General I really like this place. This location however isn't up to par. The veggie patty was quite soggy and the lettuce/sauce was definitely less than typical. The coke was 99% ice leaving no room for the beverage . The fries were brown and definitely over salted. The shake was missing the caramel. Cruise up to Congress and get your meal from a good one. I'm Not sure if these are franchised or because it's near the airport they think it's ok to slack on the brands reputation. Lesson learned. read more

Tried P. Terry's for the first time on a late Sunday evening. Bruh this place is the BOMB! Short easy to read menu. Nice friendly service from the employees. Drive-thru line is never long because they hustle and work quick. We had a cheeseburger combo that comes with fries & a small drink. A double cheeseburger and a large oreo shake. I thought that it was kind of funny how the small drink and large shake were the same size lol. It's all good because everything here is solid! After a long day, I mistakenly chose to stop at P.Terrys for a simple meal, unfortunately I didn't realize that I would be stuck waiting on in lanes for 54 minutes. That's right 54 minutes to get a burger and fries. When I pulled up to the window the kids were inside hanging out, on their phones. The guy told me my meal was coming. Interesting experience. They don't really have a walk up window or anything, it's really only a drive through so I asked the very helpful fellow who picked me up at the airport to bring me to my temporary accommodations to stop in. Since this was my first night in Austin I wanted to attempt at a lighter meal so I got the chicken burger combo (if you get Diet Coke it immediately makes the meal akin to a salad, no matter what you are eating, right??) Anyhoo, quick service and for a little over $8 seemed like a good deal. The burger was good, thin patty so it really barely seemed like chicken which was rather ok to me. The fries were of the natural cut variety which I like but thinner than I usually opt for. Desperation means I dug in and didn't care much but at another time I would have had second thoughts about the fries. One big plus is the crushed ice for the soda, that's always a good move in my book. Overall, a fine meal for a situation that called for something just different enough but readily available. I know they don't have a super extensive menu, but the ingredients are really quality ingredients. The beef is great, buns are soft, and they either make their own pickles, or get them from an artisan pickle maker. lol I really like pickles. The only fault I could find is that their fries are not as crisp as I would prefer, but they're definitely homemade. read more

We stopped here before flying out of the Austin Airport. It's in a really strange spot, like a right turn off of the freeway. We had been in the Austin area for the last 5 days, and we tried our best to hit up some authentic Austin/Texas food establishments. When we were on our way to the airport we couldn't really think of anything else that we needed to try. Luckily my husband caught the P. Terry sign and we quickly exited to try it out. It looks like a pretty normal fast food place, but I was very pleased with the food and prices. Extremely affordable and tasty. I had the cheeseburger, and added onions and jalapeños. They have a "secret sauce" that reminded me a lot of the In N Out sauce. In fact, the whole thing was very similar to In N Out, but I personally liked P. Terry's better!! All Californians will want to kill me for saying such a thing, but honestly, the fries were MUCH better than In N Out. They actually had flavor! And the burger was well made and really hit the spot. We also ordered the chocolate shakes and those were thick and tasty as well. My husband got me a large even though I wanted a regular, and I did feel slightly sick afterward :( If we ever make it out to Austin or Texas again (may never happen) we will definitely be stopping by P. Got there 15 minutes before closing time and the drive up ssaid they were closed. I asked the workers about the message and they told me to go back to it at which time they took my order. They had already closed the shake machines and I was going to get 2 of them. They had a late night rush at closing and as I was at the window another guy was up there complaining at 5 minutes before closing that he could not get service. I guess this location has gotten things together! I have been twice now: once during breakfast and once during lunch rush. The orders were correct, the line moved quickly and the food was fresh as always and delicious. I love P Terry's! The other bad reviews have been all commented on by management and offered gift certificates, it looks like. This location just needed some time to make adjustments. While the food was good as any P Terry's, we were disappointed by the condition of the dining area. Tables were dirty as was a wall leading to the counter. One clean table we found had a wobbly stand so we found a smaller one that looked like it hadn't been cleaned well. read more

This P Terry's entrance is easy to miss. The staff on the 2nd drive thru lane were very nice even though the speaker system was clearly having issues. I would have given this 5 stars if P Terry's had that speaker fixed. It took unnecessarily long to order through the speaker. read more

The food was okay. Better than I expected. While in Texas, my son yelled that he wanted a burger for every meal. I'm not surprised, he always want a burger. So we stopped by this location since it was close to the hotel where we were staying. He ordered the hamburger and added bacon. Bacon was an extra $0.95, they also had a veggie burger, which was housemade. The veggie burger was definitely better than I anticipated. I did not like that they used processed cheese but otherwise the food was good. I did have to pay an extra $0.20 for onions which was weird to me but worth it. They also have milkshakes, which is an upcharge as well as well as the lemonade, which is an upcharge too. It definitely didn't taste like fountain lemonade so I'm pretty sure it was homemade. It was a little thicker than I'm use to having. I would still prefer Chick-fil-A milkshake but it is still pretty good. Their fries were amazing. And I was very surprised at just how good it was. I do wish they'd put more veggies on the burger. I taste more of the burger than anything else and I'm more of a more vegetables little meat type of person even though I had the veggie burger. They also have antibiotic-free meat, which I thought was really good. read more

Fast food that is reliably good and I don't feel too terrible about eating. Not sure I can say anything about P Terry's that hasn't already been said, so I'll comment on the location: it rocks. There is nothing more satisfying than coming home after a long trip and seeing the P Terry's sign. I now look forward to it as part of the homecoming experience. read more

The party was juicy, ingredients were fresh, fries were crispy (just how I like them but I know some people don't) only complaint was gentleman at the intercom asked if I wanted ketchup in the bag, I said yes but didn't actually get ketchup. I travel to Austin frequently and always see this chain so I thought I would finally try it and see what all the hype was about. Went around 8:00 and it was pretty dead quiet. Order a burger and fries and patiently waited for my order. The wait was t bad but I assumed the delay was to prepare fresh items for my meal. The burger was over cooked and dry and the fries were cold and tasted like they had been sitting around quite a while. The "special sauce" actually had good flavor and saved the burger from being awful. I have this two stars because despite the things I mentioned, I actually think this food could potentially be good if it was hot, fresh and not over cooked. I love P Terry's and was really excited when a location opened near my home. Both times I have been to this location the fries have been soggy and cold. On my most recent visit I took a bite of my chicken burger to find I was eating a sticker mixed in the lettuce. I checked my wrapper and the sticker was intact so it wasn't like I accidentally put the sticker in there. I could see how it maybe would get thrown in the wrapper but was kind of gross that it was actually in the burger toppings. I will be avoiding this location in the future. read more
