Visited here for my 55th birthday. Our server was nice her name was Melisa. Service was very slow from the kitchen and she would make sure to come by and let us know how much longer it would be an apologize for taking longer and she was basically by herself taking care of all the tables we went at 5:00 in the evening on a Monday night. This place is Beautiful by the water. But the food not very good at all they need to get a different kitchen chef, husband had the steamed mussels they were not very good. I had one piece fish and chips French fries had absolutely no taste even though they had seasoning on them and their coleslaw horrible absolutely no taste. And it's not my taste buds because we went and had a burger and fries at the Paddle Pub out by Lake Goodwin just the day before and their French fries were amazing lots of taste! I realize there's a lot of places that are hurting still from the pandemic that I've seen reviews from this place before seems like they still have not found a good Chef for their kitchen and the food is still not that good the price is outrageous! My family and I came here at happy hour to celebrate a birthday. First off, the view is phenomenal! We sat outside with out four dogs and the staff and fellow diners were very accommodating. It was peaceful and quite, very easy to fully enjoy the amazing atmosphere this place has to offer. Staff was attentive, friendly, and helpful. However the service was slow. Food took over 40 minutes to reach our table despite having so few customers. The reason may have been they were waiting for all of our food to be prepared at the same time considering all of our dishes arrived together. Some of the dishes were simplistic in taste, possibly considered bland. The chowder and fried calamari were the exceptions! I loved both, and considering I usually hate calamari, that is quite the accomplishment. The chowder was so flavorful and delicious, the calamari was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The crab sliders were also good. The prices are what you would expect when eating at a beautiful restaurant along the water. If not slightly cheaper. Portions are small, but it was happy hour so that's to be expected. We'll have to come back sometime to try the dinner menu. After seeing the average review was a 3, was not very optimistic but our expectations were definitely exceeded. They were too busy to get a table on Saturday, but we ate here for 3 meals during our stay and the service, while slow, was very friendly and apologetic. And the food was quite good and definitely better than expected. My husband loves biscuits and gravy and he deemed this right up there with the best he's had. The fish and chips were also quite good. We stayed at the Semiahmoo Resort 7/28 through 7/31/2019, and the Packers Kitchen & Bar is pretty much the only game around (but that's not their fault, so not dinging them for that :) ). We went there often during our stay; in fact, we asked for a room change when we were checking in and there was a little wait, so we went to Packers and sat on their outside deck (where our dog was allowed - they even brought him his own bowl of water!). We enjoyed a couple of drinks and their pretzel with beer cheese - yum! We came back for dinner that evening. Food was fresh and wonderfully prepared. If you go, you have to get their peel 'n eat shrimp - not only do you get quite a generous portion, but they were a nice size and very tasty, not bland at all, like shrimp can sometimes be. I had the brussel spouts; OMG - so delicious and their pork wing - very meaty and tasty. Honey had their Salish Sea Cioppino and enjoyed it. We did have a little issue with flies in the restaurant (the doors and windows are open - no way really to keep them out - screens, maybe?) and I did mention to the MOD that it took a little bit away from our awesome experience. Came back the next night - it was hot and we just wanted to sit on the deck (we had our dog with us), but the last table with an umbrella had just been taken. We saw on the other side of the building, on their other deck, that there were tables, but it didn't look like it was being serviced. I went inside anyway and asked if we could sit there and be served, and the waitress said, of course; let me come clean a table for you. We sat for just a bit, and because it wasn't an "open" area, I think they forgot we were there, so I went inside and saw the MOD, CarolAnne. I explained what was going on, and she apologized, and came served us herself! Throughout our entire meal! We had the shrimp again, and we shared a Caesar salad, added the flatiron steak - that steak was so well seasoned and prepared - very tender and delicious! And CarolAnne told us to pick out a desert to make up for the evening before (she remembered us!). So very sweet of her (literally lol). While one would think a resort would have a couple choices for dining (there is the Blue Heron Grill, but the menu is almost the same and located off on one their golf courses), at least the one choice they have is wonderful. And the service we received was exemplary. If/when we get to go back to Semiahmoo, we'll look forward to dining here again. read more

