The prices are very reasonable. I'm not sure why other places don't copy the P. Terry's model, or at least attempt to. I do not find P. Terrys as amazing as everyone else says. Not that the burgers are not fresh or good but there is nothing about them that stands out from other burger joints. Nothing in the taste makes me crave it or want to go back all the time. The burgers are good but nothing out of the ordinary. I do have a huge appreciation for how fresh the meat is and the veggies. During my lunch, if I want a burger I will come here because of the freshness. Now I do have to say, I love their veggie burger. That is usually what I get when I go. The patty is not all soggy and they will get the outside of the patty a little crisp but it holds together nicely. The fries are alright. My biggest complaint about all of them is the locations! Every location is situated in the smallest part of a parking lot that has no parking or extremely little. So you have car lines going into the main street stopping traffic. Had a really bad experience here. It was my first time so I was a little unaware of the process. I forgot to ask for pickles and onions until after my order was placed. The lady who took my order said she'd let them know, but she didn't. Maybe that was partially my fault, but I know that my ice cold fries were NOT my fault. My burger really wasn't all that warm either. I would give this 0 starts if I could, but I can't. I like that P Terry's puts thought into where they source their ingredients. I love their veggie burgers and fresh-squeezed lemonade. It's one of the few fast food joints in the area that offers a veggie burger. They load their burgers with lettuce and tomatoes. I love veggies, but normally have to take some of the lettuce off. I always ask for pickles and onions, which cost a little bit extra. I've never been a fan of their french fries. I find them far too greasy and bland. I can finally say I have been to P Terry's. Stopped today, a little hairy pulling into this location, no where to park, it is just drive thru. Ordered a cheeseburger all the way combo. I like fries with the skins on and they tasted nice, but cold and not crisp. But being a drive thru your stuck with it the way it is. I ate a few. The burger was not hot either, but it was loaded with fresh crisp lettuce, onion, tomato, and pickles. Maybe that cooled down the burger, or the girl at the window ignoring me and the cars stacked up and the orders stacked up, while she was on the phone. By far the best fast food burger for the price! The veggie burger is outstanding as well as the regular burgers. I have never had any issue with temperature on the food either. I have heard that the veggie burger can be greasy, but never for me. Its not the greatest burger ever, but if you want to eat decent fast food for 5 bucks, its the spot. read more

My husband and I just moved to Austin from Southern California and we are vegetarian. Needless to say , since we are from SoCAL we are used to and love going to In and Out for their yummy grilled cheese burgers and french fries. P. terry's blew In and Out away..it was soooooooo good! I've always been willing to take a chance at this P. Terry's. The line can be awful, the fries are good 20% of the time and the turnover of staff can make for slow service, but I've been willing to risk it for a bacon jalapeno cheeseburger and a shake. Until today. The line was surprisingly short for a Saturday, we ordered our usual and briefly wait until it's our turn to pay. Unexpectedly, both of our cards are declined. So we offer a third card, while we check to make sure everything is right with our debit accounts. Both accounts have more than enough to cover our order more than 10x. The third card comes back, also declined. We mentioned that it might be their system, as we both have more than enough in our accounts. No attempt to check was made, just an insistence for cash. So we left. In less than 5 minutes, we had ordered a pizza and paid, with the first debit card we had offered. Maybe next time, don't assume that the problem is your customer's fault? Most times I am pleased with the quality and freshness of P. Terry's burgers and fries and the service the employees give to their customers; however, tonight's order was a different story. I had to wait at least a minute for them to answer me on the com box. The gentlemen working the register was friendly, asking me if I wanted ketchup. He gave me my drink, then my food. Most times I am in a rush so I grab the bag and don't look twice to see if my complete order is there. Tonight I was in shirts and did just that and when I open the bag when I come home it only has 2/3 of my order. This is a common mistake and every restaurant but when I called them about the mistake they simply said "Can you come back right now?" I said, "Well, no sir I'm already home and would prefer not to make a second trip and wait in line... again." He responded sympathetically stating he was sorry for the mistake and if I brought the receipt back I could get the burger." PRETTY STANDARD PARODICAL IF YOU ASK ME, but I would train my employees to act empathetically with their customers and react in such a way that makes them want to come again such as " I'm so sorry about that sir. For your inconvenience we will give you your meal for free or come back again whenever you are able to and we will throw in a burger free of charge." From my point of view, this particular P. Terry's is complacent and the only thing on the employees mind is to serve as many customers it can and then close shop. I believe there is a saying called Quality over quantity and this location is doing just the opposite. Will I return to the P. I love the veggie burger here, and lately the fries have seemed less oily and crispier (this applies to all locations). I whipped in this evening because the dine-in location at MoPac and Will Cannon was closing in 5 minutes. There was only one car in front of me. I didn't have to wait long to order, and my food was ready a minute after I pulled up to the window. My one and only complaint are the beverage options. I blindly ordered a root beer since this normally yields a frothy Maine Root root beer. As I was pulling away, I noticed a soda fountain stocked with nothing but Coke products. At the next stoplight, I took a sip, and found nothing but HFCS-ridden Barq's in my cup. Others may not prioritize what's in their cup, but I look forward to my soda as much as my burger and fries. read more

