF Chang's!! Awful read more

We came here for my birthday and they were very kind to allow me to bring a vegan cake to celebrate. However, my family members were served raw chicken. We were given our appetizers rather quickly but it took an hour to get our main dishes, one of them being undercooked chicken! Unfortunately, one of my family members got very sick from the dish. Not a fan of ASIAN fusion. Went here last night on a whim. Service was excruciating slow. Server obviously knew it and apologized several times. Can't blame him if kitchen can't keep up. Wife had lo mein. I had Mongolian beef which was quite tasty. What was unforgivable was the day old rice. Scraped from bottom of the pot. I wanted to ask for fresh rice but knew that would take forever. We sat a long time to get food and check. The Sarasota location has the absolute worst parking set up and even lower customer service. It's a shame to survive in today's world you have got to remember your customer and insist on stellar customer service from beginning to end on any dining experience. I need to change my review. I absolutely loved coming to P.F Chang's and now I will never be back. We sat down at a dirty table in the bar area of first come first serve and waited patiently and it took some time for someone to come clean it . When the bar tender came to clean it he seemed super angery that we even sat down there trying to rush to clean everything he ended up dropping it all. We then had a women bartender help us with taking our drink and food order super friendly and very nice. It took way longer then normal to receive our appetizer and then double long to receive our food. I always get the Mongolian beef and it's usually fantastic well today it was so tough and so much smaller then normal. Also the super friendly waitress we had never came back after the food came and I wasn't able to order another glass of wine which was super disappointing. I'm very disappointed in the entire experience and won't be back anytime soon if not ever!! So the manager wrote his response asked me to email Him which I did . And he ever got back to me. The waiter was nice but in the weeds. 40 minutes passed after ordering and nothing ... crickets nada .. called another waiter over who said yes we have a new kitchen crew and they are behind sorry ... Manager then came over and food appeared. He apologized and that's it . Food was ok heavy on salt and not really the best , past visits here in prior years has been better . The fort Meyers PF Chang's is an excellent restaurant. The Sarasota PF Chang's is terrible. There's a big difference between the taste and quality of food. I found the PF Chang's in Sarasota to be dirty and they did not do a good job disinfecting anything. I live around the corner from PF Changs and have never had a GREAT meal there, but it's convenient and I like the atmosphere and menu, but the food has always been sub-par. Tonite I went out to dinner for the first time since covid and was utterly disappointed from the minute I walked up to give them the name on my reservation. We were told it would be a few minutes so we waited. Finally the hostess came over and said she could seat us at a high top in the bar. Not ideal but we were hungry and agreed. The waitress came over and told us we would need to order using the QR code which, for us boomers was not easy. Who wants to scroll thru an app when we could simply look at a menu? We ordered our food; 3 appetizers and an entree. 10 mins later a party of 3 sat down next to us. They ordered from our same waitress, and their drinks were delivered, and we sat and waited for ours. Next, their appetizers arrived as we again sat and waited for ours. After about 15 minutes their entrees arrived and we still had not gotten our appetizers! Now I was getting mad. The waitress stopped by to ask if everything was ok and I said "No, we're hungry." She said our order would be right out. Another 20 mins passed and I asked to speak to the manager. As we waited for the manager, our appetizers finally arrived. They were terrible! The dumplings were rubbery and hard to chew, the sushi was mushy and the tuna did not taste fresh. No soy sauce so I waited for that! I had ordered the brisket and it was tough and there was no knife. When the manager arrived I let him know how unhappy we were w/ the poor service and disappointing food. He said he'd take the appetizers off the bill. But by then we were so upset with the entire situation I vowed I would never go back. To add insult to injury, the bill had to be paid using the QR code again, which means the customer does all the work of typing in their credit card info, name, email etc. To sum it up this restaurant isn't worth your time or money. It's 12:30 pm on Tuesday, and I valet my car and walk into the restaurant. It's half full... Not busy at all! The young hostess greets me and I tell her, "table for one". She asks,"can I sit at the bar"? I say,"no, you have plenty of open tables I would prefer to sit at a table". She said,"they don't have enough wait staff". So I turned around and walked back out. I explained what happened to the valet, that had just parked my Lexus. The valet shook his head and could not believe it. From my car, while driving (love blue tooth), I called the manager who confirmed they were not full and invited me back. By then I had driven down the street to a new restaurant called,"Square 21" and had a delicious hamburger, onion rings, and Cobb salad- yum! Thats what happened.... The decor is nice, the service was good. the food was not... The shrimp fried rice was horrible. The rice was severely undercooked. It was like eating uncooked popcorn kernels. Wouldn't advise anyone going there if you are ordering appetizers. Original Post Is it ok for a restaurant to server a one appetizer and not server the other one until 15 minuets later? The GN of this location thinks it's ok since they came from 2 sides of the kitchen. Lumpy Lumpy Check-in was lumpy, service was lumpy, ordering was lumpy, food delivery was lumpy. What I mean is the check in was confusing (for them), the table was dirty, waitress was confused and condescending, food was delivered by runners and they had to if they were at the right table. Food was good but not hot and not up to PF standards. Never got our soups, they were out of certain foods and beverages, desserts were delivered 10 minutes apart, and No spoons for the ice cream. I've enjoyed PF Chang s every where we've been, eaten there over 30 times in other parts of the country. The service here is just poor or as I call it LUMPY. Food was good, but got chilled down instantly, all of the tables along the windows have some kind of Air Conditioning /Blower that is beyond local management's ability to control, guests were making repeated trips to their car to grab jackets snd sweaters. We are 20+% standard tippers, almost no matter what. For the first time in a year we left less than 20%. In fact, we left 10%. The great: Lettuce wraps appetizer (superb) Ambiance Peanut butter crunch dessert (decadent) The horrible: Service!! Painfully slow, inattentive. (My water was empty for quite some time, we got the four course special for two ($40) and they forgot our soups. Didn't apologize. Brought us soups mid-meal and asked if we still want them. My favorite- they brought us the wrong dessert (blueberry cheesecake) twice. TWICE! Before our server finally intercepted the food runners and corrected the order. We found it comically bad. Rate of service- we came at 7 p.m. and left at 9:30! Granted they were busy, but they had plenty of staff on the floor. The way in which they handled the crowd was very sub par. Beware spending $$ here. I don't remember P.F. Changs sucking like this. Never again. read more