I've hoped to use the term 'syzygy' in a restaurant review, but options have been limited. Beyond being an impossible Scrabble word, 'syzygy' seems equally difficult to weave into a dining experience. Syzygy is an astronomical term for a nearly straight line configuration of three or more celestial bodies. A full syzygy of our solar system occurs once every 5,200 years. Hopefully our experience of syzygy at Packers will recur more often! So what was this syzygy we experienced? On the eve of life as we knew it, a Wednesday in March before COVID-19 descended, we decided to visit Packers at Semiahmoo Resort for a sunset dinner. The day was beautiful and the view from Packers is always stunning, but we had an extra bonus that day; live music along with our dinner. We settled into our table for two, close to the stage where Sonny Lowe, Jayson Bradley and Sam Halbert would join us. But first, dinner. Given the maritime setting, we of course ordered seafood; fish and chips for me, salmon for my wife. It was perfect, especially with the beautiful backdrop of setting sun and lapping waves. Sam and the band soon joined us - it seemed like they were sitting with us at our table in Packers' intimate setting. The evening was filled with the rare syzygy of beauty, taste and tone: Nature's beauty, Packers' great food and Sam's small-band music. Dining perfection; great food wrapped in an equally great experience. Our COVID-19 world doesn't have space for this type of experience right now. We all wait for 'normal' to return. But like a favorite poem or photo, the memory of the syzygy of our experience remains. We will be back to celebrate Packers' special syzygy again. read more

I did enjoy the burger, so much so that I ordered it three times during my three night stay! Everything else we ordered had an issue. The margarita pizza was so bland had no flavor was not worth almost $20, the crab salad had shells in every bite my boyfriend couldn't even eat it and then they charged us on the bill anyway, the seafood chowder although very delicious was cold. Would recommend sticking with a burger and playing it safe. drinks are also tasty but overpriced. Their ranch is amazing I will say it's the best I've had! There are pros and cons of this restaurant. Happy hour is great. We had a few meals here during our stay. One one evening, we chose to go lite and split a salad and some fried calamari so we could have the pear bread pudding. The baby lettuce salad is very fresh, dressed just right and a good size to split. The fried calamari was crispy and not at all greasy. It was tender. The pear bread pudding was absolutely delicious. We really enjoyed that. This evening we had the crab mac and cheese and beer-battered shrimp. The dishes were good, but I was hard pressed to find crab in the mac and cheese. There were minute amounts of crab in the dish. There was one very small clump of crab that was cold, so it was added later. The rest of the crab was in shreds. If there was a teaspoon of those shreds, that would be generous. The mac and cheese minus the crab was delicious. The dish was $21+. I don't expect generous amounts of lump crab meat, but it sure would have been nice to see something other than a cold small piece of crab and shreds. The shrimp were very good, served with fries and cole slaw. Service is good. You are not rushed and we had plenty of water to drink. Should you chose to dine there, you just might want to avoid the mac and cheese so you are not disappointed by the lack of crab and the high price of the dish. read more

A definite MUST if visiting from out of town! We had an unpleasant experience the first time we were there (we must have gone on an off-day) but as fans of oysters and the view, we decided to try again. We had SUSAN as our server who provided hands-down one of the best customer service experiences we had ever received! We went back a few more times following this redemptive visit and have sat inside, outside, lunch/happy hr/dinner, and recommend sitting outside (if weather permits) for happy hour and watch the sunset. If you're a fan of dogs, you'll run into a few furry friends on the patio. Drinks were delicious, I appreciated that the caesar salad was authentic with actual anchovies, and the entrees were great portions and cooked to perfection! Will be back soon! read more

