I know all my street cred is gone (did I ever have any?) for loving this place. But if loving this much is wrong let me be right. My faves are the Chang's Spicy Chicken and the Orange Beef. Also good are the Dan Dan Noodles, Almond Chicken, and vegi spring rolls. I miss the Shanghai Street Dumps which were removed when they revamped the menu. Things that make Chang-ers special-er than other Chinese restaurants: brown rice (no extra charge), special sauce made at the table, you can add your choice of veggies to a dish for just a little extra, and good quality meats and produce all around. Of course that's also the reason there's often a 45 minute wait to eat here. And plan to park somewhere in the apartment complex next door because there's never any parking in the actual strip mall lot. read more

PF Chang's is a nice change from your typical-run-down-bug-infested- grade-B Chinese restaurant. It has a fancy interior and most of the customers here are in fact ... not Asian at all. BEING Asian, I had nothing wrong with this place. They do a good job of replicating Asian dishes and adding a small twist to them. I came here with a party of 10 and we were served waters. Is it just me or did the water taste very Iron-y? Like it seriously tasted like tap water out of a rusty faucet. Anyways having a large party we kindly wrote down our orders and handed it to our waitress. Our food was out shortly and it was delicious! All of the shrimp and prawn dishes were top hits; walnut shrimp, salt and pepper prawns were gone almost instantly. I was a bit let down with the VIP Duck since I was expecting those fluffy pancakes but got thin green Tortilla like pancakes instead. Also if you are used to Jasmine rice you know like the sticky type of rice you won't get that here. They have a white rice that doesn't stick so even if you are pro at chopsticks you're spoon will be your best friend! The waitress was a bit laggy, but was sure to check up on us often. It's like Chinese-inspired food (think Taco bell to Mexican food), with a slight twist in attempt to make it seem more gourmet looking. I hate it when people compare PF Chang's to an authentic Chinese restaurant. You can not because it's an American-Chinese fusion type restaurant that caters to a different crowd. They do not carry chicken feet, sizzling beef, claypot dishes, etc! Happy hour is my favorite time here. Drinks are just OK but the food is great. The lettuce wraps are tasty, the street beef tacos are savory, and the crispy string beans are mighty delicious. The mix variety of dim sum like bacon and egg dumplings and flaming won tons are unique but flavorsome. Customer service is outstanding at this location. Our waiter looked like Simon Cowell, shit you not... He was always paying attention to us to see if everything was OK. The ambiance felt comfortable and modern. * Since we checked in here on Yelp, we were offered a free appetizer! Overpriced white Chinese food in a nice atmosphere. However, I do love the lettuce wraps and the Asian pear mojito. That's really about it. I went there for a friend's birthday last weekend. I just can't help feeling ripped off paying $45 per person for sub par Chinese food that I know is not worth that price, and not getting any darn lobster for that money! I also find it laughable that there is valet parking for this place. Why is this place also categorized as Asian Fusion??? I don't think that having "Chinese" food and tiramisu on the menu is quite the definition of "fusion." Honestly, the Chinese food is about as good and authentic as Panda Express or Mr. Chau's. Yes I know they are a chain, but I was hungry. Much to my surprise it wasn't bad. Normally the chains open a unit strong and then it fizzles. I had not been to this Chang's in a long time and it was pretty darn good for lunch. I sat at the bar and had a lunch special of hot & sour soup, Moo Goo Gai Pan over a bed of brown rice. The food was hot, without MSG, and tasty. The price was a little high for a lunch special but the quality was there. The bartender Roger was talkative, friendly and happy to be of service. I haven't been here in a while, but from what I remember it's "OK." As others have previously mentioned, this is NOT a "Chinese" place. If you're looking for authentic Chinese cuisine, this is not the place for you. Most of my White/Caucasian friends love this place, and my Chinese friends hate it (if that gives you any idea). Service can be hit-or-miss. Sometimes you'll get someone who is very attentive, and other times it can be very slow. As for the food, I've always been satisfied with what I've gotten. Went here on Thursday Feb 7, 2019 stood at the reception desk for over 5 minutes before the manager greeted up. He was apologetic and very nice I liked him right away. We were seated and was told it was happy hour so we had the chicken lettuce wraps (so good with plenty of chicken and lettuce) then I had the sushi it was ok. The restaurant was somewhat empty and took our food longer then expected to come out but it was worth the wait due to great service. We had chicken lo mein and chicken fired rice and the Honey fried chicken. With white rice I thought the rice and lo mien was a little too sweet but my husband loved it We both agreed the portion size was so much more then the Stanford location in Palo Alto CA We even had enough to take home for our son who also loves P.F. First time visit. We've had a nice lunch here. My wife ordered the orange chicken with rice and I've had the sesame chicken with garlic spinach. The sauces were great, the chicken really tender and the veggies also good. Our waiter was really nice and attentive with everything and quick with refills. Really bad service. I ordered takeout: 2 shrimp dumplings an edamame and a chicken entree. I was told 20 minutes. 35 minutes later the guy shows up and says here's your pork dumplings. I told him I asked for shrimp. He disappeared with no word. Comes back 10 minutes later, "here's your shrimp " dumplings. I say where is my entree? He's "sorry didn't see that in the order. ". 