This place is good but not over the top for me. I've had a few different dishes here from vegetarian options to seafood. The tofu is sort of bland, wasn't my favorite as I've had many tofu dishes but this one didn't quite cut it for me. On a previous occasion I had fried calamari here which was actually quite delicious however the California roll I ordered was bland and the rice was leaving a starchy liquid all over the plate. SUMMARY: Good food for the most part and great service. This is our second visit and the experience was much better to the point we plan to return again. And thanks to the manager there for being attentive to my first review. BACKGROUND After my wife and I's first visit, we had some issues with our food but not the service, so the manager there was apologetic and personally wrote me to try to make things better. We decided to give it another try and visited the restaurant with reservation w/ our friends Robert R and Lylah. FOOD We ordered their brussell sprouts to share and I ordered their lobster roll while the wife ordered their chirashi (sashimi fish over rice). The brussell sprouts were grilled or baked in a semi sweet sauce and was one of the nicer dishes I had that night. My friends said it was one of their favorite so I'm glad they ordered that for us to share. 5/5. My lobster roll was phenomenal. A lot better than the fish and chips I ordered the first time. So yes, you're going to pay for it...after all it's lobster. But it's well worth it and I highly recommend the lobster roll. The lobster was seasoned with juuuust enough of their seasoning and sauce to flavor the lobster with something unique and tasty. It was served on fresh romaine lettuce and topped with some bits of various veggies. Most pleasing was that it was served on sweet Hawaiian slider bread which was halved and most likely grilled on butter to a nice crisp. How good was it? So good that my wife ate most of it. 6/5 if I could. And here's why: unfortunately her chirashi entree wasn't very good. I tried a few bites and well, it just wasn't up to the quality we're used to. The rice was off. If the intent was to make this a bed of sushi rice, it didn't taste like it. And the tuna had a very strange kind of glaze on it. Perhaps her expectations shouldn't have been that this is an authentic Japanese chirashi, but a fusion one. But nevertheless we didn't quite enjoy this very much. 2/5 SERVICE Wow, the two people who waited on us (shift change I believe) were just super people. This is precisely why we decided to revisit and give it another try and it seems that this restaurant and the management are on top of hiring and training their people well on customer service. Top notch. 6/5 if I could rate it that way. REVISIT? Yes. I think we've quickly figured out that the go to dish so far for us is the lobster roll. From there, actually getting our food took another 20+ minutes. I heard amazing things about this place and was so looking forward to taking my Dad because since he's been in chemo and radiation, he doesn't have the strength to go out much. My friends had bad experiences with the service (not the food) but I really wanted to give it a chance. After messing up our order twice (understandable) my Dad was really upset when the server spilled food and sauce onto my Dad's brand new shoes. He almost didn't wear them because they were brand new and custom but I convinced him to because it was a special occasion. The carelessness of the server throughout the night ruined my Dad's brand new $175 shoes that need to be bought custom because his feet are too wide to buy anywhere else. He wishes we never went because thought the manager made our meal free, that won't pay to fix his ruined shoes. The food is fine but the service here is a mess. Steer clear. read more

Met my GF for lunch on a recent Monday. We sat in the bar. There were plenty of seats inside and outside. Their wine by the glass selection was good. Their bloody Mary was excellent. I had the mixed seafood platter; plenty of calamari, generous fish serving and coconut shrimp. The plate was very beg, a great value that was really tasty. My girlfriend and I were excited to try this place so we decided to celebrate our anniversary here. The kids had fish tacos, and we shared the grilled sea bass and the "Mixed Catch". The tacos were ok. The sea bass was not seasoned very well. The Mixed Catch was mostly batter with a little fish in it. And the fries were cold. The main issue was one of the kids finding a small rubber band in their broccoli. They could've easily choked on it but luckily they didn't. We told the waitress and she told the manager. We have come here for dinner and had great experiences each time. I find the dining area inside very generic so we have dined in the patio area which is great on warm nights and on cool nights they close the plastic window shade. I love the blue light fireplace which makes for great ambiance. The "All in"meal is fabulous for a party of four or more and has a little of almost everything. Review #285 - 2018 I had this place bookmarked recently because the "Going All In" platter actually caught my eyes from their Yelp page. I decided to use my son's birthday as an excuse to come out and try their food. I made reservation for 4:15 PM on Friday, September 14th, so I could save a few bucks during their Happy Hour. When we showed up around 4 PM, we were given a choice of whether we wanted to sit inside or outside so we decided to sit inside since it was a little windy outside. When our waitress showed up, I asked her about the Happy Hour menu and she informed us that Happy Hour was limited to just the bar area and outside tables so we asked to move outside, and they were cool with us moving outside since it was pretty slow. Our waiter, Edgar, was super friendly and accommodating. We decided to order the Going All In to start off with and see how big it was before we ordered our meals, which was a very good idea because it was huge! I wanted to try their fried calamari, but held off until our platter arrived. The three of us couldn't finish the order so it was a good thing that we didn't order anything else on top of that. We liked half of the pokes/ceviches that came with the platter and didn't really care for the other half. I honestly don't remember what the names were, but we'll definitely have to do the individual orders the next time we do return. Even though we were stuffed, I asked Edgar to order the smallest dessert that they have on their menu as my son's birthday cake. He brought out the brownie with vanilla ice cream and told us that it was on the house. How sweet! We'll definitely be back to try their entrees since we didn't get a chance to this time. Spent all day in downtown Walnut Creek and decided on this place for a late lunch early dinner. The service from start to finish was INCREDIBLE. From the hostess to the lovely gentleman who bussed our table at the end of the evening, everyone was kind and positive and wonderful. Our server Caylee was the real gem of the experience. She was very knowledgeable about the food items and the beer and cocktail options for my brother in law and sister as well. She was so attentive to my 18 month old niece and brought her a kid friendly water cup right away and put her order in right away without us even asking. She was simply wonderful and made the experience that much better. Now on to the food...which I forgot to take a picture of before it was demolished by all of us. The food was really good. I had the guajillo shrimp tacos which were in an adobo sauce. I ordered the three taco plate for 17.00 dollars. They were good. Not phenomenal. And not bad. Nothing was wrong with them. They were good tacos, but not the item I would come back to this restaurant for. We had the Mexican cocoa Verne brûlée dessert which was also really good, but I think I'd go for the macadamia but brownie on my next visit. This restaurant is great. Good food, but AMAZING service.
