Pacific Hills is a beautiful location. It's tucked in the corner of a strip mall next to the DMV and is much bigger than it looks from the outside and is really quite lovely inside. This place is unassuming from the outside. On the inside however, the place is gigantic. Spacious with a sort of modern decor. Perfect for a banquet dinner, wedding reception, or conference. The place probably fits about 150-200 people. The service was impeccable and the staff was great. This place caters and serves Mediterranean cuisine. The plating was great, appetizers( hummus, baba ganoush, falafels, salad and a potato dish I forgot the name of) were amazing. Main entrees (chicken and beef shish kabobs) were tasty and not dry. Im not a big fan of dry kabobs. Servers were very snappy and efficient once the meals were done. I'd recommend this place for anyone looking to host a big party or reception. read more

First I'll write about my lovely experience as an attendee to a wedding at this location. Parking is plentiful, signage is quite small, but just note it's literally right next to the DMV. The lobby area is beautiful with tall ceilings and the inside dining area is spacious, nice temperature inside as most women are in dresses, and the food was tasty. Bathrooms were clean and well-lit with extra knick knacks you can borrow such as a sewing kit, lotion, and etc. right by the sink. The bar is a cute little "shack style" but not the most efficient when the line wrapped around to the lobby area. A corner right before entering the dining area is perfect spot for a photo booth. Overall, I had a grand time as an attendee. Now I'll be writing about the behind the scenes. I was not one of my friend's wedding coordinators, but I sat next to my friend, who was assisting with the details since the bride and groom were obviously busy. The manager came by to tell my friend that there wasn't enough food ordered so some tables didn't eat yet. Apparently the servers gave full dinner plates to children and they weren't suppose to because the number of attendees were finalized a long time ago. The groom said to just order more food and pay the difference because no one should be leaving hungry. However, the banquet manager said that they don't have any more supplies. Say what?! If you're expecting people to pay for additional food, then how do you not have any?! Eventually the cooks put together some chicken, but still charged the same price for what everyone else got, which was salmon and steak. There was another instance regarding the lobby display and how the manager accused my friend of misplacing the item... Anyway, this wasn't my battle, but I felt for the bride, groom, and my wedding coordinator friend who had to deal with the negative behind the scene situations. Rod, his wife Mona, and the entire staff at Pacific Hills were nothing short of amazing this past weekend. I threw my mom a surprise party for her 60th birthday and Rod helped me put it together barely a week before the event. We had a total of 55 guests. I was extremely nervous because I was doing everything so last minute. Rod was so accommodating and helpful; but most of all, SO FLEXIBLE. I was blown away by how easy it was to have our requests taken seriously. Is that weird?? I have so much to say about this place. First of all, the food was insanely delicious. I honestly was blown away by the chicken/pesto with rice. It was perfection. I paid for the open bar and it was fabulous. The interior is beautiful. Rod let me choose the colors for the linens as well as whether I wanted chiavari chairs or not for no extra cost. We were in the smaller ballroom that fit 70 people and that was perfect for us. They had another wedding in their huge ballroom at the same time but we never crossed paths with them. The staff was friendly, attentive, and just on top of everything. Lastly, I had to really go to some great lengths to surprise my mom. Rod and Mona played along with my little plan and thanks to them my mom was totally surprised. If there was zero stars I think I would give it to this venue. And this review is primarily for the owner. I called over a month ago to schedule a visit. He seemed nice over the phone. He even said sorry you can't come today we partied too hard last night. Then I text called twice to see the venue and then he was in San Diego and there was construction on the site. Fast forward to my scheduled appointment which was today he said sorry my team is in Palm Springs for an expo. Are you kidding me?!? This doesn't make any sense. He is sloppy, irresponsible and clearly doesn't know how to run the business. If you are planning this venue for your wedding or want to use their catering services don't. Trust me not worth the headache. He may have a "nice" venue but customer experience is WAY more important to me that just that. read more

We had our wedding at pacific Hills banquet, sadly, I must say it's one of the biggest regrets I've had. We had been warned to have all decisions written down, or Rod (manager) will skew his way out of any verbal contract. This guy is a big scam artist. He took our deposit, hasn't given it back, despite our multiple attempts to contact him. He never provided security as it was written on the contract. He forbid the lights off the ENTIRE time the dance floor was open. He had blamed us for one of his benches being broken, when this bench was in an area he didn't allow anyone to be in. He also painted a fantasy when we initially met him, saying the entire banquet hall would be of our use during the time slot we paid for, yet he locked up certain areas. He rushed us through the entire wedding day :( This guy is a nightmare to work with, think twice before booking here. read more