Note: I've only ordered takeout food from this location. The order was very good. We really enjoyed the spicy chicken, hot and sour soup, pad Thai, and sesame chicken. One fantastic feature is the large gluten-free menu. Make it easy for our gluten free friends to order! The challenge was with the take-out portion of my experience. There was a lot of chaos at the front station. I waited the appropriate time to come and pick up the food (40 mins). I checked in when I arrived. But even this was somewhat chaotic. Because it was busy, I was passed off to a couple of people to check in. Once I was able to tell them which order I was waiting for they said just another minute. 35 minutes later I was still waiting. Five minutes earlier I had noticed some bags that looked like it could potentially be our order. Sure enough it was our order. But the person handling takeout orders was so busy it has been overlooked. Overall it took 75 mins from order to get my food. I would not have minded the long timeframe if they had simply been more realistic and telling me how long it would take for my order to be ready. And telling me my order would be ready in just another minute and then waiting 35 minutes was frustrating. I hope they get a better handle on takeout orders during busy times. read more

Meh! I had eaten at the PFC in another major city for corp lunches. Too expensive for Chinese food. While the location I went to out of state had good over priced food, this place was more "ok but not great". Decor is great, wait staff great. Wine selection- Mark West was very good according to my husband. My husband had never been to a PFC but years ago I told him my opinion. When we sat down and he opened the menu first words out if his mouth was "i see what you mean, prices are ridiculous". We had the lettuce wraps based on friends recommendation and they were different and very good. I had shrimp in Lobster Sauce, which based on the amount of shrimp was not overpriced and it was good but not great. Mongolian beef was WAY overcooked with only scallions that were not edible. Husband loves his Moo Goo Gai Pan, but while it had shrimp and chicken and vegetables, it was pretty much flavorless and the sauce had too much thickening agent. Will we go back?? Probably not unless with a group of friends and if so we will just get the lettuce wraps. read more

When PF Changs was announced it was going to be built 3 blocks from my home I was elated. I watched daily for the opening but held back from going to the restaurant for a month because I wanted to give them a chance to get the kinks worked out. Since opening I have been there quite a few times. Lunch and dinner. I find the experience less then memorable. I have waited for my food way beyond the normal allowed time. I have been served something I never ordered. I've found if I want any service at all I need to sit at the bar. The bartenders value their clients and make sure you are never lacking. I went back this week again for lunch. Orange peel chicken with no orange peel. Brown rice cold. Service horrible. I now see why there were empty tables in the restaurant. Since I have experience in this business. I am a little more critical then most. But, as a Changs lover I have been hoping for a long time that they would get some management who trains their employees. I guess I'll just have to eat in Tampa or ft Myers read more
