    Burnt beef

We were seated at 725pm (party of 2) - ordered drinks, appetizers, and our entrees within 10 minutes. It took 35 minutes to receive two drinks, and another hour to receive our meal. The Mongolian beef came out so burnt it was charred and tasted horrible. I've been coming here for 15 years, this is the least amount of people I've ever seen in this restaurant yet manager Tamara had every excuse in the world for the reason it took so long. The kitchen is so backed up... what about the bar? Never again!

Hit this late night Sunday, sat at the bar, went in with mid expectations and got just that, mid...got three apps, and they all were missing one important thing...SEASONING!...pork ribs were just saucy, fried green beans just coated in flour, and why send me three dumplings on a 12 inch plate full of sauce..sigh! Drunkin Noodle: best part was the expresso martini...and my bartender was good, this is why a three and not a two

DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT SLOW TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!! We went here because we were excited they were able to sit us quickly.... I now know why. The food was so bland. The service was so terrible. Normally I am okay with having bad service, but we literally sat down and ordered drinks and didn't even get them till 10 minutes after we received our soup.... which in itself took at least 35 minutes..... once we actually got our meals, they had NO flavor.... hardly any sauce and just not worth it. The broccoli was so disgusting that no one even ate it. If I could rate 0 stars I would. The server Sadie didnt even check on us and when we were done eating we waited another 20-30 minutes and had to physically walk up to her to get our check. This was the worst experience of my entire life at a restaurant.... let alone a place thats supposed to be "upscale"

When my party was running late the staff didn't hesitate to allow me to take a seat while I waited. The lettuce wraps are always a winner and the atmosphere feels warm and inviting.

We have been on a Chinese food kick lately, don't ask me why lol. Maybe I'm craving salt. But we were also doing some shopping and had to stop for food before dying of hanger. I still have a cold, so soup for me!!! We got shrimp for appetizers and they were delicious, had a little bit of heat to them. My order came out wrong, so I ended up with both steamed and fried rice. Whoa!!! That's a lot of carbs, and by the time we are done eating it's time for siesta. The restaurant is nice and cozy, and the service is good, too.

Pretty good. This place will always hold a special place in my heart. I have loved this location from the start, but slowly they are drifting away from me loving them to just liking them. Now, I must say what's a 10/10 every time, the agave margarita. They can do no wrong when it comes to making this. My go to meals are the fried shrimp dumplings and the Chang's spicy chicken. At this point, the restaurant is hit or miss and it seems the misses come throughout the week when I dine in and hit every time on the weekend when I dine in. Needless to say, if I do decide to dine during the week it's for happy hour. I have ordered to go a few times recently, but dining in and at the bar on the weekend, Friday - Sunday - is the way to go! Parking is still no issue. However, the parking lot is a short walk away, but it's free. Have fun and enjoy life :)

Love the lettuce wraps. They are always tasty. Service was okay but not stellar and it was not busy at all. Did not seem as clean as it has in the past. Hopefully this was just a one off kind of situation.

Well, I had an incredible lunch experience at Wang Jiang Lou that made my day! It all began with the warm welcome, followed by incredible service table side and even as I left the team made me feel good (More later!). Whoever designed this restaurant knows something about creating an escape from the world experience. The paneling, table settings, lighting, and every inch of the dining area allowed me to take a deep breath escaping from a hectic hot and humid Virginia Beach weekday hustle! The $16 lunch is a bargain! Offering several impressive entrees plus soup. I am extremely particular about Hot and Sour soup and this bowl was delicious with a subtly of flavors and a pleasant silky texture. I consumed every last drop and returned a clean bowl! I chose Yu Xiang Pork as my entree, which my waitress said was one of the top two favorites along with the pork belly. She said she would give the Yu Xiang Pork the edge. She was right because I loved this dish! I like heat and this offered heat. I like varied texture and this had a range of textures. I want flavor that makes you eat everything served and this delicious lunch offering succeeded. For the price I was so impressed with the variety of mushrooms!! The cherry on top for this visit (No, I didn't get an ice cream sundae.) was the warm thank you's PLURAL that I received from the people up front as I left. Their smiles were beaming at me and they genuinely made me feel like they were happy I came in for a $16 lunch. I said with a wink that I was going to the kitchen to see if they would provide the same smiles of thanks and was told that they would (No, I didn't go to find out.). Clearly a great team serving delicious food in an awesome setting made me wish I lived in Virginia Beach but then I stepped outside into the heat, humidity and hectic world that this FIVE STAR restaurant named Wang Jiang Lou made me forget about for an hour.

