Took at least 40 minutes to get through the drive thru. I could see a woman on her phone without gloves and then go immediately to handling food. I get my order and it's wrong and I was charged for it, luckily another guy stepped in and refunded everything. I tell them my correct order and they still got it wrong. Wrong burger, wrong drink, no special sauce like I asked for. The guy also handed me my food first then immediately turned his back to me and I didn't have my drink so I just waited and then he tried handing me another bag of food but the other guy stopped him because all I need was my drink!!!! And it was still the wrong drink! Imagine waiting that long to get your whole order wrong. I'm so disappointed in this location. Do better, train better, get the freaking orders right, and don't let your employees be on their phones where customers can see them handle food afterwards without washing their hands. Ugh. I've been to this location several times and the burgers are good for the price plus it's all-natural. I love the special sauce so always ask for extra for my burger and fries. However, the customer service is getting worse and they go stingy w/ the special sauce. Overtime I'v asked for extra they fill up the container not even half way! I always offer to pay extra for the sauce but they refuse to sell it. I've texted the feedback # and the response I got was that they make it fresh w/ natural ingredients w/o preservatives so they make just enough but they will take my feedback & start making more sauce. I stopped going for several months b/c I feel like I have to beg for sauce every time I go. I started to give our business to Burger Fi & In & Out instead b/c they have great customer service and are more than happy to give us extra burger fi sauce/animal sauce. Recently I decided to give P. Terry's a try again and AGAIN they were stingy with their sauce!!! My friend had the same problem and she asked for only 1 extra side of special sauce and they barely put anything in the container. Word of advice if you want to keep your business: If a customer demands extra sauce or whatever it is and are willing to PAY for it, then make sure you meet the demand? If you charged extra for sauce, you would keep my business and would make more $. I will continue to go to Burger Fi & In & Out and will not be returning to P. I've been twice to this burger place, and I seriously have no idea why people actually like it. On my first trip during lunch hour, they had this insane system with 2 lanes and people running all over handing out food. Too bad they didn't hand it to me, but managed to drip Coke all over me, my car, and my food. I decided to give them another try today because they are really close to my work, and after waiting about 15 minutes with only 3 cars ahead of me, I finally get my order. Soggy fries, and apparently they just pulled the buns out of the freezer, because my burger was literally ice cold. Last but not least, when I order a hamburger I do expect it to be COOKED. I understand what fast food is. But I also don't like to lump P. Terry's in the same category as McDonald's. I am a true McDonald's hater, haven't eaten there in years, and will never eat there again. I won't take my kids there, if I ever have spawn of my own. The burgers are made from beef that's never given antibiotics or hormones, and I personally think you can taste the difference. I think a hamburger is the right size - is it a quarter pound of beef? No, but it's a healthier serving size. If you want something a bit more substantial, order a double or opt for a chicken burger. They're great. The veggie burger is good, too, and I order it quite a bit despite the fact that I am definitely a meat eater. The fries aren't everyone's cup of tea, but I like them. They're super thin and you get a ton of them. Sometimes they're better than others. I've only had a milkshake from here once - I think it was caramel, and it was delicious. Oh yeah, if you're trying to watch your carbs, they can wrap your burger in lettuce instead of putting it on a bun! Unfortunately, it's extremely messy, and you'll need to eat it with a fork and knife. Overall, I really like P. Terry's, and wish this location had a place to sit and enjoy the food. I don't mind taking it home after a night at Bender, however. My roommates and I used to come here, order the food, and then eat it in the Shell station parking lot next door. I wanted to compare them to my favorite Austin burgers, but none of those places are fast food/drive through types. So I can't rate P. Terry's like a Casino El Camino. It is NOT a sit down burger joint, these folks are doing their version of an Austin fast food, drive through burger. With that in mind, i bumped them from a 3 to a 4 star. Compared to fast food burgers, they are good. Way better than any conventional fast food burger, aka, Wendy's or Mcdonald's. I don't like their buns, they are very dry, but the burger itself is fresh and the veggies are always very fresh. They are a step up with meat that is more natural than conventional and never frozen meat or fries. Tasty lettuce wrap options for folks avoiding the buns. Fresh baked cookies and banana bread, daily. I like a good breakfast menu, and they have one. If i had a row of drive through (FAST FOOD) burger places, this one stands out above the rest. read more

Eh. It's fast food. The burgers are small with thin patties, but they're also very, very affordable so I can't complain. The fries are delicious---a good width and crispiness, and the portion is generous. I like their P. Terry sauce and the branding is very attractive. It's a better choice than a national chain burger from the likes of McD or BK, and for the same price, though if you're looking for the best burger in town, you're barking up the wrong tree. I like the location on S. Lamar better. Their drive through has big dog biscuits for pups in tow. My dog had his head hanging out and his tail wagging at the Ben White location, looking for his P. Terry biscuit, but the poor little guy was SOL. Maybe I caught them one day when they'd run out? Anyway if he could talk, he would ask me to only go to the S. This is one of the newer locations, and it's pretty much a straight down the pipe, P. Terry's spot. You've got to at least get a double cheeseburger here - the patties are so thin. Minus one star for the sauce that drips in your lap while driving. Geebus, that's a messy burger. They need to pack these in a diaper for to go orders. By the time you spot P Terry's, you've already driven past the entrance and need to do a U-turn to give it another go. Finally make it to order and I notice that onions and pickles are available upon request. So I order a cheeseburger combo with onions and a lemonade. The reply is "you want a cheeseburger?" I repeat myself and I hear "okay cheeseburger all the way and lemonade". Does that mean combo? Are you adding pickles also? Is that store lingo or just stupidity? "Please pull up"...does that mean the first or the second window? Because there's no one at the first window. Just as I'm about to drive to the 2nd window, here comes an un-enthused cashier. Okay, great. Just give me my food. There's two girls at the 2nd window so I stop beside them and roll down my window. The first girl asks me to pull forward. Seriously? Because there's absolutely no one behind me. Am I holding up the invisible crowd? I literally pull forward a foot. The second girl turns around un-enthused and hands me my food. Thank goodness I pulled up so I didn't inconvenience the food runner and have her actually move. And telling me to have a good day in a flat, monotone voice doesn't do much. It's usually a frustrating visit because the line is so long. That means it's good right? Now I think their staff is just incompetent and that's why the line is always so long. Came here after a trip to Fat Cactus didn't pan out. Don't get me started. We cruised up thinking it was an eat-in place when it's all to go only. Ok, so we took our order. Two number 2's. Came out in 8 minutes. We were on the road in 1 minute. We couldn't hold out and ate it on the way home. Very good burger. Pretty substantial. The meat was...meat-y and beef-y. I can't explain it but it's probably good quality meat. The lettuce and tomato were fresh, special sauce wasn't as zesty as I'd like but...still a good meal and for around 10 bucks, not bad! I arrived into Austin after 9pm starving. The late hour didn't leave many options for food, but in a city with some of the best food in the world I was bound to come across something. That something was P Terry. Attracted by the cute 50's decor and the promise for fresh food, I turned into the drive-thru. First thing I was struck by is the friendliness of the employees and the limited menu of fresh items. I chose a burger and fries. The burger was fresh and flavorful. The fries were like nothing I have ever tasted before...extra extra crispy and super clean. I washed it all down with a lemonade which was perfect - not too tart and not too sweet. Don't bother going to any of the other fast food chains, come here. You are going to get a good fresh meal at a really fair price. And as for the comparison to In n Out, I can confirm...this is not better, but it does a damn good job of capturing the essence of In n Out. read more
