While vacationing in Austin, my family noticed a number of billboards advertising P. Terry's as "Texas' secret," which put it on our must-try list. One neat thing is that every location seems to boast its own unique and imaginative architecture. The one we went through was a drive-they only location with no indoor seating, but there were places to park as well as a couple picnic tables to eat at outdoors. The drive-thru had two lanes, but it wasn't busy when we arrived so only one was open. They were reasonably quick and efficient in preparing our order. The food was delicious!! Lots in common with In and Out, though their fries are more shoestring style (and the best fries I've enjoyed in awhile!!). The lemonade was also refreshing and the chocolate oatmeal cookie was HUGE-- my mom and I had to split it. They managed the perfect mix of chewy and crisp, which is hard to pull off. And only $1! We stopped back again to buy more cookies for the road before leaving the Austin area. Next time I'll be sure to buy one of their t-shirts cuz let me say: I'm a fan!! If we move out here, P Terry's will definitely be a regular vice of mine. read more

First time at P Terry's and I am impressed! I was hesitant to come before because I wasn't sure if they could lettuce wrap a burger for me so glad I looked online and on r/keto to make sure! He burger was a little messier than I had expected, but it was delicious. I had hem do a double burger and single cheese ( I'm not a sure fan of American cheese) and it came out perfect. The mix of onions tomatoes and their secret sauce was a great complement to the overall flavor. I will totes be going back to this location as the staff is so friendly and helpful. I love me some P-Terry's sometimes and when I finally crave it and get it, it never disappoints. I wouldn't go so far to say this is the best burger but it is my favorite fast food burger (sorry In and Out). I feel the burgers are decently cheap. I haven't been to McD's in awhile but I feel a burger there is more expensive. Ingredients are fresh and it definitely did not taste like it was sitting under a heat lamp waiting for me to order it 20 min later. Only peeve about this place - the chicken burger is more expensive than the double cheeseburger. More than a dollar more I think (or maybe a more than a dollar more than the single cheeseburger?)! My last trip to Austin was for work and I noticed all these P Terry's popping up and the street I was on actually had 3 locations! So, of course I had to try it and see why and how they are opening so many locations. Don't be fooled y'all, when they say it's a stand they mean it! There is no seating, the whole place is a drive through, and there is not a picnic table like Sonics for you to eat at or spots for you to park at either. We were passing through on our way home from Fredericksburg and wanted to stop in and eat but ended up eating in the car due to no seating. With that being said, the burgers are supposed to fresh, Whole Foods quality, and their aim is to do right what fast food is doing wrong while still being fast. Does that make sense? If not look up the Pterry history that started with a married couple and is now expanding to San Marcos area. The burgers are pretty cheap and I was able to finish a whole one and didn't hate myself afterwards. I can never finish a whataburger and I still feel disgustingly full afterwards. This place really makes me think of In-n-Out Burger with its limited menu, cheap burgers and fresh fries. PTBS buildings look like buildings from the 1950s. Each location on the website looks unique. The chicken burger was good, but was a bit bland. It reminded me of the turkey burgers from Costco. My daughter liked the burger and fries. I like the fact that this place was busy, but they worked two drive thru lines at a good rate. PTBS has locations all over Austin. I would probably visit PTBS again if they came to Houston, but I would not rank them above Whataburger. read more