I paid $150.00 to see Rami Ayash singing there tonight , he started singing at 11:30 pm and stopped exactly at 12:25 pm so it was 55 minutes only... This is a total ripp off, cheating, and in fact fraudulent from both the sponsor & the owners of Pacific Hills who provided a very lousy food it seems food served at a hospital or convalacent senior citizens homes. I will never step a foot there ever again, the is CHEATING , .... I had the very nice opportunity of experiencing this restaurant while standing in line at the DMV. Without knowing I was offered a Starbucks sample and a sample of one of the best falafel wraps I have ever had. My wife and I have tried many Mediterranean restaurants in OC and we have found few places that serve good falafel. This is one of the best and I found out why directly from the owner Mona. Pacific Hills Bistro's falafel is made from scratch with herbs and vegetables that make it green and authentic. I will be back soon to try their lamb as their chicken shawarma was tender and had authentic spices. Not to mention they have a full Starbucks bar and it is newly renovated. By the way, I am completely shocked, appalled and disgusted by what happened after I wrote this initial review. Pacific Hills had the nerve to contact my friend and beg them to convince me to remove my review. They completely violated my privacy by figuring out who I was and who I was connected to, who had their wedding at their venue. Instead of reaching out to me first, they instead guilt-tripped my friend into trying to get me to change the review, which just resulted in even more AWKWARDNESS for me!!! TOTAL 1 STAR IN MY BOOK. These people clearly love to harass people and really have no business doing so. Maybe they should spend more time running a GOOD venue that treats people well, rather than spending the majority of their time trying to convince people to LIE about how great their venue is - when that couldn't be further from the truth. I was considering this place for my wedding because after reviewing several venue price lists, Pacific Hills actually looked the best (based on photos) and also the most bang for your buck in Orange County! I finally visited the site today and got a tour... when I entered the place I immediately knew that this wasn't the wedding location for me. The place sharea a plaza with a Big Lots and DMV and the interior just seems cramped. We were considering doing both a ceremony and reception here (we really wanted having one venue for everything). The ceremony would basically take place in another banquet hall right next to your reception banquet hall in a more elongated room. Felt very "conferency"... too bad. The actual reception banquet hall looks just like the pictures they have online, and the decorations looked beautiful too. I have no doubt they'd put on a beautiful ceremony and reception for those who choose to have it here, but it just wasn't the place for me. read more

Overall 3.5/4 stars - Good location, Beautiful venue, Friendly Staff, but don't expect too much from the on the day coordinator (who is also the facility manager). This place fit our budget more compared to other places of similar style in southern OC. 5 stars Parking/Convenience- PH is located 5-10 minutes from the 5 fwy with 3-4 hotels within 2 miles of it. Since it's in a strip mall, there is plenty of free parking especially in the evening. Banquet Hall- Beautifully elegant. Courtyard entrance is a good place for cocktails and to meet guests. PH can accommodate ~240 (small room) to 500 (extended large room) guests. Ceremonies can be held there too. The cascading lights are nice. 4 stars Silver Buffet- Compared to other similar venues, the buffet was more affordable here. I got feedback on the food which was "decent". People liked the strawberry salad, pasta salad, and rolls. The chicken was flavored ok, but too salty. The beef was dry and chewy. We were happy that we brought our cake, but they charge a cake cutting fee. Premium Bar- Most of our guests got what they wanted. They said the drinks were strong so I was glad that PH didn't water the drinks down. However, they didn't have Kahlua and couldn't make a White Russian.. party foul. It was also agreed prior to the reception that tea would be offered along with the coffee, but none of our guests saw the tea. Dressing Room- Too dark. Can't see my makeup being done. We ended up taking the lampshade off. However, I liked how there were several partitions. Accent lights- I somewhat regretted getting the colored lights with PH as I saw that our DJ/MC can supply lights that change colors with more varieties. It seems that many DJ/MCs now supply light decor. However, the pink colored lights with the cascading ceiling lights still made the banquet hall warm and inviting. 3 stars Wedding Coordinator- Tamim. Don't expect him to get back to you quickly or at all. He does better with phone calls and not so much with emails. He was more responsive the week right before the reception. Our guests felt that our event went smoothly though we def. had asked for some things to be done (with the list emailed to him several days in advance), which were not done so we had to remind him during the event. Also, I wished there were better coordination between the DJ/MC and our wedding coordinator. Our DJ/MC goofed up or omitted some announcements which I had hoped Tamim would've stepped in to fix. Also, perhaps it's Tamim's culture or bias to be more responsive to greet the groom with a handshake (vs. greeting me the same way), but I have def. met more approachable/friendly/organized wedding coordinators. Lighting- Hall entrance was dark as our guests checked in. The lights were not turned on until after the reception started, but they should have just been turned before as it was expected that guests would be coming in earlier. read more