45min later and I got no lunch. Frustrating and no attempt from them to correct or compensate. First and last time in this location! A couple more things: $35 for shrimp dumplings and edamame is steep. This is my favorite P.F. Chang's location. The service is always prompt and the waitstaff is always friendly whenever I go. I love their happy hour menu. I usually order the beef street tacos, crispy string beans, and siu mai. The price is pretty good for the amount of food you get with drinks too. This place is not the place to go if you want some good 'ol Chinese food...yup, it's more like Chinese with a whole lotta American incorporated into their food. So if you like their ambiance, their restaurant's cleanliness (as opposed to most authentic Chinese restaurants or eateries), and like fusion food because the real stuff is something that you can't really handle...then I suggest you try P.F. Absolutely love this location! We came on a Friday night which is a busy night. We only waited 15min if that. The manager came up to us because he wanted one of us to look at the table to make sure we'd be comfortable. The manager then acknowledged my uncle as a veteran and thanked him for his service. We ordered appetizers and entrees. The food came out at a decent time. We had an excellent waiter named Alex. Wow! My preconceived notions about PF Chang's were completely shattered last night. My wife and I came here because our friends had a large get together and we were invited. We are so glad that we went! First off, we are very discerning about where we eat out because we are excellent home cooks (my wife could have been a chef!) Okay, we're picky about restaurants. I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass (Oolong style), it came to our table hot and freshly cooked and was simply incredible. Did I mention that we had a large and demanding group of 10 people?!! Everyone was extra happy with their food and surprised with the excellent service. Our server Eric made certain that the food came to our table with excellent timing and was hot and freshly cooked. I made a point to let the manager know what a great job our waiter was doing and (to my surprise) he told me that this was Eric's first week as a server!! Furthermore "this was the 3rd outstanding report in one week that he had received about Eric's service" Wow! Thank you P.F. Chang's for hiring such wonderful people and giving us such a great all around experience. P.S. I like to bring my daughter and grandkids for dinner here. But our visit yesterday was disappointing. You turned the $7 kids meal into a $20 meal. I was charged $4.50 for the soda and $8.50 for the side that was supposed to come with it. We were originally told when ordering that we couldn't have the side of our choice, that only broccoli comes with it. Ok then we ordered the additional kids side of snap peas. It wasn't delivered with our dinner and we were told we ordered off an old kids menu and there were no snap peas. Then the manager came out and told us he'd get us the snap peas. Surprised with the charges at the end, and the waiter wouldn't take off the additional charges. How come I can't get the meal I want at the advertised price on the menu you gave me? On top of that, they changed the kids fruit salad to just orange slices. My department at work all decided to dine here for a team lunch. We had to take advantage of our prize earned for winning a company contest. When we got here the restaurant was still empty. Yeah it helped coming here right when they opened. Reservations were not necessary. As we were seated, more people started showing up. The waitress was friendly. For lunch I decided to go with the beef chow fun. This is one of my favorite dishes, but it was a little salty for my taste. We were in kind of a rush to get back to work. It took awhile for us to get our check, but we understood the restaurant was not at full staff at 11am. Looks like we got caught in an early lunch rush. I came here for happy hour with my gf. This location has a semi-circular layout with high ceilings and many of the typical PF Chang's decor. We always enjoy the Agave Margaritas. You could say that they are our favorite drink to get at any PF Chang's. I ordered the Chang's Spare Ribs and the Flaming Red Wontons. Both of these are appetizers from the happy hour menu. The BBQ sauce on the Spare Ribs was too sweet for my taste. The Wontons were very good though, not spicy on their own but the sauce they come in is pretty spicy. The restaurant was mostly empty when we were there, we did show up early during happy hour though, when most people were probably still at work. The flavors are pretty good... But it's a chain, and at time the food feels processed and pre packaged (synthetic?). It's like the Chili's or Olive Garden of Chinese food. Food is Americanized, people are hooked onto some of their signature dishes --- it's popular and always full. The occasional guilty pleasure for me. Many steps up from Panda Express. I went a lot when it first opened, but there are so many options for good Chinese food around here, that I don't go here too often any more. But it does the job when looking for a Chinese fix. Kids menu is pretty good (my kids love their honey chicken and fried rice). Lettuce wraps and sauteed green beans are fantastic. Kung Pao chicken was delicious, but the chicken was deep fried (sauteed in a more authentic Chinese restaurant). I used to love their lemon pepper shrimp, but it has been discontinued. They have a lot of nice flavors and will make the food as spicy as you want. However it can be a heavy on the deep frying and salt, which can make you sluggish esp after lunch. It's fun with a group of friends, they have a good drinks menu, the servers are friendly, interesting items on their seasonal menu and delicious (yet decadent) desserts which are great for sharing. The Sunnyvale location feels a little dingy at times (Palo Alto restaurant feels brighter). Parking can be tricky, but they have valet. They also have a great system for take out (you park in one of their special take out spots, call them and they will bring the food to your car). Convenient, but check your items coz I've had a couple of times when they've messed up the order. I was home by then, too late to make the change. They handled it very well -- I called in the error and they refunded the amount for the wrong item to my credit card. Good, friendly service. read more

I ordered a "Weekday Lunch": Crispy Honey Chicken Bowl at PF Chang's in Sunnyvale. The chicken was OK to good. But the total meal was just that chicken over your everyday rice. So the overall impression was quite mediocre. One idea for improvement might be to add vegetables to the meal; another would be to serve a smaller portion of rice but add a small soup. The waitress was pleasant and attentive. I liked the attractive décor. My eyesight is no longer excellent, so I struggled to read the menu in the dim lighting. I wish they would offer better lighting at the tables so I could easily read the menu. This would help decor citizens and those with slight visual impairments. The menu offers mostly Chinese food with a few sushi items and one Korean item that I happened to notice. So the food is definitely Asian, but I did not see any Asian employees and I am uncertain what that means. I was there for lunch and the restaurant was only about 1/5 filled. It may be more popular for dinner, but I cannot say for sure. P Chang's (Sunnyvale) has a very attractive bar for those desiring a cocktail.