You can dine in or do takeout. The restaurant has a laid back vibe, and pretty decor. The hanging light fixture is super cute!! The staff is friendly, and we were greeted promptly!! We ordered a garlic butter corndog, a regular corndog, fries, a cookie butter shake, a chicken sandwich, and a mango lemonade... The owner is super sweet, she brought out new items for us to try that she'll be adding to the menu soon. The crab rangoon fries and crab rangoon wonton nachos.. We didn't have to wait long for our food. I was satisfied with that. Korean corn dogs: the garlic butter was tasty on the corn dog, and the regular one was good also with both sauces. You can choose cheese, hotdog, or half and half!! I always enjoy them!! Fries: they were crispy and tasted fresh! The crab rangoon fries were good also. They had scallions, crab, and rangoon cream cheese sauce. The rangoon cream cheese sauce is delicious. We also added a little siracha sauce, which was just enough spice to make it pop. The wonton nachos had the same toppings as the fries. I really enjoyed the wonton chips!! I'd definitely get them again. I had leftovers and the wonton chips were still crispy. Chicken sandwich: it had kimchi cucumbers and honey siracha sauce. It was good and also on the $5 deals menu. Good deal! Cookie butter milkshake: we both liked the drink. The cookie butter taste came through good. My daughter was a little confused because it didn't have ice cream like a milkshake would. So it's more of a thick milk based kind of drink. But I did enjoy it. Mango lemonade: this drink was refreshing. It had just enough sweetness. It comes in a pint sized container. There's mango, watermelon, and strawberry. You can also add boba for an upcharge. Very tasty!! Cookie butter croffle: Mmmm! My daughter loved it, she left me one bite. Lol. This is one of my top flavors!! Honestly all the croffle flavors are good!! All I all, the food was good and customer service was also! There's always something new to be on the lookout for, so check them and their menu out! The restaurant was fairly empty, with only three other tables occupied, so we were surprised by the length of the wait. Our two canned Sapporos didn't arrive until about 30 minutes after ordering. The shrimp sandwich took approximately 45 minutes, and the Vang rolls arrived after about an hour. After waiting an hour, we were informed that the garlic shrimp for our garlic noodles was unavailable, despite it being part of our original order. Unfortunately, the Vang rolls were so salty that we couldn't finish them. Throughout the meal, our water glasses were never refilled, and there was little communication about the delays or unavailable menu items. After roughly 90 minutes of waiting, multiple delays, and learning that several items were unavailable, we decided to pay for what we had received the two Sapporos, the shrimp sandwich, and the Vang rolls, which came to about $70. Perhaps we visited on an off night, but the combination of the slow service, poor communication, unavailable menu items, and disappointing food quality made for a frustrating experience. They are an Asian fusion restaurant, but they offer Burmese dishes. I was excited to try them out because I've never had Burmese cuisine. I'd like to believe Mommy Mom may be the first Burmese restaurant in Hampton Roads, but I can't be sure. At the least, this is, for me, the first time I've come across a Burmese restaurant locally. During my first visit I ordered the following: spring rolls for an appetizer; and for my entree, Kyae Oh (Pork Noodle Soup), which is a noodle soup with vermicelli noodles, quail eggs, tofu, pork meatballs, mustard green in a clear pork broth. The spring rolls were a safe option, but nonetheless excellent, as I've had them at other Asian-oriented restaurants. The Kyae Oh looked appeasing on the menu and tasted fantastic (it kind of reminded me of the Philippines' sinigang) when it arrived at my table. Both items arrived quickly upon ordering and my server (who was also Mommy Mom's owner/operator) was kind, gracious and was always smiling. I enjoyed my initial visit and decided to return as soon as possible. Sadly, though, I didn't get around to returning until October, but I still enjoyed a fantastic meal and excellent service from the same owner. During my October visit I had fried dumplings as an appetizer and followed that up with Ohn Noh Khow swae (Coconut Noodle), which are egg noodles in a chicken curry & coconut milk soup base and boiled egg. The dumplings were excellent - fried perfectly and had a great crunch. The Ohn Noh Khow was excellent, too. Considering it was my first time trying this entree, I didn't know how it was supposed to taste, but I enjoyed the combination of curry and coconut milk. The egg noodles meshed well with the soup base and the chicken was tasty and tender. The only thing I noticed is that the Ohn Noh Khow seemed to be a lighter portion than the Kyae Oh I had a few months earlier. I hope that Mommy Mom wasn't already forced to cut back portion size. After two visits, I feel Mommy Mom is a fantastic place. Their facility is clean and organized, its owner is kind, polite and helpful, and he can obviously cook good food. I enjoy Burmese cuisine because of this and look forward to many future visits! Thank you, Mommy Mom! JV