I recently had the pleasure of having my wedding at Pacific Hills Banquet Hall. It was nothing less than spectacular. Quite simply, everything that was promised was delivered on and more. My wife and I had no prior knowledge or experience regarding this location. We called and setup a time to come and see the venue and discuss options, pricing, etc. Rod and his amazing wife Mona helped us from the beginning with warmth and care. The banquet hall is surprisingly big once you enter, there's no way to know from the outside. Very clean and spacious, you had room to move, interact and dance. We met a few times to discuss the food, drinks, themes for the wedding, linens, etc. What we requested was delivered upon. The samples matched the final product. Rod was there was well to go over the ideas, bring some of his own from past experience. He never made us feel rushed and every whim my wife had, and there was quite a few, he entertained and went over step by step. The days leading up to the wedding Rod was there to make sure everything went perfect. There was no last minute issues on his end or sorry this product won't arrive or we can't do this. Me being a business man it is important for a man's word to have meaning and I can say he honored everything he promised. There was no cutting corners or excuses, that's something we can all respect. The day of the wedding I noticed he and his staff throughout the night. We were catered to and pampered and they ensured every need was taken care. Open bar, top shelf liquor, all night. This added to all the guests smiling of course. Many comments from guests thanking us for serving black label and grey goose, etc. Thank you for that. The food was spot on as well. The pesto chicken was everyone's favorite. We had that with filet served for all guests. Family members from young to old enjoyed the dinner and commented on it which always is good to hear and makes us feel good. Truly no complaints. When everything was said and done, we received our deposit back with no issue. A smile and cheer never left Rod's face from beginning til end. I want to start by thanking Rod & Co. for existing. It wasn't long time ago that I had my wedding in the Pacific Hills banquet. I can only say wow, what an experience it was for us. The party floor is near the beach so we got a lot of outstanding pictures at the beach. The banquet hall was beautiful both outside and inside. The food was perfect, everyone was full and satisfied and they was filling in as soon as something was missing on the tables. The service was ON TOP, we wasn't missing anything, The team and we basically agreed all the time, you know, girls are always picky and fussy about this big day of their lives. I attended a wedding here last Fall. Customer Service: The staff accommodated to all of the guests. They were polished and cordial. I also had an opportunity to meet the manager and he had a very friendly and professional disposition about himself. Just from my observations, I was actually very impressed that he was able to efficiently manage the event while take the time to speak with me and other guests. Location: It was in Laguna Hills (South OC) which is a premier area to hold a venue. The venue itself was absolutely stunning. The decor was exquisite. Tasteful done. Modern but classic. It was obvious that the planners and the bride/groom worked well together to execute every detail of the wedding.. and it came out wonderful. Food: Served in handsome portions, they offered buffet style meals. Of all the weddings I attended that summer, PH undeniably offered the best food. They were not shy with their portions and we came back for thirds! It was the most flavorful and definitely filled me up! The dessert bar and hors d'œuvres were great, too. Entertainment: They chose both a performer (not sure who the guy was) and a DJ who played the best music!! We danced the entire night away. Overall experience: Copacetic. It was the only wedding where we got to stay past 11:00pm. In my opinion, if you pay that much, you should get your moneys worth. Pacific Hills undoubtedly worked wonders for my friends wedding. We got married on April 21, 2018. The venue is spectacular but the customer service that Rod and his fabulous staff provides to you is much more valuable! We checked out many venues but after talking to Rod, it was clear that Pacific Hills is where we wanted our wedding reception to be! Rod's calm yet confident demeanor makes you feel and assures you everything will be alright...and sure enough, he was right because everything was perfect and went according to schedule. Pacific Hills was a beautiful hall and my wedding there was absolutely amazing. I searched several places for a venue but once I saw Pacific hills I knew this was the place for me. Rod is absolutely amazing to work with, he understood the needs we had for our ethnic wedding and helped us setup a schedule so the night went off without a hitch. The food was absolutely delicious, we had a cocktail hour, and several appetizers on the table. The main course was chicken and filet mignon and the chef on location is superb. The price was reasonable and cheaper than the hotels that my wife and I had visited. We liked this banquet Hall more than the banquet halls because we feel that the layout of this place is geared for weddings while the hotels convention rooms seemed bland. I've been here on several occasions for various middle eastern events. The food is usually mediocre but the service is decent. Last night however was my worst experience and I won't be going to this venue in the future. I had purchased a ticket for the event online, but the link/attachment wouldn't load. The staff could clearly see from the email that I had a ticket but the owner refused to provide me the wifi. The rest of their security team tried to discredit the fact that I had a ticket despite my showing them the email confirmation multiple times (I guess they can't read). As a result I never got the seat nor meal that I paid for. I honestly wouldn't have cared if it weren't for the disrespectful chauvinism from the staff. read more