I think the burgers are great - no hormone, no antibiotic, vegetarian fed beef. Chicken burger are also house made patties, good but I'd pick the veggie over the chicken. First off this place wraps their burgers properly so they stay warm, fries are better, spread is better, burger is bigger and tastes better, and their milkshake taste homemade unlike In N Out which tastes like a machine McDonald's milkshake. I am from the north east with no biased to In N Out. If you walk-up, they'll take your order, but you'll be precariously perched on a ledge among their motor traffic--much like one of their servers. I'd hate to be their underwriter. This part of town is booming with adjacent high-rise condos and medical facilities. It would be Austin cool if P. Terry's could come up with a less perilous way to service foot traffic via a walk-up window or simply from one of the several empty parking spaces. Stopped here for a veggie burger and fries. I couldn't believe the price for the veggie burger, less than $4. Overall it was a good burger for the price point, the only drawback was the patty was pretty mushy. The French fries were really tasty, thin, and well cooked and were also a steal at less than $2 for a rather large portion. Wow! This little stand was pretty busy on a Thursday night at 9p. I have never seen a P. Terry's before and while I don't usually go to chain restaurants, I figured I'd give their burgers a shot. When we first pulled up, I noticed that their burgers were very reasonably priced. I ordered a double bacon cheeseburger and was not disappointed in the least. The burger was delicious and although it looked small, it really filled me up and I actually was unable to eat all of it, which was such a shame. The staff at P. Terry's was really nice and got us our order immediately. This location is a drive thru only and was a tad confusing getting into it that we had to circle, but we figured it out. I don't understand why you have insisted upon your order takers and food delivers to not read back the full order, I've had discussions with your employees the last two times I've been there and they say it's the new policy. If a custom order is messed up over and over, why would you insist on people not re-reading the order? There is no shortage of good burgers in Austin so I was excited to try this place. I ordered a cheeseburger with pickles and onions on a wheat bun and a side of fries. They make the food so dang fast you will not have to wait for a minute in the drive thru. I tried to be healthy by ordering the wheat bun but I think that was a mistake because it was a little dry and didn't really conform to the burger. Everything else about the toppings and burger itself was delicious. I don't think much more would have fit between the buns with the cheese, mayo, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onions, and ketchup. You can also imagine how messy this was but worth every bite and crumbled napkin to wipe my hands off. The bag of fries is enough to feed 2-3 people but I managed to eat almost all of it by myself. They were a little too greasy so they got hard pretty fast when the grease soaked up into the fries. Nice one-of-a-kind Austin establishment perfect for any burger craving day or night. read more

P terry's is one of the best burgers in town ... of course in my opinion. I personally think it is tough to beat a Whataburger double meat cheese burger but P Terry's gets pretty close. The ingredients here are fresh. I love that at this particular location they have huge windows that look directly into the kitchen and I can see my burger being made. I can see then also cutting up the veggies and taking the whole potato and putting them into the fry cutting machine. It some how gives me a sense of peace and satisfaction being able to see the process ... nothing to hide here. The burger itself is so good and cheesy. It is juicy and simply delicious. The fries here are a little different than most places, but I am definitely a fan. They taste like they are fried in a good oil or something. I like that they have the skins too. Yeah so .. Pterry's is pretty much my favorite drive through burger. I can get better burgers in town for sure but you would be very hard pressed to get a better burger from a drive through. I am always blown away at how fresh everything tastes. You can tell from one bite that beef hasn't been frozen and that the veggies haven't been sitting in a refrigerator going bad. Every burger I have ever gotten from Pterry's is always cooked to perfection. I love that moment when you bite into your burger and juice runs down your chin. The worst thing possible for me in a burger is to get a thin over cooked beef patty. That seems to never happen when I eat at Pterry's The fry's are so amazing they almost deserve their own review. I love how they are cut so small and end up with some weird blend of crispy greasy soggy awesomeness. I can always taste the freshness of the potatoes too. I know its almost cliche how much I've used the word fresh in this review but that is what's so good about Pterry's, its super fresh and tastes like something I would make myself at home. We haven't been eating out as much, and when we have, we tend to stick around the Southpark Meadows area, but last night we decided to pick up P. Terry's because I felt like enjoying a traditional homestyle burger. Then I remembered how much I used to enjoy picking up veggie burgers from here for lunch. I ordered online for the first time, and I recommend it if you're like me and panic when you get to the drive through, feeling an irrational internal pressure to decide and not take too long, haha. Or maybe that's just my issue? Ordering online was great especially for this pandemic era because you can just pay online, and pick up your food. You give them your name at the speaker, and your order is brought out to you by their awesome employees. I've always noticed great customer service at this location. The Veggie burger was good as always. I like to add pickles to it. My husband got the double w/cheese , and we were intrigued with the new crispy chicken burger we noticed online, so we got one to share. I almost accidentally ordered the regular chicken burger but caught it before I submitted . Husband thought the chicken burger was "alright", and I liked it because I actually really enjoy chicken burgers. I usually go for spicy chicken burgers so next time I should add jalapeños to it. I love this place... Don't get me wrong I'd give it five stars but a couple things stop me from that. 1. As a place that takes so much pride in using fresh ingredients, local produce and natural, hormone-free beef/chicken Im surprised that they don't offer a gluten-free bun option yet. Really soggy in fact, I saw it for myself and I'm telling you went lettuce and wet tomato made for a nasty bottom bun. I looked through a lot of the pictures posted on here from other people and seems to be the standard assembly for them, tomato against the bread. Why though? Why do they put the wet tomato against the bun, instead of against the meat? I think both of these things are pretty simple fixes.. SO, I challenge you P-Terry's to make this simple adjustments. I text the number on the bag with my comments and they always get back to me and correct the problem. I like that.