There has been nothing good about coming here. It's a classic restaurant that just relies on guests that can't really go anywhere else since they're at a resort in the middle of nowhere. Poor poor service. The food wasn't impressive either. I'm pretty sure they forgot the dressing entirely on a salad. The server for our drinks and then I think forgot he didnt take our order. Only after he offered another round did I have to ask if we can order. We were here at night so you cNt see the view...maybe that would distract you from the food and service. Service has improved a lot, as has the food quality. The presentation and plating is much better. Oil content has been reduced which is great! On weekends they have a breakfast buffet that is really reasonably priced. Juices, coffee and tea are included and there is a great selection of eggs, delicious potatoes, blintzes/French toast and other assortments including fresh fruit, yogurt, meats & cheeses. We were served by Dustin who was by far the best server we have EVER had the pleasure to meet. The food was amazing! The Kobe burger was a little over done in the center but the Calamari was to die for. The cocktails ate on point. Highly recommend the "Cabin in the woods" for you bourbon lovers. I didn't get to try it myself, but the baked brie looked terrific. First off the service here is the absolute worst! We stood waiting for someone to talk to us for over five minutes. Yes, we did have an 18 month old baby with us on our hip, but that doesn't excuse people walking back and forth not even acknowledging our very presence. Once a staff member from the Peerside Restaurant saw us waiting, he came over to see if he could help as he noted we were being ignored. He was helpful. We asked for a menu and then we're given only 6 takeout options. Ridiculous! They don't allow you to order anything besides pizza and pretty much a burger due to the excuse of other food not traveling well in a to-go box. Lastly, the food was just okay. The place swarming in flies. When I say swarming I don't mean a few I mean flies in the restaurant about thirty or so circling over everyone's food. Pretty disappointed to be treated the way we were especially being guests if the hotel. The take out food options were ridiculous, and for a family friendly hotel, the staff of both restaurants need to learn how to act like they like babies! read more

The bar was busy but not packed and it took about 15 minutes for us to get drinks. Food took almost 45 minutes. Nice server but really slow. Prices: Over-priced for what you get. $15 for a burger might be OK if it's awesome but this one was garbage. The Calamari was expensive at any price but it was $15 as well. Atmosphere: Up-scale resort bar. Nice building and a well appointed bar. Beautiful view and classy furniture all around. If the food was the quality of the furniture they'd have it made. Too bad. Packers is a weekly stop for us. The staff is friendly. The view is second to none. Right on the water you can watch the sunset, boats cruise by, and people wandering the beach. Even an occasional seal will float in. The food is simple and flavorful using local when they can. I would rate 4 stars but lowered due to an obvious change in management. The service was poor. Staff was not trained. 4 items we ordered were out on an already limited menu. The kitchen was a miss, the bartender had a couple misses, the waitstaff did not bring water or our drinks. If you are ever in Blaine, this is THE place to dine. First off, the drive to the restaurant is astounding. Second, the views from the patio are even better. And most importantly, the food is DELICIOUS! I had the happy hour honey garlic wings and they were so juicy and amazing. I also had oysters on the half shell- because why would you not get oysters here. They were amazing as well. The oyster wash they serve with them is almost too vinegar-y but still adds a nice touch. Located on a beautiful waterfront property, Packers is a poorly run restaurant in an otherwise beautiful resort. Menu is a joke...no real theme and quality is poor. Staff present a confusing process for "checking in" to get a table. When you call for reservations they usually report that "we are booked until 8 pm...." and they fail to tell you many tables are left open for walk in guests. It's a confusing mess. We live in the Semiahmoo community and most of my friends avoid Packers. It's sad....better leadership would solve the problem in a heartbeat. In past history there was a fine dining area in the resort as well as the more casual dining in Packers. This is no longer the case. read more

Nice pub at Semiahmoo Resort. We can walk from our boat. Nice atmosphere and a limited, but good menu. Great service and awesome view. Only criticism I have is super light pours on martinis. Tried them a few times and consistently small perhaps a single ounce or less of vodka. I even asked for a double and paid for it, still puny pour. Hopefully management will see this and correct. We did ask our server for consideration but no help. Start pouring heavier and this place gets 5 stars. read more

Second visit was for dinner. Our server, Mackenzie was nice. I ordered salmon on a plank which had way to much pepper on it. It was also over cooked.