It is big enough for weddings, and other occasions to be celebrated at. However, their food is disgusting. I highly highly DO NOT recommend their food. The chicken was not cooked that good and it didn't taste good at all.. If I remember correctly, it was stuffed chicken but it I believe the plate also came with mashed potato and other vegetables. I left the table and came back five minutes later, the food was gone. It was also super hot, the AC was not on. For the amount of money paid, It definitely was not worth it. If I could give this place negative stars, I would. First the good, since it's quick. The place is very nice inside. It's in a shopping plaza and not easily visible, but it has a nice entrance, a sizable hall, and good lighting and furniture. It's also more reasonably priced than other places, but now I know why. Now, for the bad. The list is long, but here are the highlights. I held off on the review for a while to allow myself to think this through and provide a more measured review. We dealt with Tamim, who assured us that they could be very accommodating. We had an Indian and an American ceremony for our wedding, so we had specific requests. We ran by all of them and he assured us he could work with us. The two main agreements where things went horribly wrong were that we would have a fire inside for the Indian ceremony and that we would have a flower girl. We agreed on the type and height of the flame and signed paperwork from the fire marshall and he agreed on throwing flowers. On the day of the wedding, right before the ceremony was to start, he went up to the pandit (Indian priest) and told him that no flames are allowed. After some arguing, he eventually agreed on having a smaller flame. The pandit by this time did not want to do it anymore but my wife convinced him that it was OK and that we had already cleared this. As the flower girl was about to start throwing flowers, Tamim attempted to take away the flowers and yelled that no flowers were allowed on the floor. The flower girl, only about 3 years old at the time, started crying. Again, after some arguing, Tamim agrees. The flower girl was now scared but one of our friends jumped in to help her down the isle. Overall, Tamim was very difficult to work with and we did not anticipate that from meeting him the first time. He also kept wanting to talk to me and often ignored my wife's requests, prior to and during the wedding. Here is a list of a few other things: * We had to re-confirm the layout several times. * Tamim refused to allow a food tasting. We had to argue for a couple of weeks. The Italian food was good, though. * As in most weddings, things get hectic, so we told Tamim to talk to one of us if he had any questions. Instead, he kept talking and yelling to other people, who then came to us because they had no idea what he was talking about. He even got into an argument with my father-in-law. * We payed for unlimited nonalcoholic drinks. Tamim did not want that announced and all drinks were very watered down. Again, that's the short version. As you might imagine, we did not end on good terms. My wife ran into Tamim at a wedding expo and he acted as if we were happy clients. Pacific Hills was actually recommended to us but we later found out that they had dealt with Tamim's father for their events. I'll grant that things can get hectic on all sides, but I don't see any excuse for the experience being as bad as it was. Obviously, I would not recommend Pacific Hills. It doesn't even matter if you try to get everything in writing, as our experience shows. The only positive outcome is that we had a great wedding despite the bad service. read more

This has got to be worst place I've seen from a service standpoint. How can you not have enough food for all your guests! Even before that, they ran out of appetizers which shows how cheap and how low the quality of the service was! The business practice goes even further to basically cheat you of money by telling a month or two before the wedding that your venue might be cancelled. This is because they decided to tell us that the food wasn't going to be enough. We would have had to pay more for food since they screwed up by not calculating the food properly. read more

Attended a school function here. While the decor is pretty (Spanish style) and the layout lends itself well for parties (outdoor area --although it is in the DMV parking lot, reception hall, lobby and ballroom), the food and service were rather pathetic. The location - If you don't mind your event being held next to the DMV, this place might be for you. The food - For the amount paid, the quality was very poor and the presentation of it lacked any imagination. The service - From the not maintained, dirty bathrooms to the lack of any service beyond having your plate thrown at you the service received leaves a lot to be desired. read more

I come here twice a week for lunch for their chicken shish kabob plate. I must say it's really delicious and the chicken is always very juicy. The staff is very friendly. It feels like a neighborhood joint where everybody knows your name. read more

This place is located in a strip mall (nuff said...). Immediately when you walk into this place it feels really cramped because the entry way is very narrow and then you walk into the bar area and thats small too but going past that into the main dining hall it is very open and spacious! Very easy to load and unload large items at this venue too bad there wasnt more to the place... read more