It is embarrassing how often I eat here. I have probably eaten here two hundred times in the past year and a half. The only negative is that the car line can creep out into Ben White if you hit it during peak times, such as SXSW. The quality is very consistent. Sure, they may have gotten my order wrong once and a few times the service was a little off. But, 99% of the time it is good. That is a remarkable success rate. The burgers are all good. I have become a fan of the breakfast. You can customize your order however you want it. For example, I often order an egg burger with ham and sausage plus a slice of tomato, hold the cheese, or I add bacon to my chicken burger. The ingredients are a standard deviation above most fast-food burgers. Most importantly, they use good quality meat. You can feel and taste the difference. Miraculously, you don't pay for the difference. Meals here cost about the same as the dreadful offerings at other corporate chain restaurants. Can you beat that? You pay the same as you would for a meal at Jack in the Box, but receive a completely superior standard of quality. Also, the hours are great. Open at 7 a.m. on weekdays and open until 3 a.m. on weekends. They also serve a mean cup of coffee and the cups and lids are solid (an important feature for morning commuters). They also rotate their shake menu. Every once in a while I can not resist the allure of their latest offering. I even have to praise the design of their restaurant. It is a very attractive and efficient layout. They seem to do a very good job training their staff, too. The service is straightforward and polite. No corporate b.s. such as the phony recordings you encounter at McDonald's or upselling sales techniques. This place really is the best. I will stop gushing now. read more

I like P Terry's for the antibiotic free chicken and that mentality. And I go to a few locations regularly. But this location has pretty poor service. They get orders wrong all the time. As an example: the last time I went it was the morning, and I ordered a large coffee, banana bread, and an egg burger. There were NO OTHER CUSTOMERS there. When I got to the window I was given a small coffee and a bag with an egg burger only in it. This was just the latest in a string of mistakes. I just don't know what's wrong, because the other location I frequent most (way north off of Mopac) has never made a mistake. Also, I just stopped ordering the veggie burger because they usually came out like hockey pucks (at this location). Love the shakes and the cookies and coffee. I went here for the first time today on my lunch break. One of the girls I work with eats there all the time. So I decided to try it out since she always ask if I want something. The place isn't bad at all. I had the chicken burger because I don't eat beef. I like that they actually use ground chicken for the patty instead of a grilled chicken breast like most other food restaurants. The fires were not that great. They tasted like they make large amounts to help with their lunch rush, and I just got what was at the bottom of the bin. You do get a lot though. I also had a vanilla shake. I have a weakness for milk shakes. I have to say I wasn't impressed. I tasted just like any other shake from other fast food restaurants. I was disappointed that the soft drink options only consisted of carbonated sodas. I don't drink that nor do I drink tea. They do have lemonade, but most juices are too sweet for me, so I didn't want to try it. I gave it 3 stars because it was just OK. Nothing about it really stood out to make it awesome. To me, it was just like any other burger joint. I was a little disappointed that I couldn't go inside to order. It is drive-thru only. I don't like drive-thru because some people take forever when they should already know what they want, but the menu is really small, so there are not that many options. Besides, during the lunch rush, you really have no choice but to sit and wait, because it is so busy. read more

I tasted one of his fries and immediately thought they were yummy. They are the really skinny kind of fries and they give you so many. The milk shake was really good too. So I decided yesterday I would order from here. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger, fries, and a chocolate milkshake. The burger was really yummy. I can see why there is always a long line at this place. 4 stars for the food but the service at this particular location is awful! They mess up my order probably every time. This past time I ordered a number one and added pickles and onions (bc they add that by request) I ended up with a burger with only onions and pickles.... What's the point of adding it if they're just going to substitute all the other veggies for just that. Not what I wanted... Anyways the location isn't in the best spot either. A favorite! Was in the hospital when my family tried it for the first time. I had an applelilly from juiceland. I mean, the juice was great, made me feel great, gave me energy; but I was surely craving that chicken burger. Once out of the hospital, I finally tried it and fell in love. Absolutely love the flavor, love the fries and the strawberry shake. Not giving them the full 5 because I wish they would take away that seasonal peanut butter shake. It's the ONLY peanut based item on their menu, it's only seasonal, it's not one of their main beverages and I personally think it would do them no harm to take it off. Being one of the only burger places that don't regularly work with peanuts, it would mean a lot for people with allergies if they would just take it off their menu permanently. read more
